[BOOT ANIMATION]Android BIOS boot animation for Revolution HD Sensation Edition - HTC Sensation

Forgive me if something similar was already posted, but I did not see a Sensation specific posting of this animation.
I went through and modified the frames to allow for more accuracy in terms of specs for our devices.
Based on gimj01's http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=947688, which in turn is based on frysee's http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=648555.
Just thought I might share my edits with everyone. If gimj01 and frysee do not want me to have this posted let me know and I will remove it.

Here are instructions I copied from another boot animation thread (saved me from typing them!!! Lol!)....
Instructions to install:
[NOTE YOU MUST HAVE YOUR DEVICE S-OFF BEFORE ATTEMPTING THIS]
1.Back-up stock boot animation (if you want to) which is found in /system/customize/resource using root explorer or ES file explorer
2.Delete the stock boot animation after backing up and replace it with the bootanimation.zip included in this post in the same directory as before
Then reboot!
Simples!
@AndroTMO
Nice animation by the way, any chance of a Splash screen to match? Perhaps just the Energy Star logo + sensation details (ie the 1st frame of the animantion) with the "HTC quietly brilliant" logo beneath?

awesome bootscreen! got anything for us on the downscreen along similar lines?

I as of yet have not learned where the downscreen is in relation to the rest of the OS.
If I figure out how to make it do a custom, I might work one up.

Great work OP, love it

This method works perfectly except for one difference for T-mobile users- TMOUS people running the stock ROM need to replace the TMOUS_bootanimation.zip instead of the bootanimation.zip.

FYI- I found the down animations in the same folder as the boot animations.

Thanks for the #11 post.
Now that my device has S-OFF I would like this boot loader.
I see the path you mentioned using root explorer, but not sure how to get the downloaded files from my computer to the directory on the HTC Sensation.
Any advice please?
T.I.A.

All you have to do is connect your phone via USB & drag the file to your SD card. Then, use Root Explorer(market app) to copy them to the proper directory & rename them. Make sure you copy the original animations to somewhere safe on your SD card just in case you need to restore them for any reason.

kabuk1 you rock!
Your instructions are crystal clear and very easy to understand.
Thank you for taking the time to help

You're very welcome

Happen to remember the name of the .zip that is needed? I no longer have a down anim due to my ROM.

Is it called downanimation.zip

I like it. Unfortunately, it's the wrong resolution for sensation. 480x800 instead of 540x960 so it looks interpolated and blurry ;/
Edit: here's a modded 540x960 version I just whipped up.

I used this one and it looks great, thanks! Just for fun I also took the first image from the boot sequence and flashed that as my splash screen to replace the white screen with HTC on it prior to the boot animation.
Now when I turn on my phone, the splash screen comes up as the Energy Star image with some text, then once it goes to the boot animation it just looks like its still booting up. Kinda cool I think.
Thanks again!
~T.J.

can i apply this for my phone with pyramid 3d rom?

Black HTC boot and splash screens (with preview)

After searching for a black replacement for both boot screen (the one with "quietly brilliant") and splash screen (the one that shows when you power up the phone) I found some but they had some problems like the animation was too fast or the splash screen was not the same as the original, so I decided to create them.
As I'm not allowed to post any images, in the attachment below you will find previews of both images.
Also in the attachment you will find both original HTC screens and the black ones created by me.
INSTALLING
For boot screens just replace the leo_animated.gif in your windows folder.
For splash screens place leoimg.nbh in the root of your storage card and flash through HSPL boot loader. (In the leoimg.nbh files are both splash and subsplash pictures)

No I havent changed the welcomehead cause I like the orange one.
Yeah sorry, wasnt thinking straight, course it wouldnt work cos its animated.....
Im gonna make my own welcomehead but I just wanna double check what dimensions the file should be, if someone could let me know that would be much appreciated.
Also, Im assuming upon booting the device a copy of welcomehead.192 is created which then becomes the file called "welcomehead" but why are the files so different in size??
Is it just a case of replacing the welcomehead.192 or both of the files? and should both be the same dimensions etc?
Any help, much appreciated......

welcomehead192 and welcomehead are 2 diferent files. I think welcomehead192 is shown when the device is booting for the first time to show the progress bar. and welcomehead is showing up every time you boot your phone. the dimensions should be 480x800for HD2. The reason that microsoft has it 800x800 I believe is for covering both landscape and portrait orientations of the screen.

