I have this problem with my current callscreen.
Problem - Whenever I take out the phone from my pocket to receive an incoming phone call, The messaging templates from below get dragged up and a message template gets sent before I can even answer the call!
It's annoying.
Any fix for this? A new caller screen? or modified phone.apk without messaging templates?
Thanks in advance.

Make all the text empty.
I mean,it's somewhere settings,select each text,set it empty.
Might fix it.

My problem is I don't want it.
I want to remove those message templates.
because they get dragged up and sent (while I take out my ringing phone from my pocket) before I even get to answer the phone.
Yes you can remove the text.
Oh oh,I remember,it's somewhere near fixed dialing numbers something.
There is no way to change that, that's sony ui.
Just remove the text from messages.
I don't think the message will be sent if you by mistake select a empty text.
Plus I don't know if there is a solution.

Thanks man. I got it.
phone settings > call settings > select SIM > select SIM 1> reject calls with messages.
Cleared it all and it works.
As for cm11. there is no dual SIM support!

Currently i recieve lots of texts, i've noticed that I can not reply straight away when my text messages are set to show like a conversation because my htc hd 2 has to load all the texts. I was wondering if someone could make a tweak where it only showed the last 5 or 10 messages so i can reply instantly
Yes. 2nd that. That is the only problem with HD2 now for me
would appreciate this too
I've had a quick look at the registry, but couldnt find anything useful.
I dunno if its set in a manila-file or in the messagingapplication itself.
Would be nice to tweak this...
+1 to this feature,
with my HTC P3600 I had sms routing and it only showed the 10 last messages,
if you wanna see older messages you could press, 'see history',
+1 . will be great that tweak
Awesome, glad to see some people agree! I have no idea how to do it so...

One way to overcome the delay until a fix comes out, is as soon as you open the conversation, click 'send' and a warning window pops up asking if you want to send a blank text, select 'no' and there you have the whole conversation loaded instantly. Plus I noticed last night when I disabled the sense ui and installed Spbmobile shell 3.5.2, the Htc messaging app will still take a while to load the conversation but at least you can type out your reply while its doing it.

Oh i see, thanks! I will try the blank text thing for now
I tend to read my sms from manila then click the "new sms" icon and basically write a new sms rather than clicking reply. Until a fix is found I have found this the quicker way to reply to sms.
Just as soon as you open the conversation, click 'tap here to compose' and you'll be able to compose. But be quick
Why should we work on things that HTC is supposed to FIX [email protected]!$

Here is the Sprint VVM.zip. Thanks to c00ller for that good tip. I'm also adding the Sprint navigation app for anyone who wants it. Enjoy!

Flash it from recovery like a rom, and then use this to block the annoying texts!!!

What launcher are you using? Because this has nothing to do with the power control widget, nor does it affect it in any way.

That is correct. Blacklist the messages and you won't see them or have a notification sound or image in the bar.

The new voicemail showing up on boot is a CM6 issue with some phones. Nothing I can do about that, some phones just have that ghost notification
so i flashed the voicemail zip the other day i got the app. but it doesn't work. If i call my cell phone with another phone it rings and i don't pick up. Than instead of saying you have reached the sprint voicemail box and so on it just says the person you have called is not in service and sometimes it doesn't say anything and just hangs up. Also i put my number in as the voicemail number and if i call voicemail from my phone it takes me there and says to put my passcode in, so its working but not if someone calls me. Why am i having this problem?

This is a first for me. I can't find the actual App so I can click and listen to my Visual Voicemail. Do I have to call to get my messages, or are they downloaded to the phone and I'm just missing where they are?? Thanks.

Handcent - VVM
I have installed the Sprint VVM and Handcent. When I get a voicemail I still get the text message through the messaging app that comes with the rom. So, it does not have a chance to block through Handcent. Any ideas...

