iWing WTD2, USD 109.99 may be the lowest price for 4-core CPU plus 720p IPS - Android General

The first 1000 pcs of iWing WTD2 is presold at a price of 109.99 US dollars, the cheapest phone i've ever seen with the key components of MTK6582 4-core CPU and 1280x720p IPS screen.
OS: android. 4.2.2
CPU: MTK6582, 4-core, 1.3Ghz
GPU: OpenGL ES 2.0, Mali-400 MP2
Screen: 5 inches, 1280x720 pixels, IPS, OGS Full-Lamination
RAM: 1GB
Nand Flash: 4GB, expandable to 32GB
Camera: Back 8MP, front 2MP
This phone is made by Wingtech, the ODM of Hongmi, so the new Phone is almost a spatting image, except that there is a golden version.

How about its network frequency? can it support 1800MHz?
I used to use TIM's card. and does it have Google play installed?

Yeah, that's a important question. In my area, the ISP only support 1900MHz. I'm afraid I can't use this phone.

Not very new technology.
Fundamentally, a screen has three layers, a protective glass on the surface, a touch screen under it, and a display screen inmost.
OGS means the protective glass and touch screen is seamlessly combined into one layer. This helps make the phone thinner.

i had a chance with the engineering set in hand, which notched a score of 9,625 on Antutu Bench Mark. And i'll make a complete review when the optimized product is available for me.

Was also looking at this phone, but i don't know the many people on the review on Youtube say that the camera is really poor. And there are no proper reviews or camera tests. Maybe the camera is interpolated..
Those are actually my main concerns, the battery being poor quality and not real 2000mAh, and the camera being interpolated and thus really bad compared my current sensor. Even through they say it's a
8MP camera with CMOS sensor, support Auto-focus, flash light and other functions

Thank you very much, I've came across this brand but did not check any reviews. The design was a bit odd, but i have been reading some reviews and the brand seems indeed to be at least better then iWing. Also the price is amazing for the specification, however i do read on some boards that the camera specifications are incorrect on many re-seller webshops. The camera of the doogee dg-350 has a rear 5mp sensor and not 8mp. It is interpolated.
Not sure if this correct or incorrect through
I would not be worried about it much if i didn't use my phones camera much. But my phones camera is my primary camera, so it needs to be decent.

Not sure i am also wondering about the quality. Someone should really do a proper review of this. I might just risk it, not sure have to wait until i have my money. I will make a good review if i have the phone. But still not sure if i will go for this one or another brand with better camera.
Still have to do some research through.

Hey, i may not give you a complete review, because the factory is making customized operating system on the original Android 4.2.2. Before the final version comes out, iWing gave some samples to sellers for feedback, including my friend. The OS rebuilding has not finished, but the ultimate UI will not be very different from what is shown in the video i made.
The launcher is gone, with only home screens left. The section for widgets is hidden and you need to press and hold the home screen to make it appear. And there is an extra part like the Spotlight search page on older IOS, but it is for you to open or clean recently used apps, monitor interenet traffic, start flashlight, and so on. Have a look.

Hi all,
I bought an iWing WTD2 for my wife. We have one serious problem, and I'm stuck.
If 3G is enabled (WCDMA only or GSM/WCDMA mode) the caller parties don't hear each other. The call is set up no matter whether the WTD2 is the caller or the called party, but noone hears the other. 3G data traffic however works like a charm.
If I want to use the phone hmmm as a phone and make calls, I either have to set it to GSM only, or put the SIM in the 2nd -2G- slot which basically is the same. In this case everything is perfect, but obviously there is no 3G. And when I say perfect, it is something better than expected, we love it. However I want the 3G problem solved.
The phone supports 2100MHz WCDMA, that is the frequency T-Mobile Hungary is using in their network, it must be fine. And as I wrote, 3G data traffic works perfectly. I suspect that either the 3G chip is faulty somehow, or it is a firmware issue.
Neither tinydeal (i bought it in their webshop) nor wingtech is taking the case seriously. The best tinydeal could come up with, is that I shall take it to a local cellphone service, have them checked, ask for a quotation, and they pay part of the cost, however warranty is void if they open the phone. I doubt this is something for a small local cellphone shop.
Any advise?
cheers
szekelya