This is happening because your nbh file has only the splash image and you are missing the subsplash image.
If you can upload your nbh file I'll try to fix it

If any one has an animated gif they want turned into a boot screen, I'll make it for you. All I need you to do is give me the gif and I'll make it, and put it in a zip for you. If you want sound I'll experiment and see if I can make one.
Here are the three from the second post
*These ARE flashable through cwm recovery!*
for anyone that's curious I am making an Ubuntu boot screen.
Here is a "black stock boot animation" I made upon request.
I used the generic one, worked great! Thanks a lot!
I am glad you liked it .
Man, could you make this into a boot for me?
This is flashable through cwm if you are using an inspire 4g. If you are using it on another phone let me know because I will have to adjust the resolution.
Great man, I appreciate it, but when I tried to flash it, it failed, and when I manually did it, it just shows up a black screen.
I flashed it earlier. I had to wipe restore and then flash it again and it worked. If you made a nandroid back up restore and try to flash again. I promise it works and looks good .
I am using the inspire boot animation keep up the good work.

I like the Generic Inspire, except for the text change from "Inspire 4G" to "Loading..." IMHO, would be better if it just kept repeating "Inspire 4G."
Either way, thanks, it looks great.
wow, Root Explorer FTW, been sitting here trying to copy over my bios boot animation, tried everything from adb push to astro file manager.
Worked first time once I used root explorer and copied to \data\local
Glad I could help !
Hi,
Could you make a boot animation using this image?
This is from a free wallpaper site.
I don't want it to be a flashable file. I need to manually replace a bootanimation file in a specific directory myself for the ROM I'm using.
I think it looks cool, and I'd love it if you can do this.
GT
To be honest with something like that since its not an animated .gif. I would have to use illustrator to vector it then animate it. It would take a while to do. Even if I made it with my 3d program. If you could find an animated gif I would be more then willing to convert it for you and give you the zip.

[BOOTANIMATION] Nexus One Retail Boot Animation - (ICS) Revised [ZIP & MTZ]

Nexus One Retail Boot Animation - (ICS) Revised
What is it?
This is a modified CM5 boot animation, which itself is a modified version of the stock boot animation that the retail Nexus One devices have been shipped with.
What i changed?
To match my idea of an ICS version of the stock animation, i removed the CM Logo from the CM5 boot animation and made slightly changes to the base color to match the correct blue used in ICS.

How does it look?
Basically this is a stock Nexus One boot animation - with a touch of Ice Cream Sandwich.
Part0 of Boot animation:
Part1 of Boot animation (actual loop):
How to use?
To use it, use ADB to push the attached ZIP onto your device as follows:
Backup original
Code:
adb pull /system/media/bootanimation.zip
Push new
Code:
adb remount
adb push /local/path/to/bootanimation_passion_ics.zip /system/media/bootanimation.zip
adb reboot
NOTE:
If you use a file explorer to copy files, or type in the commands (instead of c+p), make sure you change the name of the ZIP from bootanimation_passion_ics.zip to bootanimation.zip! The boot script is looking for /system/media/bootanimation.zip. If you have /system/media/bootanimation_passion_ics.zip (or anything else) it won't work!
UPDATE / MIUI MTZ VERSION
At request i created a mtz version of the boot animation. I've never used MIUI and never came accross this mtz file format before. All i did was following the suggestion i found here on XDA; Open an existing mtz file with 7zip and replacing the zip. I did not tested that version. Please let me know if it works.

Very nice thanks.
I tried this last night and it didn't work
I downloaded the file, I used RootExplorer to removed the stock boot animation from the folder you suggested (running ICS ROM) and then I placed the new zip you created into the said folder.
When I reboot, my new boot animation (it did change) is a simple "Android" that has a silver "flash" look as if its shimmering.
Any suggestions?

First idea: Have you changed the name of the ZIP from bootanimation_passion_ics.zip to bootanimation.zip (maybe you forgot it, as you used a root explorer rather than copy the commands)? The boot script is looking for /system/media/bootanimation.zip. If you have /system/media/bootanimation_passion_ics.zip (or anything else) it won't work.

