New P5210 SGT 3 10.1 ROM Release - Galaxy Tab 3 General

Has anyone upgraded their P5210 to the new release XAR-P5210UEUANB2? I downloaded the firmware last night but am debating loading it. I have multiple backups so if anything goes awry I can put my tablet back to the way I like it. Just trying to figure out if it would benefit me to move to the new version. Couldn't find what the difference was between the new version and the XAR-P5210UEUAMK1 version.

No Difference

I have noticed no difference in any way... I am thinking this might be prep for 4.4.2, they have done this with other Galaxy Models include the Note 3 prior to 4.4.2...
Let's hope...

I find it interesting that a new release was available but very little on what was added/changed/deleted. Well at least nothing that I could find. I might be looking in the wrong places. So, a precursor to 4.4.x release? That could be so. But I have to ask myself if I want to upgrade to KK or not. What will it bring to the Tab 3 10.1 P5210 table? I guess that will be the deciding factor.

Some minor API changes, obviously they are getting prepared for a major update and they try not to break anything.

Nice, so I guess an upgrade will benefit me if I elect to download KK. Thanks
How would I go about upgrading without disturbing my present state and apps? Basically just changing the rom ver and nothing else like data and what not?

My ROM is coming !
With this, your Tab will even more than Galaxy Note 10.1 2014

[Q] P3113 JB Update

Anyone knows when the update is going to arrive? This device had had only two leaks, and yet still not official firmware even thought the other devices in the galaxy tab 2 line have received their 4.1.1 update.
Nope. On the Samsung website the answer to that question is that they don't/won't "speculate" when a release may come out.

What's taking them so long? I mean I've been waiting for like3 months and my device is the only one not getting the update. Guess I'll stick with CM10.1
yup, we covered this last week here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2046567
ALWAYS assume your question or comment has been asked and do a good search before starting a repetitive thread.
Also if your on CM 10.1 your not gonna even get the update (and why would you want to use an OLDER version anyway) unless you use Triangle away to reset the flash counter and revert to stock.

I'm not talking about OTA or not. I'm only talking about the jb update for this device. I obviously know I won't get the update on CM but I can revert back to stock as I want the stock jb for p3113.

My Galaxy Tab 7.7 is still using Android 3.2 - How do I update to the latest Android?

Default My 7.7 tab is still at Anroid version 3.2 ....what is the best ROM now?

What must I do now to update to the latest, fastest, and most stable version of Android?
Is there an easy tutorial?

I agree, It might seem a bit overwhelming, but flashing is risky business if you don't know what you're doing. The thread is pretty clear with everything. It was my starting point when I was upgrading to ICS 4.0.
I prefer Mobile Odin over the pc version but that's your choice to make.
Cant he just do an OTA software up-date???
Bumping up...I am getting a p6800 next month and wondered the same...can I just do an OTA?

You won't know until you get it. If you're in Asia, OTA JB is a possibility, otherwise ICS....
If no OTA available, as per previous thread posts, just flash manually with Odin.

Android 5 support for Note 10.1 1st gen

Hello guys,
I searched on the internet about this topic, but I couldn't find anything related. However, I'm very curious if the first generation of Note 10.1 tablets (GT-N8000/8010/8013/8020) will get the Android OS 5 update.
Anything announced regarding this?
I think there will be No official update.
KitKat 4.4.2 will be the last version update of GT-N80xx.
Definitely not! N8000 update history:
- in a shop on september 2012 (here) with android 4.0
- got an update on january 2013 to android 4.1
- today on july 2014 still waiting an update
And im pretty sure it is a final release and the (phone)tablet is totally then forgotten...

It's not that bad if I'm honest... The newer software actually removes some of the goodness that makes the N8000/N8010 different from the bunch, like multi-windows for example. Sure there are more bells and whistles for the S-Pen but less multitasking friendly. Basically you're left with lots of custom roms, which is not bad by itself. It just requires more effort.

That article is one year old. Hence that we didn't know that kit kat was 5.0 or 4.4 back then.

Makes sense - kitkat announced September last year. Won't get hope up then !
Yeap i highly doubt there will be an official android L update for this series. However i can't wait to flash CM12 when it comes out to the device. It will give it another lease of life.
No More official version update after 4.4.2 KK...
But it is possible to port a custom ROM for N80xx in the future...

