[SPLASH] Stock Evo Splashes, Various Colors + Requests - EVO 4G Themes and Apps

I thought I'd make a boot screen to match the internals of the phone. I'm waiting to get a red back cover eventually and then this will work out really well.
This is different from the others because it isn't some over the top mod, it's just a stock splash with the colors changed to match the scheme of the phone. I looked at color cards for 20 minutes in Photoshop trying to find the one that best matched the red tone of the battery & chassis, and I think it's pretty damned close, but YOMV.
Let me know what you think, just flash it the same as any other ("fastboot flash splash1 *imagename*.rgb565")
The bmp & the actual image are in the zip. Here's what it looks like:

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
(if it looks like it has compression artifacts here, blame Photobucket for converting from bitmap to JPEG, the real one has none)
EDIT: I put them all in one zip now. I also included the stock boot screen if you would wanna go back for whatever the reason

Could we get this in red-on-black, please?

No rush bro. Like the g in google blue.

Not to be a P.I.T.A. but as long as you are taking requests, with the Soon to release CM6 from CyanogenMod, maybe you could make a Black on Cyan /Cyan on Black set.

I can do that. You want the CM logo in it?
Done. I made the Cyan on Black one, one with a logo and one without. No black on cyan, it looked like crap lol so I left it out.

Great work... That cyan on black with the logo is SWEET!!!! Time to pull out the laptop (for some reason, can't get the desktop and my EVO to cooperate).

Any other requests from anyone?

Do we put the rgb file and the preview in the sdk tools folder? Do we rename the image to splash1.nb or leave it named as is?
I have booted into Hboot (Vol down + power) selected fastboot. The phone reads "Fastboot usb" I type in "fastboot flash splash1 splash1.nb" without quotes, and get an error: cannot load 'splash1.nb' message.

Put it in whatever folder the fastboot binary is, or if you have fastboot in your path, then make sure you're in the folder where the .nb file is.
And you don't have to rename the file, but you can if you want. If you don't, run:
Code:
fastboot flash splash1 *name of image*.nb
If you don't know what your path is, then just put it in the SDK tools directory

On a whim, I decided to rename the file to "splash1.nb", ignored the warning that changing the file extension may cause the file to not work right, left it in my sdk/tools folder and typed as fastboot flash splash1 splash1.nb and got the message that files were copied. did fastboot reboot, and smiled as the new splash screen was displayed... Thanks for the reply, and thanks again for the great work on the splash screen.

does anyone have the actual stock one? the black on white?

Great splash screens! I just flashed the EVO 4G with Cyanogenmod splash. It makes the customization of CM6 flow even better now that the splash matches the boot animation.

sugession
The black background and red text it kool cause those are my color. But the think the red is weak it should be a deeper red or something
Just my opinion!

how do i install these my phone is in fast boot but i see no flash!!!

for some reason the red on black one is coming up compressed nd all disoriented scrambled
Edit: nevermind was using the wrong one bmp instead of rgb

Nice job on the splashes

Ughh...This SDK/command fast boot stuff is over my head. I wish I could just flash this as a typical zip file. That I understand. I really like these a lot though. If anybody cares to explain this a bit more to me I would appreciate it!

Black HTC boot and splash screens (with preview)

After searching for a black replacement for both boot screen (the one with "quietly brilliant") and splash screen (the one that shows when you power up the phone) I found some but they had some problems like the animation was too fast or the splash screen was not the same as the original, so I decided to create them.
As I'm not allowed to post any images, in the attachment below you will find previews of both images.
Also in the attachment you will find both original HTC screens and the black ones created by me.
INSTALLING
For boot screens just replace the leo_animated.gif in your windows folder.
For splash screens place leoimg.nbh in the root of your storage card and flash through HSPL boot loader. (In the leoimg.nbh files are both splash and subsplash pictures)

thats why i inserted inside the attachment previews of the screens.

No I havent changed the welcomehead cause I like the orange one.
Yeah sorry, wasnt thinking straight, course it wouldnt work cos its animated.....
Im gonna make my own welcomehead but I just wanna double check what dimensions the file should be, if someone could let me know that would be much appreciated.
Also, Im assuming upon booting the device a copy of welcomehead.192 is created which then becomes the file called "welcomehead" but why are the files so different in size??
Is it just a case of replacing the welcomehead.192 or both of the files? and should both be the same dimensions etc?
Any help, much appreciated......

welcomehead192 and welcomehead are 2 diferent files. I think welcomehead192 is shown when the device is booting for the first time to show the progress bar. and welcomehead is showing up every time you boot your phone. the dimensions should be 480x800for HD2. The reason that microsoft has it 800x800 I believe is for covering both landscape and portrait orientations of the screen.

