I have MP3 download, tunee music, and music junk downloaded (use one or the other when I get the network error). As most of us know these apps will push ads to the notification tray. I downloaded Airblocker App and it detects these and I have chosen to block ads.
I am not getting the ads as often but still the occasional one... which is very annoying.
Anyone have any other methods or apps to block these?
Running CleanROM 4.1 DE
The worst is when they add shortcuts to the screen. Ugh
Anyways the best I can do is this. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lbe.security.lite
I use this to block Swype from gathering info so I imagine it would work for something like this as well. I know what you are talking about I just haven't tested this for that yet. Lemme know, it should work

The new mp3 app is legit, I still recommend this permission manager. This lets you control permission for everything... similar to the new superuser controls.

From the market. There are several. I used to use one called "permissions free", I think that is what it was called. Be careful though changing some of the permissions may cause force close on the app. A uninstall reinstall should fix that if it does happen.

When I had my EVO I had a Gallery App that I thought was called Gallery 3D. It used the cooliris engine to view albums and pictures. It automatically pulled in the pictures in my Picasa account without me having to have to set the account up.
I could have sworn that it came preinstalled on my EVO but I could be wrong. I know it was free because I checked all my purchased apps and it's not amongst them.
I have searched the Android Market and the only thing that comes close and looks like it is Gallery Pro but it a paid app and I am 100% certain it was free.
Do you have any idea what this app is?
Cheers!!

I wonder why it's no longer in the market.
I had originally found it on xda a long time ago. Didn't know it was a market app.

I cannot install it
Is there any trick to install this app on my E4G touch. First it shows as a system app and asks if I want to replace it. When I press OK and Install it says application not installed.
Please help!!!
Thanks
Mario
Well, does your ROM already include gallery 3d? If it says its a system app and shows not installed, then use root explorer to manually put the app in system/app and set permissions to rw-r-r. And reboot.
Or using adb, push gallery3d.apk/system/app SD card/download /gallery 3d.apk "enter" chmod 0755 (or maybe 0644)
(My adb commands are likely wrong, but close. Root explorer is what I use for root level managing )

Ever since I updated to 2.35 T-Mobile, YouTube links no longer open in the app, is there a fix for this?

Does this app association issue affect only the US rom? Because I'm now on EU 4.0.4 and everything is working as expected.

For someone who came into this thread with such an attitude, you are completely and utterly wrong. US customers have an app called htclinkifydispatcher that prevents hyperlinks from directly opening associated apps. You can thank Apple for this, but unless you root, there is no way around this little annoyance.

Either way works, but yours is only worthwhile if they're not rooted, where as the link I supplied will provide a much better solution for rooted individuals. Not sure why it upset you, though.

Quite simply, is anyone else having issues with the app? I'm talking about the Play Store app, not through Tapatalk. Probably been almost a week it seems very goofy. Every other app on my phone works fine. Android Central works flawless (in comparison) but not XDA

I agree, minor, frustrating but annoying too. Haha. My pm box has been useless today for a few hours. In the last few days it's been hit or miss. Plus content takes forever to load sometimes, even the latest posts when you open the app.

Xda app has always had some minor glitches ever since I used it. I found that they mostly pop up after restoring apps on a new ROM. So what I do is just uninstall it and reinstall fresh and everything works good again, mostly.

See I guessed the same thing and it still doesn't work for me. I nailed down too that one specific message in my PM box will FC the app. Weird. I had to go on my laptop to check and delete it. Online works perfect but the app has just been strange lately. At least for the most part the forum loads and I don't get FC issues but issues still persist.
I'm enjoying this community here so much I check often, sucks when the app is malfunctioning.

For those having issues accessing their pm box, what I usually do is go to my profile the my posts and then click on a post (any). Then back out then got to pm box. Usually works. I know it's ridiculous to have to that but it's a work around. It may not work for everyone but I hardly ever have force closes that way. Just fyi.

If you don't want a particular app then don't install it. There's probably no way to block installation of a given app.

What he said. Is there a particular reason you want to block the installation of Facebook?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Though if you had a vendetta (and a rooted phone), you could always just put a Facebook catch-all into your hosts file to black-hole attempts to reach them. Wouldn't stop the app, would stop it from ever actually working and any website connecting there.
I think you would need to sign up for a MDM service. There a few of them out there and they should be able to either block apps from being installed or automatically uninstall it if it gets installed.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Haha sorry I was just kidding but also wondering. Yeah I know how to install apps or not. I was thinking of an app that you can download and then when you did want to download facebook it wouldn't let you. Its really just a joke brotherhood. I don't have a Facebook problem but I see one developing lol.

Does anyone know of any app that performs a similar function to MIUI's Guard mode?
What it basically does is, hide your SMS, Call Log, and Gallery photos until you input the pass-code. It does not delete everything, it just hides it until guard mode is disabled. I would like it for those situations, were I'm at work, or visiting my parents, ect... and I don't want someone to accidentally stumble upon something incriminating in my phone while using it.
EDIT: It doesn't not hide the apps, it hides the things in the apps. So for example: I could still send sms without seeing every other sms I have on my phone.
I know this isn't exactly what you're looking for but it's the closest I could find. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.domobile.applock
