The problem is on configuration of the new effect, you can't add the sound i think because is configured to use the first sound effect, the ripple. But is possible too that it read the first because don't find the third... So, you can make a try pushing the same original S5 file on the same folder on S4 then reboot. If it don't work, if you don't think about it you can replace the first (ripple) with the new one, however i please you to upload here the new sound effects! Let we know

Got the same phone as you and have that issue too.
Same issue, it won't let me set the shutter off.
Have the same issue on my end, Aussie Vodafone Branded Firmware
I disabled that sound in Wanam Exposed. but sometimes it's still happened
no ideas

Shutter sound option is missing in my Note 3 (9005, not from carrier), but shutter sound is automatically suppressed when I set my phone to Silent mode.
I posted a fix for the camera shutter sound problem in the QA, Help and Troubleshooting section. I tried everything under the sun and this was the only thing that worked. Give it a try.

Shutter sound option finally appear after i replace others.xml with one from this forum.
(Edit original file with adding feature tag won't help)
Thanks a lot !!!
Turn down volume?
I am not sure why we need this mod. I turned my volume down to zero and all sounds including the camera shutter where muted. Unless I am missing something here?

We need this mod because turning down the volume doesn't mute the camera for Aussie Note 3s. Some other regions are also reporting the same. Great that it works for you mate but not all of is are so fortunate
For me the most important mods are the exit button from browser and the symbols on the keyboard

Ah.. sorry I guess it must be against some sort of privacy law in Australia.
What about just removing the relevant sound file from /system/media/UI ? It's what I have done in the past. Or are you saying you would like the option to have the sound available if you need it?
Is there any way to make a bootanimation landscape and with sound ? I have tried and tried to figure it out and can't get it to do either. Well in lollipop at least. I did have cloudy with a bootanimation but not landscape and it had sound. I am completely stumped. I have a certain theme I am doing with my device and to have the boot animation to be landscape and with sound would complete my project. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can't recall if I've installed a custom boot anim in L yet... I think I have. I hope I get your question.
But just create the animation content (foreground) rotated 90 degrees (landscape for the foreground), leaving the background OEM (height and width). It should run perfectly.
The sound file is a separate sound file (ogg)

How do you rotate it ? Do you do it within the zip ?

Effectively you are creating an animated 'gif', in a manner. If I take Photoshop as the example:
check out this as an example.
http://www.online-tech-tips.com/computer-tips/create-animated-gifs-images-using-photoshop-cs6/ or an editor of your choice.
and this guys tutorial
http://forums.androidcentral.com/ac...ions-collection-tutorial-updated-10-19-a.html
You will create you background at the resolution (1080 W x 1920 H shutdown animation, boot animation full HD 1440 W x 2560 H are common resolutions for the G3) you wish for the animation, say solid black or what ever.
If you fully create your own, you will first set up the resolution and make your background color, then rotate the base image. Then create layers for each frame/cell of your animation. As you already rotated you base image to landscape, your layers will also be in landscape. Then copy each cell into a layer.
Create the animation, save each frame out as a jpg, create the desc.txt file, and zip it up, install (renaming your OEM animation to save them, and set permissions 644.
Following the guys tutorial, you can download animations, and deconstruct them, using parts as you wish.
Good luck.
I'm making my own Mortal kombat bootamimation from new game coming out. I have it full screen with a boot animation tool I found but can get poweron.ogg to play sound upon boot on lollipop candy5 ... Placed it in system/media/audio/ui but it is a no go.... With so7nd it would be soooo sick.
But I'll check out the links you gave me so maybe I get get it I'm landscaped instead of this full screen portrait cause it does look a little wonky

Hello guys and girls! This tutorial is for those who thinks the P2 has insufficient audio while wearing headphones. Note that I'm not responsible for any damage to your phone or your hearing. Just backup the files and you should be good if you accidentally manage to screw up!
[1] First step is to download a root browser (I used Solid Explorer).
[2] Navigate to /system/etc
[3] Find the file called Mixer_Paths_MTP.xml
[4] Backup the Mixer_Paths_MTP.xml so if you screw up it's just restoring the old file.
[5] Open the file using a xml editor (I used Solid Explorer's own xml editor, this is because Quickedit wouldn't let the values stay after rebooting).
[6] Navigate in the xml document and find the following values= "HPHL Volume", "HPHR Volume", "RX1 Digital Volume", "RX2 Digital Volume", "EAR PA GAIN" (The one without the 1P5 in it) and "RX3 Digital Volume" and increase the values to your liking.
[7] Reboot and enjoy your boosted volume
Optional; Do the same procedure to the file called Mixer_Paths.xml if it doesn't work solely editing Mixer_Paths_MTP.xml
thanks, will let you know once I've tried it. Its on the way currently!

