This is a unified build for Moto X
To build CyanogenMod for yourself you can follow http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Build_for_moto_msm8960dt
If you'd rather not extract files from the latest CyanogenMod build you can add vendor.xml to your .repo/local_manifests folder.
It's been confirmed to work on both the 4.3 and 4.4 bootloaders.
Details on Installing and downloading CyanogenMod can be found here: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Moto_msm8960dt_Info
Official nightlies can be downloaded here: http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=ghost

Changelog: http://www.cmxlog.com/11/moto_msm8960dt/
Before you post a bug report:
Please ensure you have done a full wipe of data and formated system under Mounts and Storage.
If you have flashed parts for other versions you may need to do a full flash of the factory software for your model and start clean.
Do not report bugs in nightlies to jira.cyanogenmod.org
Enjoy!

Yep, unlocked boot loader. It seems to happen with all of the CM11 based ROMs on the Droid Mini.
That said, headphone audio works fine. I haven't tested bluetooth audio, but I can test that later today.
I'd be happy to run any tests, or provide logcat info if you like. Just let me know.
I am not a dev. Post logcat here. Dhacker will see it and will be able to isolate the problem.
Will this work on unlocked xt1055 US cellular CDMA version?

Codename: moto_msm8960dt
Also known as: ghost, obake-maxx
Vendor: Motorola
Release Date: 2013 Aug 23
Carrier: TMobile, International GSM, Verizon, US Cellular, Sprint
From the link in the OP it says it will: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Moto_msm8960dt_Info
Hi I'm using the new PA google camera and I found that de back camera has the CIF QVGA and QCIF resolution and front camera has 1080p resolution, this may addres the issues taking videos with the back camera.
Hope this helps to developers.
I'm using Liquid rom right now.
Videocamera fix
Hi, guys and girls. Seems like I have managed to fix video camera to recocord 1080p and 720p videos and also front video camera, wich can record up to 720p now. I was rying to make front camera record also 1080p videos as on stock ROMs it can do so, but did not find a solution at the moment.
Proof is in the screenshots.
How to;
1. Download attached media-profiles.zip and extract xml file
2. Copy to Sdcard
3. Using any root file manager (I use RootExplorer) go to /system/etc
4. Copy downloader media-profiles.xml to this location and agree with the replacement.
5. Set permissions rw--r--r--
6. Reboot
7. Enjoy fully functional AOSP camera
P.S. If anyone is familiar with gerrit and/or github, please, add this fix to msm8960dt cm source code.
P.P.S. Finaly managed to add 1080p front camera recording.

Appreciate the advice nevertheless.
Motorola driver decided to be a jerk, so the logcat took me longer than expected. This is the xt1030 Droid Mini, unlocked bootloader, running a clean install of CM11, no gapps package, as of a few days ago. Clean booted the phone, played with the volume controls, and sound ringtone selector.
The bug: No external audio at any point. Headphones work, however.

If someone takes a look, and wants further tests, please let me know. Be happy to dig into the issue.
Cheers!

Looking it over, since it seems to be horking out around here:
Code:

I've included the contents of that directory structure in case it's useful. Looks like the directory it's looking for is at:

But that's just a guess without looking directly at the code, which I may do.

Guess I found a solution for you. Open zip with CM11 nightly. Go to system and find a folder called xt1080. Open it. You will see 3 folders. Extarct them. Then using any root file manager copy files from every folder to /sytem/bin, /system/etc, /system/lib. Extracted folders have the same names. Set permissions. Reboot.

It works and can be installed from google play

Froyo only !
Plays a 720p Demo Video i have that did not play before.
Playback is okay, but it lags a bit every few seconds on the video i use to test.
EDIT : Lag is because this is a "High Profile" vid. (Blueray quality)
h264info com/clips.html <- add the dot
Used for test :
Serenity – 720p “On HD DVD” Trailer
Video Type: 1280×720 (720p), 23.967 FPS, CE-High profile (PS3 and Xbox 360 compatible)
Its experimental and not tested alot, so do a backup before you try.
This is not installable with recovery. You have to push files and folder
to /system/lib
****** EDIT *******************************
Now also the stock Camera is recording in fullscreen 848x480
Working package for recovery can be found in post #24
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11018223&postcount=24
After playing arround with build.prop and media_profiles.xml i am now also able to record video with 848x480 @8mbit @30fps using the "lgcamera" app from the market. (Selecting "MPEG4" as encoder).
I think it recorded 640x480 before regardless what you set.
you're a f*****g genius. how did you do it? would 720p recording be possible?

