Hello,
Just had issue with my Samsung galaxy S3.
A lot of sudden death and device freezes.
I installed the "[ROM][364MB][NB7]Revolutionary S5 V2 - Like your new Galaxy S5? [23RD MAR][FLYING][AVAILABLE]"
rom and since then i cannot boot my device.
After the installation was finished and just click the reboot option and its stucked on the boot screen(Samsung Galaxy s3 image)
Is it what's called a brick?
Is there any way to fix that issue?
I know i can get into recovery.
I'm having trouble with the sd card, I guess it's related cause it was working well before having issue with the device.
Any suggestion from you guys?

Do you know another way?

Sure. You don't need adb for installing a rom!
Perform a wipe
copy CUSTOMROM.zip* to your sdcard
install it via recovery
be happy again
*you can choose any custom rom compatible to your device.
The sd card is curropted for some reason.
I try the ADB but get the error attached.
Any reason what's wrong?
Or how can I fix this issue?

Don't use adb sideload pls. Just go to recovery --> format sd-card --> mount sd to computer --> copy rom.zip to sdcard manually. You dont need adb sideload
I format the external_sd
I mount the external_sd but can get the drive in my local machine.
do you i need to do something in addition to get the drive in my pc?
What Recovery Version do you use actually?
]Do You have the SIII gt-i9300?
If you have unbranded SIII GT-i9300 --> This is the best recovery avaiable PhilZ advanced cwm 6.19.3 . You can flash it using Odin 3.07
Latest usb drivers --> Samsung USB drivers
Your solution is good.
I installed this recovery and managed to mount my sd card and then install a different rom.
Thing I still have the sudden death issue.
I understood that any rom with version of 4.1.2 and above has that relevant fixes but its just didn't solve my issue.
Any suggestion about that?

Have you flashed full stock firmware once you're sd card is fine again?
I installed a custom ROM(Archdroid v2.4) and in the installation i chose the stock kernel.
Is that enough?

Do you have custom recovery ? if you have so then do a complete wipe (cache, factory data, dalvik) and try, if the device doesnt boot then flash your backup or stock rom in recovery
I installed a custom ROM based on stock and it reduced the freezes and sudden death big time but didn't solve it.
since the installation one day ago i had a couple of sudden deaths.
I did all wipes the recovery have to offer but I still see picture and old data I had.
No way to format the entire phone and then install a ROM from recovery?
Any other suggestion how to fix?

You can format everything using PhilZ recovery:
-->Mounts&Storage
Format /system /cache /data /storage/sdcard0 /storage/sdcard1
Then copy the rom to your sdcard and install it again. If that does not work you will have to flash the stock firmware once using odin before you can use a custom rom again.
Keep in mind that a custom kernel can cause system instability and errors.

I think you havent cleared data/factory reset your phone from cwm or twrp or else..
u need to do that + clear dalvik cache before flashing the zip..
But about the ROM u mentioned, is it really made for Samsung S3 ? :/

Hi,
I am unable to Install any custom roms in Samsung galaxy Tab 2( Gt-P3110 ). When ever a custom Rom is placed, It either gets stuck in the Samsung logo, or just shows a 'Blank' Screen and hangs on that screen. After this i have to reflash the stock firmware to get the tab up again... (i do perform the wipe data/cache..then wipe cache. then wipe dalvik cache in this order before flashing the ROM)
The details of the tab are:
Model- GT-P3110 ( Galaxy tab 2 , wifi only )
android version-4.1.2
Build number-JZO54K.P3110DCMA4
Recovery: PhilZ Touch 6 Recovery ( Based on CWM Base version: v6.0.4.5 )
Rooted: Yes
Even the backups made are not complete, restoring a backup restores the tab to factory reset.
(it does say failed to find partition /recovery and /data for a very short time before starting the backup).
I am using a windows 7 system for this.
Thanks for the help...

For some reason this tab only works with Phils recovery.. for the rest. it just refuses to work.,! but the problem was that i could not get into the external memory card.. anyways.. after following the 'data wipe' instructructions.. i sideloaded cm-11-20140304-NIGHTLY-p3110.zip with its gapps..
both got installed succesfully.. However,, at first the tab went into a boot loop.. so i got into recovery again and cleared the data and cache partitions.. now.. i got stuck at a 'Blank' screen after the samsung logo.. ( its still blank after 10 mins)..

did it still blank? carefully not to flash with the charger on.
some people got bricked and to resolve that you must wait until the battery drops out and charge it again.
maybe you should clear your mind first, don't be in rush. i feel your frustating man
if you do not add anything more in the process, i suppose with any recoveries you will succeed.
and also, it's a normal to take 10-15 min on the first boot

Maybe your EFS broken for some reason... that´s why it won´t boot into system.... you can try all roms, no rom will boot and you'll only see the samsung bootlogo...
this got reported in a german forum, because 2 guys flashed CWM 6.0.4.4-Touch on the device... CWM 6.0.4.4-Touch not released for the Tab 2 - it was for a different device and flashing that recovery brokes EFS for them.
also seems that it happens here too: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2657774