This is happening because your nbh file has only the splash image and you are missing the subsplash image.
If you can upload your nbh file I'll try to fix it

thats what im tryin to avoid in case i wanted to change it in the future.. i flashed a new rom with a flash screen and the htc screen still came up.. thats the part i dont want..
you have to insert the same image.nb file to both splash and subsplash entries of htcrt tool and create your nbh file with or without an os

Simple XDA splash, black

7/11: I have posted new versions of each. The white is toned down a bit to match the HTC EVO emblem, and not be overwhelming. And both fonts have been smoothed so it looks much better.
I also changed the file in each zip to contain the correct name so those of you having problems should be able to run the command without changing filenames.
Mirrors also added!
Hey guys, I made this to represent xda when I boot
Thought I would share
The files attached can be flashed through bootloader.
Boot your phone into fastboot (hold vol up key while powering phone on, select fastboot)
Now open command. To verify your computer is recognizing your phone, type
Code:
fastboot devices
This should list your device. After that, you want to unzip the file you downloaded and place it in your android sdk tools folder.
Now, back in command, change to your tools directory and enter
Code:
fastboot flash splash1 splash.raw565
Remember to back up anything you don't wanna lose, and nandroid. Not responsible for anything that happens if you don't
That said I have flashed it and it works.. enjoy

Are you booted in fastboot? Did you put the raw file into your sdk folder?
If not maybe it needs the original raw file in there too.. I didn't think it should tho. If you wanna try I have attached it. You could try dropping that in tools too and running the same command. Even though thats not the file its looking for.. so it leads me to believe one of previous should fix it
It looks awesome. I think I will leave that one on there for a while. Well at least a couple of days
I flashed mine a little differently though. I changed the name of the file to evosplash1.rgb565 and ran

[SPLASH] Custom Splash Screens - By Unknownforce

Here's the first of many splash screens to come. I will also take requests, I have Photoshop and all the tools to make customs screens.
This one I "borrowed" from 12MaNy's Splash screens (Thanks!) and simply added the HTC EVO 4G logo and used my limited photoshop skills to spice it up
Install is the same as the others...
You need the windows android SDK package, I'll get a link for it soon.
1.) Copy the evosplash1.rgb565 to your android sdk tools folder
2.) Power off phone
3.) Boot up into boot loader (hold vol down while pressing power)
4.) Go to Fastboot with the volume keys and press the power button
5.) Plug device in (You'll see FASTBOOT USB at the top)
6.) Open a command window in windows (Windows key + r, cmd)
7.) Use "cd" to change to your android sdk tools folder (e.g. "cd c:\androidsdk\tools")
8.) Then type the following (without quotes) "fastboot flash splash1 evosplash1.rgb565" and press enter
9.) Select reboot on the phone with the power button and watch your new splash screen display

Greetings Unknownforce,
Really love your splash screens!
I see they are only for Windows users.
Code:
# fastboot flash splash1 evosplash1.rgb565
sending 'splash1' (750 KB)... OKAY
writing 'splash1'... FAILED (remote: not allowed)
Will you have any for other OS's?
Thank you for all your time and consideration.
--Chris
Sorry Unknownforce,
My bad. I rooted with Unrevoked 3.21, which has an HTBOOT that doesn't have
the "extended" fastboot commands available that the ENG bootloader does. So I
changed the HTBOOT, and your wonderful bootscreen adorns my EVO-supersonic.
Thanks for the great looking screens, and sharing them Unknownforce!
--Chris
Now We Need Matching Bootscreen Please
Unknownforce,
Your splash screens are off the hook. Problem is, when my EVO cycles from the splash screen to the boot animation, it's pretty sad. All of the bootscreens I have loaded pale when viewed aside your awesome splash graphics.
The only solution is an Unknownforce custom bootscreen!! Is there any chance you might be able to put one together that integrates nicely with your cutting edge splash graphics? Pleasssseeeee?
Just adopted the top one! Very nice, Thanks!

Any one know how to fix this?
Anybody having trouble installing can either get the extended fastboot commands, just search its pretty easy to find, or you can use this method. I didn't figure this out it was done by silentstryder but her ya go.
1) Download Unrevoked Forever's custom splash screen PC36IMG.zip
2) Open the zip and delete the splash1.img
3) Download the custom splash screen you like and rename it: splash1.img
4) put the file in PC36IMG.zip
5) put the Zip on the root of your SD Card.
6) Power Down your phone.
7) Boot your phone into HBOOT (hold down "volume down" and press the power button)
8) Your phone will automatically find the zip and ask if you want to apply it.
9) Press "Volume Up" for yes
10) It will ask to reboot. Press "Volume Up" for yes.
The unrevoked custom splash can be found on their site.
11) your phone reboots, and you see the new Splash Screen.
Thanks
That made things REALLY simple! Thank you so much. I still copy paste boot animations using root explorer... seems easier.
I just wanted to say that the splash with the green jacks looks even better on my phone than my computer screen, and it looks really good on my computer.
Also, I would thank you with the button, but it's not available. So, I thanked a random post of yours.
I tried the method of replacing the splash image but it never asks me to apply. Can anyone help?
amazing!
any chance of doing an orange or blue version of either?

