[Q] SebastianFM or faux123 or Bricked or Stock Kernel, which one is better? - HTC Sensation

Hi, i'm newbie on this forum, i have already done all stuffs like S-OFF and upgrading the software... I saw that the ARHD is the best rom, so i want to install it. There is SebastianFM, faux123, bricked (which i read on the forum that is great) and the stock one, but i don't know why choose one instead of the other.. I mean, are there real differences between them? Can someone explain me them? The problem is that everyone says that's what they have is better than the other, but better for what? Also, there are writed a lot of technical details that i don't understand...
I hope u got what i mean, thanks in advance for the answers..

I think that SebastianFM is closer to stock so it's a bit more stable,faux123 is a bit performance oriented so the battery may not last as much as in other kernels and bricked lets you customize lots of options so you can make a good balance between performance and battery life,at least from my experience but from what i've been reading here it depends a lot on the person, some might have issues with a particular kernel while others find it perfect,so the best thing to do is try all of them and see which one doesn't cause any problems and is the most stable for you,and be careful to wipe cache+dalvik before flashing them.

[Q] Is there any way to improve the accelerometer in a phone?

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum.
I was wondering if it's possible to increase the accelerometer speed in a phone? I have a Huawei u8100 from Wind Mobile in Canada.
Specs are:
Android 2.1 (as far as I know it is not upgradable to 2.2.)
clock speed of 528 MHz
I find the rotation on the phone to be quite slow compared to other models. Is there anything I can do to improve that? Just an fyi, I've never rooted a phone before and have no clue how to do it but I'm willing to learn if that's what it would take.
Thanks a lot
Welcome to forums
On my experience cooked ROM´s made by great Chefs @ XDA have always presented much better ROM´s than the "original" ones, so I would try to root my device and try any of them (not sure if your device is covered in here)
Also you can see if there is any over clocking tool for your model.
Good luck,
I think that comes inbuilt and cant be changed, but hey i coudl be wrong

Your device is not covered in XDA sadly
Ahh ok, thanks anyway.
Does anyone know if changing the ROM would even help, assuming I was able to find a new ROM on another site? Or is it a hardware issue and not something I can improve?
Thanks!

Next time include a summary of your question in the Title and in your post. People are much more likely to help you or click on your post if they know what it's about.
For example: Title: What's the benefit of HSPL on HD7?
Question: I was looking around and saw the post about HSPL here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195647 and wasn't sure the benefits of it... etc.
The forums are cluttered with threads that nobody wants to look at because they are so vague.

New to rooting and custom ROMs, few questions...

Hi everyone,
I'm fairly new to customizing my android phone. Have only had a Galaxy SII before, which I flashed to CyanogenMod.
Now I might be interested in flashing my new One S, particularly due to better battery life but also for enhanced possibilities.
I can of course read the guides on how to root & flash (although it seems a lot more complicated than on my Galaxy SII).
What I'm more worried about is, how do I flash back to stock, if that should be necessary later on? Is it very complicated?
Now, I actually like Sense 4.0, HTC keyboard and some other HTC things, so I would like to flash a ROM with Sense. I've looked through the forum and concluded, that either Noble or Trickdroid might be suitable for me. I know that it's not polite to shoot down the one or other ROM, but could some of you tell me the differences between the two? I can't really point them out myself.
Thank you very much!
Best regards
Casper

If you can read, you would know the differences between the 2 roms, and you would also know that THIS IS DEVELOPMENT SECTION, NOT Q&A !!
Wrong Section.
Sorry, how to move?

Harsh.
But yes, it is the wrong section. A mod will probably move this post soon enough.
That said, I just read them over. They look to be mostly the same. Stock with a few tweaks here and there. Noble looked the better of the two to me.
Both have some very vague language though
Fully optimized and tweaked
RAM optimizations
Speed optimizations
Excellent battery life!
Better CPU Performance

You can always just take a backup and flash each one and give them a day or two test run.
Moved To Q&A

Hello Desire People :)

As the title say Hello Desire People .
I have just changed my SE Xperia x10
to _>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
HTC Desire S.
1)_Ok so i obviously changed it becouse i liked its specs more, but as it is known specs are not all that matters so tell me what you think about this device and what i have gotten myself into, by getting one.
2)_I was with xda for over a year now with my x10, so i know basics (Such as what rom is, why y need to unlock bootloader, whats up with phone rooting , and generally all basics about flashing.) Please gimme some tips bout what Custom kitchenware you use to Flash whose fresh ROM's to your devises, and which rom would be best for starters (most stable compared to perfomance) (would be best ics if its complete on this device, couse its not on x10)
Please dont rage on me much couse i come with love. And i will be staying with this development section of Desire S for some time now

Welcome :good: You need to read, read and read some more.
There are some great ROMs out there. If you want stability then stick with a GB-based one for the moment (Reaper for non-Sense and Endymion for Sense). If you want to be a bit more adventurous then try Fallout v5.0, based on the ICS RUU.
TO learn what you are doing - there are plenty of guides out there so make sure you read and understand exactly what you are doing and why before you risk doing anything to your phone.
Gratz on getting yourself the Ds, first if all!
1. First of all, by getting the mobile you just got into friendliest forum in xda!
2. And Secondly, before you start asking questions, there's some comprehensive guide about the specs, guides and tutorials, info, etc stickied in the general section
Edit : ah already see Simon has beat me to the welcoming committee

Thx for kind words of welcome, and just so to let you know i am reading all the beginers guides (not done yet). And at the same time i saw that ICS is officially on this phone now. So i am trying to install it but as it seems i need adb drivers and i have some difficulty finding them on my windows8. I found some for windows 7 but is says unsuported os on win8
UPDATE: grabed my Moms laptop with win7 and started to install this official ICS, but i cant keep doing that every time i need to flash rom (mom would come and turn it off right in middle )
Welcome, see link in my signature for the INDEX thread that should hopefully contain links to all you seek.
I'll echo what is said above in read read and read some more
Enjoy and there is an OFF TOPIC thread for social chat etc
Sywepd form my DsereiS
Hello man)
ROM installed on my device is ICE_DS 5.0 with kernel Tweaked 7.1 (battery life is great!)
ROM on 4.0.4 version need update manualy.
p.s. its older to buy
hey there, welcome to the club! if you want great stability and also ICS experience, and don't want to experiment, you can also flash Ice Cream Saga v1. you get the latest HTC stock rom, rooted, with only the most basic tweaks. you can customise it if you wish with amidabudha's tweaked kernel or leave it as it is.

Hi Kesh,
When you post a link, it gives you the option to change the text that appears 'above' the hyperlink . Well worth using the feature as it shows people exactly what you are linking to, rather than just the actual URL.

Thanks for replying.
I still dont really understand which one to pick, when ive read through some of the threads about the kernels. it doesnt say anything about compatability with my rom.
Is it just a case of trail and error?
Thanks again for any help ( and being patient )

First you have to understand what type of rom you're using. (Android version, sense version (if applicable)). So, you're looking for a kernel for jb roms (cm10/10.1 etc.) (hint: there's only one)
By the way, why do you want a different kernel? What improvements are you looking for?
I'm looking for a kernel that will let me over volt my CPU, just wanted to try it.
I'm running 4.2.2 on jellyfirebeanv2
