Database Info

Port G1-Dream to G2-Magic

It's possible port any of the G1 roms (there are 3-4 roms at least) to our Magics?.
Anyone knows how to make this porting process??

Best G2 Rom is ION, so use that for now

I am using ION, but would be great if someone can add some lenguages to this pack...

you might want to check out spfrance's rom @ http://wiki.smartphonefrance.info/firmware-htcmagic.ashx
it's as fast as ion + some many other nice features
p.s. you can use translate.google.com if you can't understand French)

I'm using spfrance rom too...
it has more languages than ion rom...
we'll wait for the one who give us the key to port....

HELP: upgrading Vodafone 845 (U_8120)

Hello Dears,
i want to upgrade my V845 for the latest stable version and i don't know what is the best Version, i know there's alot of modified versions here but i need your support and your experience with this Phone, i need version support App2sd also i need arabic support for reading only.

i had a lot of rom´s on my v845 and this is the most stable... it´s a 2.1 but is fast and everything work really good...

After searching and testing all Roms i found this Rom very useful
[ROM][Huawei U8120]Android 2.3.7 - Cyanogen Mod 7.1.0 - update 15

Arabic and all languages are available read and write.
Really it have a very good Modification, No Fm Radio Work, No Barcode Scanner, Mounting USB Read Only.
But Totally Very Good Rom

after using this rom and testing another roms, alot of lags and bugs so i decided to go back to the old rom 2.1.
and if i want to upgrade i have to buy a new android phone

Arabic Support?

Any breakthroughs in Arabic support?
As of now, using a third party keyboard to type Arabic results in broken letters, displaying from left-to-right. Arabic is supposed to be RTL, and the letters are supposed to be connected.
I searched, but could only find info for the Droid 3 and original Atrix.

there is a very easy solution for deoxeded roms here http://blog.devasque.com/how-to-apply-patch/
maybe lfaber06 can implement it in his roms

It's very weird, on my Atrix 2 I can view Arabic but the letters are not connected to each other (haven't tried typing)
But on my Droid Xyboard tablet running honeycomb I can view Arabic and the letters are actually connected,
Dunno why Honeycomb is acting different than Gingerbread in that respect

i am not sure if HoneyComb doesn't have the RTL problem . but what i am sure of that is ICS doesn't have any problems with arabic , hopefully we would get official ICS sooner or later but till then we need our amazing developers include the above hack in their roms . i might also try to apply it my self once we get a good working safestrap.

Ill add it to the rom, but i'm not so interested in testing it. I cant read Arabic or any language other then English, I would have no idea if it was working correctly or characters are breaking. try it on your devices if it works, adb pull the files and give them to me. Also tell me what rom you are running.

I can help you testing it or by anything i can do . but bare in mind i am a noob ( proud to be ) . currently i am using the very stock rooted rom.
feel free to pm me any time you want
i can try to install your stock detoxed rom if you added an optional patch with this hack . or just implement it in the rom it self.

Im using Xperia Pro and i want to get everything it offers with better performance than stock.
Any help ? Please dont tell me to try "some" roms, i just want to know if there's any that has everything (preferably JB, but ICS will do)

Why don't u go to the development section for your device and ask them. They would know more than those of us without your device

the front cam won't work in any cyano rom, you should try some of the custom stock roms from hexgore http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1690088

thanks for the fast reply.that was helpful.I wanted to know is there any support of firefox os for the htc chacha cause android sucks bandly on the device.i tried the simulator on my pc and it is like really smooth and light.Hope we get a port.

It's better that you stay in your current ROM, i mean your original ROM. because all of the CyanogenMod ROMs and other ROMs have a lot of problems. now some groups started to Compile a new KERNEL for chacha to solve this kind of problem. we hope that they can find a solution.
but if you have no problem with your ChaCha without Camera, follow this thread:

Stock!
To me the best rom for this device is...the stock rom! because all customs rom have many bugs or lags (like the last 10.1). Unfortunately the stock rom has the famous memory problem...

We don't allow these threads as there's no such thing as a best ROM and these threads usually spiral into disputes and arguments. To find out which ROM is most suitable for you, simply test out different ROMs for yourself.
Also, waiting for people's opinions may mean that you miss out on a specific ROM purely because it wasn't suggested by anyone else.