[Splash Screens](Updated 02/06/2012)Diablo67's Splash Screens 4 EVO

Hey guys,i have decided to create splash screens,so i figured i would post a few,let you guys get the idea and then let you guys request the rest.
If any rom developers want splash screens made for your roms,just pm me with the requested rom and text you would like me to input.
I have tested everyone of these splashes and they all work 100%.You have to be rooted to install these on your phone.
I had a few requests to post the method i use to create splash screens,so here we go..
Splash screen tutorial:
Before you attempt to use this tool, please note that conversion from bitmap to splash screen image as well as flashing the resulting image works with any Android device with any screen resolution but conversion of a splash screen image file into a bitmap works only with images for device having a screen resolution of 480 x 800 pixels.
Also note that to be able to flash a custom splash screen, your phone must be fully rooted and must have an unlocked bootloader.
Using the script is very simple and anyone should be able to do so by following these simple instructions.
Convert and flash splash screen to your device from bitmap file
1.Download Splash Screen Creator from the link given below and extract the contents of the zip file to a folder on your computer.
2.Put the bitmap file (with .bmp extension) that you want to convert into a splash screen and flash to your device, into the same folder as the files extracted in Step 1. Make absolutely sure that the resolution of the bitmap file is exactly the same as the screen resolution of your device.
3.Name the bitmap file ‘SPLASH.BMP’. Any other name will not work.
4.Connect your device to your computer via USB and make sure it is properly recognized by the computer i.e. its drivers are installed.
5.From the files extracted in Step 1, run the ‘RUN THIS ONE.bat’ file by double-clicking on it. You will see the following window
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
6.In the DOS window, enter ‘1’. It will convert the bitmap to a splash screen image file.
7.Once the conversion is done, the script will ask you if you want to flash the image to your phone as well. If you want to do so, press 1 and wait patiently while it is flashed. If you just wanted the converted splash screen image, press 2 here and the script will end.
8.Do NOT unplug your phone from your computer while the image is being flashed.
9.Once the image has been flashed, you may close the script.
Convert splash screen file into bitmap file
1.Download Splash Screen Creator from the link given below and extract the contents of the zip file to a folder on your computer.
2.Put the SPLASH.IMG splash screen image file that you want to convert into a bitmap, into the same folder as the files extracted in Step 1. Make absolutely sure that the image is 480 x 800 pixels.
3.From the files extracted in Step 1, run the ‘RUN THIS ONE.bat’ file by double-clicking on it.
4.In the DOS window, enter ‘2’. It will convert the SPLASH.IMG file into a SPLASH.BMP.
5.Once the conversion is done, you may use the SPLASH.BMP file in any way, edit it the way you want and then convert it back into SPLASH.IMG and flash it to your device using the above method.

Splash Screen Creator
You can download the stock splash from below as an attached file.
Instructions:
1)Download the splash screen that you desire.
2)Copy the splash screen(PC36IMG.zip,it has to be named to this!)to the root(first level of the sd cards folder)of your SD card.
3)Power off your phone,wait 10 seconds,then hold the volume rocker in the down position and power on,you will boot into Hboot.(If you have the multi power mod,then you can skip this step and go straight to Hboot from home screen).
4)When in Hboot,wait for Hboot to load,it takes a second,when loaded,it will ask you if you want to install the update,push the volume rocker in the up position to install the update(splash screen).(sometimes when you boot into Hboot it will be in fastboot mode,just scroll to Hboot if it already is'nt there and hit the power button to boot into Hboot).
5)It will then ask if you want to reboot,hold up on the volume rocker to reboot your phone back to your home screen.(on your way back,check out your new splash screen).
6)Once back in your phone,go to a file explorer of your choice and go to the root of your sd card and remove the PC36IMG file,so it does'nt try to update the next time you boot into Hboot.
Disclaimer:I am not responsible for what happens to your phone after you download this file.I posted detailed instructions to install a splash screen,theres no reason for you to brick your phone.

Thanks bro,i appreciate the stock splash.
The screens seem awefully skewed and stretched. If you create the image at the dimensions necessary for the splash screen then it won't skew like that. Seems like you created this images at a different dimension and then changed them. Hrm..

Look dude i think i know the dimensions,maybe its your brain.The screenshots from the host was scaled down so the smaller you go,the crisper the image becomes.
Nice work. I'm always messing with these the more the merrier!

If you have any requests,just post the pic and the font and text wanted in the splash and ill upload it for you.
Think he just means that since you are using some outside images that they should fit. Doesn't take much to resize. I think that's what he means. Some don't look right, that's all. No biggie.
Anywho. Good look on the collection.

Sorry for the delayed response. I wasn't referring to the actual dimensions of the splash screens. I was referring to the objects in the splash screen, i guess they seem a little skewed. If you are re-sizing images on separate layers try holding shift while re-sizing (assuming you are using Photoshop). It will keep the correct dimensions.
Sorry if I seemed like I was giving you an attitude, I appreciate the work that you do!
The splash screens are looking good! I've tried out a couple but like the fourth the best.
