Here you go!! Review of Kewers for Sony Xperia Z1 Compact :victory: Hope will give some helpful information needed for this Case.

Price : Taiwan Dollar $1480, £29.50, USD48.50, international shipping additional Taiwan Dollar $700, £14, USD 23.
Packaging/ Delivery/ Contact
- Item arrive EMS tracked within 4 days international post.
- Packaging was good and item well pack with bubble wrap.
- Item “Marked as Gift” + Value lowered. (I requested this due to custom/import purposes).
- Seller very responsive on answering questions (Via FB) and provide update. (Order and shipping update) However, all are in Chinese therefore google translate needed for someone not Chinese speaking.
Quality/ Material
- Material quality is good, premium feel with no sharp edges around corner. Only sharp edge I could find is the buttons (Camera shutter, volume and power) and the headphone port but it won’t cut your finger and just to let you know when you need to find it.
- Unboxing experience is good and fitting the frame was easy (Instructions provided in box)
- Power, Volume & Shutter button was covered with aluminium button which installed within the case. Button works nicely and there were almost not notice compare to the original button.
- Sound quality is good as the case divert the sound towards the front of the screen (That is one of the reason I bought it). No loss of sound even in the pocket.
- Feel a total size increase when first change to this case but with the premium feel & look of it, I think it is acceptable. Weight has not much change 17g.
- 4 spare screw + 2 attached to case, Manual, Cleaning cloth, Screwdriver (key), Frame itself.
Fitting
- Phone fitted nicely with provided soft rubber padding inside the frame to avoid any scratches against the phone.
- Not tested on DK31/ DK32 dock as I don’t have one. But seeing the frame has a bit of contour along the magnetic charging area + Pictures on their website. It looks will fit DK31 and DK32.
- Once fitted it has a small depth (Probably 0.2-0.5mm) between the screen & back surface. (Which is good to provide some gap for the screen + back to avoid get scratch when placing phone on flat surface.
- If I have to be very picky, I’ve notice there is a very small gap between phone and case (screen corner – between screen and case) which will gather some dust over time. (Not a big issue where most of the case gather dust inside anyway). Same apply with the speaker cutout which overtime will gather some dust inside.
- Headphone port looks a bit deep but tested with “L Shape” jack it fitted nicely and have space to more around. (I only tested mine “L shape” hardphone jack as I do not have lots of “L Shape” around.
Signals Effect Test
a) My WIFI speed is scrap (3 mbps) so don’t complaint it.
b) Each test was done within 30mins, same position & test location.
c) I am not a mobile/material engineer and I am just making a comparison with/ without case.
- Radio & Speedtest (WIFI/4G) (LINK) and (LINK)
As you see the radio and signals comparison, degradation about +/- 3dBm and about 5% signal change overall. I do not see any major difference on signals drops so far but will have to review again probably after 1-2 week of use. Wifi same slight degradation of signals but it does not effect overall experiences on using wifi. 4G testing on Speedtest is a bit strange as the reading is not always within the range and sometimes it can be high and sometimes it can be low. From what I got for Speedtest 4G speed it looks like degradation about +/- 10mb download and +/- 5mb upload. It might depend on cell tower/ location/ weather. This will need to report back after few weeks of use too.
- GPS (LINK)
GPS degradation of accuracy as you could see from the top right corner. Test been carried out in 2 mins waiting / cool down time for GPS to lock.
Cutout
- SD – NO
- Micro USB – YES
- Headphone - YES
- Magnetic Charger – YES
- Phone strips - YES
Conclusion:
Liking this case and was waiting for something like this for long time, I would rate it 8/10 overall. However, improvement can be made on (If I have to be very picky) is to reduce the thickness little + better Signals/WIFI/3G improvements. I know there are already similar aluminium bumper case which has minimum / nearly “Zero” signal degradation. Overall, quite impressive with the new design (compare to the Z1 version), they have manage to refine better shape, curvature and grip. I do not own the Z1 version but I've seen the picture there are more rounded at the bottom. Seller website can implement “English” language translation for potential international buyer as while checking using Google Translate there are some grammar mistake.
Thanks for the great review. I've ordered the same exact case, looking forward to getting it (and my phone). It does look a bit bulky, but I am always keen on keeping my phone as close to new as possible, so it can't hurt.
Mine also arrived yesterday. Champagne gold color, look nicer actual then in pic posted in their fb.

