I just got GTAB2 7 and use it for couple of weeks. There is something weird happening lately, the messaging and phone icons show numbers when I got sms and missed calls but after i opened both apps and read the logs and sms and the number shown in both icons still there. Then i removed all logs and sms and still the number shown in both icons still there. If i restart the device than the number is gone from both icons. Can anyone help me what to do to solve this "a bit irritating" issue? This is something that sometimes happen in Blackberry devices.

Hi there... I had a similar problem... I did the following and it help me...
>> go to settings
>>Select the option Application Manager
>>Select the option 'All' which is next to 'downloaded' & 'running'
>>Select the application 'BadgeProvider' and click Clear Data...
>>Restart the phone...
This had helped me... Let me know if it works for you...
Unfortunately its still the same and even stranger. After following ur way, sometimes the widget doesnt show any number of unopened sms, sometimes show the number that not disappear after opening the sms.
After further investigation, the number will disappear after 1-2 hours. So i assume the widget and the app communication doesnt run very well. Or maybe something else.

Hello everyone,
Very odd. Whenever I reply (text message) this one person, this is what is already there in my text box on my TB. It's very annoying. It's there automatically, without me entering in ANYthing. So far, it's only happening with one of my contacts, but I haven't tried texting ALL of my contacts yet, so I don't know how widespread the problem is. Does anyone know what's wrong/if there's a fix?

For the fix go ask George's girlfriend.
If I am reading this right, I had a similar problem before.
I entered some text. Had to back out of SMS for some reason. Everytime after that, whenever I open to text the same person, the partially typed message would be displayed even if I had sent a finish version of that message already.
So... did you type in whatever it is that's bugging you before, or did it just appear out of thin air?
I don't remember how I fixed my problem but it was fixed. Try deleting your draft? Rebooting your phone?
Simple, in the mms apk
Down at the bottom there are three or two icons, slide over to the second and open the text message with the text.. now delete it and back out
Repeat the process because sometimes it saves more than one draft
The reason it does this is because the first icon is the "all" tab and so it doesn't allow u to delete drafts
So u have to navigate to the SMS/mms and delete from there

I had the exact same problem. I did the suggestions previously posted. I ended up having to delete the message cache. Do a search on and Android Central for my post since I can't remember exactly what to do.
I found the thread but can't post url. Need a few more posts.
If you haven't got it fixed try:
Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> All. Tap "Messages" and clear cache.
I had this happen.
Go to messaging app, then to menu, then to drafts. Delete the drafts and the problem should be fixed.
Ok, so I get a new text message.
I turn on the phone, notice in the lockscreen someone texted, and see an excerpt of the text. I say, ok, lets slide that messaging icon into the ring and read that message. Well, that message is not there. No message at all from that person. If its someone ive been talking to, it usually shows what i said last only, and their reply is no where to be found, although i just saw it in the lockscreen or the top bar.
I have also tried the handcent sms app to see if it could help me. same thing occurs there too.
ANY idea what could be causing this? It seems to be doing it all the time now. My only way around it is to use google voice only. ugh.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
What's the limit you have set for deleting texts after a certain period? Might have something to do with that.

yeah, ive been using it, but its still a hassle. My txts were coming through just fine the day i got it, then it got wierd afer 48hrs of use.

I am a very similar issue, at first I thought I was missing text messages as well.
I got a few keywords from my friend who sent the missing text and when I did a search, the text was there, but they had the wrong time stamp.
For instance missing text was sent at 17:44, when I search I found the text stamped and threaded in as if it was received at 12:40.
The wrong time is variable, I have found other texts that was stamped received the previous day.
Unfortunately I don't have a solution, and quite frankly am getting really frustrated with this problem.

