I visited sammobile.com and i noticed GT-P6200 in the Latest Firmwares section.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=3&o=1&m=GT-P6200&r=2#regiona
**Flash OFFICIAL firmwares using Odin. (download attachment below)**
extract downloaded firmware and Odin
run Odin
put your GTab+ P6200 in download mode by pressing the volume DOWN button and power button. Release the power button once the Samsung logo appears and HOLD the volume down button.
Once a prompt appears, press the volume up button
connect your GTab+ to your PC
In Odin, press PDA and select the .TAR file that you extracted from the downloaded firmware archive
Press Start
Wait for like 10-15 minutes 'til your phone reboots.
thanks, downloading now! woo hoo, will report any noticeable changes.. probably minor bug fixes(aka breaks root...I hope not! lol)
I am drooling
P_
I see no noticeable changes in KL2
anybody know where we acyually find a changelog?? even a git.hub type deal?
Ive already deodexed and zip aligned the .apks, will update my other post later tonight.
i don't think samsung even posts the changelogs.
EDIT:
There's an XXKL7 Rom. Do you think it's more updated than DXKL2?
yes, likely is, considering how samsung uses there letter/number codes,
since its so far ahead its likely a beta/test ROM.
that being siad, I might just give it a try. where did you find it? same place.
make sure it is for your model, mine is p6200 from malaysia UWAXME model#
thanks, im following samfirmware on twitter and kies too.
edit: teak that XXL2 is for indonesia, all of them released in december Im willing to bet are about the same, just for different models. Could very well actually do damage flashing a different model firmware. just some tips.
i searched "P6200XXKL7" in google and i found this website.
http://www.kaskus.us/showthread.php?p=608507241
they updated their firmware to KL7 through Kies. Which is why I don't think it's a beta Rom of some sort since Kies won't release such.
I just finished downloading it. I'm kind of feeling brave right now and I'll flash it anyway. I'll be right back with some feedback.
Mine is also P6200 but i don't know if it's UWAXME. But it came with DXKL1.
if it came new in the box with DXKL1, I would say its Malaysian same as mine UWAXME, according to sammobile firmware. as far as flashing an indonesian FW, I think they have voice call as well, so you may be just fine, just a different CSC package, etc. if you were to flash a FW from somewhere other than malaysia or Indonesia which might not have voice enabled, you could be missing phone related stuff.
Hope it all works out for you, let us know if you find anything cool.
you /should/ always be able to ODIN back.
ttyl
XXKL7 works on my device. I just finished rooting it. I'll be uploading the About Device screeny later.
@chris you have flashed DXKL2 right? what Kernel does it have?
EDIT: screeny uploaded in first post
Interesting to see that the baseband has been upgraded too, from what seems to be quite an old version KK5.
Will join the brave group as soon as I get to my office.
Also XX in the code is pointing to a European version.....
P_
KK5? according to SamMobile, KK5 was released last November. That's indeed an old Firmware! Anyways, good luck with flashing the new Firmwares!
KK5 is the baseband version that come associated with KL1
screenie attached..
only noticeable change so far from KL1 to KL2, removing bloat I noticed SamsungUNA1.apk is now SamsungUNA3.apk ?
looks like samsunguna is needed to update samsung apps / also may be related to your csc code. so unless you use samsungapps, its probably safe to remove. I havent had any problems.
hello XL3 already? i just installed xl2 two days ago.
https://twitter.com/#!/SamFirmware/status/155223653443833856
yeah! i was like "WHAT THE FFFFFFF" when i visited sammobile and saw DXKL3 in the latest firmwares section.
really wish we had a changelog.. or an update for custom apps in mini bar..
Downloading it now, will report later when my slooooooooow internet connection will allow me. Do I need Odin for that ? What version ? Do I need to repartition ? Or do I apply the zip file from recovery ?!?!
P_
unzip , should ask you for a password-- is samfirmware.com Open Odin3 v 1.85, click pda button find and select DXKL3xxxx.tar.md5 you just unzipped. power off tablet with Odin still open. power on and vol down, it will display warning about custom OS, press vol up to continue. when you see the android plug into computer. you should see a yellow com port highlighted in Odin. press Start and wait a few minutes. after device reboots and Odin says success Passed in green, you can unplug and enjoy.
OK, I did not know what to expect from the ZIP file, but once downloaded it was all clear.
The archive contains everything (bootloader, kernel, radio , recovery, etc, ) but a first impression is that nothing really changed.
Agree with Chris, a changelog would be helpful to check on what's new.
Will report later after a little bit of use.
P_
i want to say I noticed some new ringtones.. but nahh those are probably same old.
Im going to see if I can download the next update from settings>check for updates.
KL2 was dated dec 22 KL3 is like 2 weeks later, either its bugfixes.. or system performance tweaks.
I just got a brand new SGS2 GT-i9210 from sweden. After unsimlocking it, it perfectly works on our experimental 4G (2.6Ghz) network in France.
I tried to root it, but the zergrush doomlord rootkit v4 does not work properly, it ends with the "Hellions with BLUE flames" error.
I used this rootkit with different SGS2 4G/LTE smartphone and never had problem, it always worked.
I was just wondering if someone could help me to root this GT-i9210...
Thanks in advance for your replies
I'd love to get into this as soon as I've got rid of the Tele2 simlock on my i9210. Any tips on reliable unlock code providers for this phone?
As this post comes up high on the google results for rooting the GT-i9210, here's the link to the ACTUAL page on how to root it.
Edit: Probably better to link to the OCAU thread http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showthread.php?p=14233218#post14233218

