Does this give you that red text disclaimer on the bottom like it did on the HTC One M7? I remember it did this until someone modified the HBOOT.

What gives you the red text is the recovery. You will not see red text with this unless you boot into recovery.

Ah, okay thanks!
Do you know if a splash screen from the HTC One M7 would work? Just curious.

EDIT: Here is a splash screen I used on the M7. I didn't create it, but it was one of my favorites. I just tested it and it worked fine.
It looks similar, but without the green progress dots

Very nice job, a pic of the splash would be nice.
also I'd like to post some of my own, should I make a new thread or do you want to add them to OP?
The only way to rid the red text is by editing the hboot.

Yeah we should have a thread for splash screens and boot animations or add a bunch to this OP.

Lets just them to the op, and I will try to keep it updated, if anyone has some to add, put them in the thread and I will add them to the op.
We can also now dump the annoying red Verizon boot animation

I think it is the 3 parts to the bootanimation.zip, maybe for some reason the vzw_bootup.zip can only handle 2 parts?

EDIT: The boot animation has been fixed and now works. Here is a flashable zip:

I made a custom boot animation for my phone. It put the files where they belong and it works, but not correctly. When it plays on boot, some of the colors turn black and white is some frames. It's really weird. Does anybody know the problem or would it help if I posted a video? If I can figure out what the problem is, I'll share the flashable boot animation.

Here ya go. I made a flashable zip for you as well. You had it at 128 colors. You have to use Indexed Colors at 256. That was your problem. Enjoy.
It seems to me like everytime I have tried to "optimize" the boot image files, they mess up. It's best to leave them at 256 colors with no optimization at all.

I just flashed your apple melting boot screen and it worked. Then I flashed the skate one you fixed for me and now it works after flashing yours!
I just look at the bootscreen folder on my phone and it has the boot2 and boot3 files from your boot still, which weren't there before. I deleted them and rebooted and it stopped working. Any idea why it only works with the other files from you apple melt boot?

You can't just delete the boot files, you have to edit the XML in there as well. It is still looking for the files you deleted.
you have to rename boot animation to BootAnimation, or at least that is what worked for me
7/11: I have posted new versions of each. The white is toned down a bit to match the HTC EVO emblem, and not be overwhelming. And both fonts have been smoothed so it looks much better.
I also changed the file in each zip to contain the correct name so those of you having problems should be able to run the command without changing filenames.
Mirrors also added!
Hey guys, I made this to represent xda when I boot
Thought I would share
The files attached can be flashed through bootloader.
Boot your phone into fastboot (hold vol up key while powering phone on, select fastboot)
Now open command. To verify your computer is recognizing your phone, type
Code:
fastboot devices
This should list your device. After that, you want to unzip the file you downloaded and place it in your android sdk tools folder.
Now, back in command, change to your tools directory and enter
Code:
fastboot flash splash1 splash.raw565
Remember to back up anything you don't wanna lose, and nandroid. Not responsible for anything that happens if you don't
That said I have flashed it and it works.. enjoy

Are you booted in fastboot? Did you put the raw file into your sdk folder?
If not maybe it needs the original raw file in there too.. I didn't think it should tho. If you wanna try I have attached it. You could try dropping that in tools too and running the same command. Even though thats not the file its looking for.. so it leads me to believe one of previous should fix it
It looks awesome. I think I will leave that one on there for a while. Well at least a couple of days
I flashed mine a little differently though. I changed the name of the file to evosplash1.rgb565 and ran
fastboot flash splash1 evosplash1.rgb565

made a splash screen, saved as bmp, what do i need to do to make it a splash on my evo. thanks
Black and white for me, worked like a charm. Thanks.
I thought I'd make a boot screen to match the internals of the phone. I'm waiting to get a red back cover eventually and then this will work out really well.
This is different from the others because it isn't some over the top mod, it's just a stock splash with the colors changed to match the scheme of the phone. I looked at color cards for 20 minutes in Photoshop trying to find the one that best matched the red tone of the battery & chassis, and I think it's pretty damned close, but YOMV.
Let me know what you think, just flash it the same as any other ("fastboot flash splash1 *imagename*.rgb565")
The bmp & the actual image are in the zip. Here's what it looks like:

(if it looks like it has compression artifacts here, blame Photobucket for converting from bitmap to JPEG, the real one has none)
EDIT: I put them all in one zip now. I also included the stock boot screen if you would wanna go back for whatever the reason

Any other requests from anyone?
Do we put the rgb file and the preview in the sdk tools folder? Do we rename the image to splash1.nb or leave it named as is?
I have booted into Hboot (Vol down + power) selected fastboot. The phone reads "Fastboot usb" I type in "fastboot flash splash1 splash1.nb" without quotes, and get an error: cannot load 'splash1.nb' message.