Motorola Droid Bionic:
The Motorola DROID BIONIC is the first device on Verizon to marry a dual-core processor with 4G LTE connectivity. A 1GHz dual-core chip along with 1GB of DDR2 RAM will power Android 2.3 Gingerbread on the Bionic. The Droid experience is spiced up with apps like ZumoCast which allows you to stream files wirelessly from a computer to the phone. The DROID BIONIC features an 8-megapixel rear camera and a front-facing shooter. But what truly makes the Bionic stand out is its accessories pack - the handset supports Motorola’s WebTop dock and can connect to the LapDock chassis, transforming into a laptop replacement.

As to which phone, if the Vigor has LTE I'll go with that. I'm not sure it has been confirmed one way or another yet. Otherwise I'll be looking at the Bionic or the Samsung Galaxy S II.

Verizon's LTE lineup just keeps looking better and better all the time. The oft-rumored HTC Vigor is the latest device to pass through the halls of the FCC whilst sporting Big Red's 4G frequencies, along with a handy dose of CDMA / EVDO. HTC's still keeping an uber-tight lid on all of the details of this phone, however, mandating that all of the juicy secrets remain confidential for now.

I have a Bionic and I am a long time HTC fan. I think that if the Vigor is 4g and the specs hold true to the rumors, you go with the Vigor.
HTC devices typically run a little smoother in a stock rom and usually have very strong dev communities. Motorola probably has better build quality for the most part but HTC does not make Garbage.
I think the faster clock on the processor and the higher screen res tilt it to the Vigor but if any of those specs turn out different, I might reconsider.
The question is, do you want either of these with the Droid/Nexus Prime rumored to be on the way.

O yea lol ..........
I finally got to play with a Bionic the other day. The physical appearance was certainly handsome, but it was thicker than I had expected it would be for the length of time Motorola took to release it. It was almost the same thickness as the slide-out-keyboard equipped Droid 3. When I was done playing with the Bionic, I went over to the Droid 3 and gave it some more time. I decided the D3 is the better of the two. If I was going to have a thick high-end phone, it would have a good reason for being thick...with a slide-out keyboard.
I have the Charge and took a chance on the Bionic and I'm slightly disappointed. I KNOW Quadrant doesn't mean anything, but if I run my Charge on demand with a clock of up to 1400 Mhz on a single core it can get the same score. Plus I like adw launcher vs the new Moto interface. Something about quickly and easily dropping the 3G vs waiting for Juice Defender Beta to do it is nice and the Super AMOLED PLUS screen is pretty bad a**. I will take the Vigor all day, I agree 100% on the community around HTC and their roms. I will also agree that although it is a rumor, FCC ran the Vigor through with LTE.

The biggest thing that I am afraid will be wrong about the specs is the screen. If is the hd resolution it is rumored to be and it is not pentile, I want it. If it is the same as current devices I want it less. Also, if the Prime has ICS and I have to wait until q2 of next year to get it on the Vigor or Bionic, then I may want the Prime much more. Then there is the rumor that Prime will be 4.5" and that may be a deal breaker for me.

What will that do? Does that let you use your home internet for your phone to lessen your data usage?
Also, what about NFC? Do any of these have that? I haven't seen mention of it.

ICS = Ice Cream Sandwich = Unified Platform
I forgot to mention NFC. Good catch. Not on the Bionic and I have not heard any yays or nays on the Vigor or Prime. However if the Prime is a Nexus device or is based on a Nexus device, I think it is safe to assume that NFC will be built in.