This, 100%, works. More discussion on this phone here:

I don't dare to belive you.
The root method you refer to in your link is for models sold on the US market, in Europe this model is branded GT-I9210 (EU) and is similar, but not identical to the models in US or Canada.
I have followed a Swedish thread where people has used this method, but many of them has bricked their phones....
The whole process works fine through all steps until rebooting.
The back key and the menu key stops working.
I wish somebody could fix a reliable root method for GT-I9210.
I'm the guy who wrote that post on Whirlpool. I have a pair of GT-I9210Ts, both of which are now rooted using CWM and superuser.zip.
Note that this doesn't actually CHANGE anything on the phone. So it's not going to brick it. All it does is install CWM, and then uses CWM to install superuser.zip. I can't possibly see how it's possible to brick the phone doing this.

Yep, I did this today. The phone's back and menu buttons aren't working. I tried installing softkeys from the Market but still no go. Is there a solution to this problem?
That's.. very very strange. Someone else reported it, but I have no idea why this happened. You're not touching ANYTHING to do with the buttons. All you're doing is updating the recovery.img and then installing a package. I've rooted three phones now, and haven't had that problem.
Can you read http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showthread.php?p=14233218#post14233218 and tell me if you did anything different?

I've put a bunch of recovery information on that ocau post (linked above). Have a run through that. If you're NOT using a Telstra phone, I'm unsure where you're going to find the correct roms though 8-\

The method you have posted is one I have already tried, 2hrs after getting my phone from Telstra. Back button and Menu buttons blank out and no longer work.
No one should use this method until it is specifically tried and tested for the phone.
EDIT: Just to assist you a bit further with the method.
- A full factory reset was completed, not working.
- Telstra firmware downloaded, installed, factory reset, not working.
- Dialled *#*#2663#*#* - Selected Touch Key F/W to upgrade, not working.
----- Phone F/W was marked as 0x4, Part F/W was 0x0.
I believe this was the issue, the fact that there was a number mismatch.
Those with the GT-I9210 visit this link for Original EU Rom.

As I mentioned on OCAU, I didn't have much of a problem.
"xrobau" Did you have any moment when the buttons did not work?
Hi,
Any updates on this phone rooting procedure?
This generic firmware will work in Portuguese operators? Any European tested it?
Thanks
Sent from my GT-I9210 using XDA
It's in Portuguese. Translate with Google. A friend of mine did root gt-i9210. I've used this method to root mine.

In my case the keys stopped working after flashing first time a kernel with cwm recovery. The phone also didn't boot anymore. The kernel itself was backuped with the very same cwm.
Before I flashed the kernels with odin and also with "dd" command. No problems with the keys.
Based on these things I got the feeling that there could be something wrong with cwm.
I could not fix it so far.
I'm not sure whether my post would be valid any longer on a thread more than a year old.
Anyway, if someone needs a pre-rooted version of the latest stock Jelly Bean 4.1.2 XXUAMF1 COV (GT-I9210), they can do so from this thread, post #4:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34712551
Flashed it via Odin & using it without any issues on my S II LTE GT-I9210T.