I made a thread earlier about Viper4Android being insufficient in boosting the volume. Hence this guide allows you to boost your sound even further. ?
Thanks for the info.
Or just install Kodi and play your media through that,it has a built in software amplifier

RX1 Digital Volume, RX2 Digital Volume, RX3 Digital Volume all which I believe are set to 83 from the beginning and EAR PA GAIN which I believe is set to POS_6_DB from the beginning My personal setting is set to RX1, RX2, RX3 = 93 and POS_15_DB
Does this work even when one uses headphone in conversation to hear the other person? I mean using an headset with headphones and microphone.
is this working after resetting the phone ?
or u should do it again ?
Well, for me it acutally doesn't work at all @Stock deodexed ROM (s244). Changing any values the aforementioned XML causes the phone to not give me any sound at all - even after rebooting.
Changing the values back doesn't help either, the only way to reset the problem is to reflash or to replace the file with the backed up version. Seems rather strange, but well.
Phone has to be rooted in order so make changes in the .xml file, right?
Yes, because you can't edit the file without root access. You can open and read it, but editing is impossible.
hi man,How to increase Ringtone volume(Speaker volume)?
my phone is China Mobile N2,cpu is Qualcomm 625,
/etc/mixer_paths.xml,
mixer_paths_mtp.xml,
mixer_paths_qrd_sku3(h,hf,i,m,n).xml,
mixer_paths_skuk.xml,
mixer_paths_wcd9306(9326,9330,9335).xml
Which file should I modify?
and What data to modify?
Please give me some guidance if you have time, thanks
OK, so one thing I did notice while testing the volume boost (which works fine on Lineage OS) is that the noise floor rises significantly when boosting the volume.
Listening with bigger headphones like my DT880s is possible then, yes, but you notice that the sound lacks body and depth, the amp in the P2 just isn't powerful enough to drive them adequately. I'm usually not someone who believes in audio voodoo, but it is really noticeable here.
And then, In-ears just sound awful because the noisefloor is constantly hearable.
So, in the end I reverted back to the normal state because I listen to In ears way more and the disadvantages outweigh the advantages here IMHO.
It seems nothing comes without a price
Easy way
Flash @Wonder Wicked Witch sound mod
Go to the viper app
Then extra gain enable and do max gain to max
EZ PZ LEMON SQUEEZEE
Need the mixer_paths_mtp.xml file
Well after trying all you said it stop giving sound at all! So because I am fool I didn't back it up and now I need someone to give me a copy of it's possible! And I will be very grateful!

MIUI 10 Sounds ChangerAt the MIUI 10 launch event Xiaomi said that MIUI 10 is all about sounds. But after using MIUI 10 for some days I think that most of the UI sounds of MIUI 10 (charger connect/disconnect, lock/unlock, etc.) are unpleasant and they were way better in MIUI 9. I personally hate the delete sound from MIUI 10.
So I made this Magisk module that changes the unpleasant MIUI 10 UI sounds to the great MIUI 9 sounds systemlessly.
Changes Made :-
Lock/Unlock sound sounds are changed to MIUI 9 default.
Charger connect/disconnect sounds are different now, but they are from MIUI 10.
SMS delivered sound is shorter and more easy on the ear when you send one SMS after another.
Low battery sound is changed to a pleasant one.
Delete sound is changed to Windows 10's empty recycle bin sound.
Requirements:-
I have tested this module on Redmi Note 5 Pro Indian version Running MIUI 10 Global 8.6.14 Beta (8.1.0 Oreo), but it should work on other MIUI 10 ROM's too. You just need to flash this .zip via Magisk directly.
Future Updates:-
Interested persons can test this module and tell me if it works in their device/ROM or not.
I will update this module if I come across any more annoying sounds in MIUI 10.
Suggestions are appreciated for changing any UI sounds to anything else or if you don't like my choise of new sounds (everyone definitely has their own taste of sounds). Tell me which sound you hate or need me to change and I will try to change that and update the module if you guys want.
I will upload this module to Magisk Repo whenever I get time.
You can also change the sounds yourself by unpacking the module.zip file using any app like WinRAR/WinZip and changing the existing audio file for specific sounds from the directory system/media/audio/ui/ to what you desire. You can even change the sounds which I haven't changed by placing the audio file you want to change in the system/media/audio/ui/ directory.
You just need to remember that the new audio file's name should be same as the one you want to replace from that directory.
The audio files should only be in .ogg format.
You have to repack the files as they are after replacing/adding files without any compression and flash it from magisk.
Hit the thanks button if you appreciate my work.
rock solid on my mi 6x with miui 10 :-bd
in case, you (or anybody else) would like the "muted delete" version;
I've attached mine (actually I just replaced the "Delete.ogg" file)
oh, if you find my mod version is disturbing your thread...
just let me know, I'll remove my modded version