I have aplied the .zip with system recovery, in the option "Flash Zip" and that was ok.
But the video test of serenity, has much lag at 1,2GHz with stock player...
In milestone 2 too?
It's a "high profile 720p" file and thats too much for the defy, it seems.
Install "TubeMate" from the market, goto Settings->Maximum Resolution->select 1280x720
Then you can search for "720p" and download a video.
They play without lag and extremely crisp and nice.
You have to choose "Download" as "Watch" just opens the Youtube app.

I know that is not an update, but if you flash the zip with recovery, it puts libs in his folder.
But the advantage to play 720p videos is to see some series like Big Bang Theory without conversion... If a simple trailer 80MB is too much for defy...
This isn´t possible in droid 2 or X???
Erm, i think it will do nothing if you apply this one with recovery.
There is a recovery package of this in the development thread.

Stock Camera now patched for 848x480 Fullscreen recording !
This is my post number 10 and i hope i can continue this in the dev thread
i open a 720p thread in development section.
could you post your patched camera.apk, build.prob and the media...xml.
Still cant post in the dev thread
Anyway here is an update collection of files.
Not for recovery, i am to tired to make a package
Patched BlurCamera.apk for 848x480 fullscreen recording
remove the BlurCamera.odex if you have a non deodexed firmware !!
there is a remount script in /system/bin.
chmod 755 /system/bin/remount and you can just type
remount rw
or
remount ro
to mount the system partition writable/readonly.
BUG
Camera seems to start with QVGA and has to be switched to VGA manualy in the
settings
But VGA then shows and records as 848x480
EDIT:
Now works as it should.
Strange.
Hm, not working for me.
GB froyo.
mnt rw
then
cp all in system.zip, to /system/*
delete odex.
install lgcamera. 848x480 available in lgcamera, but app is halt, when i start record.
in stock camera, see onle VGA.
have same problem
Did you reboot?

* RK2918 FAQ
- boot.img in SDK2.0 based ROM
in (some of) SDK2.0 based ROMs, new format is used for boot.img(and recovery.img). it's almost same as standard android boot.img format. it has both kernel and ramdisk.
in general, unpackbootimg/mkbootimg can be used to unpack/repack for this format. but it doesn't work with boot.img for RK2918 tablets. Rockchip uses non-standard way to generate hash value which is stored in header of boot.img. if you flashed repacked boot.img, your tablet will go into recovery mode. it means we can't make customized boot.img(ramdisk).
but there is workaround. we can convert SDK2.0 boot.img into pre-SDK2.0 format.
Code:
$ unpackbootimg -i boot.img
$ rkcrc -k boot.img-zImage kernel.img
$ rkcrc -k boot.img-ramdisk.gz ramdisk.img
then flash kernel.img into kernel partition, and ramdisk.img into boot partition.

- no gapps
download gapps for CM7 and add files in zip into system.img
- how to use internal NAND flash as SD card?
Settings -> CyanogenMod settings -> Application -> Use internal storage -> On -> reboot
if enabled, internal NAND flash is mounted on /mnt/sdcard and SD card is mounted on /mnt/nand.
- I like portrait / my favorite portrait apps are upside down / accelerometer axes are wrong on some apps

Code:

- I want to do calibration again
delete following files if exist, reboot, run calibration app, then reboot again
Code:

Any chance of a Telechip port?

Craig CMP738a boots up and results are identical to your findings.
initial bootup.
the calibration utility hung for a few seconds and asked if it should be killed. waiting allowed the procedure to complete.
started the music app. started playing a song. no audio came from the speakers but audio counter counted up. Headphones did not have sound either.
Tried connecting to wireless, says obtaining IP address... doesnt seem to want to connect to WPA2 network of mine. but it did connect fine to my WEP network.
Trying to view the gallery program for photos is very laggy.
A few videos would play in the video program but they were all like slideshows. A few would not play at all. no audio from the videos obviously.
Phone app and Camera (crashes) app are useless on this device I have.
USB Keyboard works in the usb host port.
FAT32 Flash drive doesnt seem to mount automatic.
SDCARD doesnt seem to be recognized. (nothing in /dev?)
Very cool so far tho.
Edit: since I am using the stock kernel for this device I would think I could get the hardware working... audio... video??? or maybe I need the rockchip support libraries...
fun_ is working on audio support, but video support seems to be hard to add, any help is welcome
Hi,
I have already adapted CM7 to RK2808 on Rocktab resistive screen.
Sound works and video MP4.
If these elements can help you:
http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/14838-experimentale-cyanogen-cm7-080211/
I noticed a lot of files missing .so in the lib in your system.img.
For the sensors you can try to take those CM7 for HTC G1.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=448
And rename for RK2818.
This had worked on CM6 on APAD after disabling the rotation parameters in Menu Cyanogen.