I can't find the oxygen1mod sources right away. but some roms will need the file in /local/data/bootanimation So you could try:
Code:
adb shell mkdir /data/local/bootanimation
adb push bootanimation_passion_ics.zip /data/local/bootanimation
adb reboot
Alternatively i found this thread, that might help (your ROM needs init.d support for that solution!) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=641189
Tried as u sed. But still the same.
Dev asked to jus place it in /system/media. No effect for that aswell.
While trying for this i once removed the bootanimation file from /system/bin and placed it later. Could that be the issue???

[Splash Screens](Updated 02/06/2012)Diablo67's Splash Screens 4 EVO

Hey guys,i have decided to create splash screens,so i figured i would post a few,let you guys get the idea and then let you guys request the rest.
If any rom developers want splash screens made for your roms,just pm me with the requested rom and text you would like me to input.
I have tested everyone of these splashes and they all work 100%.You have to be rooted to install these on your phone.
I had a few requests to post the method i use to create splash screens,so here we go..
Splash screen tutorial:
Before you attempt to use this tool, please note that conversion from bitmap to splash screen image as well as flashing the resulting image works with any Android device with any screen resolution but conversion of a splash screen image file into a bitmap works only with images for device having a screen resolution of 480 x 800 pixels.
Also note that to be able to flash a custom splash screen, your phone must be fully rooted and must have an unlocked bootloader.
Using the script is very simple and anyone should be able to do so by following these simple instructions.
Convert and flash splash screen to your device from bitmap file
1.Download Splash Screen Creator from the link given below and extract the contents of the zip file to a folder on your computer.
2.Put the bitmap file (with .bmp extension) that you want to convert into a splash screen and flash to your device, into the same folder as the files extracted in Step 1. Make absolutely sure that the resolution of the bitmap file is exactly the same as the screen resolution of your device.
3.Name the bitmap file ‘SPLASH.BMP’. Any other name will not work.
4.Connect your device to your computer via USB and make sure it is properly recognized by the computer i.e. its drivers are installed.
5.From the files extracted in Step 1, run the ‘RUN THIS ONE.bat’ file by double-clicking on it. You will see the following window
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
6.In the DOS window, enter ‘1’. It will convert the bitmap to a splash screen image file.
7.Once the conversion is done, the script will ask you if you want to flash the image to your phone as well. If you want to do so, press 1 and wait patiently while it is flashed. If you just wanted the converted splash screen image, press 2 here and the script will end.
8.Do NOT unplug your phone from your computer while the image is being flashed.
9.Once the image has been flashed, you may close the script.
Convert splash screen file into bitmap file
1.Download Splash Screen Creator from the link given below and extract the contents of the zip file to a folder on your computer.
2.Put the SPLASH.IMG splash screen image file that you want to convert into a bitmap, into the same folder as the files extracted in Step 1. Make absolutely sure that the image is 480 x 800 pixels.
3.From the files extracted in Step 1, run the ‘RUN THIS ONE.bat’ file by double-clicking on it.
4.In the DOS window, enter ‘2’. It will convert the SPLASH.IMG file into a SPLASH.BMP.
5.Once the conversion is done, you may use the SPLASH.BMP file in any way, edit it the way you want and then convert it back into SPLASH.IMG and flash it to your device using the above method.
Original Thread
Splash Screen Creator
You can download the stock splash from below as an attached file.
Instructions:
1)Download the splash screen that you desire.
2)Copy the splash screen(PC36IMG.zip,it has to be named to this!)to the root(first level of the sd cards folder)of your SD card.
3)Power off your phone,wait 10 seconds,then hold the volume rocker in the down position and power on,you will boot into Hboot.(If you have the multi power mod,then you can skip this step and go straight to Hboot from home screen).
4)When in Hboot,wait for Hboot to load,it takes a second,when loaded,it will ask you if you want to install the update,push the volume rocker in the up position to install the update(splash screen).(sometimes when you boot into Hboot it will be in fastboot mode,just scroll to Hboot if it already is'nt there and hit the power button to boot into Hboot).
5)It will then ask if you want to reboot,hold up on the volume rocker to reboot your phone back to your home screen.(on your way back,check out your new splash screen).
6)Once back in your phone,go to a file explorer of your choice and go to the root of your sd card and remove the PC36IMG file,so it does'nt try to update the next time you boot into Hboot.
Disclaimer:I am not responsible for what happens to your phone after you download this file.I posted detailed instructions to install a splash screen,theres no reason for you to brick your phone.