It definitely feels a size bigger but goes along with the premium feel of the phone. I'm going with the case that has the QX10 adapter

Hi guys,
I have just bought the PO S520 case for my Desire. What can I say? First impression - a nice case with a sleek minimalistic design.
The leather quality is good, you can actually smell that it's real leather (not the faux leather as sold plenty at eBay). The leather is quite soft, you can bend the case very easily if you want to. There are also two.. erm.. "hardening plates" inside the case itself that hold its shape so that it does not feel too soft just like a piece of leather. The "plates" are quite soft as well, apparently made from thin plastic or hard paper. Those are nothing that you can actually see, as they are "sewed in" into the front and rear part of the case. I hope you understand what I mean.
The ex-Blackberry owners having those super-hard-leather-cases that feel like leather but are hard as a rock - no, the PO S520 is not like one of these.
The inner lining is made of some kind of a soft polyester fabric (the one you meet quite often on the inner part of skiing winter gloves, for example). The quality seems to be ok at a first glance.
The phone fits nicely in the case, no parts are sticking out.
The pouch felt a bit tight for the Desire at the first time, (specially the lower part) So i tried to see how stretchable it is. On my way from Tottenham Court Rd to South Kensington (20 mins roughly) I was trying to stretch it with a mock-up Desire (the one they use at stores for display purposes) inserting it slightly angled, holding the pouch a bit skewed etc. When I arrived to work the pouch already felt much more comfortable. So, the verdict is ==> Yes, it does stretch.
As for the pull-out strip. I was very worried about this one as it actually wraps around the whole lower part of your phone when it's inside the pouch. And, of course, when you pull your phone out, it experiences a lot of friction. I was afraid of the phone's soft-touch coating to disappear with time. Looking more carefully has shown that HTC has at least thought about this thing and has made the "inner" side of the strip (the one that faces your phone when inserted) a bit more silky and glossy that might *cough* help the soft-touchiness to live a bit longer.
One pleasant thing to notice was a small magnet inside the end of the pull-out strip. Thus the end does not flutter around but sits tight attached to the case at all times.
A bit less pleasant thing to notice were the inner stitches. On one of the pics showing the inside of the pouch you see two black stitches on the inner-backside. Those are not very flush and may leave "soft-scratches" on the backside of your Desire, so be careful or ask your mum for a solution, she definitely knows how to handle the stitches I personally do not think that this is a real issue as the stitches are nothing "hard" or "sharp".
Right now I have used the pouch for some 90 minutes. Will keep playing with it for the rest of the day and will update the review if needed.
If you have anything to add - don't be shy
Cheers.
Thanks much for your review, very detailed. But could I ask where did u get this case? I thought its due for release on 15th..0.0''

