[Resolved] Need Help - SamMobile Firmware - General Questions and Answers

If someone would be willing to be helpful, and help me out with one of the firmwares below, it doesn't really matter which one, both are fine, I'd really appreciate it, I kinda "bricked" my phone with the firmwares while trying to root it and flash TWRP - the same day I bought it (Yeah, I know... Varranty void, but that's just me) , and now I'm at the "An error has occured while updating the device ...", and now I desperately need a firmware to get my phone up again. I've tried downloading it over and over, but no matter what, it seems like the download fails ~1.4/1.5GB, and with a limited Download speed of around 300KB/s you can expect that ofc. Thank you in advance to anyone who could be helpful! :victory:

I don't know how to change the post's tag to resolved, but I got this fixed by turning to an alternative firmware download method called Frija

need the stock firmware for my sgh-t959v

i was really really stupid and decided to try and install darky's resurrected rom on my new sgh-t959v. After doing it and it not going past the 'installing csc' prompt i decided to try and mount a different pit. i got a working setup out of luck, but now my sim card doesn't work. i got a new sim card and still no signal. i only managed to write down the baseband version before messing it up like this. now that i've read that mixing a pit file from one region with a csc file from another is dangerous. i just need the stock pit csc and phone files. it's been driving me nuts because i just got this phone and all of a sudden can't use it. i've learned my lesson but i really need to fix it. i don't think darky's will work on mine since it's so new.
btw i found the source for my phone,(can't put link here because i don't have over 8 posts) my model and version are listed there. the only problem is i'm a noob at developing(getting into it) and can't compile all this stuff. is there a guide to compiling it? i was hoping to compile the source from that site and try to port it. how would i go about making the source into the pit csc and modem files?
sorry for such a ****ty problems guys. hope someone can help thanks in advance.
super buuuuump!!!
bump, i want my foooone herpaderp!
what's the difference between pit files that are 512, 803, 513? what's this number represent?
so i just tried to flash some other 'custom' rom that was perfect for my phone. i tried it with a different pit file that i thought would work. but now the device doesn't respond to anything! i turned it off and it won't turn on at all now not even to download mode. i'm freaking out what do i do!!!
welp i didn't want to wait. just to update everyone i took it to a local tech who flashed it to stock but couldn't fix the fudged bootloader. i messed it up when it failed a rom flash and i pulled it out in the middle of flashing. so i'm sending it back and getting another one by tuesday
yes, i need it too.
Same problem, anyway know where download this firmware???
No Custom ROM
A word to the wise: The Samsung sgh-t959v for t-mobile does not allow you to put a custom ROM. If anyone knows how to, please advice. I have a new sgh-t959v and don't want to make the same mistake of bricking it where "adb reboot download" command didn't even work because the phone died.

Stuck at Boot after Odin Flash

Hey guys,
I know this has been asked a lot but please help me guys.
I have a friend's Galaxy S6 here and there was the following problem with it:
A password was suddenly set and nobody knew why, she really said it came out of nowhere!
So she asked me to get her photos from the phone and reset it afterwards.
I did that on other phones before so I flashed TWRP and pulled the files with adb.
I tried to reboot after that and was stuck at the boot screen. Guys, I almost cried (I dont have much money to buy a new one).
Please, does any have an idea for me to fix this? It would be so greatly appreciated!
I tried flashing some stock firmware from stockrom.net but Odin always says FAIL!
Seriously: anybody who can solve this: I will be thankful towards you forever
Kind regards
Try flashing the stock ROM from www.sammobile.com/firmwares instead.
SOLVED! BRICKED S6 Try this!
Sorry for asking this old question so I hope I will be able to help someone looking for a solution with this answer at least.
Everybody having a problem with a bricked Samsung device - TRY THIS:
If you can still access the download mode on your device its pretty likely that this will fix the problem.
The new version of Samsung Kies (yes that cheap garbage software to put media on your device, because you are to dumb to use your fricking Windows explorer for that) is called SmartSwitch and is capable of restoring the stock firmware on your device! Not all devices are supported but it definitely worked for my S6! Download it for Windows and Mac OS:
samsung . com/us/smart-switch/ (international link)
samsung . com/de/support/smartswitch/ (This leads you to the German version, google the version for your country if necessary. you will find it)
Start the software and boot your phone to download mode, connect it to your PC and SmartSwitch should detect it. I dont exactly remember the way to restore but it was somewhat like this (the program is simple you will find it). SmartSwitch offers you to restore the phone somewhere and it gives you a screen where you can type in the model number of your device (Use the complete Model number). This screen is important since you specify which stock firmware to load on your device here! It will then give you a simple progress bar and download the firmware from Samsung and install it!
Sorry not to be able to tell you the exact way but SmartSwitch's design is simple - if you managed to brick your device with ODIN (like I did) you will find the restore option in SmartSwitch
Seriously try this before molesting your bricked device with ODIN even more. I couldnt believe that it did work since Kies was such garbage and the SmartSwitch UI looks too simple to be able to repair a damn bricked device. I couldnt believe it when my phone rebooted correctly with stock firmware on it after I had bricked it with ODIN when trying to root and backup stuff.
Hope this helps some lost souls out there. SmartSwitch made my week when I had bricked a friends device.
EDIT: I found a video in some language I dont understand; it shows the way through the GUI to the "type your model here" option

Firmware encountered a problem.......