Thanks bro,i appreciate the stock splash.
The screens seem awefully skewed and stretched. If you create the image at the dimensions necessary for the splash screen then it won't skew like that. Seems like you created this images at a different dimension and then changed them. Hrm..

Look dude i think i know the dimensions,maybe its your brain.The screenshots from the host was scaled down so the smaller you go,the crisper the image becomes.
Nice work. I'm always messing with these the more the merrier!

If you have any requests,just post the pic and the font and text wanted in the splash and ill upload it for you.
Think he just means that since you are using some outside images that they should fit. Doesn't take much to resize. I think that's what he means. Some don't look right, that's all. No biggie.
Anywho. Good look on the collection.

Sorry for the delayed response. I wasn't referring to the actual dimensions of the splash screens. I was referring to the objects in the splash screen, i guess they seem a little skewed. If you are re-sizing images on separate layers try holding shift while re-sizing (assuming you are using Photoshop). It will keep the correct dimensions.
Sorry if I seemed like I was giving you an attitude, I appreciate the work that you do!
The splash screens are looking good! I've tried out a couple but like the fourth the best.

This is not a flashable zip.
Do like. Do like alot!
WAY better than the creepy CID logo where just the very bottom was animated. Dark backgrounds just work better as boot animations. It looks cleaner and more professional somehow.
The only thing I might add is a big "X" (For 10) thats 'slashed' into the background. By slashes I mean something like this Wolverine image...
...only 2 slashes forming an X.
so the circle logo does it's thing, then slash 1, slash 2, and a white glow from behind the background.
tested on cm9...works well
looks more beautiful now:good:
Is this a flashable zip? What is the resolution?
I would like to use it on my Milestone 2 but I read on some threads that after boot phone screen just goes black...

Assuming you have the Sensation, this may not work.. you are 540 x 960px and this is only 800px vertical(portrait)
Not flash'able. Ive done a whole lot of research on this bootani and soo many different people think they can flash it or don't know their screen res or don't see its a file that you choose whether to have it portrait or landscape...(Hence, 15MB+ file..durr) So, what you do is find out your vertical screen res, open the 'vertical' folder, choose your resolution# and there will be a 'bootanimation.zip' there. Move that file to your sdcard, from your sdcard to /system/media, you should have your original bootani there so make sure to save it somewhere handy, then change your permissions to rw-r-r-- once you've moved your new bootanimation there. However, this worked on my Epic 4G, so Idk how this works with other phones but I thought I'd give ya a little guidance!
welcome

Originally, this was the vertical 540x540 bootanimation from the original CM download. I edited it to be 540x960, so that it will fit Sensation/Amaze 4g and any other phone with that resolution. If you want to apply to it on a different phone, TRY and edit the desc.txt file to your phones resolution then rezip the file with "store" compression. No promises that it will fit perfect though.
Good lord, people. Its a boot animation, not a space shuttle launch.
Just try it and see if it works on your phone's screen size. If it doesnt it will either look wacky or you will get the stock ANDROID boot animation. But tbe phone will still boot, at which point you can change the non working animation to something else
You cant screw up your phone by trying it.
If you have a sensation, this .zip animation works. Period.
It doesnt matter what rom you are running or what version of the rom you are running.
If you want to use it on ARHD, AOKP,CM, or even stockroms, it will work. Bootanimations are not rom specific. (Though sense roms store the animation files in a different spot than aosp roms)

Here.
They have this on the Galaxy SIII forum as a flashable zip. I pulled the bootanimation.zip file out of the flashable zip and just posted it here as a regular bootanimation file that can be copied using ES File Explorer or the like.
It's a 540x540 file but I assure you it works. I've already installed it and looked at it. Android will center the animation on the screen. it doesn't need to be 540x960 natively.
Put it in /system/media and change the permissions to give it read write and execute permissions. Enjoy.
If you really want the flashable zip the Galaxy SIII forum is here. But it's like 10 times faster to just move the file using File Explorer.
