Thats because it isn't a forum for questions...
The voltage is still stock i believe, but UV at lower than stock speeds.
Hi, i'm newbie on this forum, i have already done all stuffs like S-OFF and upgrading the software... I saw that the ARHD is the best rom, so i want to install it. There is SebastianFM, faux123, bricked (which i read on the forum that is great) and the stock one, but i don't know why choose one instead of the other.. I mean, are there real differences between them? Can someone explain me them? The problem is that everyone says that's what they have is better than the other, but better for what? Also, there are writed a lot of technical details that i don't understand...
I hope u got what i mean, thanks in advance for the answers..

I think that SebastianFM is closer to stock so it's a bit more stable,faux123 is a bit performance oriented so the battery may not last as much as in other kernels and bricked lets you customize lots of options so you can make a good balance between performance and battery life,at least from my experience but from what i've been reading here it depends a lot on the person, some might have issues with a particular kernel while others find it perfect,so the best thing to do is try all of them and see which one doesn't cause any problems and is the most stable for you,and be careful to wipe cache+dalvik before flashing them.
Can anyone shed a light over the usefulness of these sources and stuff? I read people still talking about backporting 3.0 kernel features to 2.6. Don't we have a 3.0 kernel now for the TI omap from the optimus black? What are the main differences in the rom to just have it running on the i9003? Different partitions?

I know what you mean. But it's a question which is going to get a response and start a discussion. That's why it should be in the General forum.
Cheers.
Im running jellyfirebeanv2, and im wanting to know where i could find a custom kernel i could use, instead of the one that comes with the rom.
im a complete n00b when it comes to kernels and ive no idea where to find one.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? ive no idea which kernels would work with this rom
Thanks for any help
Development section, a the top (sticky) theres a thread by ben_pyett. All roms, kernel, general guides there.

Thanks for replying.
I still dont really understand which one to pick, when ive read through some of the threads about the kernels. it doesnt say anything about compatability with my rom.
Is it just a case of trail and error?
Thanks again for any help ( and being patient )

First you have to understand what type of rom you're using. (Android version, sense version (if applicable)). So, you're looking for a kernel for jb roms (cm10/10.1 etc.) (hint: there's only one)
By the way, why do you want a different kernel? What improvements are you looking for?
I'm looking for a kernel that will let me over volt my CPU, just wanted to try it.
I'm running 4.2.2 on jellyfirebeanv2

I was just wondering if the kernel came undervolted stock for the AOSP JB version. Or would I need to use an app like system tuner to undervolt it.
Thanks in advance!
i dont know if it comes undervolted. but i know you can change it with the ktweaker app that is included.
heres the link. if you put in minimal effort youd save yourself time and furstration waiting for answers that are readily available.

just wanted to know if it came undervolted but thanks
no problem, wasnt being a jerk.
i can see hwo it could be read that way.
good luck, its my kernel of choice.
FYI KT747 kernel is one of the most popular kernels for this phone therefore its thread is almost always in the first page of the original development section. So it is safe bet to look there first before posting a question like this as that thread will answer your questions. Word of advice research first and only ask questions when you can't find the answers because I noticed that a lot of the questions that are asked can be searched within this forum except for the troubleshooting questions. Have fun with the kernel it is a very good one to use.
