Likely a dumb question, but when I receive a phone call, the number is in a format like xxx-xxx-xxx
I would like to have the format from the Netherlands.
Using google I was not able to find the correct solution.
The language settings are already set to Dutch.
Is there another way to change the phone number format ?
To be sure that the issue was with the phone, I did a full stock restore.
So the first thing I did after the restore was make a call but still the same number format.
Does anybody have a clue where I can find a solution for this?
Found out that the problem is caused because of missing the prefix.
Can someone help me in getting this problem fixed?
Thanks.
Today I exchanged my SIM with another phone and it turned out that the missing prefix problem moved to the other phone.
So making it clear that the issue is not the MotoG but SIM related. Another SIM in my phone shows a correct prefix behaviour.
Contacted my telcom (Tele2 Netherlands) provider and they mentioned that some people are facing this issue. The problem is addressed and will hopely be solved quickly.
I have the same issue. Any update?

Hey all,
Not sure if anyone has run into this, or has an idea on it so I figured this would be a good place to ask.
I have a G1 with JFv1.31 on it, and recently ported a number over to replace the number I had on the phone. After a few days, inbound calls and texts are correctly going to the phone at the new number, and outbound texts and calls show the new number correctly in the from/CID.
However, in Settings -> About phone -> Status, the old number is still shown under "Phone number". After doing some reading, this is the number that's used to auto login to T-Mobile hotspots, and will cause issues still showing the old number there. As far as I've read, this is generally changed by an OTA from T-Mobile, which I imagine won't work on my rooted G1.
I've tried wiping the phone, but the old number is still there. If this can be changed via an OTA update, I would imagine it's possible to change myself since I have root access - the only question is where and how? Has anyone ran into this or came across where this data is kept?
Any help's appreciated.
Thanks,
-Dan

I ran into this myself, but I'm not sure how to change it on the g1 itself. I just threw it in my old razr to change it

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately I had switched from Verizon to T-Mobile to get the G1, so I don't have any other phones that use SIM cards. Were you able to make the change on your Razr yourself after switching the SIM or did you have T-Mobile send an update to change it?
Thanks,

I was able to do it myself. There's a way to change it lurking somewhere in the settings on the razr. I couldn't tell you where for the life of me though. It took me a little bit to find it when I tried.
Hello,
My problem started after visiting china, after which the text in my dialing application (in HTC diamond) started appearing broken - boxes instead of numbers and weird characters instead of some letters. The IT couldn't fix it and I expected to get new phone soon so I learned to live with it and didn't really try to fix it too hard.
However, after moving my SIM to brand new TD2 today the problem remains.
Apparently it must be linked with the SIM or exchange server since that is what connects those phones. SIM memory appears empty in SIMMgr.
Anyone has any idea how to fix it?
thanks
Jan
sorry for bumpung the thread, but does anyone have any idea?
UPDATED
I´ve just been using the HTC ONE X for about 4 days and I´ve been receiving hundreds of repeated msgs from my carrier. They say "Vivo RJ 21" (Vivo is the carrier, RJ stands for Rio de Janeiro...the city, and 21 is the area code for Rio de Janeiro). I´ve already tried several factory resets with no luck. I´ve also tried a micro sim card from a different carrier and I kept receiving the same msg (except for the carrier name). I´ve received other regular msgs from my carrier and from other people that were not repeated. It´s just this one.
What are my options here????
Do you still have the same number ported over? If so then maybe it might be a glitch in there system. If not then it might be spam from the poor person before you. Either way either get a block on that or call carrier to stop it.
The worst part is that I cannot even block this number because whenever I try to add the number to the Mr.Number app it tells me to add a valid number. The number is only 2 digits...it´s 50
Looks like it would be best to either call them or go in store and ask them to test the phone. Sounds more like a software hiccup, but who know? Hope you don't have to receive that many texts tomorrow
But do you guys think there is a chance this could be phone related?
I might just try to get a micro-sim to sim card adapter and test it another phone to see if it still happens.
Its a broadcast message
U can stop it in message setting
It will not harm u
Press thanks
Or u can give me ur one x as a gift
How do I stop that in settings? I´ve tried everything and I don´t think it´s that simple.
It must be getting close to 200 messages.
Just go to your carrier already! Or if nothing works, then do a barrel roll~
Don´t you think I would have gone to the carrier if it wasn´t closed during the weekends! I´ve already called them 3 times and they did different things. The last thing they did I was supposed to wait 24h.
What is a barrel roll?
Can you remove the SIM and use the phone without it? If not then try finding some other app that blocks numbers... maybe one that supports blocking operator numbers?
as said before carrier messages can be blocked...I'm assuming a battery pull did nothing?

Ok, just let me know how. So far I´ve tried about 7 differente text/spam blockers apps and none has worked.
The HTC One X´s batt cannot be removed.
Do you have message settings
Just check there might be option of broadcast message
Keep our forum clean
I do have message settings but there are no options there that would help me with this (only stuff like notification types, signature, forward to email, etc).
Today I´m going to the store where I got the micro sim card to have it changed. I REALLY hope it works because it would be a real shame if this was the HTC One X and not the micro sim card.
When I go to "about the phone", then "network" it shows:
operator name - unkown
signal strenght - 0
mobile network type - unkown
service state - radio off
roaming - not roaming
Nonetheless I can make and receive calls, send and receive text msgs, navigate, etc. The only issue is really the operator msgs informing my city area code over and over again.
I went to the carrier and got a new micro sim and did a factory reset WITH the micro sim card inside the phone. The date above got populated. I will wait to see if I will get anymore msgs but I think this might be it.
I´ve tried with a micro sim card from a different carrier and the problem persists. This is phone related for sure. I really don´t know what else to do...maybe try a different rom other then the stock?
I´ve called HTC again and they instructed me to do the following:
-> "settings", "call" and then disable the option "cell broadcast".
So far no msgs. Lets wait and see.
Hi, a friend gave me an old LG P500 phone to play around with. It had a stock ROM on it.
I put my SIM in, phone showed I have service but when I try to make calls it won't let me. It just disconnects in less than a second.
So I flashed a custom rom (GSNAP 1.5) to check if that might fix the issue. It didn't, exact same issue.
Phone shows it's connected to my service provider, DATA actually works but can't make outgoing calls.
Any speculations or help?
Thanks!
can you receive calls? if no then probably hardware issue.
Its network issue.. your phone is okay!!
Call network customer care!!
Well I didn't check if I can receive calls...
I don't really care that much as to call my customer service to get it to work. I have a working phone.
This is a friend's phone and he wanted me to get it working.
I guess I'll let him try it with his SIM card. Maybe his will work.
By the way, could it be that the phone might be network locked but it just doesn't say that for some reason?
Tried a different SIM card, didn't solve the issue. Same problem.
I'm not sure it's a service provider issue.
may try flashing the official rom using kdz . might be some issue with the libraries.
I flashed the official V20c with KDZ... Still a similar problem but now it shows a message when trying to make an outgoing call: "Divert Activated"
Hi,
Having this strange issue that when I receive a phonecall, the number which is displayed misses the first digit.
In my case the incoming phonenumbers should have a leading zero, but this is missing.
So, if someone calls me with telephonenumber 0123456789, only 123456789 is being displayed.
This makes it impossible to return a call easily.
I checked several settings but have no idea what causes this.
Does somebody have a clue what this can be?
With no replies I assume that nobody has seens this problem or knows a solution for it.
I will try to figure what might be the problem and report this.
