Hi,
I own a ZTE v970m (duh) and I am running superdragonpt's [WIP] [JB 4.2.2] ZTE v970/v970m (MT6577) ROM.
I was running bgcngm's ROM before I flashed this one.
This has happened before, but after hours of searching the web I could not find a answer, so here I am.
With some ROMs I've flashed (including the current one) my phone somehow stops shutting down automatically when the battery reaches <1% (btw I still get the Low Battery warning at 15%), what happens is that, when it runs empty, suffers a hard shutdown (duh) and when I put it charging and I try to turn it on (even hours of charging later) I get a black screen (attachment) with a battery icon, some green bars and a hourglass. And a Bolt (no pun intended)
When this happens I usually lose my phone for 1-3 days, so if anyone could help, I'd be greatly appreciated.
PS: I really wanna stay with this ROM, so I'm kinda hoping for a fix/another 4.2 ROM for this phone.
PSS: Just remembered the red notification light switches on/off from time to time 30s-1m(maybe)
Sorry for the pic. quality :c
Thanks.
[Forgot to Mention]
I'm using the stock kernel (probably :B).
Was going to flash this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2698984 but ran out of juice 1st.
Phone is charging since the 1st post, waiting for it to come back to life, no SIM nor SD inserted just because. Also if you know how to skip this battery icon charging stuff (or make it take less time) I'd be thankful.
So if any of you needs more info, just ask.
And, hopefully I have put this on the correct forum :fingers-crossed:
-waiting on replies-
Thanks,
UPDATE
Finally got it to boot! :victory:
Holded POWER + VOL DOWN for a century and got to the factory mode screen -> which looked like this (1.jpg)
After failing to read :silly: I found this (translation credits to: CarriePW):
1. factory mode
2. complete test
3. single ** test (not clear)
4. test report
5. clear.mmc
6. version information
7. reboot the phone
So, I'll try to flash the kernel now, and see if the problem remains
Pending Questions:
Is there any other 4.2 Android ROM for this phone (that's not MIUI or LewaOS)? Or a fix for this one?
To anyone that flashed this ROM, did this ever happened to you?
Could it be the kernels fault? (In all of the ROMs I've ever flashed, I never did touch the kernel, so..)
Can I flash another factory mode? (In a language I can understand '-')
And, if I'm being a noob, please take the time to kindly reprehend me
Thanks,
BUMP(?)
Same problem yesterday..
Thinking of going back to the (rooted) stock ROM.. (Opinions?)
A [Q]: If I choose "wipe battery stats" on my CWM-based recovery, could it help?
PS: Using bgcngm's [4.1.1] 1.3MOD ROM now.. with superdragonpt's kernel.
BUMP
A little help here? :/

Hello to everyone and respect to all you developers for your hard work!
as you can see i'm noob but i'll try not to be too noobish.
here's the situation.. now, i have hephappy's CM9 bluepill rom installed in my lg p500 and it works just perfect (i mean it,just perfect),
and before that i have flashed custom rom's couple of times with success but once when i tried to boot into emergency mode (vol down+back+power) after that i couldn't get rid of that yellow message every time i restarted or turn on my phone till today.
so, now i'm living with that issue, but it bothers me,i can't understand why yellow emergency screen is showing EVERY time i reboot my mobile.
then i find out that the only way to avoid that is pulling battery out and wait for at least 5 minutes and then switch on (then it's ok - LG logo and blah blah).
but when i try to turn it on for less than 5 mins, emergeny mode will be showing everytime i switched mobile on.
so, i don't have a clue or answer what it could be. i tried to flash stock firmware through KDZ and actually everything seems ok and everything works just fine but that yellow screen still spy on me.
as i said, everything works perfect but when battery is drained or i wanna reboot my mobile i have emergency mode shown,so i must repeat above procedure with pulling out battery for 5 mins everytime.
i hope i didn't complicate this
Try to change RADIO (BASEBAND),maybe it might help you!

yes pal. everything i can remember including booting into recovery with clockworkmod, wiping all data, cache, update with kdz, then root, flash new rom...and everytime everything goes like a glowe, everything is stable, with no errors.
i suppose i'm one of the luckiest lg p500 users when it's about good, stable device, which could be overclocked or tweaked without kernel panic, errors, etc (i heard that differences between same devices can vary).
BUT after all that i have that same issue with yellow emergency mode.
finally, i suppose that yellow screen is the price i must pay at the cost of good stability and great performance
did you try flashing gb stock rom by lgmdp?

