[Q] can't install rom, hangs in bootloop :(

Hello
I have a problem with installing another rom.
My phone: htc sensations xe
Hboot 1.29
current rom MIUI
if I try to install any frimware it says "parsing...pg58img" and then noting anymore (dont know if thats good or not)
i have 4ext recovery :good:
i do wipe and install a rom p.e. CM9
it always hangs on the bootloop

Okay first off...smaller fonts are your friend.
Second, are you s-on still?
What current firmware version do you have?

Try to enable 4ext Smart Flash.
If it won't work flash latest firmware package and check if you are S-On or S-Off.

You need to upgrade your firmware to 3.32 or the latest 3.33 BUT you first need to S-OFF your phone.
In Sensation Android Development there are guides that will help you doing this.

you should have used revolutionary.io to S-OFF your device
there wan't no reason to unlock your bootloader with your hboot version
see here http://revolutionary.io/
and after that you have to upgrade your fw version in order to install ics or jb rom

fastboot getvar cid
tell me the output of that command - you need the fastboot files on your computer, then put the phone into bootloader and connect to pc. Open up cmd and cd to where you put the files, eg. "cd C:\fastboot" press enter then run the command

ooooh now i seeit my phone is s-onn ( i thought it was s-off)
i thought it was only possible if i had original RUU

Hi Friends!
I have a Desire S. This device is rooting and have 4ext installed. How its possible the S-OFF? I find can't method to this. My hboot version is 2.00.0002 and this phone came UK orange.

As an alternative.....

You can use Revolutionary to S-OFF but you need to downgrade your HBoot to 0.98.0000 or 0.98.0002 by installing a v1.xxx RUU . Check this thread to learn how.
Remember to find a correctly branded RUU. You can find a list of RUUs here, which isn't given in the guide.

I`ve found something- perhaps might be interesting for you
ERROR [155~159]: IMAGE ERROR
One of these error messages will appear when you use the incorrect RUU to update and the image file size is larger than the Flash ROM size. In this case, download the correct RUU version and try again.
Alternatively (in some cases) right click on the file and choose "Run as Administrator"."
(1) You dont have enought battery
(2) You dont use the right RUU that matches your CID
(3) You downloaded a corrupt file (redownload it)
(4) You dont run the file as you phone is in recovery (in fastboot mode)
(5) You didnt relock your bootloader

Have you created a gold card?

So that the device came. I dont have goldcard etw.. Just running an stock GB rom, and the recovery is changed 4ext the hboot is 2.00.0002. When i got the device from my friend, i unlocked this with htcdev.

did you re lock bootloader? is the ruu matching your Cid?

[Q] Return to full stock

So, I have done a lot of research and I am hung up on one bit.
I have the stock RUU file on my PC.
I also have superCID . I am rooted with S-OFF
Think i used Revolutionary etc. Currently using ARHD 6.8.0
I want to return to Full Stock with S-ON. I looked at this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
But it doesn't say if I need to change my CID back to VODAP001 before or after (Or at all) I flash the Stock RUU. <hope that makes sense?
Could anyone help me?
I basically have the RUU. and need to know about the CID. Does it need to be changed?

Just seen this actually
I can confirm SuperCID is successful as i just flashed a Tmous Rom (1.25.***) to my EU unbranded device to check. (added t-mobile tv and other carrier stuff to my apps list)
Does ^ this mean I can run the RUU with my SUPER CID?
Then just S-On once done??

Hi,
If you are returning your phone for warranty purposes,you need to return your SuperCID to normal.
This should be done after running your RUU,but before going back to s-on.
Look HERE for more information.

you can flash any ruu when you have supercid(that means S-OFF also)

Cool, well the RUU I have will need the VODAP001 *** (I think it's that, will check before I attempt lol)
So I flash the RUU then I can use this:

fastboot oem writecid ******* Replacing the *'s with the CID I need.
Once done, can then return to S-ON

also about S-ON read carefully what it is saying about bootloader
your bootloader must be LOCKED, RELOCKED or UNLOCKED otherwise don't do S-ON

if your bootloader says locked now(as you are mentioning) then you can continue with S-ON
edit:what to do for S-ON?
from the same guide it has a tutorial for it
but i think it is a simple command and then you are done

Sorry, I actually mean, before I restored the RUU it said locked. Now it doesnt mention anything.
It no longer says that, or unlocked / relocked.
So I haven't proceeded with the S-ON command.

Hi,
No.
If you ran a RUU,then,everything would have returned to stock.
S-off is not affected.
So,to get back up and running,you will need to do all these things again.

hello to all . i have a simple question... i don't have a stock sense rom accepted for Moonshine.. so in the case i want to do S-OFF i have to use rumrunner... but the only thing to i try S-OFF its to have the possibility to have SuperCID and use any RUU... so here come my questions:
1-. i don't find a thread to have SuperCID on villeC2.. so its impossible? can't use fastboot write cid 11111111 ?
2-. my model is pj40210, not the universal pj40200 this matter? can i run a ruu for pj40200 on my phone? can damage?

I got it from this site at user friendly firmware, because the rom i'm trying to flash required the 3.33 firmware

i first flash it from command prompt it fail and said remote not allowed then i flash it from bootloader when flashing it says fail-ic (image check fail)

have you enabled usb debugging mode from settings?
when you are using command prompt make sure that you are in fastboot mode
have you installed sdk tools(adb/fastboot) and htc drivers on your pc?

yes rzr86 i've enable usb debugging, when using command prompt i'm in fastboot mode and i've installed sdk tools (adb/fastboot) and htc drivers too on my pc.
so i don't get there is something i'm doing wrong or what or because it's china mobile??
the guy that sell it to me says it's htc sensation 4g but in settings it says Z710T

it is the china version of sensation
i don't know what else to suggest
look in the internet for any guide about china sensations or even here in xda
edit: you can do this
chnage your cid to supercid
then flash whatever ruu you want or try the firmware again

your cid is 11111111 from a previous post of yours
that is supercid
you can use any ruu .exe you want
pick up an ics one

btw bro is there anyway to upgrade the hboot because mine is 0.82.0000
i try five ruu and it keep telling me fail image check and signature verification fail when it atemp to flash the bootloader
now the things is it's possible to upgrade the hboot??