Oh! I googled ICS and came up with Internet Connection Sharing.
Specs aside pentile display is enough. I don't understand how a company can make a screen w visible dots, tell people oh that's just pentile matrix and expect people to be happy. That's a terrible reason for a dotted display. I am dotty if it offends some people but I won't / can't pay money for anything that isn't as clear as other screens available. for any reason. Its a disappointment. Especially when superamoled+ is on the way.
Now specs side...there isn't much to compare. Both are nice solid phones but adreno 220 takes the cake. If HTC died in 4 hours I would still buy it and buy the biggest battery i could lol

The pentile display is weird. I could live with it if there were not higher res non pentile displays on the way. It just makes everything look like instead of putting a flat image in place, they put some kind of texturing. It is weird. That and the whole bootloader thing are the only things holding the Bionic back.
I agree with taking the 3g and go with sense the more i use it the more i like it.

Chinese Phone's on US Tmobile 4g

Hello Guys, was wondering, would you guys recommend a chinese smartphone to use in Tmobile's 4G network? I was thinking of buying rollmid(dot)com/new-arrival-mtk6577-n9776-6-inch-fwvga-smartphone-1-2ghz-dual-core-3200mah-wifi-5-0mp-camera.html
or one of the phones mentioned in some other threads such as Haipai I9220 etc. My question is, would you guys recommend using any chinese smartphone? If so which one would be best for the tmobile 4g network and that can be rooted?
Thanks.
You and i think alike! I am looking at 6-inch, 854 x 480 phones, or "phablets" . For now, the N9776 appears to be the best: It's shortest (158mm), narrowest (87mm), has the largest battery (3200 mAH), and is the only one with Dolby 5.1 speakers, if the specifications are correct. At about $200 shipped, it's also just about the cheapest.
The CarPad Note5 F6 was the first. It may be the best-built and most intelligently designed, like an Apple product Available with an MTK5675 or MTK5677 dual-core CPU. The LCD is definitely IPS; maybe the others, are, too.
The a9800 and i9800 use the older MTK6575 CPU.
The n9880 (corrected from n9800) has only 260,000 colors, so it is not IPS. But it has 8GB of ROM. The Viewsonic n9880 claims to use an MTK6577; other n9880 variations, only the MTK6575.
All have only 512MB of RAM, even if the seller says 1GB.
Although none has the 1700 MHz band, they all have 2100 and of course 850/1900. I plan to join T-Mobile's $30-a-month prepaid online plan: 5GB of 4G data, only 100MB of voice. Yes, I will only get 2G speeds for now. But where I live and work, in the Washington, DC, area, HSPA+ will migrate to 1900 MHz by January 2013.
A friend of mine advised me, "Don't get a cheap Chinese phone! You'll regret it! A smarphone is difficult to make." But I am a family man; I don't have $600 for a Samsung Note, and even a used Note, at $350 to $450, i s a lot of money. T-Mobile will have a Note with 1700 MHz and 1900 MHz for $250, but only if you accept a 2-year contract. No, thanks.
If 6 inches is too large, by mid August there will be 2, 3, or 4 phones with a 5.3-inch display whose resolution reaches 960 x 540. The best-known of these is the MeePad i5270.

I've seen the youtube reviews, and so far I'm liking these cheap chinese phones! Currently, my sister's and mom's phone and mine took a dumb on us! Since I am on a special plan I have to purchase phones retail price. Do you know if the N9776 is available to be rooted? And have you purchased any of these yet?
Thanks
I don't know whether the N9776 can be rooted. If it becomes popular, I am sure that someone at XDA will figure out a way.
No, I have not bought yet. I was going to get the N9776 because it's only $200 shipped and "may" have Dolby 5.1 speakers (I don't know how). But now I plan to buy the Note5 F6 because of this comment by XDA member Robarnold:
Everything works well so far -.seems much slicker and quicker than my Haipad (though no complaints about that) Although externally it is only a very little larger than the Haipd the increase in screen size is quite noticeable. It came with ICS but suppliers expect a stable JB rom soon and say they'll provide me with a link."
and, perhaps even more so, because of the F6's design details explained on the manufacturer's F6 home page.
I bliv it can be rooted , just like u mentioned, once it gains popularity, Rooting procedures will be made available