thank you for your report! I added CMP738A to "tested" list.
in general, it should work on most RK2818 tablets. I tested ~20 eclair/froyo firmware(boot/system.img) for other tablets on my mivvy A2, and they worked well. it should be same for my CM7.

try to remove SD card for app install failure.
I can't understand "Install market/gmail: cannot open". do you know how to add files into cramfs system.img?
market is working for me. I can see non HQ video on youtube. (poor frame rate, of course)
it seems bit unstable (app died silently) than before.

"install zip", and backup/restore on kernel/boot/system are difficult.
if you are OKay only backup/restore/wipe on data/cache, I'll try to make it.
I was searching for this for quite sometime and I found this post on XDA and made it work on CM11.
Just wanted to share with whoever wanted it.
Attached is flashable zip (working for 4.4.1).
A better solution is to follow these steps in Terminal or via ADB SHELL, thanks to @ksilver89
The boolean is stored inside /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db, which you can access and modify with sqlite3 command. No framework modification required.
Code:
Code:
sqlite3 /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db
Code:
Code:
insert into system values(null, 'volume_wake_screen', '1');
Reboot and you're done.

After flashing the above zip, none of the apps are working on my nexus 4 with 4.4.2. Dialler, Messaging and even settings get force stopped. CM Version is "11-20120104-SNAPSHOT-M2-mako"

Look at the OP. I posted a better solution that will work with any version.
Also I noted on CM11 changelog that they've added the UI for toggling this boolean in the recent nightly
Thanks
Has anyone of you made this fix work? Unfortunately it does not work for me (running latest Slimkat which is a CM derivative)...
Works for me on Huawei Ascend P6. I have edited the .db file with SQLite Editor. Thanks!
Thanks for posting this, will check it out on my free time
Hello,
I have CM11 installed on my htc one s, but the front camera doesn't work in snapchat; It does work in other apps, so is this a problem related to cyanogenmod not having the htc drivers or is this snapchat's fault? More importantly, is there a fix or a snapchat replacement app of some sort which enables the front camera?
Maybe try a newer release of CM 11
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
I'm on the latest nightly and it's still broken
Same issue
My camera is stretched and sometimes freezes but only in snapchat. Any ideas?

There is a temporary fix I have been doing since very early CM11 builds.
If you copy a "camera.msm8960.so" from another ROM (I took the one from a GUMMY ROM), and paste it into system/lib/hw (delete/overwrite the old one - may be in capitals "CAMERA.MSM8960.so and not overwrite so must be deleted manually) then the front camera works fine with CM11.
I have issue with my Galaxy S4 and have always done this after installing a new nightly and it has been fine. (Posting here as I was looking for a proper solution through Google searches and saw you are suffering with the same issue)

Why don't they include this file in official cm11? is it HTC owned (not opensource) or something?

Not sure if this is still an issue for the One S, but it still is for the S4. I just did this and it worked, but I wanted to mention I had to use the camera file from a 4.1 ROM to do so. Hopefully that helps someone else.

I am having this issue as well. Is there a way you could zip up the file as I don't know how to extract the file from a different ROM. Thanks
Edit: I think it may just be a Snapchat issue, as my front camera works for the regular camera app

This is the file I use. Taken from an old nightly GUMMY ROM build for the Galaxy S4. It seems to work with every new CM11 nightly I install I so don't think it matters that the file is extracted from an older ROM.

This file works for me on my S4. I paste it into the /system/lib/hw directory after flashing the latest nightly. (you must DELETE the existing file manually as pasting this file into the directory DOES NOT delete the other file of the same name but in capital lettering)
Also, this does not a complete fix for the Snapchat camera issues. I am now able to record video with the front camera however a lot of the time it will still cause the app to freeze or camera to lock up - requiring a phone reboot. HOWEVER this is a lot better than not being able to record ANY videos at all (as it is normally with the CM11 ROMS)
EDIT: the file is extracted from an old GUMMY ROM nightly in the system/lib/hw directory. If this file doesn't work for you, you could try extract the file from other non CM based ROMS and see if if your problem is fixed.

