[Q] Disable Touch Key Lights? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I'm on MIUI and there is no way to disable them while still retaining functionality. I do not want to use the on screen NavBar, i still want to use the touch keys and home button, just not have them light up. I'd also rather not use ScreenDIM, etc. I'd prefer to do a system change or something to disable the lights. Any ideas?

Isn't there a galaxy settings in the settings menu?

AOKP Milestone 6

I've searched through the entire rom but have not found a way to set up how many home screens I want, so wondering if anyone can direct me to that.
also does anyone know how to disable my soft keys at the bottom since i have the on screen nav enabled?
To the first question are you using launcher or nova launcher?

I'm using the stock launcher I don't care for Nova much
Edit: think I might go with nova just cause I can resize Widgets lol

I'm also curious if this is possible. Ive found an app that disables the lights... until you sleep and wake your phone again. I really like the on-screen keys but there is not much point in my opinion if the soft keys are still lit/working.
Thanks
For backlights
On Nova launcher do this.
Press and hold on the desktop>shortcuts>activities>galaxys2 settings.
Press on the shortcut and set up your back lights.

[Q] question after updating to 4.1.1 xxblk2

Hi,
I own galaxy note 10.1 n8000 and yesterday I updated to jelly bean 4.1.1 firmware version xxblk2 using odin (I originally had kenyan firmware). Everything seemed good except that I could not find how tousing handwriting mode when typing even though I enabled it at the settings. I also checked to hold on the setting button on the keyboard but all I could see was voice type. Can anyone help me out?
Thanks!
Long press the settings button when keyboard is out, there should be 3 options there, settings, voice and handwriting. The button is on the left of the space bar.

Maybe I wasn't clear but I did tried that and there is only 'voice type' option. I will post some screen shots shortly! Thanks for reply though.
Hmm, search around here, I remember reading about this issue and the fix is here somewhere.

Notification bar not visible

I have been running the RasbeanJelly builds with Matr1x for a while now. Recently my notification bar stopped displaying. It shows up when I wake the phone, at the lock screen. Once I get past the lock screen, the notification bar is not visible. I am not sure why this happened. I don't remember installing any apps around the time that this started happening. I use Nova Launcher as well.
Sounds like you have it hidden with nova. Under look and feel, it's the last setting. You could possibly also have a swipe gesture to hide it.

I thought the same thing. I have checked and unchecked it a few times, but it hasn't fixed it.
Strange. What you describe would be normal if it's hidden. Did you check under gestures and buttons to be sure that nothing is set to toggle notifications?

You probably enabled the expanded home screen feature by mistake. Check the power menu there should be a toggle in there to turn it off, or it could possibly be in display options.

Ah, yeah, forgot about expanded desktop.

Nothing I gestures. I tried going to the standard launcher, and no change. I have gone through the setting pages many times trying to find a setting to toggle, but can't fond anything.

If you're on rasbeanjelly, look in the power menu for a "expanded desktop" option. Turn it off. You probably bumped it by mistake...

I don't have a power menu. There is a battery menu, but there are no options
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Tapatalk 2
Power menu is the same as the reboot menu. Just hold the power button down. Option for expanded desktop should be in there.

Do I feel stupid?! Thanks that was it.

[Q] Menu button instead of multitask

The HTC M8 is my first phone without the physical home/menu/back buttons on the bottom of the phone.
I find the multitask button totally useless (what's wrong with holding down menu until it appears like my S3 and S4?) and I'd rather have the menu key there and not take up any valuable screen real estate. I'm also used to having the back button on the right and the menu on the left, can any of this be changed?
These kind of changes will require a true root solution, but will very much be possible. Just need S-Off to achieve it! Temp root won't do the trick.

Do you have in mind a complete custom Rom? Or can a root-only setting just be modified?

Nah just a modded framework-res/systemui would be all that's needed. But I'm sure entire ROMs will pop up with the ability to change on the fly.

Ok, I'm not interested in getting custom Rom's they're great but too much of a headache sometimes. I just want to adjust these settings

app to easily switch between softkey and hardkey?

Hi, I'm looking for an app that is able to enable the softkey with just a click of button and lock the capacitive button? Is there such an app? It's much like the one plus 2 which has a way to easily switch between the 2
there probably is but most likely you will need to be rooted

I'm rooted and willing to try any possible app.
