Is that a normal feature on HTC devices or something? Because I've seen something similar on custom rom's, but never on stock devices (gnex, Droid X, 2012 and 2013 nexus 7's ).
Just looked for it and couldn't find it. How could they remove such an important feature that is a selling point?

I was told by HTC support that extreme power saver mode is coming on an update waiting to get through Verizon approval. It will come!
Once we can edit files. I can bring power saver back plus remove icon it puts in your status bar.

Through Verizon approval. Considering their track record that's not very reassuring.

Since VZW's version is the only One (capitalization intended!) that's been released in the US so far, maybe it's going to be missing for all local carriers. Android Central seems to think so, but also notes it's coming in a future software update (as others have mentioned):
http://goo.gl/Fv7uIF
Things like this are why I tried so hard for so long to stay with T Mobile. Their customer service is second to none, and they don't screw around with the phones. But their data coverage was just awful for me and simply wasn't improving...
Here's to hoping somebody finds a way to root this phone. I don't regret going from my 2013 One to the M8, but I do miss Viper...

Hopefully bring back the block text message feature in the stock text messaging app as well! We have blocked call feature but for some reason they took out the block text message feature???

Basically my WiFi signal drops and reconnects every 5 minutes, and sometimes I lose "4G" and all bars of service completely. AT&T told me to call HTC. The guy made me apply pressure to the back of the phone under the camera, and all of a sudden, my WiFi signal was strong and stable. He said I would have to mail them my phone, so I said no way, I'm not going to be without a phone for like a week or more, so I called AT&T, told them HTC told me it was a hardware issue not a software issue, so finally, after spending 2+ hours on the phone, AT&T is sending me a replacement phone.
Thought I would share this in case there are others in a similar situation.

You had to return your old phone though, right? I would do the same but I can't be without a phone
when you get sent a new one they send you a post paid sticker to put the old phone in. You don't go without.

I'd really look over the devices you get sent if I were you. They've sent me out 3 warranty replacements (waiting for the 4th) but I keep sending them back because they all have extremely noticeable defects. They said they will keep sending them until I get one that is in good condition. I don't have to argue with them at all. I wish I could go to a completely different phone but they won't do that.

Yea, this was disappointing. Like my M8 without the power saving modes.. All this US carrier bull. At least with the M8 we have S-off already and have added the features back.. While it'd be awesome, I just don't see the exploits for the S5 coming as fast... But I didn't expect it to happen to the M8 that fast either.

Wouldn't Verizon stand to potentially make more money with the download booster? If people are using data more when downloading they would be more apt go over their data limit?

You're assuming that people who download faster are gonna download more stuff....not necessarily true....
And if it's not true, then all download booster is doing is taking up extra unnecessary bandwidth
Having the ability to go faster is all I wanted. I hate waiting for a download to finish just on my wifi because it is faster and like roms are usually more than 300 mb per update. If people didn't download more stuff it would still probably make some people upgrade another 2gb so they don't go over and take advantage of the download booster. That is what I would do. Another 10 a month for more data and take advantage of the faster speeds.

I really don't care, I do have unlimited data and download speeds are fast enough, plus I have an AC router at home, I hit 120mbs on my S4 on wifi and expect the same on my S5.

Download Booster
There's another forum for the S5 that gives you a way using an alternate launcher to access download booster. The one thing stopping it once turned on is the ability to turn on the specific mobile network mode.
Nova launcher allows you to add shortcut then go to settings and find download booster. It's one of the selling points for the phone that I enjoy. I'm from a rural area so when I go home to visit I want to combine the connections when needed.
Why do they get it and we don't? This is so frustrating.
Nor does the S5... Or the Z2... Or the Find 7...
I think the question we should be asking is why did every other manufacturer decline the functionality?
My guess is that it either isn't too great with battery or the keyword HAS to be "Hello Snapdragon" which didn't fly with them.

You're right! I wasn't aware the GS5 had that. Indeed they're most likely using the chipset feature.
But this raises another question, why didn't one plus customize their keyword? "Hello Snapdragon" is kind of a mouthful. I guess it doesn't really matter.
I can't help but wonder if this functionality can be hacked in. I'd think it would be easier on a AOSP based ROM.

The core is low power in order to transmit that information it would need to cause a wake lock which could easily be blocked. I would be more concerned with backdoors that are in the closed source radio blobs

This part is not credible. They installed an LED with orange and green; period. It reminds me of an April Fool's joke many MANY years back when Palm announced a "software color mode" and those not knowing better thought that suddenly their monochrome Palm Pilot's would have color capabilities. The LED colors can't be changed with software. So, I'm a little suspicious of the entire piece because of that one detail.
Besides, if I haven't heard it from @evleaks, I don't believe it's real.
LED
I think the different LED flash notifications would be awesome! I used to have this on my Moto Defy and I love it. I am going to try this ROM out tongiht.

No, battery fixes...stupid aux/headphone issue... The issue with airplane mode having to be toggled to get things to sync....things that never should have happened. the devs will figure all this stuff out before att or LG does anything. But that is known.
Sent from my LG-D850 using XDA Free mobile app
keep in mind that ATT shipped with ver. 10d, which is ahead of some other variants. we're technically not that bad off. lets hope att is bundling updates together. it's a huge task for att to certify each small update.
The only thing i need fixed is the damn data issue. All to frequently when my phone goes from LTE to H+ my data gets wonky and wont work. toggling airplane mode isn't a huge deal, but it shouldn't need to be done.
I don't think its been long enough since release. I would imagine they are still collecting bug reports.