D'oh! Should've looked for it cheaper - ah well, only a fiver!
I ordered one and its been already dispatched from KingofGadgets.(can ne ordered at amazon.co.uk)
Received mine this am, very good quality, looks the part but wow! is it a tight fit I'm glad I was sitting on my couch when I tried it the first few times as I dropped the phone 2 or 3 times as I was trying to push the phone into the pouch, I imagine it will ease up over time but I would be careful when using it initially.
Dont forget to insure your phone.
Thanks for the review, have one on the way...
Thanks for writing this, I am looking alot at cases atm and this one is definitely a contender for 2 reasons, A being an original case and B it's quite cheap, and C (I know 3 reasons ) its simplistic in it's appearance but seems functional.
I would really like some more pictures of the phone fully inserted though. Despite that it appearently is a tight fit when you first receive it, I kinda wonder how big it is/makes the phone.
// Cole
HD2 one was just as tight, got loose as you use it so not worried about that - phone is insured though
When inserted, the phone is not "bigger" at all. The space it takes in pocket is almost the same - that was one of the reasons I bought it.
As for tightness - I did the following trick: I have wrapped my Desire's lower part in paper (took a half A4) to make it thicker. Then pressed the phone in (was not that hard, had no worries to damage the phone or case). Waited for some minutes, pulled the phone out. Voila! Now it fits perfectly - not too tight, not too loose.
As for the stitches - does anyone else experience this? Try pulling your Desire out so that the phone's backside rubs them slightly - do you see any marks? (yes, I know I am being waaaay too perky here, but still )
Sounds good, I've settled for the pictures you posted earlier (which looked quite good I might add), and ordered my own pouch from mobilefun.co.uk (quite low shipping cost of about 4£ within EU, very good).

I have tried to solve it by "polishing" the inner side of the case. I have a mock-up Desire (used for display ppses in stores) and i was simply pulling it in- and out of the case, pressing slightly harder on the back side, trying to "rub the stitches away". Two things I have noticed:
- the stitches did get "polished" and do not scratch the phone that much now, almost not at all.
- the soft-touch coating of a demo-mock-up is way better than the one they apply on the real phone. The mock-up doesn't get any scratches at all, even if I try to scratch it with nails! This is probably made by HTC on purpose, to keep the demo-phone look good in stores despite being touched and dropped a lot. As for the real phone - of course it's better for HTC to make us buy a new battery cover for some 15-20 GBP in the distant future. Nothing to blame them a lot about, actually, every company does smth like that
New battery cover, sir?

Just as I said ))
...but hey! It's good that they do exist!
Jus received mine, very good quality for the price I must say!
I'm not really worried about the stitches, they look harmless to me
I received the KLD case off ebay not too long ago. The case came about a week after I placed an order (this includes weekend days). So first things first, the case is well made. I remember someone had expressed that the back stitching may be of concern but I looked at it and it looks like it will hold up just fine with moderate use.
I mentioned in my other review thread that this case is a major disappointment. The reason being is because I bought the case thinking it would have the auto wake/sleep feature. This case does NOT support this feature. Because of the lack of magnets in this case, it leads to a second major disappointment. The cover even when closed will flap around if you were to have it in your bag.
Because it is PU leather, it does smell VERY plastic like.
Finally, I chose to have the white option, if you take a look at the link, you will see that its a very pure white color. However, the cover I received is beige NOT white at all.
In conclusion, do I like this case? No, not at all. I can't recommend it to anyone. This is a cheaper alternative to the Samsung Book Cover (though I don't know if the official book cover supports the wake/sleep feature).
Pros
-Slim
-Nice cut outs (look at pics below)
-Not too expensive- I paid only $16.50 (free shipping)
Cons
-Does NOT have wake/sleep feature
-Cover does NOT stay in place because of the lack of magnets
-Bad smell even after leaving it in the open for 3 days
-The case I bought is WHITE, this case is clearly BEIGE
I give the case a 4/10. The quality is great but the lack of features that many other cases have for a cheaper price hampers it's overall rating.
Finally my search for a perfect slim case isn't over- I bought yet another case from Moko- that looks great. I'll post up yet another review when it's out. Check it out here! :

Update in Post #18- 3 New Pics to show how it is after a week of use.
Thanks for sharing this great review! It is too bad the KDL wasn't very good after all. And I'm surprised it did not support wake/sleep.

