I've never heard of this, if you received the apk from the play store it is safe, if you downloaded from another URL it probably has malware injected.

I got the apk from the app store. It's a strange one. I just submitted to avast for verification.

That is really strange. I just copied the .apk from my device and ran a scan on it on my Windows machine with ESET. ESET found every part of it to be clean, so then I moved the file to my Linux machine and checked it with ClamAV, which also showed it as clean. Odd.
You took one step ahead of me and submitted it to avast. I'd love to see what it comes back as.

It was only after a recent avast update. It flagged a couple of apps including Google currents and music as issues but everything had been downloaded or updated from the play store. I'm aware of downloading from unknown sources and the possibility of dodgy apps on the play store but I'm sure I didn't dl anything bad.

Connect Amazon purchased apps to the Android market?

is there a way to connect Amazon purchased apps to the Android market? I bought them at a good price, some were free, but I like the Android Market better.

The newer version of titanium backup let's you force an app to be linked to the market. Worked on my phone.

You may be able to force paid apps from amazon to be recognized in google market but you will not be able to use the market to update the paid amazon apps. Just not going to happen without paying for them again in the market.

The Amazon market is to quirky for me, I have had the same updates pushed at me 4 times. Good prices, but hard to deal with.

Impossible. Paid apps are linked to your account through Google's server, not on your phone. Using titanium just gives your app a market link. It changes nothing on Google's server. If you got paid apps to update then you paid for them a second time through the Market.

Dude I know it sounds impossible but apps I never downloaded from Google, ONLY ON AMAZON, are now showing as downloaded and update through Google. Call bs all you want, but it happened.

Not only sounds impossible but is impossible. And I didn't say free apps. I said paid apps.
Purchases are connected to your google account. Even if you link Amazon app to market, market shows the price when you try to update the app through it.

Am I the o ly one with this issue?

Everytime I go into the android market to download an App I paid for, it tells me that I did not purchase it? Why is this happening and I am using the right account and everything.

Try uninstalling the app that you're having trouble with, then go into settings/applications and clear the data for market. Then open market log in again and see if that fixes it.

Just a thought, but did you pay for the app yourself with that account? I have a few paid apps that I have acquired or was passed on to me and since I didn't purchase them mighty Google knows and it gives me the same comment of not allowing to update, when there is an update for that app. So I just don't update that app....
Also I have found some paid apps, if you install but you didn't pay for them, you acquired them...the market will flag it and not let you use it, say you have apk (app file) and you are installing that app it will validate thru the market once you install and it will say or not allow you to use it....it will uninstall it....some apps...but if you use a firewall app to block the market and market only your app will run fine. But you are cut off from the market, you just have allow thru you firewall if you want to access the market again and then block it again...
But with so many very cheap apps, I have found.....if I want and use it on a regular basis I just buy it...
Ex is almost right, and yes that's the fix...but...don't clear market data and cache, have to clear Google services data and cache, plus Google services framework, and updates...that will fix your issue

No XDA/XDA Premium App In Google Play Store!

I noticed today after flashing a ROM that there is no XDA or XDA Premium app in the Google Play Store. This is crap because I have payed for the Premium version and should be able to download it if I need to. Luckily I have a Titanium Backup but if I didn't I guess I would be s.o.l. unless I could get an .apk somewhere.
Has anyone else noticed this?
It makes me wonder how many other apps are like this...
Tapatalk is still available but it is about the principle of the matter. I am not even sure who to contact about this...Google or someone here at XDA.
it could be the rom you flashed.

I just noticed this as well, I did a reset and decided to reinstall the xda app... Nowhere to be found :3
Apparently this is a "known issue" and Google is looking into it:
Applications missing from "My Apps"
We're aware of reports from some users that several applications
are missing under "My Apps" on their devices, and we're currently
looking into the issue."
I clicked the button to report the issue. Ah, technology...can't live with it...can't live without it!
You're right! Just checked myself on my tablet.
(I would post a screenshot, but apparently it has an invalid JPEG file extension.)

Why open a thread about XDA when one is already open and that issue is known?

Airblocker App

I have MP3 download, tunee music, and music junk downloaded (use one or the other when I get the network error). As most of us know these apps will push ads to the notification tray. I downloaded Airblocker App and it detects these and I have chosen to block ads.
I am not getting the ads as often but still the occasional one... which is very annoying.
Anyone have any other methods or apps to block these?
Running CleanROM 4.1 DE
The worst is when they add shortcuts to the screen. Ugh
Anyways the best I can do is this. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lbe.security.lite
I use this to block Swype from gathering info so I imagine it would work for something like this as well. I know what you are talking about I just haven't tested this for that yet. Lemme know, it should work

The new mp3 app is legit, I still recommend this permission manager. This lets you control permission for everything... similar to the new superuser controls.

From the market. There are several. I used to use one called "permissions free", I think that is what it was called. Be careful though changing some of the permissions may cause force close on the app. A uninstall reinstall should fix that if it does happen.
Root required

special thanks for posting this. I LOVE this app and it is by far the most thorough app to control access to your phone:good::good:

Does anyone know,.?

Does anyone know how to make an application that will not allow Facebook to be installed? I might be interested in purchasing an application like this or making 1

If you don't want a particular app then don't install it. There's probably no way to block installation of a given app.

What he said. Is there a particular reason you want to block the installation of Facebook?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Though if you had a vendetta (and a rooted phone), you could always just put a Facebook catch-all into your hosts file to black-hole attempts to reach them. Wouldn't stop the app, would stop it from ever actually working and any website connecting there.
I think you would need to sign up for a MDM service. There a few of them out there and they should be able to either block apps from being installed or automatically uninstall it if it gets installed.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Haha sorry I was just kidding but also wondering. Yeah I know how to install apps or not. I was thinking of an app that you can download and then when you did want to download facebook it wouldn't let you. Its really just a joke brotherhood. I don't have a Facebook problem but I see one developing lol.