Iv tried all the recoveries.. but the end result is always the same.. a tab stuck on samsung logo.. Please help out.. big noob here..
Hi There,
So, I have a Samsung Galax S2 Telus SGH-T989D phone and I decided to root it using the 4.4 KitKat and it went well and everything was great.
However, afterwards to resolve some other issues I was having I decided to make the mistake of loading the gapps which was for another
package into my phone and that messed everything up!
So, I have been struggling with the phone and first it wouldn't let me install another ROM from recovery and kept on giving me error 7 and 6
But, I fixed that and now I can install any ROM from the recovery or Odin (download mode) without any errors.
However:
The phone vibrates , brings up the galaxy logo and then the Koodo logo appears and a bar fills up quickly under it but it never goes away!!!
Phone freezes there and that's that!! Even after taking out the battery I noticed the logo was still stuck on the screen where as normally
it goes blank!!
So, at this point I am not sure what else to do! This is annoying and I'm tired of experimenting. I went through some XDA foroums here and
tried the Super Vipe (taking out the battery has been tried, factory reset and wiping the cache all have been tried)
So, please please please help me out here. I used to have a MyTouch4G which I rooted with CyanogenMod back in the day and it's the most
stable thing ever and all I wanted to do was to perform the same thing on my Galaxy S2 and boom not this time!!!
Awaiting your response and thanks in advance

Did you perform a FULL wipe? Custom recovery -> format ALL partitions except EFS?
I have tried the Super Vipe off the SD card through the recovery mode and also from recovery I've tried the wipe cache,
factory reset and wipe cache partitions.
I am not sure about "format ALL partitions except EFS" nor am I aware of the procedure.
How would I perform that?
Have you installed a working custom recovery?

Yes I'm able to successfully install recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.7-hercules or CWM_Root_Superuser_3.1.3_Busybox_1.20.2
from the recovery without any errors (same if rooted through Odin)
If there's a specific ROM you are thinking about please let me know and I will be more than glad to give it a shot.
You really should use a newer recovery version. But for now go to mounts and storage and format all partitions except EFS. Then try flashing stock firmware via Odin
Here you can get the latest recovery for your device --> TWRP for hercules

Under mounts and storage and format all partitions except EFS > Don't even see ESF there to begin with..
Do you have a working link for downloading the stock firmware? I have downloaded few and none of them even let me install them (status 0 error)
Any ideas?
Odin is already being used v3.0.7

I was able to finally bring it up!!
Basically I looked for a stock firmware for T-Mobile and after formatting the phones multiple times I tried this ROM
using ODIN and it got rid of the Koodo logo and replaced it with a T-Mobile logo and then it BOOM loaded to start screen finally!!
I was about to hammer the phone. So, trust me I was very happy to see it work.
Thank you for your quick and helpful response :good:
Cheers :victory:

The first boot always takes longer as it is setting up, but no longer than ~5 minutes.
Anyway... If you've waited and it is boot looping, try these steps:
Make sure your recovery is up to date.
Wipe system, data, cache, and dalvik cache.
Flash ROM, gapps, and any addons
Wipe cache and dalvik
Reboot. After first reboot is complete and on setup screen, wait 5 minutes and reboot into recovery.
Wipe cache and dalvik again. Reboot
This reboot could also take ~5 minutes, but the others shouldn't as long as you don't wipe cache and dalvik.
You should see an "Android is Upgrading" screen. After this is done, complete setup and you should be good to go.

Back to stock rom for now, prepare (charge until full).
Re-root, then reboot to recovery to try again flashing the rom.
Always format /system, /cache, /data/media first when installing different roms. Good luck

Stock rom is working fine? Is root working on stock?
Did you get any errors while flashing costom roms?
I remember a folk here got a same problem as you, and i think it's not resolved yet..
Maybe you and him have a "special" devices.
Don't worry, it's not a problem with your ext-sd because i use it all the time. and if it was ext-sd problem, you'll get an error while flashing.
I suggest messages devs in developement section, maybe they can figure out what is wrong.
And of course i think it's not safe to restore others nandroid backup, so don't mind find it.
God speed, wish I can help you more

Like I said earlier, you should have flashing stock rom first to remove root via odin/hemidall.. you can find it at sammobile, com
then re-root with link i gave earlier again via odin/hemidall, and format in recovery like i said earlier. no wonder you still fail..
you should have philz touch recovery instead cwm if you succeed.

My phone is rooted. I have CM recovery installed. I am trying to flash a ROM but the installation is failing at 47%. It shows this message "Detected filesystem ext4 for /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/system" and restarts the phone. When I try to wipe data or wipe media from recovery it restarts the phone. Even if I try to install from emulated storage it restarts the phone. I think there is something wrong with the storage. Can anyone help?

Hi, are you on latest version of CWM corresponding to your phone model ? (let us know what phone model too )
Have you tried to flash and try with TWRP's latest version for your model ? (what's model, once again...)
What rom are you trying to flash (brand and build) ? Is your bootloader up to date ?
Not easy to help you without some precise informations...

I had TWRP earlier. But it suddenly stopped working. I tried to reflash it didn't work. Then I tried CWM which was flashed successfully but was freezing. Currently, I have the latest recovery by CyanogenMod. It works fine.
My phone is Moto G XT-1033 (falcon).
I haven't updated my bootloader. I will try doing it.
Thank you
I am facing same problem in twrp recovery but now everything working fine after flashing stock recovery and twrp again