The name of the thread says it all, i'm not getting any more notification for the sms i get.
No sound, no icon in the notification bar, nothing...
I'm just able to see that i have a new message because i set Handcent to display the number of unread sms on the Launcher Pro dock.
Yes, i have checked all the settings, yes, i have tried other application, yes i have tried to change my rom (tried the stock 2.3.4 , reseted it, didn't work, so i installed the CM 7.1 RC...).
It's kind of annoying, i have to wake up the phone now to check the new sms, it's killing the fun!
Anyone has had the same problem? Anyone knows what could have caused it? I didn't change anything at all, it started with no reason.
FYI i'm french, living in france, Nexus S i9023, and getting pissed off because of that thing XD

ok, one more try.
My provider kept the phone for one month trying to fix the problem, which they did by "updating the software"... bulls**t as it was already the latest version of anything available on my phone. The problem is still here, i can't get any notification for my SMS!!
The thing is, while they had my phone repaired, i used my old HTC Hero... And i got the same trouble! It seems the problem is my google account! BUT i tried with a new adress i created just to check it out... And i had the same problem...
To be honest, i'm fed up having to wake up the phone to check the sms!
I can't find a reason why my notifications are off now!
I tried a non-android phone (samsung player one) and i got all the notifications!
It's driving me crazy, does anyone have a clue???
i had the same issue ever since I bought my Nexus S but the setting for vibrating when you receive a text message is in the Messaging app after you press the menu key and go into settings
Messaging App --> Menu Key --> Settings --> Notification Settings

Helped on JB4.1.2 by turning SMS notification off (yes, it was on by default, but no Notification) and then on again after exiting the sms app.
I had the same problem...
fullwiped, reflashed gapps, worked again.
If you're not willing to wipe, I remember that Go SMS was the only sms.apk able to notify me of incomming text at the time. You may give it a try

with android 4.1.2 this problem is solved
Does anyone have this problem with Whatsapp on Gear S2 normal not 3G version.
On some contacts when I press show all message when I get message its normal I see last message even this contact have more then 100+ messages I see lets say last 20 messages normal , but on some other contacts, where I have 100+ messages when I get message from them I see notification with message what they sent but when I press show more or read all message from that contact it start to load old messages and don't show me last 5 days messages, today is 28.12.2015. on 2 contact I see messages from whatsup till 25.12.2015. and older but can't show me messages from last 25.12. till today ???

Well I just turned on notification for Whatsapp and when someone send me whatsup message I can replay from notification or click view all message from sender , but on few contact view all message have problem because don't show last 10-20 or xx message.
I have the same problem and it's very annoying. If anyone has a solution let us know!

I have the same problem. I think it's a bug. Also when I get a picture in WhatsApp, sometimes I can see the picture and most times cant. Don't understand why.
I've just noticed that if I restart the watch i can see the same notification (that didn't work before) correctly

I am having very strange problem with whatsapp notifications. Although i receive notification on my Gear S2 but the problem is its always the latest notification from the contact. For eg: if a contact sends me hi, how are you, see you at 4 as 3 different messages i only receive "see you at 4" notification on gear s2 which is kind of annoying . Does anyone else have noticed this problem. Is there any way we can see all messages from that contact on gear s2 without going to phone?
Yes same here. Only the latest message. This 400 $ piece of **** is full of bugs. Damn.
After updating to Tizen 4, unread messages are not stored on S3. I get a message and can view it ad hoc on the watch. So far so good. But if I can't read the message right now, it won't be saved. On Tizen 3 I could swipe to the right and there were all accumulated messages, mails etc.. With Tizen 4 there is - despite received messages - "no notifications...choose apps you want to notify".
The fact that unread messages are no longer stored is a deal breaker for me. It's a bug or feature?
I noticed this before Tizen 4.
In the messages and email apps you can see all your phone's messages and emails, however, not just notifications. I guess none from other apps, though.
For sure. If you use the standard apps the message is saved. But the yellow point which shows you missed notifications is not there anymore and the leftside notifications menu is still empty. So i've got no chance to read missed insta, fb, wa, twitter notifications anymore. That ist anoying. Can i switch back to tizen 3? Cause with this issue the watch is useless for me.
I have the same problem, is this a tizen 4 issue or a muss configuration on the user?
For me the notifications just popping up on the watch for 1sec and the watch vibrates, than it's gone and I don't have this orange dot anymore from tizen 3.

Did not find a solution.... I have reseted the watch x times, deleted data from the phone app, synct my settings with one of my colleagues, but it's not working for me. My colleague has tizen 4 as well, but it's working for him.
I found a very simple solution, and surprisingly it worked!
You just have to reboot the watch (lower button pressed until you see the message "reboot").
I just don't understand why a simple reboot does the work and a full reset of both the watch and the phone app doesn't .....
Please let me know if it also works for you!