Thanks man it really works for me after some tweaks :highfive:
I don't think you need the file "camera.msm8960.so" from another ROM .
Here is how I did it:
1) In the path system/lib/hw, there is two files "camera.MSM8960.so" (13KB) and "camera.vendor.msm8960.so" (210KB)
2) delete the file "camera.MSM8960.so", but copy its exact name with the capitals. This is important cuz I believe it is case sensitive.
3) rename "camera.vendor.msm8960.so" to "camera.MSM8960.so" which is the exact name of the deleted file
4) make sure the permissions are set as follows: "rw- r-- r--" which is short for read/write OWNER, read GROUP, read OTHER
5) open snapchat and go for video setting change qualiy to low. after that, record a video with front camera and send it to urself.
6) finally put the video quality back to standard and ENJOYYYY it should work for u.
:victory:
The focus of this thread is to get 720p playback and camcorder working for desire on Kitkat ROMs.
tytung has successfully got camcorder and 720 playback mp4 for HD2 for Ics, Jellybean and Kitkat. I have manage replicate the code and will try to get it working on desire
I don't owe a desire so will need some user to actively test the ROM and kernel that I will compile and post.
Source code I have take in from spezi git and first working on cm11 ROM then evervolv
Instructions below is taken from spezi77 thread.
Tester should know how to flash kernel or ROM
Also know how to provide kmsg or last_ksmg and logcat
Installation notes
- Rooted
- At least 512mb ext4 sd-ext partition (1024mb recommended)
- Hboot with at least 250mb system partition (If not slimmed) -> please use AlphaRev Jelly Hboot (250/5/182) for best experience
- Use a newer recovery such as 4ext (credits madmaxx82 & jmcclue) or twrp (credits Chromium)
- Full wipe recommended
- Flash ROM
- In case you use Alpha Jelly hboot (250/5/182) flash GApps -- if not then boot ROM and enable A2SD before flashing GApps
- Boot ROM and let it settle down (3-5 min)
- Enable A2SD
Code:
1) run Terminal Emulator
2) type 'su' and press enter
3) allow root access in the popup query
4) type 'a2sd install' and press enter
5) reply to questions in this order
--> y n y (dalvik to card - yes, data to card - no, reboot - yes)
6) that's it
Enable Developer Settings
--> Open up "Settings > About phone" and tapping 7 times on "Build number"
Testing Logs

25/Oct/2014 - Above link ROM an kernel boots , 720p works but camcorder doesn't work
26/Oct/2014 - Uploaded new kernel for test. Result=No tested yet See Post
Hopefully the ROM boots fine.
I made the following changes in evervolv qsd8k kernel.
1. Used older venc driver.
2. Change PMEM_ADSP size to 0x02C00000
You can find it in the attached zip on this post. Add these files if
Do the following test.
For Playback 720p
First test playback the smaller resolution video files in Gallery. Playback a smaller resolution media files (mp4) 176 x 144.
If that is successful play this file http://www.h264info.com/clips.html serenity trailer 720p resolution.
Do the following test for camcorder
Open camcorder and record. If it fails go to setting and change audio from aac to amr or vice versa. Try both audtio setting. I have disable all other not working video setting so you will see only m4v
nickleby said:
I've selected the related files to 720p playback because I don't wanna flash a whole ROM for the moment (I can't), and I can confirm that 720p playback works fine (at least under Evervolv, I'm sure it will be fine for CM too). However, I haven't tested camcoder yet, I'll try to compile the kernel right now and test. Thanks macs18max!!!
Edit: I had the chance to flash the complete ROM. 720p works fine. Camcoder using AAC or AMR with MSM_PMEM_ADSP_SIZE = 0x02C00000 doesn't work. Using MSM_PMEM_ADSP_SIZE = 0x03200000 is the same. The phone/camera app hangs after pressing the record button.

I don't use Google Drive either. When I open the link it says I need permission to access the file. There's a button to request for a permission, I've pressed it and I guess it sends you an email to aprove my request. Somewhere in Google Drive must be an option to make the file available to all public.

Did not log anything, but.
Same as above, with/without kernel files. Once record is pressed, nothing happens.
Mount command in kernel zip is missing "yaffs" in the beginning, before "MTD".
With kernel files flashed, system looks more responsive, at least for me.
Cheers!