In handcent, long press on the text thread from the VVM number. Select blacklist, and the notifications from the messages will stop, along with the thread itself being hidden.
I did that but I still get the messages through the normal messaging not Handcent. Do I have to do this in a certain order? I have tried rebooting the phone. I had someone text me to see where the message would come to and it shows up in Handcent but the notification in the notification bar takes me to the normal messaging not Handcent.
Can you disable the stock messaging in the rom?
Thanks,
David

Go into your messages app, hit menu, options, and then uncheck notifications. That way you don't get 2 notifications for every message, you only get handcent's.
HI Gurus,

Vasu,
What ROM are you running?
I'm on 2.3.6.
When you activate the messaging app, the menu capacitive key on the left lower hand corner of the phone brings up the setttings.
Message center # is there.
Hi, I guess ROM is the android version if it is then i'm on 2.3.7
Thanks for your reply.

2.3.7 is MIUI?
I'm not sure if MIUI MMS app has been changed.
I would assume that the same settings would be there.
Do you have the option to open the menu settings when you activate messaging?
settings in mms at right lower corner
mms center # change upper mid screen
When I open the settings, I do not find the Message center option after "Manage SIM card messages".

hmmm, I'm not sure how to advise you on that one.
You seem to have a different mms.apk for miui.
you can use titanium backup and back up your original mms and try this one.
It is pulled from UCLB1 stock. I don't know if it will work on 2.3.7

heartbreaker2020in I've been in that predicament before, it happens every time I flash a new ROM (it's not ROM's fault, sometimes your SIM can't fill out all the blank spaces).
After a lot of reading about that issue I have figured out how solve it:
1) In you dialer dial *#*#4636#*#* (this will take you to an low level configuration/setup screen)
2) Choose "Phone Information"
3) Scroll down and you will see an blank field next to the "SMSC" word (this is the message center that you are looking for)
4) Once there, hit the button "Refresh"
5) Now hit the button that says "Update"
6) Hit your back button twice, and...
7) Done! You can send a receive text messages again.
This procedure grabs the info of your SIM that was lost during the flash/wipes/etc.
This is how I fix the "no text" issue every time I flash a new ROM.
I wish you luck.
Propmter
Propmter,
Thanks for your reply.
I have tried what you have suggested, and updated the no in the field and updated it. But when I come out and try to send a text still the same issue, not able to send the text and says "Message not sent".
So I get back to the settings and its blank again.
Vasu.
Vasu,
No any number has appeared when you hit the "REFRESH" button?

For the first time some no has come when I refreshed. But later I updated it with the correct Message center no. and later on when I click refresh the same no appears but with some many zeros padded to the left...
Vasu.
Believe it or not that wierd number is what your phone needs... For example when I hit the refresh button y have a number like this 01080 when in my country the telephone numbers has this format: + 503 XXXX XXXX.
So the first time has not sense but when I use that number everything works fine.
I'm afraid that is the only help that I can provide to you. I wish you find a correct answer for your issue,
Best regards,
Prompter

Hi friends,
I just got GTAB2 7 and use it for couple of weeks. There is something weird happening lately, the messaging and phone icons show numbers when I got sms and missed calls but after i opened both apps and read the logs and sms and the number shown in both icons still there. Then i removed all logs and sms and still the number shown in both icons still there. If i restart the device than the number is gone from both icons. Can anyone help me what to do to solve this "a bit irritating" issue? This is something that sometimes happen in Blackberry devices.
Big thanks! :good:

Hi there... I had a similar problem... I did the following and it help me...
>> go to settings
>>Select the option Application Manager
>>Select the option 'All' which is next to 'downloaded' & 'running'
>>Select the application 'BadgeProvider' and click Clear Data...
>>Restart the phone...
This had helped me... Let me know if it works for you...
Unfortunately its still the same and even stranger. After following ur way, sometimes the widget doesnt show any number of unopened sms, sometimes show the number that not disappear after opening the sms.
After further investigation, the number will disappear after 1-2 hours. So i assume the widget and the app communication doesnt run very well. Or maybe something else.
Thx anyway and hope someone can help

Just updated my GS3 to 4.1.1 about an two hours ago. Everything seemed great with the exception that when I receive text messages or i miss a call they no longer appear on the lock screen like they did before the update. I would be able to swipe the text or the missed call on the lock screen to go directly to it. I've tried everything I could think of to fix this problem. What am I doing wrong? Thank you for any help.

Please search before you ask questions. This has been answered many times....
use Root Explorer to look in "/system/csc" you should see a file named "customer.xml". Rename it to "customer.xml.bak" and this is brings back the lockscreen notification bubbles