That does look really promising! It clearly has a magnetic closure and uses magnets to hold the stand in place. And I like the broad assortment of colors.
A few other observations (about the MoKo Ultra Slim Lightweight Smart-shell Stand Case), just from looking at the pics, etc. on Amazon:
It appears that the shell is a bit thicker than other cases I've considered. In fact, it seems from the pictures like the shell is thick enough that the camera lens is actually recessed (instead of sticking out); I'm not 100% certain as it could just be an unintentional optical illusion. But if the camera lens is recessed that could be nice for protecting the lens a little bit. On the other hand though I do wonder about added weight and how that will feel (ie, if it will be noticeably heavier?). The Galaxy Note 8 weighs 11.7 ounces (338g) and I believe the official Samsung Book Cover weighs 3.2 ounces (90.72g), which makes for 14.9 ounces total (just shy of a 1lb, which seems like a decently light amount). The Amazon page indicates a weight of the MoKo at 5oz, which (if correct) is just a little heavier than the Samsung case, so hopefully not enough to be noticeable.
I don't see any mention of wake/sleep being supported. But I know you mentioned the other Moko case you tried did support wake/sleep, so hopefully this one does too!
I wonder how well the PU leather is going to hold up to folding the front cover flat against the back. It seems that would put a bit of stress on the part that will be bending around the case so I wouldn't be surprised to see cracking start rather quickly in that area (depending on the quality).
I just noticed in one of the pictures (the one for the white color, where a hand is holding the case in the air, demonstrating the magnets holding the stand in a triangle) that the GN8 is popping out of the case a little (in the bottom right of the picture). Hopefully that was just an oversight on their part as they were swapping out cases for the pictures, and not actually indicative of a loose fit. Pictures of the other colors appear to be fitting snugly in those same poses.
I look forward to your next review! I think I'm down to considering the above Moko and the Poetic Slimline (mentioned by someone else). I'll keep my fingers crossed that this Moko will be significantly better than the other one you reviewed! :fingers-crossed:
Hey pluginalong I actually contacted the seller before purchasing, they said they support the sleep/wake function. It won't be shipping till next week but my current Moko case should hold till then

Hey, that's great to hear--this case really sounds promising!
I have one of these as well. I got a light blue one. I really like it except for the lack of magnets. I WANT sleep wake and would like for it to stay in place. Also I found that if I put it in my bag and it is kind of full it will turn the screen on and run the battery down.
Thats total crap if sellers are saying these things are "smart wake" when they aren't. I was hoping mine would arrive soon, but if it isn't going to work then looks like I'll be looking elsewhere.

Wow, that really sucks man! It is kind of mind-blowing that they would fight it when they clearly advertise the product as having a feature that it obviously lacks. I hope things work out for you!
I guess the only to do is check your consumer law...if you are going through paypal hammer home that it is misleading or deceptive. You should be ok though. Good luck

and it is a major disappointment - totally agree with OP. But, does anyone know exactly where the magnet should go? It should be possible to attach a slim, rubberized magnetic on the case in a discrete manner so as not to make the case totally ugly but yet turn on the Note?

I think from some videos I saw (a few weeks ago) of the official Samsung Book Cover case that it seemed like the magnet must be somewhere on the left side as the wake/sleep seemed to be triggered by movement on the left side as opposed to the right side being lifted (which perhaps might be done in order avoid errant wake/sleep events since the right side can slide around some on some cases?). My guess is that the magnet would be somewhere within the bezel area and not under the screen proper. The reason being is that the Wacom technology works in part through electromagnetic fields (if I'm remembering correctly) and I would imagine that a wake/sleep magnet would somehow complicate that. So if you have a magnet to experiment with you could try running it around the bezel (starting with the left side) and see if you can trigger the wake/sleep. If it were me I'd start in the middle of the left bezel (when in portrait orientation).
If you don't have a magnet on hand you could also try various metal objects that are capable of carrying a magnetic charge as some technology works by responding the disruption/change of a magnetic field, which doesn't actually require another magnet, but just an object with enough of a hint of its own natural field to cause a change (I believe this is how some stoplights work here in the US, where there are wires in the ground to notify the stoplight a car is waiting, because the car disrupts/changes the electromagnetic field of the wire). I'm not totally sure if this principal can work on this small of a scale or not, but it could be worth a shot for some limited experiments.

