[BRAINSTORM] [IDEA] Multi-Facebook - General Topics

Lets face it. A lot of people have multiple Facebook accounts.
Either 1 serious, 1 for games, 1 for dating, and that list goes on...
I can't seem to find a single app that lets you manage multiple Facebook accounts.
Neither is there an app that lets you manage multiple Facebook messengers.
Could someone please create a single app that would let you have 2+ Facebook accounts open at once.
Same way you would have 2+ separate accounts open on different browsers at the same time on the same computer.
Ex.
Account 1 - Chrome
Account 2 - Opera
Account 3 - IE
etc etc etc
There should be 1 app... that lets you manage all accounts..
There should also be a secondary app that lets you manage strictly for messengers of separate accounts
the menu button would bring up a list of the connected accounts and at the bottom a link to the settings options.. and so on..
Please stay on topic. Thank you.

"Facebook does NOT allow one person to have multiple accounts under multiple emails.
Having multiple accounts does not refer to having several pages and/or groups. It refers to owning two or more Facebook accounts under two or more emails.
If Facebook discovers you have two or more accounts under different email addresses, you’ll be asked to close one. If you don’t, they have the option of banning you from Facebook. Here is the link to the Facebook information about this"
"Manage Your Account » Confirm Your Identity
You're only allowed to have one Facebook account. This account must list your real name. This way, everyone everyone on Facebook knows who they're interacting with. For more details, please review our Community Standards."
You will find these in the facebook help section.

By having multiple facebook accounts you have defeated the purpose of it. The fact that facebook has been really restricting in terms of information sharing is to avoid users doing that; my point is that you could set up rules to show posts, pictures, comments only to certain groups, and thus you can have one account and manage the eavesdroppers.

[Q] Dual Facebook accounts possible?

I accidentally regged the same account in both Facebook and 'FB for Sense" (it felt logical at the time, but I have a secondary acc for work). Is it possible to replace one of the two accounts with the correct one, without losing the now synced contacts? They are now part of my merged contacts and I don't want it to touch them, if possible.
I'm actually asking two different things, but so closely related that I figured I'd only post a single thread.
1. Can I have two separate FB accounts on the phone?
2. Can I replace one currently active account, without losing the synced contacts? Losing only the "connection info" linked to the old FB account isn't a problem, as long as I don't lose the actual person from my contacts.
As a follow-up on Q2, if that is possible, which FB-app should I use to replace the acc, FB or 'FB for Sense'? Will either of them affect my contacts less?
Seriously, nobody knows?
I can understand nobody really having the need for several FB accounts, but not so much that nobody actually knows if it's possible or not, or which (if any) of the two standard clients would be best to use to setup the secondary account.
I'm struggling to get ONE facebook account to work and sync properly.
I only have about 20 phone contacts, close friends and family, but I have about 300 facebook friends.
Every time I try adding my facebook account, all 300 of my facebook friends appear when I press the PHONE button to make a call.
Is there any way of linking my 20 phone contacts to their facebook accounts, without all the other fb friends appearing in the phonebook?

there are two ways to do it. first would be to go under your contacts, hit the menu button on your phone, view and uncheck everything that links to facebook.. another way is go to your facebook app, go to main page by clicking the back button once, then hit the menu button on your phone, settings and go to the bottom where it says other settings facebook sync contacts and select "remove facebook data anc hit ok.

Neither of those work, they either leave loads of FB contacts in the phonebook, or remove all the facebook data including the links to my phone contacts.
I just want the 20 people in my phonebook to be linked to their facebook profiles.

Is there anyway to hide specific facebook contacts?

Got mango now and added facebook however I have around 200 friends at the moment.
I'd rather only see about half of those when browsing the people hub, is there anyway to get rid of the people I'm not interested in. I dont want to delete them from my facebook but just dont want to see them when browsin through my list.