Android L????
Seriously?
I'd be happy if my 8013 get 4.4.2 - I'm not even going to pretend to expect to see L.

I love each update a manufacturer releases but to be honest i buy my device expecting none. I expect the warranty to be up held as long as I don't monkey with it (I never have a warranty). I expect build quality to be acceptable. I expect the functions it is supposed to have when I purchase it to work properly (never gonna happen because of wifi and bluetooth bug). The new OS versions usually contain a small benefit but rarely something outrageous and if I need that function (never have that I can recall since 4.0) I turn to mods. I think Samsung builds and prices these devices with a few updates in mind but to be realistic a company would go bankrupt if they produced updates for each device for as long as we the customer would like lol.

Thinking of getting G3 coming from S4, is the current G3 stock still able to use roms

So as some of you may know the S4 had it's exploit fixed and since then we haven't been able to get away from Touchwiz based roms.
Before I go get the G3 I just wanted to be 100% clear that even the latest firmware hasn't fixed Bump, and I will be able to do other AOSP roms. From my quick research it seems like it's fine, but I only have 20 minutes left to get it friday instead of monday, so I figured I would just ask to be safe.

AT&T released firmware Build number: KVT49L.D85010f to patch root exploit. Read this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-lg-g3/general/d850-software-update-t2937550
When Android Lollipop rolls out to G3 in the near future, rooting will be harder to accomplish. Same for other brands.

But that is recent enough that a phone bought today will not come with it out of the box, so I'm not worried about that.
And in theory I can just flash a bumped lollipop build later anyway right?
I just want to make sure it's not in the same current state as the S4 where you have to have touchwiz and match roms to bootloader version and what not.
I know there isn't too many roms yet with bump being fairly new, but as long as I stay on the current build I should be fine going forward no?
And I guess on that note, the stock rom isn't nearly as bad touchwiz is it?

Cool, I went for it, thanks for the quick clarifications. I can read all about everything now while I impatiently wait for UPS friday.
with LG phones you can always downgrade the software to a version where you can root.
I am sure there will be a way to get official lollipop while keeping custom recovery and root.
Once again, LG locked the door but forgot to close it before locking like what they did on the G2. So we were still able to upgrade while keeping custom recovery and root by mixing and matching partitions from upgrade and previous versions.

Galaxy Note 8 Update Question

Hey everyone, I'm relatively new here, so I'm hoping this is the proper section to post my question regarding my Note 8's inability to find an update. It's model number is SM-N950U, and baseband version N950USQS3BRB2 (AT&T). It has the stock 7.1.1 firmware, and it absolutely will not find any firmware updates when I search. It's driving me crazy because my other note 8 is updated to 9, however its screen is cracked to ****. And my old Note 8 is in perfect condition. Any info or tips would be great help. And again, I've tried looking through the forums at firmware links and lists, but I can't find any update files for my specific baseband version. I don't know if that matters or not. Anyways, thanks for anyone's time that helps.

You cannot update from the N950USQS3BRB2 firmware version that's why it's not finding anything. You need to manually update it yourself to the next update version which I think is N950USQU3CRC2 using Odin and then it'll be able to do it on it's own.
Hey Mike whats up bro. My Note 9 does this same thing. Seems that a lot of people with At&t have this issue. My 8 is still on BRK2 rooted, and will stay that way..lol.

Hey what's up brother!! I noticed that too and I think they're messing something up and then when they push the update out it's supposed to see a certain version to update from and if they mess up the version it's supposed to see by typos or something then it just doesn't update and then keeps saying you're on the latest firmware version even though you know you're not lol.. Usually when I run into that problem if you update it yourself to the next version it seems to clear the problem. Personally I don't like updating either because we all know that they're just putting a bunch of junk on the phone in order to make it get slower and slower to make us get annoyed with it and buy a new phone..

Thank you so much for your response. I manually updated it to CRC2 yesterday using ADB. Now it's at version 8. The whole reason I was wanting to update it was because of the PIP feature in 8. Now i just have to get it updated to 9. But it's still not finding an update when I search. So I may have to manually do it again.

Try downloading this version N950USQU4CRD7 and then see if it'll update on it's own.
You are right Mike, sometimes you have to get device on right path before it will process an OTA. Now me I am a little OCD and I would rather use Odin or firmware Science method to update. It's just something about OTA vs connection when updating that gets my OCD...lol