Looks like my hunches were incorrect.
I have just ordered this one from ebay:
cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=121107475861
(I cannot post links yet, you'll need to copy and paste in your web browser)
It is cheap and looks slim and similar to the KLD one and it has a magnetic tab to keep it securely closed.
According to the description it supports "auto sleep and wake up when close and open" but I am not sure if I believe it. I can always open a dispute if it is not true

Yea I thought so too when I ordered. If it's the KLD you ordered, I can definitely confirm that it doesn't support that function. I FINALLY got my sale disputed
Update
Even though I didn't like this case, I wanted to use it because it was slim. So while I waited for the Moko Shell (which I use now) I used the KLD everday for a solid week.
3 more things I've noticed that makes it even worse!
1- extended use with the cover as a stand eventually makes the cover pop up and as far as I've seen, it hasn't been able to flatten back out properly
2- Because this case lacks the sleep/wake function, you have to turn on the tablet with either the power button (or home). Unfortunately, I guess KLD really wanted to add that protection there- so there's a bezel above the power button- but this makes pressing the volume & power button a lot more difficult!
3- Finally, folding the cover back is also a problem. The stitching for the cover looks nice but when it's folded, it makes the tablet poof up (notice the rather big gap in the folded area- not present on other cases). Writing on the tablet with the cover folded back causes a "bouncy" feel.
Check out the pics to see what I'm talking about

Thanks for the additional followup and pics! All 3 of those things are very helpful to know!
Unfortunately, I ordered the KLD case a few days before reading this thread. It seems nice enough. Its the style I like. But I only popped my Note in and out of it. I didn't use it for any length of time. I had also ordered a Rock Mix case and that's what I'm using. It does have sleep/wake function. I filed a complaint with the KLD seller and he initially offered a full refund if I sent the case back (with him paying shipping) or $5.00 refund. He then sent another offer to refund me 100% and let me keep the case if I gave him positive feedback. I accidently accepted the $5.00 offer. That's fine though because I wanted to keep the case. It's stored away as a backup.
Hey Everyone!
So, I just bought one of this bumpers, there was not much info online on the fit, which had me on the fence, I pretty much narrowed down to Kewers Aluminium Case (Nicely detailed here ) and the Devilcase Aluminium bumper (Reviewed here but missing shots of the inside and fit of the case ). In the end I veered to the Devilcase, buying from Amazon, as the design seemed more clean to me.
I wanted to find pictures of a black Z1c with a black Devilcase bumper, nowhere to be found! Here is to fixing that.
First, I paid on a Tuesday, and the package came trough to my address at CA Friday the same week, despite USPS saying it would make it the next Wednesday, extra kudos on the shipping speed, with a hat tip to USPS.
Packaging was quite nice, no flimsy cardboard, first quality packaging and good presentation, see here:
The back of the packaging has a reference to "Z1 Compact Series is specifically designed for HTC Butterfly with high quality aluminium alloy.", so we know what file was duplicated to work on the packaging for this
Nagging asides, moving on to the actual case, I wont go trough the contents of the box, you can that see here: http://vimeo.com/92916925
One bright thing is that the box actually includes 2 replacement screws, I hope I dont need them never, but its nice to have 2 chances.
This is why the existing reviews didnt quite cut it for me, the "inside" of the bumper. The buttons are held with some plastic tape and while it looks somewhat shaky, taking into account its only supposed to hold the buttons while you install the bumper. Plus the metal buttons do not hit the buttons on the phone!
The inner side has small soft pieces of foam or some similar material, in several places, mainly where there is a beginning or end of section or a corner, this is one of the things I was looking for on online reviews! I dont want the bumper denting or damaging the phone just because.
Details on the fit of the inside, zoom in! pretty nice design and machining.
(No, I havent used the screen / back protectors that came with the bumper, yes I failed miserably installing that one, nope it doesn't bother me)
Details on the fitting:
Labeling, fair enough, not tacky as "Designed by spSOMEigen in California"
I Really liked the way the Devilcase bumper has a small indent to ease pulling the tabs on the flaps! plus this intent is perfectly centered to them, big kudos to the Industrial Design team.
The speaker looks even better with the case, plus it doesnt get muffled if you rest it on you while watching a video in bed or in a comfy couch, Kewers folks where worried about this and their design shows, the Devilcase gets it done somehow, looking much better IMO.
Plenty of room around the magnetic charger connector, I dont have a dock, so cant tell for the included plate, but seems the bumper has great clearance for allocating the connector.
Lots of space around the headphones connector, so huge plugs shouldnt be a problem, extremely flat connectors also cut it.
A great case, at $57 USD Shipped its definitively on the premium side, but I feel its worth it, you get 2 sets of screen / back protectors, 2 acohol cleaning pads and 2 stickers to peel off any gunk from your screen, 2 sets of back decals (faux carbon fiber and even fauxer leather), spare screws and a microfiber pad.
Heck you even get confirmation from them on their Plus page when your package ships and quick feedback.
Now... should I get the red one too? Looks amazing!
Update:
4 months in, and some drops later, the case is holding up greatly, as expected the material absorbed much / all of the damage, in some cases not even loosing its finish.
nice review bro :good:
thank you for the review, but i still find it a little expensive...can someone find it for a cheaper price?

