Hi boys, and girls
As my 2 year contract on my carrier, is getting to the finish line, i want to get something new. (I will keep my small litle muscle phone O1 as a second phone )
At the first i wanted the galaxy nexus, because of the great software support, and the developement, in our xda forum.
Then suddenly i saw the new Optimus 4x, but, there is one but. There is no developement in here, because of locked bootloader
I really don`t know what to take. Thought about the Xperia S, but nope.
The phones what i need to choose from , are - 1. Galaxy nexus
2. Optimus 4x
Maybe Acro S ?
Maybe some other suggestions?
Maybe the new LG Nexus? It'll be $399 on Google Store unsubsidized according to rumors.

Yeah, but it will not be available in my country for a while.
seeing how often google release OS.
I will stick to nexus device for fastest OS update
I love my Google experience device motorola xoom running AOSP jelly bean
Yeah. I think I'd go for the new nexus phone. Just wait for a lil while
I think getting a new LG phone is a waste, Anything other than a galaxy nexus is.
The new android OS? Availably from day 1.
Every app is tested on that first, which means closer to no bugs.
I think that i will take Galaxy Nexus. Just because of software support, developement. The performance is also o.k No need for 4 cores.

Yes, i know, but it is the only device, with the best price/performance on my carrier. I will take it on a contract.
As i said, maybe something from xperia line - The acro s?
Galaxy s3??? Htc one x???
Coz i like quad core!

Ahh. Bought Galaxy nexus today. No need for a quad core phone, becouse there is not where to put in all potential. Its enough with a dualcore.

Smart choice, and yes Android doesn't make use of multi core efficiently as yet.

i was thinking of buying htc one s or the nexus
which one do u guys think is a better choise?
Nexus of you want it right now. I say wait till the holiday is over. I bet you a slick new device will come out by then. A new nexus and HTC has already announced the HTC one x+ and also a 5 inch device. You sir must wait.

The nexus 4 is my first nexus phone and won't be the last. And to be honest I don't think I'll buy anything else but nexus phones from here on. All these other android phones are terrible with bloat and ugly ui skins.

I've had the Galaxy Nexus and the N4 and will never get a non Nexus again
Nexusâ´
Me and my wife both own the Galaxy Nexus, and my son has a Nexus 7. Nothing but Nexus in my house. Always first for OTA's and pure, unadulterated ANDROID...
Galaxy Nexus rockin' AOKP MR1 Build 3 w/ Franco 364.....
Hello,
I only buy Nexus phone, first the Nexus One (live long and prosper), and now the Galaxy Nexus.
Usually they have the best support, good hardware and good price.
the 3 things I consider the most important.
Nexus 7 and 10 here.. Waiting for my Samsung phone to die so I can get a Nexus phone.
Strongly considered the 4, but the non-removable battery and lack of microSD support killed any chance of me owning one.
I got my s3... but really want a nexus now.. I just wish they had expandable memory. Sure a removable battery would be nice, but the memory is the bigger need of the two.. I think Google does that so you use their cloud services.

Sprint Galaxy S3
Whiplashh Rom
Look it up. :trooper:
Currently still in my nexus s and ill change to the n4 in july!
Ill never get a non-nexus! ;D
I have an s3 right now...but in the future I will only buy nexus phones, because of good developer support and AOSP.

I do love the look of the Nexus phones, but no micro-sd means I won't buy one, it just tells the manufacturers they can get away with hampering us, so unless Google ever puts expandable storage on, I'll never buy a Nexus device. Flashing another phone to something aosp based is really easy, so Nexus goodness without the drawback
I use a Tab 2 7.0 as a giant phone thats also a tablet aka phablet
I sure hope by the time this thing breaks, Nexus 7 will have proper phablet support, or, there will be a 5" nexus phone.
Have a Galaxy Nexus and a Nexus 7 : Completely Filled ! <3
I think as you all! Better Android stok that have all those changes that slow down devices
My n4 is my first nexus, but I probably won't be getting the next nexus if the continue to skip important features for me like lte, microsd and a larger battery. I actually haven't been so dissatisfied with a phone before.

No, the reason might mainly be because the Moto X is a dual core phone and the Nexus 5 is a quad core. It will be a tough task to get it to work plus the ROM is so much similar to ours.
I'd like to get the OnePlus One ROM on our phone though. It has the "always listening" feature like the Moto X & the "knock on" feature like the G2.

No. The OnePlus One has a custom version of CM11 with special features like already mentioned that has not been released as open source yet. I believe it's CM11S.
Some of the features of the Moto X require hardware we don't have/can't access. For instance the active notifications take advantage of Amoled capabilities our screens don't have. And, though our hardware supposedly has "always listening" capability, even the dev that figured out how to turn it on won't release his method for fear of legal action.

What is so complicated about my question?
Moto X software is aosp with a few additions like always listening and active notifications. Both of those can be replicated but with poorer battery life. The software running the moto x will not benefit this device because those functions are boosted by the hardware backing them.

This ^^^
The moto x is near vanilla, as is the N5. I don't see any reason to want to port it. Its barely different. And the moto x exclusive features either won't work on the N5 period, and the ones that may would kill our battery.
Just my 3 cents.

AMOLED isn't the same as IPS LCD
Regarding the Sense 6 port and the (possibly) upcoming TouchWiz port by GalaxyUser, the devices they're ported from have similar hardware i.e. similar SoC/other hardware, the Moto X is quite a bit more different.

CM11S barely has that much new to it. If you wanted active display a lot of custom ROMs implement it, however as stated, the Nexus 5 does not have an AMOLED display and it'll use more power when it displays on the screen compared to the Moto X for example.

why not use xda premium with nexus 5?
2 months ago with xperia SL. now with xperia S.
why not with n5 man?
So today I finally! got a oneplus one invite and I was wondering if I should go for it. I really love the nexus 5 and looking forward to android L release. Is there anything I really will lose? I love the nexus community.

If u r concerned abt the updates (fast updates) ...stay wid nexus...
If u feel sd801 is vry superior to sd800... Go for one plus one...
Btw one plus one (opo?) has complaints of yellowish tint on screen...(phosphor?)
Yeah, you'll lose fastest android updates, but what will YOU be gaining from the opo? Meaning, are there features it has that the Nexus 5 lacks that you can't live without?

Phone comparison threads are not allowed. My suggestion would be to go read the OnePlus One forum which is full of relevant information
