Nexus 5 3G - not finding operator - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I bought a new device, Nexus 5 from China
And I have a problem when I insert SIM regardless of which provider I have no reception (no service),
Tried to set the correct APN settings with the provider but it didn't help.
It works out only when I'm working on 2G when I return to 3G again no reception. (No LTE in my country - Israel) .
I can't find any operator after switching to 3G.
when I switch from 3G back to 2G I still can't find operator only after a restart.
Do you have any data about my problem? and how\were can I get service support in my country? Thank you.

Same problem here...anyone?

Well, depending on your operator, 3G frequenties used maybe not the same as the ones uses in China.
I know that USA LTE(4G) isn't the same as here, in France (If not I would have bought it in USA for 349$, that equals to 255€. And I bought my N5 349€ in the play store)
Try to call your operator and ask them for the frequenties they're using ?

Are you sure this method workd for the problem I am having? Please note that I can select 3g but its not getting any network while others have problem where they cannot select 3g. I am asking here before following the video so that I do not mess up my device.

The D820 2G and 3G should work in my country, just without LTE support.
D821 also should work includes support for LTE.

Did you enable 3G in settings/More/Mobile Networks/Preferred Network? Do you have 3G coverage in your area? Tried with another simcard if you can receive 3G? Tried a data factory reset or reflash the rom?

Data factory rest or reflash the factory image in fastboot, if that doesn`t help and your APN settings are correct i would RMA or claim warranty for the device, but first you could contact your operator/provider if there is an issue with their network near you or maybe you need a new simcard.

I just try to do data factory

I found that the IMEI inside the back cover is not the same as the IMEI outside.
I tried to flash other radios - didn't help
To flash custom ROMs and 4.4 stock - didn't help
When I'm switching to 3G I can't find any network when I switch back to 2G it still not finding any network but only after restarting the phone the 2G is working.
Any options what is wrong with my phone?

The IMEI is different because your phone most probably stolen or because fo human mistake.
Maybe your operator does not allow your phone to connect to 3G networks.
I get my nexus from austria before it got released in my country. I had LTE until my operator started selling nexus 5 too, and from that day I don't have LTE.

I'm not able to understand as both are GSM and if the phone is working on one sim , it should accept the other too
By the way the phone is imported.

have you checked the APN settings, you might wanna check online for the best configuration for your carrier

Bro i'm not talking about the 2g or 3g , it is not catching any signals only, it connects and disconnects continuously

I am in Bangalore. For me Tata Docomo is not working. But Airtel is working. But in Airtel i am able to get only 2G not 3G/4G.
Airtel sim connectivity issue
I have got my nexus 5 last novemeber and got it for service at an authorised service centre because of a blur screen issue. Now that issue is cleared, but i find it difficult to get a good coverage for airtel network even at places where airtel has good coverage. i have tried other sim (vodafone) as well and it works perfectly. This is not an APN issue; i have used the same airtel sim for almost one year in the same device
I took this to service centre and demanded an explanation, but they are saying other sims are working fine, and hence it is an error caused by airtel network.
I took a duplicate sim and also tried my sister's airtel sim. Both instances gave the same results of poor network connectivity.
Can anyone help??

I see that you are from Manila and using a F350L please check supported bands by your network and the supported bands of F350L if they are compatible.
i did check it and it is same bands use here. there are f350L users here with no problems using their 3G connection.
My F350L is LTE-8 other F350L are LTE-A. I suspect that this two have different band
I am having the same Problem up here in Ohio
No matter what I try I can not seem to get this phone to do anything besides just G I am running the F350S on AT&T
Please look in Dialer with 5457#*350# and activate your Bands

I put the Checkmarks on the bands that AT&T Supports. But I am still only getting G

Hi folks, I am Nigerian and I use an LG G Pro (D838). Some days back i noticed that i had no network on my phone so I tried inserting another sim into the device and still got the same result but other devices around had network coverage. I changed the network mode to GSM only and got 2G but WCDMA only gives me nothing. I have tried other sims on GSM only mode and got 2G but when i change the mode to WCDMA only, i get nothing at all. Have also put it to GSM/WCDMA auto but keeps giving me just 2G network only. I have even had to downgrade the OS from android 5.0.1 to 4.4.2 as suggested by a friend and still got the same issue. Please, what should i do??????
Same problem overhere Lg g pro 2 though F350k
I have the same problem in Holland. I have the F350k variant) 3G is in Holland 900/2100. The phone has despite of the advertisement text !!! by selling (900/2100) 850/1900/2100. The 2100 band is the same so should work.
Tried a lot. By the way last software and Androi 5.0.1.
The Sim is not the problem, the APN setting not, ........
any suggestions?