Another concern I had, surprisingly the button became easier to push than without it!
Have you had signal loss with this? Aluminum bumpers are infamous for causing signal degradation.
Of course they're not available now...

From what I read from their website the cutout on top of the phone (Beside the Headphone Jack) on 2nd last picture, "Compared to the Z1 devilcase had better signal reception because of the cutout. However all aluminium case will cause signal degradation and difference only how large is the degradation.
So far I've only seen one aluminium case from (Kickstarter) claimed their case with 0% (or close to 0%) signal loss.

I havent ran any scientific tests, but I do feel a slight degradation on wifi, cant tell on 3G/4G, there things have been normal.
As for the degradation, a part of my house that is particularly spotty for wifi became more unreliable, but to be fair it was already flaky to begin with.

I would suggest pinging them directly at their plus page (Referenced in OP), they might have a back order or something.
Since it's a metal case, do you think it would help in chock protection if you drop the phone? I kind of like slim plastic/ruberized cases that will absorb some shock if it lands on a corner for instance.

I think the case will just dent, plus there are some soft pads inside of the case, that might take some of the energy, not much as other hybrid cases with metal/plastic thou.
For what it is, the metal should do fine, I rather replace the 50 bucks bumper than having the metal frame dented in my phone
I had this bumper on my phone for a few weeks but took it off due to increased battery drain from the loss of signal. I never did any clear tests but as soon as I took the case off my battery life was normal again and my reception was better. I really wanted to like this case but I already have horrible signal here and this made phone unusable in my garage.
The DevilCase Z1c bumper is restock now.