Put it in whatever folder the fastboot binary is, or if you have fastboot in your path, then make sure you're in the folder where the .nb file is.
And you don't have to rename the file, but you can if you want. If you don't, run:
Code:
fastboot flash splash1 *name of image*.nb
If you don't know what your path is, then just put it in the SDK tools directory
On a whim, I decided to rename the file to "splash1.nb", ignored the warning that changing the file extension may cause the file to not work right, left it in my sdk/tools folder and typed as fastboot flash splash1 splash1.nb and got the message that files were copied. did fastboot reboot, and smiled as the new splash screen was displayed... Thanks for the reply, and thanks again for the great work on the splash screen.
does anyone have the actual stock one? the black on white?
Great splash screens! I just flashed the EVO 4G with Cyanogenmod splash. It makes the customization of CM6 flow even better now that the splash matches the boot animation.
sugession
The black background and red text it kool cause those are my color. But the think the red is weak it should be a deeper red or something
Just my opinion!
how do i install these my phone is in fast boot but i see no flash!!!
for some reason the red on black one is coming up compressed nd all disoriented scrambled
Edit: nevermind was using the wrong one bmp instead of rgb
Nice job on the splashes
Ughh...This SDK/command fast boot stuff is over my head. I wish I could just flash this as a typical zip file. That I understand. I really like these a lot though. If anybody cares to explain this a bit more to me I would appreciate it!
Forgive me if something similar was already posted, but I did not see a Sensation specific posting of this animation.
I went through and modified the frames to allow for more accuracy in terms of specs for our devices.
Based on gimj01's http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=947688, which in turn is based on frysee's http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=648555.
Just thought I might share my edits with everyone. If gimj01 and frysee do not want me to have this posted let me know and I will remove it.

Here are instructions I copied from another boot animation thread (saved me from typing them!!! Lol!)....
Instructions to install:
[NOTE YOU MUST HAVE YOUR DEVICE S-OFF BEFORE ATTEMPTING THIS]
1.Back-up stock boot animation (if you want to) which is found in /system/customize/resource using root explorer or ES file explorer
2.Delete the stock boot animation after backing up and replace it with the bootanimation.zip included in this post in the same directory as before
Then reboot!
Simples!
@AndroTMO
Nice animation by the way, any chance of a Splash screen to match? Perhaps just the Energy Star logo + sensation details (ie the 1st frame of the animantion) with the "HTC quietly brilliant" logo beneath?

This method works perfectly except for one difference for T-mobile users- TMOUS people running the stock ROM need to replace the TMOUS_bootanimation.zip instead of the bootanimation.zip.

FYI- I found the down animations in the same folder as the boot animations.
Thanks for the #11 post.
Now that my device has S-OFF I would like this boot loader.
I see the path you mentioned using root explorer, but not sure how to get the downloaded files from my computer to the directory on the HTC Sensation.
Any advice please?
T.I.A.
All you have to do is connect your phone via USB & drag the file to your SD card. Then, use Root Explorer(market app) to copy them to the proper directory & rename them. Make sure you copy the original animations to somewhere safe on your SD card just in case you need to restore them for any reason.

Happen to remember the name of the .zip that is needed? I no longer have a down anim due to my ROM.
Is it called downanimation.zip
I like it. Unfortunately, it's the wrong resolution for sensation. 480x800 instead of 540x960 so it looks interpolated and blurry ;/
Edit: here's a modded 540x960 version I just whipped up.

I used this one and it looks great, thanks! Just for fun I also took the first image from the boot sequence and flashed that as my splash screen to replace the white screen with HTC on it prior to the boot animation.
Now when I turn on my phone, the splash screen comes up as the Energy Star image with some text, then once it goes to the boot animation it just looks like its still booting up. Kinda cool I think.
Thanks again!

can i apply this for my phone with pyramid 3d rom?
Thought I would post up some boot splash screens I cooked up for my personal use.
Note: I am not responsible if these files F**k up your phone, impregnate your wife/sister/mother/dog/cat etc.. Flash at your own risk!