If you can get into yellow screen your ok
Last resort use kdz just don't take out battery or disconnect and you should be fine

I heard about lgmdp, but i didn't found myself interested enough to try it
Because i actualy didn't had any issues excep that yellow screen.so you think it could be helpful?
@darkknight:
It is the only way i can avoid yellow screen by pulling out battery for 5 mins.
I know that my prob is unusal but now i have a lot of apps installed linked with link2sd,so i should find some way to safely backup all that stuff and try to do smtg.

I didnt get the method of flashing rom.. what you said above!!
You root again after updating from kdz.. you have gone wrong somewhere thats why you
get emergency mode everytime you restart.
I would suggest.. clear all the links.. make a nandroid backup. Dont use kdz as its not
required. Go into recovery.. clean everything (specially boot) and flash any rom and see if the problem persists.
which rom and which recovery maybe you can try and change the recovery. I wont reccomend kdz because i flashed it 10-12 times but after that i bricked my phone 2 times while flashing with kdz.
Here it is..
I had official gingerbread used when i found out that cm9 ics was out.then i have wait for stable cm9 rom, till hephappy's premature version.
So,i decided to flash premature,so here is a short procedure..
I don't have exact rooting/flashing guide link right now but i found it on xda forums for p500.
Downloaded short fuse, adb, etc and root via usb & command prompt..everything was ok,device sucesfully rooted,i got superuser.
Next step i installed rom manager from google play and follow flash instructions from xda including nandroid backup, booting to recovery, wiping data, dalvik, battery, everything that could be wiped..then installed premature, gapps, everything goes just fine.
I have been using premature till bluepill cames out.
just before flashing new rom i decided to hard reset via vol up+home+power, but i accidently entered into emergency mode by pressing vol down+back+power instead and after that yellow showing i have issue with it.
Downloaded then stock ginger rom from xda sites (20g),installed via kdz, everything flows fine, rooted againg with same procedure, flashed bluepill rom too with same procedure and still having that yellow emergency mode issue.
I think i made it much more clear

hi i have a samsung captivate i897. i bought it sim free from the states (u'm in uk) rooted running cyanogen mod & miui. i've had it 8months and its been perfect.
i'm no tech guru so i've never done anything else to the phone since i got it.
recently i hada problem with it forcing close on nearly application (see thread here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1936862) but i did a little clean up and uninstalled some apps to free up space and that seemed to help for 13 days.
today i powered it on and browser forced close so i switched if off but when i switched it on again it's now stuck in (i think its called) boot loop - i get the "samsung galaxy s" animation and cyanogen mod then i usually have one that says "xiaomi" and a little music sound play. its this one that keeps looping. so instead of getting the xiaomi animation & music once then it going to the lock/enter pin screen, it just continues to repeat.
i have no idea what to do.
i tried to long press power key but nothing happens.
really hope someone can help. i appreciate any help given but please bear in mind i'm a TOTAL NOOB at this kind of stuff so try to explain things as much as possible for me.
thanks.

Yes, you are stuck in a bootloop. Just boot into recovery and do a clean install.
Download TWRP recovery for your handset. then install using still recovery mode.
TWRP installing using current recovery mode
Installation methord:-
-use Your current recovery.
-update zip file(TWRP Recovery) from sdcard.
-ok
-Reboot your mobile.
-Then install your custom rom using latest recover mode (TWRP Recovery).

A custom recovery is quite likely already installed. Just do the key combination at boot (for your device) to boot into recovery mode. You'd only need that if you want to change the current recovery.

+1. I have a HTC One X that was stuck in bootloop a couple of days ago. I think I flashed some wrong files which caused this issue. I then followed the steps in the Android Revolution HD ROM thread and voila! - had a clean install running smoother than ever! I didn't mind losing all of my data (since everything was already backed up on my PC).
Just do a clean install and your phone will work perfectly fine.
I'd suggest you to start your phone in recovery mode and re-install the software (if you cannot backup your files).

