[Q] Paranoid Android Settings? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've recently flash PA's latest build, 4.2 beta, but my ROM settings appear to have vanished? Anyone know how to get them back? Do i need a reflash?

Well, I no longer can customize any settings regarding the ROM, its like i never flashed anything.

Did you read what PA is about? Have you read the PA changelog? There is no rom settings in PA.

AH, yes I didn't catch on to that.
Thanks.

It's not that there are no Rom settings, it is that all the settings there are, are integrated into the appropriate sections and you will not see a specific PA settings section within settings.

Problems rooting gingerbread.

Is anyone else having issues trying to root once updated? Super one click just stalls out while trying to run. Any ideas? I've tried resetting the phone. I'd like to remove all the crappy bloat.

Stock 4.0.3 ! But I would flash to another rom if necessary ...(^3^)

Share with us man! How can you do that on stock rom? Allways wanted it !
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
You need a custom rom for that.
For instance cm9: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399035
Ahh, that is most likely cm9 in the image since its above the notifications. Though extended controls does very nearly the exact same thing, and works on stock.

Droid Razr-Jelly Bean 4.1.1 Custom Rom by OSSx

Just finished basically porting and re-writing some coding from galaxy nexus' 4.1.1 ROM to my Razr, and rooted it. I have a screenshot before porting status bar from GN(

) and after, (cant post yet[taptalk wont allow]) The "about phone" section does have all the info of the Galaxy Nexus because I didn't know how to get it to be compatible any other way, plus the status bar went along with it. I haven't seen any other razr running 4.1.1 so i feel sort of accomplished
Edit: Will upload other pic(about) after xda will allow me to use taptalk host
Edit II: Feedback please?

Please make CM9 Notification-Drawer like this

Everybody, please take a look on a Notification Drawer (Android 4.0.4):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
That image is taken from Arc S ROM Pureness (Android 4.0.4):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1788701 (screenshots on page 2)
The notification-drawer with big digital clock and small date, similiar to CM10, it's awesome. Unfortunately, CM10 is not stable (i.e Bluetooth). So...
ARE THERE ANY CM9 MOD TO CHANGE NOTIFICATION-DRAWER LIKE THAT? Please...
Moved to General forum. Please only post ROMs, mods, and other development related work in the Dev forum.
Thank you,

Only added bug in CM10 is having to reboot the phone to activate Bluetooth.
Nothing else.
So just upgrade and save yourself the hassle.

CM9 is now better and more stable, I don't want to reboot my phone everytime want to use bluetooth. CM10 have some other bugs while CM9 goes with Alpha 12, fix many things for daily using.
There is a thread in themes&apps that will help you

Sprint app removal

Okay, so I installed the Sprint Zone app because I actually use it and find it functional. However, with the latest update it also installed sprint fun & games. Something I don't want. I searched for the file using root explored and also checked the system app file and data app file. I can't find it anywhere to rename it bak. Anyone have any luck finding it?

After I saw this thread yesterday I looked around for it too. Seems they are linked somehow, but this is what I saw under app info, at the very bottom.
Both are the same app you need to uninstall the update

I went a head and uninstalled the update. After I did that the app forced closed and wouldnt function properly. The only way to get it to work as before was to update it. I went through the app file and found the fun and games and seen the launch was set to 1. I wonder if changing that to 0 would mess with the Sprint Zone app? Now I just need to find an editor.
