Has anyone figured out how to disable the capacitive buttons? I'm using lmt pie controls and don't need or want the factory capacitive buttons which keep accidentally getting triggered.

Update: I figured it out, I commented out keys 158 and 254 in the generic.kl file, similar to the instructions found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40713735

You could use gravity box thru xposed, go to pie controls, disable navigation keys
I just read about gravity box for the first time on the lmt thread, I'll have to check it out. [Edit] preliminary research tells me gravity box won't work on a touchwiz ROM...

Xposed additions! Version 2.3 works best if recent versions don't work for you. He is still investigating some issues with version 3. I use this to do some disabling on my son's tab pro 8.4

Hi,
I own galaxy note 10.1 n8000 and yesterday I updated to jelly bean 4.1.1 firmware version xxblk2 using odin (I originally had kenyan firmware). Everything seemed good except that I could not find how tousing handwriting mode when typing even though I enabled it at the settings. I also checked to hold on the setting button on the keyboard but all I could see was voice type. Can anyone help me out?
Thanks!
Long press the settings button when keyboard is out, there should be 3 options there, settings, voice and handwriting. The button is on the left of the space bar.

Maybe I wasn't clear but I did tried that and there is only 'voice type' option. I will post some screen shots shortly! Thanks for reply though.
Hmm, search around here, I remember reading about this issue and the fix is here somewhere.

Thanks! It works perfectly!
I'm on MIUI and there is no way to disable them while still retaining functionality. I do not want to use the on screen NavBar, i still want to use the touch keys and home button, just not have them light up. I'd also rather not use ScreenDIM, etc. I'd prefer to do a system change or something to disable the lights. Any ideas?
Isn't there a galaxy settings in the settings menu?

Hi, I'm looking for an app that is able to enable the softkey with just a click of button and lock the capacitive button? Is there such an app? It's much like the one plus 2 which has a way to easily switch between the 2
there probably is but most likely you will need to be rooted

I'm rooted and willing to try any possible app.
you can start here

Anyone using easy home app and have experience with the pro version. For those who don't know the app turns you home key into a capacitive button rather then a physical button. I don't know for sure but I've read that it supports the N5, S6, S6E, and S6E+. I have also read about N4, and S5 users using it. I really like the app and it works well. I really missed my OnePlus 2 home button.

Did you know that if you use the app you described you will no longer be able to
use the fingerprint security function unless you uninstall the app or totally disable it.
Good luck,
Have a Happy Merry Christmas.

I'm not quite sure I understand. When I try to bypass my lockscreen with any other fingers then I have setup in the fingerprint settings it will not unlock and prompts me to enter a backup password. So I'm not sure if they have fixed thas issue but lockscreen fingerprint login and last pass fingerprint login seem to be working fine for me.

You are 100% wrong and shouldn't mislead other people. I've been using the app since it was posted a few months ago by @Jawomo it works exactly as it should. I've been using it everyday for months with my fingerprint unlock and have never had a failed unlock.

It was really hit or miss for me. I only tried it for a few minutes, but it felt like it didn't work 100% of the time. I'll give it another shot.

There are several apps on the playstore and several xposed mods that will enable on screen keys (navbar) if that is what you require but I don't know of any apps that will disable the hardware keys