hi guys, as state above i had got my hands on these case from alumnia and hacoa. Both are exclusively sold in japan for the z1c. I have contacted the sellers if they would ship oversea but unfortunately they wont ship to where i am. But luckily my brother recently came over to visit the family from Japan so i asked him if could grasp them for me.
1. The alumina bumper case is a beautiful crafted aluminium bumper style cover. The workmanship is top notch and had full cut out for both charging port and usb. It came with minimal instruction and all in Japanese. So far i have no problem with the signal issue with wifi and cellular. It is my first ever metal bumper case so i can not compare to other brand out there but i am very please with the purchase. However due to its design, The bottom part of the phone is slightly more bulky compare to the top it might take some time to use to. and some edges are quite sharp (the top corners), gave abit of uncomfortable feeling while holding for a long period of time. The buttons are very tactile and easy to press especially the power and camera buttons are so much easy to use now. The volume keys might need some more force to press due to sony design (slightly raised for both end). So far it is a great product from alumina.
2. I was set my eyes on the alumina, until i came across this product from hacoa with their wooden product for gadgets and appliances. It looks very nice and solid in the hands. i can feel the wood grains and warm feel everytime i hold the phone. no problem for signal or functionality of the phone so far, however it is quite expensive for a snap in case. But considering the materiel and build quality, i would say i can justify the price.
Enough with mumble jumble words, here are some shots that i took with my ip4 (yes i know it is crap but cant access the z1c due to updating the firmware at this time).
That is all for now folks, have a good day.
Great! Simply great. This case is top notch - they also have a dock for it. Very pricey, but hell it's beautiful!
Congrats and thank you for the review!
I have my eye also on Alumina case, looks really good but is about 65e shipped to Finland BEFORE taxes :'( Think i will still order it just because i really really really want it!!
Lähetetty minun D5503 laitteesta Tapatalkilla
you will not disappoint with this bumper hey. it gives the phone a new look and feel to it. it is pricey compare to other cheapo out there but it is made in japan with precision in mind somewhat justify the price. Enjoy my friend!
Hi, has anyone got a link for where to get the alumina case? it looks fab
here you go my friend http://shop.alumania.net/ but i guess it is worth to email them to see what is the oversea shipping [email protected] , i had mine purchased from my brother who flew over to visit us from japan so i was not sure if they would ship outside of japan. Good luck and you will not be disapointed with their products
Well, let's see how this develops...
As for a case, I got these two for starters:
https://www.amazon.de/Spigen%C2%AE-Elastisch-Stylisch-Handyh%C3%BClle-Schutzh%C3%BClle-RA-Schwarz/dp/B07B9SKC5K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1527018512&sr=8-1&keywords=motorola+g6+plus+h%C3%BClle+spigen&dpID=510FXckhR3L&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch
https://www.amazon.de/iBetter-Shock...pID=51XML3FlA7L&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch
I like the Spigen better, they do quality cases for a reasonable price. Look and feel is way better than the iBetter.
Hi @Howlbeck,
I don't recommend the first one... I have a similar one for my Moto G5+ and it makes the phone very big. It's pure plastic!
For the second case, it may be thinner. So if you purchase it, please comment about it.
Any idea for a good screen protector?
Regards.
i bought mine like the first one and its really thin but it can absorb some falls and protects camera .

Sure! here you are:
I cant take a photo of my phone wearing it because i havent other device.
Same here - only difference: my one has "spigen" plus the logo imprinted. The other 2 pics are the IBetter.

To be honest, Manos:
I don't like cases at all, but I need them to give me some protection for my clumsyness... ;o)
When I'm at home or at stationary work, the case(s) comes off.
The one Motorola includes with the device is ok, but... Big but.
I do like soft, transparent cases - but they tend to fade to yellowish pretty quick, doesn't matter if you are smoking yourself or not.
As there is no soft transparent case available as of yet - the Spigen it is.

