[Murray's M8MOD]PowerSave QST, Mobile Hotspot, Minor Quick Settings and more - Verizon HTC One (M8)

Update! I've gone ahead and updated the mod for the VzW m8 1.55 update. I also removed the wifi nag some people have asked for.
Please make sure if you've updated to 1.55 and flashed the previous mod you flash the update here!
What this mod DOES:
- Adds the power save quick setting tile NOTE! Please make sure you have enabled the power save feature first. Described here
- Adds the screenshot quick setting tile
- Enables mobile hotspot without carrier provisioning
- Removes Wifi Nag in notification panel
- *Optional* Adds the minor quick settings panel to the notification shade (see screenshot)
This will probably only work for those who are running stock roms!
PS this should work with skyfall as well since its based off the stock rom. -NOT CONFIRMED
I am not responsible if this mod bricks or otherwise ruins your phone. Use at your own risk!

1) Download Murray's M8Mod
2) Flash zip with favorite recovery
3) Wipe cache and dalvik
4) Reboot
5) Profit!
I have also made another Mod that now adds the minor QST to the notifiction panel as well. The first 5 panels form the QST will show here
1) Download Murray's M8Mod with Minor QS
2) Flash zip with favorite recovery
3) Wipe cache and dalvik
4) Reboot
5) Profit!

Thank you! ?

FYI: I am on skyfall 1.3 odex. I installed the zip. It gave me the toggles for screenshots and power saver, but no a advanced power menu when holding the power button. It was worth a try.

Totally off topic but did anyone else think Seaquest DSV when they read the title Powersave QST or am I the only one.

UPDATE!
Added minor quick settings to mod as optional download to OP. Im thinking about adding extreme power saver and extended reboot options to this mod as well. Let me know if anyone is interested!

Extended reboot would be great

Others have had issues entering into network settings in the past... with that said, something similar happened to me on alpha 4 (had no data on initial install) so I just changed preferred network in network settings (phone info app won't work). I would try to toggle from settings if it's already broke and see what happens... if not, go back to a ROM with working 4g, make sure your in lte mode and wipe and reflash miui

ya tried it all and I ended up even using odin to go back completely stock. still only had 3g. went to verizon and they said i had a bad sim card and they switched that and still no go so they gave me a new phone. and now it is working the tech said my antenna must have shorted out and that he had never seen that before. PS all was good and i had 4g on this rom until i started playing with the data settings. i wish i could tell you guys what i did but i really dont know which setting it was.
This is great, I have been waiting to try MIUI on my S3 for a while now.
^^ same, i'm really looking forward to some MIUI again. It was a life saver on the og Dinc, i'm sure it'll be nice on the s3
Backing up current rom now to test this out! Looking forward it and seeing everyones feedback!
So far, I'm noticing that gallery and messaging app are fcing when you back out. They seem to function properly, tested mms/sms successfully, but when you back out to close, the apps crash. Anyone else getting this? I might try to fix permissions and see what happens.

yea got same thing man
This morning i was so happy because i love miui. So i flash this rom and after boot i noticed my phone don't have signal, i try to reflash (wipe system, data and cache), after boot still no signal.
I restore my backoff (synergy), and after boot "surprise" my phone still no signal..
After one hour playing, wiping, flashing, finally i decided to flash stock Odin files, after boot still no signal so i press #2767*3855# i read this code wipe everything on the internal sd and set the phone back to factory restore.
So finally i have my signal and data back in service.
Now i scare to try again this rom.

This is a BETA test!
A lot of people volunteered to test the ROM so I figured I would just make it a public beta so every can help if they choose!
I feel strongly that the ROM is solid as I tested it on my AT&T variant but there are things I simply cannot test (for obvious reasons)!
Please make sure you are on the LATEST version of TWRP and you are familiar with going back to stock before you download!
Make a TWRP back up of your current configuration before flashing!
You may report bugs / issues or request help in this thread or on my website HERE!
Do a "Factory Reset" in TWRP before installing! This is imperative for testing purposes!
Once again... This is beta. I am putting up on the internet in hopes that people will download and help find any bugs, if they exist. Although I doubt this will ruin your phone there may be little unseen issues.
Please leave all feedback in a CLEAR CONCISE manner.
Thank you for testing.

