No.. at least not right away.
My understanding is that you can only switch after you've been on pre-paid for at least 6 months.
And trust me, if you are coming from a LG G2, you'll find the Moto G kinda slow, with smaller low-res screen and above all.. NO 4G !

[Q] INQ Cloud Touch OR LG Optimus One

As of now, im in the market for a NEW phone, off contract under $100
Currently i am using a CLIQ from the states. The problem with this phone is that in canada, the 3G on bell and rogers works on the same radios as AT&T,and therefore my phone only works with 2g.
I am on prepaid with speakout mobile(10$ for 2500 texts, 10$ for unlimited data) and it can access 3G AND 4G data on the rogers network, but as my phone can only use 2g i see no point in keeping it.
Now that its boxing day time i start looking through my flyers and i see a LG Optimus One for about 60$ and a INQ Cloud Touch for 90$ and im debating both of them. These are both on telus prepaid and need to be unlocked..
Now, i was wondering which phone would be better to buy?
The INQ Or the LG? Or is there another phones in that price range i should buy?
The INQ has a larger screen and a better camera with a greater visual appeal, but the LG has a huge Dev community with many roms, and it is cheaper.
So, i was wondering which phone would be a better buy? Im leaning towards the LG because of its rootablility and because i like [URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1408952"This ROM.[/URL]
Furthermore, i am wondering if there is a way with ABD or something like that to carrier unlock the Optimus one and be able to use it with another SIM. or would i have to do it the "Old fashioned way" and buy the unlock code?
Thanks for all the help
dont touch the inq its a horrid phone i had it here in the uk used it for 2 days the battery is evil and only lasted me 4 hours? like come and the lg is fine but maybe see if you can get beefy if you can or if you a great one is a zte blade

Tmobile Data Plan with Moto G?

Hi, planning on getting the Moto G for my dad. He currently is in a grandfathered family plan and it doesn't have data on it.
If I get him the Moto G from amazon and not tmobile, is Tmobile going to automatically add data plan to his plan when they recognize the IMEI? I don't want that, and would prefer for him to keep his current plan with no data and just be able to swap sims with no other BS.
Thanks.
Don't worry. From what I'm aware of, T-mobile doesn't serve that kind of BS like ATT does. If the sim fits, just put it into the phone, or have T-mobile swap it to the correct sim size.

Verizon Moto G Prepaid options

Just picked up a dirt cheap Moto G for my son. What are some of the best/cheapest prepaid plans (MVNO) some of you guys are running with the VZW G. Thought I saw a good thread about this yesterday (9.99 a month no data, just talk and text) but cant seem to locate it now.
Thanks for any feedback

With the Verizon Moto G, you'll only be able to use it on Verizon's prepaid plan for six months. After that, we're not sure, since nobody has gotten that far yet. But as of right now, Verizon has $45 for unlimited talk, text, and 500mb of data, with data packages available for $5, $10, and $20, for 500mb, 1gb, and 2gb, respectively. After my six months is up, I plan on taking it to Page Plus, for unlimited talk and text with 1gb of data for $40. You could also go for the cheaper plans on Page Plus, the one my wife is on is 1200 minutes, 3000 texts, and 500mb for $30.

PagePlus offers a $10/100 minutes/4 months plan: voice + text + data. I have a (VZW firmware) modded Boost Mobile Moto G using that plan, and with mobile data disabled. The Moto G's sold by Verizon and Best Buy are 6 month blacklisted for use with Page Plus. Someone discovered that the $99 Boost Mobile Moto G's somehow escaped being blacklisted for Page Plus.
Ok thanks for the info guys. May go and pick up a Boost device so I can go with the much cheaper plan.

Buy a $10 tracfone and switch to boost. Boom $53 phone right there. We'll +$10 for the tracfone but think of that as the unlock fee xP, much cheaper than unlocking a Verizon phone.

If you want to get the moto g on boost, this is the cheapest way. I just did this today myself.
TMobile: So looking at Walmart's website I can get the $30 plan for 100 min, unl text and data. Could I buy a T Mobile compatible Moto G and jump on this plan. Anyone have experience with this?

[Q] Question about Sprint's Moto G

Hey, I purchased a used Moto G 8GB by Sprint for my dad for father's day off of Ebay. I've never dealt with Sprint but when I bought the phone it said the ESN was cleaned... So, I thought I was good to go. My father uses Iwireless and they have a byop only for Sprint used phone. I tried registering the phone with Iwireless and to find out the phone has a balance of a unpaid bill from previous owner. I called Sprint and got no where they just gave me the run around. Also, they told me to contact the original owner and have them pay the remaining balance. So, is it a way I could mod the phone or my dad can use it for WiFi calling / mp3 player? I got a refund on the phone + I got to keep it.
Does Sprint have a Moto G? And on contract? I never heard of it. Weird.
I do know that there is a Boost Mobile (Sprint MVNO) Moto G, but its prepaid only so there can't be a unpaid balance. Hmmm... I guess, you should pay the balance or get a new phone.

Only reason I called it a Sprint Moto G because when I bought it off of ebay it said "Moto G Sprint" The version of the phone is HW Version: P3C and I google it and I do think its a Boost Mobile phone.

Why doesn't T-Mobile or MetroPCS carry the Moto G or E?

Especially MetroPCS. These Phones are perfect for the consumers who use metro as their carrier. They are amazing phones for the price, fits perfectly in the average prices of metros phones, AND with Metro's rebates on new devices these would be best sellers garunteed. As of right now TMO and Metro's phones in this segment don't even come close to the functionality and specs. Has this been asked before? And is it maybe Motorola won't load IG with extra bloatwafe? At&T and cricket both have them, but sadly with bootloaders that can't be unlocked. I'm posting this because I feel like it could be gotten at such good deal after rebates (instant at metro stores)if they would carry them
I'm on MetroPCS and agree with ya that they'd make perfect phones for customers and would probably sell well. However I wouldn't buy one for the reason you stated about Cricket's 1st and 2nd gen G's are locked up tight. I bought my 1st gen 3G version straight from Moto and use it with a MetroPCS SIM. It works great on their network (at least in Dallas it does).

Well in the case of the 3rd gen Moto G and 2nd gen E, I imagine the lack of band 12 is a major downside as T-mobile probably doesn't want to be selling a device that will see weaker and less coverage in the areas that 70% of their consumer base is located. That and they can't brand really put any of their bloatware on it which they like to do.
