[Q] RIL for Moto G - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone know where to find the G's RIL (Radio Interface Layer)?
Beacuse I'm having a problem since I flashed AOSPA, where I have neither 3G nor 2G (but I can text and call).
So I read on a Galaxy SII thread here on xda where they fixed it by getting the device's RIL (with an app called GetRIL, but sadly the G isn't compatible).
I use an International GSM Version (XT1032) on Movistar Argentina.

You could go here and try and flash your radio through your recovery or fast boot
here's the forum for the flashable zip too so you can try it

Is it possible to get data connection with stock rom?

Using a GSM modded Photon Q on ATT and get a data connection with CM10.1 but not with stock rom. Made sure APNs were the same and all, but nothing I tried helps. Is there a way to get data working on any version of the stock rom?
Probably not without patching the stock ROM.
So you are using a modded photon Q on GSM in the US and only getting data on cm 10.1?

Converting Boost Mobile Moto G to GPE?

I've seen many cases where people have converted their Moto G into a Play Edition. However, those cases were always with the GSM unlocked version.
Is it possible to convert the Boost Mobile variant Moto G into a Play Edition?
In all of the guides, it says to flash the GPE modem, but wouldn't that break CDMA data?

Anyone?

Haven't tried it my self. There is some information in the mototool thread if you do some searching. Sounds like you have to flash the CDMA modem and the phone aspect of things might not work "out of the box".
Anyway worth a try, if your not relying on the phone.
I was going to do it, but then I realized that the stock boost ROM is working really well for me.

Different file system, COMPLETELY pure android (no Motorola or boost Mobile apps or services), and because the annoying profile updater repetitively comes up around twice an hour. GPE stock rom doesn't have any of that.

here is what i did with my new "boost" mobile phone.
Flashed the Boost 4.4.2 rom
flashed the Verizon 4.4.2 rom on top.
activated the phone and 3G with page plus
then i flashed CyanogenMod11 on top of verzion.
works so far, still get the page plus service.
not sure about 3g cuz i'm out of data.
if i can flash cm11, you can probably do GPE if they work the same way.
(unless it affects the radio partition)
but you can always flash it back

The main reason I am asking is because the stock gpe ROM is specifically designed for the sim unlocked gsm moto g.

if the GPE rom is anything like the pure stock AOSP android. then it will work.

In my view there is no real advantage switching to GPE. Moto G uses f2fs filesystem which is faster then ext4. At least many posts and reviews say that. The Moto G is nearly Stock android. If you are rooted, you can freeze unwanted system apps or even remove them. I havent't heard anything about a profile updater. Also you can make a cwm backup, add and remove apps on your pc and flash it again if you want a fresh installation with less apps.
I tried to fastboot flash the images, it booted, but it had no signal and MEID was equal to zero

Moto G LTE (XT 1045) 'No SIM' after CM 12.1 July 21st nightly

Any of the CM 12.1 nightlies after 7/21 render my device unable to recognize the SIM card--I know it is the nightly because when I roll back to 7/21 the SIM card returns to functioning. Does anyone else have this issue? Is it/can it be addressed?

Oh my, forgot to update my thread! Shortly after posting this, I discovered this thread on the CM forums: http-colon-slash-slash-forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/112969-no-sim-card-xt1039-nightly-20150723-and-20150724/. (new user, can't post links yet lol) Newer versions of CM 12.1 require you to update the radio firmware along with the bootloader. this fixed the problem exactly!