@Techinstein, can I dirty flash from AOKP v2.60 to this ROM or do I need to do a clean install? If I understand correctly, both ROMs are AOKP based, so I think it would be OK, just wanted to make sure.

You might be able to but just don't report any "bugs" that occur. I personally don't know why people dirty flash anything.

How does one remove the notifications from showing on the lockscreen? Great ROM by the way!

Yes as @timmaaa said if bugs occur when dirty flashing please try a full wipe and re flash be cause dirty flashing from switching different roms could cause bugs but dirty flashing from the same rom to its update is fine.
@oranget thanks glad you like it!
@cbasse thanks also the lockscreen like completely remove notifications? you can disable notifications for certain apps by going into settings-->apps --> tap the app/apps you want --> uncheck notifcations
@Phreshlatinstyle try downloading and flashing the SU by Chainfire google chainfire su xda and you should see it. Download and flash that. Then install Viper4Android audio and it will work. Most kitkat roms need this for some reason
Dang techinstein..you are a mad wizard with these roms. Been missing the ice cold version since my days with my old inspire HD..glad to see you revived it! It has been working flawlessly.. Awesome job!

The only problem with that is that it will remove notifications from that app altogether, not just from the lockscreen.

Thanks for the info timmaaa, Techinstein. I don't know about you, but I find backing up and restoring all my apps and app data to be a major pain. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if it can be avoided, it's unnecessary wear and tear on the /data partition.
I understand the need for full wipes, I'm just saying I prefer to avoid them when possible, save some time.
My phone under battery stats is showing the phone awake constantly. Never sleeps on kk ROMs. Is this a known problem?

Edit: figured out the problem.

That's what I was thinking as well. I'm hoping to just turn off the lockscreen notifications. With so many options, I'm guessing the option to do so might be there...somewhere. I'll keep looking!

I think what you're seeing is the DashClock widget for Daydream. You should be able to disable that under Display settings.

No, I've never touched the Daydream settings, and just to be sure i went and disabled it and, sure enough, it's still there. Here's what I'm talking about - the two notifications middle right. Kinda looks like Halo, but that's turned off as well...

Are your active notifications turned on? If so, turn them off, see if they go away.

I've been running this all day, sent 62 messages, have had tremendous battery life, and not a single FC. I don't use active display, but iirc it is currently broken.

Extreme PowerSaving Mode UPDATED FOR NEW OTA

just finished getting this working on our VZW flavor. Original Post was from jkt97401 in the Sprint thread,
Must be S-Off http://firewater-soff.com/
Flash with CWM CWM VZW M8
Or TWRP
flash and enjoy the EXTREME POWER SAVER mode
Extreme_PS_1.12.605.11_VZW.mms.zip - 9.55 MB
Updated Extreme Power Saving mode for the OTA update of 1.55.605.2
Extreme_PS_1.55.605.2_VZW.wsms.zip - 9.55 MB
Just a side note, I have already done the mod on my personal phone to enable normal power saving mode, this "may" be necessary, however since I'm not planning on wiping my phone to test. "IF" after flashing this you do not see the options under /settings / power you may want to do that mod here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701909
Very nice think it be Kool to flash using TWRP?

Great, thanks for the response. One other question, do you now have both of the power saving options?

Would it be possible to build the regular power saver mod into this so we don't have to edit a file to get it?

i just saw that, the ActivityManager is denying permission to the com.htc.powersavinglauncher to access com.htc.sense.mms.. not sure why yet, still looking thru the log
Edit: found the propblem for MMS uploading fix now;
the MMS.apk for 1.12.605.11 does not have the added permisions in the manifest for the new com.htc.powersavinglauncher.. fix in OP
or here Extreme_PS_1.12.605.11_VZW.mms.zip - 9.55 MB
It is doing android upgrading for like 20 minutes now. It finished and did the same thing. Settings force Closed.