You either filter them all out of the People list, or you filter none.
A solution would be to create a contact (if one does not already exist) for the people you want to see, and link that contact to their Facebook profile. Once you get all your Facebook people linked to a contact, you can choose to filter out Facebook contacts, and while your Facebook-only contacts disappear, anyone who has been linked to an account will remain in your list and provide you with Facebook info/feeds/photos.
Lovely thanks that will work, I have pretty much everyones number that I would want to keep up to date with on facebook anyway.
Wonder if its something they will add at a later date, I mean some people have 500-1000 contacts in FB, that would be a nightmare.
Another way is to make use of groups. First hide all your FB contacts. This will hide them from your main list, but the nice thing about groups is that you can still add FB contacts to them, even if they are hidden.
I actually use a combination of these methods. For FB friends I am in touch with often and want to see in my main list, I'll add a Windows profile so they appear in the main list. The ones that I don't want in the main list, but still need to contact once in a while, are added to a relevant group. And then there are the ones that I only contact via FB. They are hidden completely, but I can still find them via the search function and check up on them that way.

K9 Email 1 exchange account 2 inboxes?

Hi! Sorry to interrupt the ICS frenzy but I would really appreciate your help.
Anybody using K9 for an Exchange Account? I keep getting 2 inboxes for the same 1 exchange account. Tried setting it up twice but same result. Anybody have this problem? Even better if you know a fix! I don't want to use stock email because then I must consent to giving IT dept authority to remotely wipe my phone whenever they feel like it ( or mess up).
Thanks!
There is another thread about duplicate emails, but my issue was only with the Unified Inbox. What was happening is that my Exchange account Inbox only shows one email being downloaded and displayed in the Inbox, but two of every email would list in the Unified Inbox. On K9 Mail's site, Issue 3486 described my issue exactly. Someone there posted a solution, and I responded on that site with a detailed way of getting around the issue. I thought I would repost here as several fellow Android users here may come across this issue.
The main issue is that Exchange accounts may list two Inbox folders that are synced, and therefore two of every email show up in the Unified Inbox. Unchecking the "Unify" option for the second inbox gets around two emails displaying.
To do this, first open K9 to the account selection screen.
- Select the account that shows the duplicate (most likely your Exchange account).
- Bring up the menu using the Menu button on your Android device, and select "Folder List"
- If two Inbox items are listed, select and hold the second "Inbox". Then select "Folder Settings".
- Uncheck the last item in the Folder Settings ("Unify").
->If two Inbox items are NOT listed, there may be a different folder with two items listed or your problem is different (sorry!).
I also turned off syncing of the second Inbox folder so that I also am not downloading any items to it. I hope this helps.
I don't use the unified inbox for precisely that reason. I have my email set to poll every 5 minutes.
I long pressed the bottom inbox to get its settings and unchecked every box but it must still by syncing because each incoming email first shows up as 1 in the notification bar then quickly changes to 2.
Thanks! I'm surprised they haven't fixed this.

[Q] Merging contacts from Phone, Facebook, Google, etc into 1 single contact on phone

I'm trying to figure out how I can reliably merge all the duplicate contacts I have to a single contact on the phone. What I'm trying to achieve is to be able to have:
1) 1 Single contact per person (not "linked" or "joined" but one single contact)
2) combine replace the older pictures with newer ones
3) Pull Facebook ID for use with Contacts-sync (so I can get 720x720 contact pictures instead of whatever the facebook app pulls)
Example: If i have 4 Joe Smith contacts (1 on the phone, one from facebook [i know, it's not editable], one from google, and one from contacts sync), I want to be able merge them all so that there is only 1 Joe Smith contact that has all the information from all 4 contacts so I can unsync facebook and google out of it.
I want to be able to pull the facebook ID number for the contacts so it can resync the picture as needed as well as reduce the clutter that I have.
Why? Facebook's current concept in syncing "existing contacts" seem to be the same thing as sync ALL contacts. It downloads ALL my friends info from Facebook and puts it in there but hides it. I'd prefer to be able to just get info for those people who is on my phone contacts and no one else.
I also want less syncing happening on my phone. As of this posting, Facebook still downloads low res pictures and ignores its own sync rules.
Does anyone here have any suggestions as what I can do to merge the info I need so I can unlink Facebook and just have contacts-sync pull the photos instead?
Thanks!
P.S: for those who are using the XDA app and can't see my signature, this is on the Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300 (International) phone.

Check your contacts app settings
multiple/duplicate contact
I have checked and know all the settings ....... the thing is in earlier versions even though we select setting . contacts display to all we used to see only single entry in contact list expanding which showed all the accounts that particular contact existed in like in whatsapp, telegram, skype etc . and selecting the asociated account we could directly communicate through that medium
now we have join all the duplicate entries manually to be able to see the contact in a single entry showing the other accounts it exists in