Ok, so there was a thread on here for this issue, but it has been dead for 5 years so I hope it's ok I open this new thread.
I have been given a Samsung Tab 2 GT-P5110 by a colleague of mine. At some point in time he managed to corrupt the firmware to get the black screen of death 'firmware has encountered a problem.......'. This will not have been from flashing ROMs or attempting to root the device (he's an elderly guy, who recently asked me for help resetting his Google passwords, so rooting is well beyond his expertise). I first thought this won't be an issue, I'll hook it up to Odin, flash a recovery, stick it in download mode and then flash a new ROM...... However this failed, Odin confirming the process was unsuccessful. I understand this may be because the corruption is seated deeper than just the level of flashing a new ROM and have read flashing a new kernel may go deep enough to make progress, however, I have only ever used Odin for flashing ROMs so this is all new to me.
I would be very appreciative if someone was able to point me in the right direction, I have found some kernels to download which I think would be compatible, but I'm a little foggy on the steps I should take. Alternatively, someone may know another route to go down, I am also not afraid to open this little guy up and do some DIY surgery if needs be, after all I didn't buy the thing so I have nothing to lose.
Any suggestions would be great and if you want some more info please feel free to ask.
Thanks in advance.

flash a custom recovery, and install this, https://builds.unlegacy-android.org/aosp-4.4/espresso/ua_espresso-4.4.4-20171105172717.zip
Thanks for the reply. I have attempted to flash a recovery, however every one I've tried fails and tells me 'NAND write failed'. I tried the TWRP recovery and philztouch. You don't have a link to a recovery you think might work? I'm pretty sure I've been using recoveries that should work, but you never know.

Is this bricked

I seem to be in and endless loop of hope and despair with my Samsung Galaxy S7 - can anyone shed any light on this?
Long story short, I was on Android 8 and wanted to roll back to 7 (using a ROM I took from Sammobile) because I needed a previous configuration of Google Play Music for my Smart Watch to work. I used Odin to flash the phone and it declared the procedure as FAILED. Now I can't seem to even flash it back to version 8. It is just stuck on the below three screens, no matter what I do.
At this point I would happily just upgrade it to whatever firmware will work and not have a £500 brick on my hands!
Please note the images are at h t t p s ibb.co slash the below (sorry this forum doesn't allow me to post them as links!)

OK i've seen them, don't panic.
What region / country are you
What network are you on?
p.s. YOU CANNOT DOWN GRADE OFFICIAL FIRMWARE
I'm with O2 in the UK.
I'd be happy just to get anything installed on it at this point. At least then it's useable.
Whenever I try a new flash (even with Oreo obtained from Sammobile) it just gets nowhere. The COM shows connected (I have the USB drivers installed and have ditched Kies) and I browse to the extracted AP file then click start it either goes away indefinitely not showing failed or success or (with another AP file e.g. for older firmware) it just says Failed.
Thanks very much.

Ok you have to down load the firmware that was on the device from O2, so download O2 Oreo from sammobile or the unbranded BTU firmware and flash with Odin. This should give you access to the device but the google account needs to be bypassed and then wiped by following this method https://www.progeeksblog.com/frp-bypass-apk/
Ok I'll give that a go. Wow pretty detailed guide there. I've not heard of the frp bypass requirement. Another thing to get my head around. Why can't phones just be like PC's. Image them, clone and be done!
Thanks again will let you know how I get on.
Restoring to the BTU firmware posted here forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/how-to/galaxy-s7-flat-oreo-firmware-download-t3785309 worked! In my case I didn't even need to run the frp-bypass-apk. Turns out that my phone was restored to exactly as it was before I attempted to downgrade so I even have my data back.
Thanks so much for helping me out!
Brilliant. Now to save yourself a world of pain in future turn on OEM unlocking in development options.
Just a couple more questions if you don't mind?
1) What is OEM unlocking
2) Do you know of any way to "roll-back" my version of Google Play Music? I am currently running version 8.14.7427-1H and would love to return to an earlier one since it handles the Android Wear playlist differently.
Thanks!!

Well there's some settings on the phone itself which, when you mess up trying to flash etc makes life a whole lot easier to bring your phone back to life. A good explanation of OEM is here https://www.quora.com/Whats-an-OEM-unlock-in-Android
With regards to rolling back Play music yes you can almost always roll back an updated app either by uninstalling the update via settings>apps or finding an earlier version of the .apk file online by simply searching for it in google.
When downloading .apk files, to be able to install you have to enable "install from unknown sources" settings>security>unknown sources.
Hope this helps
Brilliant. Thanks I will give that a go.

stock firmware

hi all, ive tried hunting down for months now trying to find a download for a stock firmware for oppo find x2 neo
and have had the run around to dead ends... specially some that have offered the firmware on google drive but
when i click on it it always says user has too many visit try again later...
so i was wondering if anyone might have the stock firmware for this phone that they can send me a download link
for or advise me where i can download it even via ftp or something..
thanks all
I know which website you are talking about (where it says too much download at the same time), and I have the firmware.
But there is a problem
This phone appear to have an insane security
I mean even if you select "Unlock Bootloader", well you are gonna see the options enabled but you cannot flash any .img to the phone because ADB doesn't see the phone in the "recovery"
Also I want to warn you about something in the phone.
If you updated your phone at the time i'm posting this (CPH2009_11_F.07), and you try to flash an CPH2009_PU_11_A.15 for instance, then you may experience a pretty bad time (like bricking your phone with a bootloop problem, etc..)
So yeah i'm gonna send you the link when I can if you want