Hey guys i got a short question..
I rootet my Galaxy s8+ because i got some issues and i thaught i could solve them with root. The Problems i had are gone now but i would like to go back to stock and get my security and functionality back. In my opinion i lose more then i get with root. Some things are unstable or crashing and the speaker sound with the rom i am running is just awful.
ok lets start with my request. I need some help going back to stock. i tried it with some guides but i am not shure if i have to change my kernel first oder something like this. For example if i Flash "PDA" with odin, i dont know if my kernel is in there or in another package. Another question is if i have to use firmware for switzerland to keep all things working (i am in switzerland). i know, that i may need the right modem but i dont know about the other things..
What i need is a step by step guide wich packages i have to flash and in wich order.. if someone is interested we could write in skype or somethin like this if somebody wants a small donation for his work.
Infos you may need:
Rooting method: Odin
Kernel: NX-R17
Basebrand: G955FXXU4CRI9
Bootloader: G955XXU4CRJ5
PDA: G955FXXU4CRJ5
CSC: G955FOXM4CRJ3
Rom: Renovate ice 14.1
recovery: Team Win recovery 3.2.3-2
a knox status app shows me tha my phone rootstatus is 0x0.. i thaught thats imposible?
by the way i dont know why the other guides to unroot didnt work for me, sorry. the only thing i know, is that Odin couldnt flash and i guess there was a kernel error message.
Okay so there's a few things I need to go over for this.
The main issue I have is I'm not able to install magisk. I only want it so I can hide my root/custom ROM from pokemon go so I can still play the game. I have a Galaxy S7 UK locked to Vodafone carrier. When I was first rooting I followed a guide on tenorshare (I can't post links as I just signed up on here and don't have 10 posts. A google search of "root s7" should come up with the result from this site. It's a guide with pictures.)
I think this was my mistake though. I was dumb and didn't make a backup of my stock ROM in any way so once I installed this there wasn't really any going back.
Now you might ask, why not just download the stock ROM and flash it with Odin? Well, I looked around on sammobile, looking at Galaxy S7 G930F - my specific model number, but couldn't find a stock ROM to flash. Even the most recent one listed gave an error, then on my phone it showed the error about trying to flash a v2 bootloader to a v4 bootloader, which obviously cannot be done.
So then I bit the bullet and installed The Galaxy Project custom ROM. Everything is working completely fine apart from the aforementioned issue with Pokemon GO.
Magisk fails to install with the boot.img already patched by something, but I can't *unpatch* it because I don't have stock. I did some research and learned that you can use suhide-lite to do the same job, however it doesn't work at all even with setting Pokemon GO to be hidden away.
I just want to know how I'm supposed to go about getting magisk installed, or how to get back to stock without an actual backup. I'm new to rooting and stuff but I'm not new to tech modding, so I did a lot of research before doing all this. The sad part is I seem to have messed up even despite looking things up.
If they're necessary, my phone is currently running Android 8.0.0 Oreo even when it was on stock.

I'm assuming your UK Vodafone so www.sammobile.com /firmware or use SamFirm tool from this forum to download stock direct from Samsung servers.

I stated in OP that I already tried getting it from sammobile however it wasn't working, explained why in the OP.
Ok Batman so this is your firmware with boot loader V4 on Sammobile >>here<<
However it takes a while to download with a free account.
You can get Samfirm Tool from this thread but make sure it's version 0.3.6.zip, then read the tread on how to use it, it's easy. >>here<< Ignore the message at the top of the post about it not working etc, it still works. SamFirm is much faster then Sammobile.
I will also tell you that you can install BTU (UK Unbranded) if you don't use any Vodafone crap installed on your phone. Still be locked to Voda though. Now then there you go.
Is there apps like sgs screenbooster for better sensitivity??also who use sgs?any reccomended settings for this app??
If someone would be willing to be helpful, and help me out with one of the firmwares below, it doesn't really matter which one, both are fine, I'd really appreciate it, I kinda "bricked" my phone with the firmwares while trying to root it and flash TWRP - the same day I bought it (Yeah, I know... Varranty void, but that's just me) , and now I'm at the "An error has occured while updating the device ...", and now I desperately need a firmware to get my phone up again. I've tried downloading it over and over, but no matter what, it seems like the download fails ~1.4/1.5GB, and with a limited Download speed of around 300KB/s you can expect that ofc. Thank you in advance to anyone who could be helpful! :victory:

I don't know how to change the post's tag to resolved, but I got this fixed by turning to an alternative firmware download method called Frija