I flashed the JB ROM on my Tab 7 Plus. After the "succeess" of the flashing as said by Odin v1.85, I tried to turn on the device, but it didn't. I tried to access download mode or recovery mode but it didn't work either. I tried to hold the volume down button and connect the cable to the tablet. That opened the download mode but the screen was "flashing". The rate at which the screen "flashes" keeps increasing until it becomes very fast and the device turns off. I tried to flash a ROM, but Unfortunately it turns off fast that there will be no time for the flashing process to continue.
Any idea what should I do?
what model device do you have and what exact ROM did you flash? and which ROM did you have before flashing.
If you say I dont know to any of these.....

My Device is GT-P6200 and I got the GT-P6200 JB ROM for it.
______________
I left my device to charge all night. When I woke up I tried to see if the 'flashing' of the screen still occurs, but it didn't happen. I think I can flash a ROM now
I tried to flash the ROM again and it worked, luckily it was not a hard brick. Problem solved. It is weird that the flashing didn't succeed the previous time. Maybe the battery level was low (about 20%) when I flashed the ROM the previous time, can this be the problem?
yes, also a faulty or non-OEM cable would be the culprit.

yess. flashing(blinking) screen is how download mode tells you that your battery is low. probably less than 10% since it even turned off by itself.
This Happend To me and I got it BACK
Hello... I totally understand your frustration... This exact same thing happened to me after my battery went dead just after I installed JB...
well here is the kick and it's kind of tricky...
If you want you can call me and I can tell you the instructions, it's complicated but if you follow the steps it will work...
I can also take the time to write it down, but i'm bad a typing.
let me know if you are interested...
Sorry for the late reply. It was fixed after less than a day from starting this thread.

Hello all,
So I'm getting desperate.
I've tried everything I can think of but I'm positive my Infuse is dying. I've reset it to factory, rooted it to remove junk apps, flashed a custom rom and kernel, etc, etc. The problem is every few hours or days it will simply stop responding. I can hear the beep when I go to unlock it or turn an alarm off but the screen stays blank and the only way I've found to fix it is to remove the battery and reboot (especially annoyng if I'm using it as an alarm clock and have to remove my case, take the back off and remove the battery to stop the alarm.
Anyone have any ideas?

not enough info.
if you post questions..include the rom, the history, the build, the modem etc
you may be getting the infamous SOD (screen of death) - some app or kernel conflict. Touch response will stop. If you hold the power putton for 20-30 sec, the device will reboot without battery pull.
possible solution: find conflicting app or kernel
use different rom + kernel
use stock gb
use stock froyo
Oh I thought I mentioned. It's a stock rom ( that I rooted with one of the one click tools or Goomanager I'd have to check which) I have CWM recovery 2.5.1.3 Voodoo lagfix installed but everything else is stock but for the root
Either way the only way to get out of these freezes is to take the battery out. Holding the power button down does squat (believe me I've tried all the usual tricks)
Modem wise I can't remember and will have to see if I can find it tommorrow usingthe one click tool it's a USA phone on AT&T if that helps,

Running stock with voodoo. .. if you get sod, it could be from voodoo mismatch.
You can try:
Back up your info
Find voodoo folder in sdcard..delete
Under settings/privacy.. factory reset.
Go to download mode
Odin or heimdall back to stock with repartition
Run as stock unrooted for a few days to see if anything happens
Restore nothing...
If you still see it... it may be hardware
If you don't see it, it's something you installed or restore or file mismatch
You didn't mention but I'll add that you shouldn't add any tweaks. . They can destabilize the os
Hello guys and sorry for my english.
I flashed my phone. Since flash it will not boot.
Used software: cwm 4.0.0.1 and avatar-beta_3.1-.
After the first start, I can only see the avatar mask animation (for hours). If I disconnect the power cord, and wait until the battery drops below 12%. Surprise...android start with this message, "the battery is almost empty".
Yes, i have only one way to start my phone. Waiting for battery drop under 12%....
The standart ROM I can not flash because ODIN dont detect my phone in download mode more. I dont know why. Before flash it works finde with ODIN.
If some one have any Ideas to help me.... pls tell
