Possible to install custom recovery & kernel? - LG G Pro 2

Now we have a way to install single partition image by making a LGFlashTool acceptible custom TOT file. See my post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2717934
Is it possible to install an old loki-friendly aboot.img inside LG G2's old firmware to G Pro 2? Then we can have custom recovery and/or custom kernel. They are both based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip. And the aboot.img might be compatible!?

Loki was patched with 4.4.2 and I don't think that a a.boot from 4.3 will boot a 4.4.2 rom .... correct me if I am wrong

There is a discussion regarding to [DEV][KERNEL] Stock KitKat kernels patched for Old Bootloader in G2 forum. If we can do the same stock kernel patch, and if G2 JB aboot works well in G Pro 2, then we might have custom recovery and other custom kernel?!

Can you explain how to patch LG G2 kk 4.4.2 source code to work with G2 JB 4.2.2 bootloader?
And I would like to know the tech details why original KK kernel cannot be loaded by old JB bootloader? Thanks!

dear sir, has the problem been solved? With the kernel source in hand, I want to have a custom kernel too. I have try it using the TOT header file, but the boot_xxx.bin size if different, finally the phone failed in the booting verify process. So, if you have another idea, or using the Early-ADB v3 to achieve it, can you give me a deep explain on how to.

No idea, this is the radio that came with the 4.4.2 Stock Update and I flashed it over 4.4.2 AOSP. I cannot speak to its compatibility with 4.2.2 Jelly Bean ROMs, stock or otherwise.
Ok thank you

It gives you a new radio that has in theory been tested and tweaked more. In addition it should work well with the 4.4.2 ROM.

Another user reported that it works on Rayglobe which is another 4.2.2 ROM, as I understand it. You could flash it yourself and find out.

Correct, you should not need to flash this again. Unless you use the LG Support Tool to return to 4.2.2 stock (which contains the older radio) or if you flash an different radio, you should be good.
Thanks for this.

Are you using the aboot from one of the 10x builds? I am pulling the ROM down now but I am concerned that installing this will update my aboot and make it so that going back to a different kernel/ROM will be difficult. I am not all that up on LOKI so perhaps this is just a dumb post :/.
What if we are on the unrooted KitKat ota? Just flash this? Or downgrade, then flash recovery and then flash this?

when you use lg flash tool to go back to an older firmware, it replaces your aboot with that firmwares aboot. so you have nothing to worry about.

[Q] LG G2 D80020C 4.4.2 Loki or unlocked bootloader? Custom recovery?

So I recently got the Lg G2 on att and updated it to the 4.4.2 though the ota. I have wanted root since i got it and root just came out like yesterday and i got it rooted but there is not really many threads about a recovery on the ota kitkat update. I don't want to downgrade or do all that. I've been looking every day and would just like to know whenever one comes out for the Att Lg g2 d80020c 4.4.2 rooted no recovery. Oh and i didn't root or anything before i took the ota. And if there is a thread already just let me know
Loki will not work with 4.4.2 since LG closed the loophole. The only way to install recovery is to revert back to 4.2.2, root and install recovery then you can flash 4.4.2 stock roms using TWRP or CWM.
We will have to wait for Loki update or patches for 4.4.2 bootloader once the exploit is found.

I'm interested in running a custom Rom on my mpcs LG f6 (ms500). I'm a part timer at this, my understanding of code is devastatingly deficient.
I have a an l9 and another f6 that won't even turn on and I'm wondering where, even, to begin.
All are mpcs.
All three, including the one I'm writing this on presently, were/are rooted.
An update took out the non-working f6, and the l9 was my bad.
I'm now on a rooted f6 running battery booster pro, overclocked with freedom kernal, with roehsoft ram expander doubling my ram to 1608.
I realize my circumstances are all over the place, but, if anyone has the genuine benevolence to help me where they can; my gratitude will be unquantifiable.

I would like to add , if you want to be rooted make sure after installing KitKat stock to root and then to install a custom stock based Rom like Cloudy or any of the stock based Roms here in XDA, if you install all the updates for lollipop you Won't be able to root and you'll have to go back to KitKat to root. I talk from experience.

It will be much easier to flash one of these than to do the full stock restore back to kitkat

[emoji52] that's because the AT&T model is TOT only. And you must flash KitKat and OTA update to MM with an AT&T or AT&T prepaid sim. It's brought up here at least once a week. The newest firmware possible to flash is KitKat sadly.

You would follow my LG G3 back to stock guide. And use flashtool to flash it in download mode. You are using the phone on AT&T correct ?
What rom where you running before? If cm or something not based on the D850 you'll first need to flash a rom based on the D850 to avoid any issues.