Hello, I am from Nigeria.
I bought my LG D838 on eBay in May 2015 and was quite impressed with the performance but my pride and happiness was short lived. I woke up one morning in December 2015, and noticed I didn't have any cell reception. I checked with my siblings and I seemed to be the only one who had no cell reception on the same network as theirs.
I swapped SIMS of other networks into my phone but still to no avail but funny thing was that whenever I change network mode to 2G only, I get reception but switching back to 3G only mode gave me nothing at all...this happened a few days after I updated the OS with a 50MB patch file using OTA as prompted. I have been writing to LG since then but no reply and it has frustrated me so much as I bought this phone for about USD 398 and didn't even get to use it up to a year. I managed it on 2G while trying to contact LG about it until the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth stopped responding also. I need the NV and QCN backup file for this phone in order to get it running again…I would really love to see this beauty run again. Please help me out.

Vodafone India 4g Issue

I have honor 6X indian variant.My 4g connection works fine when I am using Reliance Jio carrier sim card.But when i switch to my vodafone simcard i am unable get 4g data speeds.I am able to view vodafone 4g network and connect to it.But when i turn on my mobile data i am only getting 2g or 3g speed.I have talked with customer care , rechecked my vodafone internet settings they all are fine.Vodafone is set as primary sim and 4g is enabled.Even my subscription plan is 4G plan i have checked.Can anyone help me to resolve this.

Yesterday i got update BLN-L22C675B340 , after installing there was no immediate change. but today since morning i am able to connect to 4g network all right. Don't know if it was due to carrier issue or phone software issue but its has gone away now for good.
Maybe you live in an area where Vodafone have no band of LTE that's compatible with your device
im using idea 4g. i do get 3g speed sometime when there is no 4g signal but at my home i alway have 4g i got good signal at home.

Vodafone keeps sending me sms like please insert your card in sim 1 slot to enjoy 4g.But I hv already kept it as my primary 4g sim.(see the screenshot, its in hindi lang)

So this makes my conclusion a logical one, Vodafone doesn't provide a 4G band that's supported by your device in the area where you live!

Hide the IMEI info OP.
I use Vodafone 4g in my Honor 6x 3gb variant and its working fine...
From the screenshot you provided, we're you used to set your network manually to Vodafone 3g rather than 4g network?

I have always used automatic selection.Even if i manually select vodafone 4g it will register on network but it will still connect to 3g network.

Does it have 4g network in your area... how about checking the same in other model.
Mine ia china variant but still all Indian sim works fine except jio volte calling but 4G is fine.

Just got a S8+ and found out it doesn't support my carrier's network band

Just got a S8+ from my brother and was having some troubles with it (can text/use data but not recieve/make calls) and found out that the cause was because the phone supported the 4G LTE band of my carrier but not the 3G band which is what my carrier uses for calls.
So how screwed am I? is there anything I can do to fix this?

Try in settings - connections - mobile networks and change network mode to 2g/3g or 3g mode and see if that works.
Note: I am still on nougat so settimgs location may be slightly different on oreo.

i've tried it and it didn't work as the specific model phone I have does not support the 3G band of my carrier (Freedom Mobile) so I can't connect to any of my carriers bands aside from the 4g LTE one

If so I would get in contact with your provider and see if is compatible with there network frequencies. apart from changing providers I am not sure what you can do.
If I've done my research properly freedom mobile is Canadian region apparently there are to modes home and away have you tried the away mode

yes that is my phone
i think away might actually work really well, how would i force it to only use away/roaming?
okay this is weird, so i turned roaming on, connected to a different carriers network (rogers) and i can text and data fine but still cannot make or recieve calls on a AWAY network....? does this mean it shouldn't be a network band problem?
it shouldnt be my sim card as my sim card works fine on my older phone fine (s7E) and i JUST got it replaced my the warranty service (to fix this problem, which it didnt). It shouldn't be the phone either as my brother put his sim back in the phone and he can make calls fine....... what is wrong here?

If you mean upgrade to Oreo I do have some minor issues at the moment nothing really major for me to worry about if I do upgrade. To save going way off topic here might be better to start a new thread or I could pm you if you like.