Me too!
I'll continue searching for a very lighty case.
Thank you!
Can anyone suggest me a case that adds grip to the phone since the glass back makes it very slippery? Too bad dbrand's grip case is not available for the Moto g6 plus .
As there are not many cases available right now, I think any case gives you a better grip currently. It's a matter of getting used to handling it without a case - as mentioned above, being inside I don't use cases - only while being outdoors as mentioned above.
As for cases making the phone bigger - well
The G6+ already is big, so I don't really care about a few more mms as long as it protects the device properly. Spigen did a very good job in the past, so I tend to coming back.
Compared to our Nexus 6P (Huawei) - this is "smaller" overall, barely bigger (taller, mostly) than the old Nexus 5X (LG) but - between Mrs. and myself, one of us will be using it. For an entry/budget Project Fi phone priced at $199 + tax, free shipping, I am very pleased with how it feel, look & setting it up, waiting for the case to arrive (delayed in transit ... by a day)
This is what I ordered, found it on Amazon - not a major "brand" name but appeared to provide the extra protections that we usually look for, and should not be too bulky. Otherwise, it does feel slippery especially with one-handed mode and we are know, sooner or later, it will be dropped accidentally - a little extra help on the corners & edges won't hurt. If a better & nicer case come up, I don't have a problem spending more or having an extra one around.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DCKVM5B/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Once I get that, will put up pictures & have a side-by-side with the N6P (and, most likely, before I ship out the N5X ... battery is starting to not hold its charge, taking advantage of the "generous" trade-in allowance valued at $95, not bad - net cost to get the G6 is something I can live with, i.e. minus NFC, no G.Pay)
Been using Supershieldz's Glass screen protector and pleased with it, got 2 of them, so always have a spare around, just in case - put it on easily this afternoon, almost got it perfectly but at 98.5% - missed 2 spots with tiny dust trapped, but, who's going to notice it when device is powered on - only notice it when screen is dark/blank or powered off. Here's what they look like now.
Hi,
Regarding the screen protector, someone has used this "full screen" version?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/SDTEK-Moto...ns&keywords=SDTEK+Motorola+Moto+G6+Plus&psc=1
The other option is the "classic" glass:

I like to know the difference.

The first one has the cutoff around the earpiece, speaker & front camera openings, covered the front of the smartphone all around (and it's priced higher) ... should be precision cut - careful alignment & placement when installing is a must.
The second one is easier for them to produce with the simple cut out, and "could" leave some of the digitizer/screen area "less" protected ... installation is basically the same but a very slight misaligned placement should still be fine during the installation process. It's similar to the one that I just installed yesterday - with a protective bumper case over it, the odds of scratching or damaging the Gorilla glass is still fairly low. Plus, I make it a habit to always order an extra spare & set it aside, just in case - the old one that I used on the Nexus 5X has a lifetime & free replacement warranty, no questions asked - just proof of it being worn/damaged & they quickly mail a new one at no charge (worth paying a little more for those brands upfront).
On a side note, this Moto G6 ... is "cute" and slim, feel "small" in the hand but with the 5.7" widescreen ratio, is very nice for the price level - too slippery to use without a case when holding it (especially with the glass back.)

The full one has the black border on it, which also covers up the works motorola which I like...here is a pic of my wifes phone with the screen protector and an amazon case
Screen Protector x2 $6.98: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2X-ZenTech...ector-Guard-For-Motorola-Moto-G6/332666677282
Case $8.98 : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07B4YHKTP
My Amazon G6 case arrived, and it came also with a clip-on face plate for belt carry ... something that is "nice" but I dislike, the hardware/spring doesn't look solid & could break - won't be nice to drop this at a height of several feet, unlike using one of those bulky Otterbox. Not going to use it - I either carry mine in a pocket or otherwise, use a BDU-style canvas pouch (in black).
Here are pictures of the G6, it's in the middle, for comparison with the Nexus 6P (Huawei) and the (LG) Nexus 5X (without the same style protective case) "naked" on the right for comparison.
The HD glass protector do leave a little area around the front surface of the G6 without "coverage" - dusts & lints, dirts could collect around the rim of the case/frame, so a periodic cleaning will be necessary, see the 2 close-up pictures.
We also have the old Motorola Nexus 6 and that's "big" compared to these - the G6 is about the same size as my dual-sim Huawei Honor 5X which I use for travel - the Moto G6 is very comfortable & feel solid being held in one hand with the case, providing a non-slippery hold ... and, it slide right into my old canvas belt pouch for "rough" day-to-day carry outside.

Keep in mind the full ones only have the adhesive around the outer edges and can pop off easily if you don't have on a case that protects the edges. But at the cost, they last a long while in my experience and look great!