N9776 forum
There's already an N9776 forum. The brand appears to be either Dapeng or Star.
I just bought one of these phones.. and yes you can use it on Tmobile.. for safety sake make your purchase through aliexpress.com they have an escrow service that holds your funds until the seller ships the device and you confirm receipt.. if its not to your liking or it never gets sent you can request a refund and they put the cash back on your card.
Back to the phones.. most of the chinese market is built on the MTK processor The current build is the MTK6577 which is their current dual-core @ 1.2ghz the 6577 is single core @1.0ghz DO NOT purchase any phone with MTK6516 that was their first phone processor and is slow as **** on android.. 6575, 6577 and the 6589 (quad-core) due out this december.. make sure the phone has at minimum a 4GB rom because the OS plus the MTK support software will take up half of the internal memory.. I bought a 7" phone tablet (search for A70 mtk6573) and it was decent for a full tablet with calling ability (rare back then) but it 0nly had a 1gb rom ( I learned though) and its okay its just that all programs have to be installed to SD card. Most of the suppliers will root the phones for you too.. Good luck!! I have 3 of them coming monday ..PS.. always choose DHL shipping 3 days from china to your door.. EMS and china post take FOREVER (up to 21 days) and sometimes lose the parcel. its totally worth the extra 25 bucks!!!
Chinese 6-inch phones: CarPad F6, N9776, and N9880
Great tips, Vinski. I just bought a Star N9880 from Fastcardtech.com and arranged for it to be sent by EMS, which the seller strongly recommends. EMS was at least $15 cheaper than DHL. Here's hoping all goes well. With a spare battery, a case, protective film, and a 4.5 percent Paypal fee (yes, I had to pay it), my total came to about U.S. $275
I had been leaning toward two alternative 6-inchers: The Carpad Note5 F6 and the (Star?) N9776. The Carpad is a class act of design and manufacture; at 256 grams, it's also the heaviest by a good 2 ounces. But in 6577 trim, it would have cost $35 more than the comparably spec'd N9880. More to the point, the F6's designer/developer, "Kay send" (as he's called in the Google translation of the Note5 F6 forum), is continually improving the model (better battery, free second-color back) and hinting at successors. I would have felt like a chump paying a premium for a phone that would soon be eclipsed. The forum members are clamoring for a 6577 version with an IPS display and 960 x 540 resolution, or an MTK6588 version in January with IPS and 1280 x 720. I haven't owned a phone in more than 3 years, and I'm tired of waiting.
Most N9880s come with a slim flip case; that's a plus, since the phone-case aftermarket hasn't caught up with the size of these jumbo phones. In truth, I tried to order an iron-colored N9776 at Rollmid.com. But PayPal reported something like "This seller cannot currently accept payments," and my purchase was automatically canceled. I then almost ordered it from Alibaba for the same price. But on Alibaba it was offered only in white and I saw no way to order the "optional" case. (The case was listed nowhere on rollmid, either.)
N9880s are starting to appear on eBay. But they all use the older, MTK6575 CPU and have only 260,000 colors. The N9776, with 16 million colors, a shorter length, a narrower width, and Dolby 5.1 speakers (don't ask me how), handily beats them. Nearly all of Alibaba's 9880s likewise use the older CPU and claim to have only 260,000 colors.
The 9880 sold by Fastcardtech can't match the N9776's smaller area, but it does match its internal specs: 6577 1.2 GHz CPU, 16 million colors, largish battery (2800). In fact, it has two features the N9776 doesn't: Bluetooth 2.1 (vs. 2.0) and a lithium-polymer battery (vs. lithium-ion). So I bought it. I dunno whether the brand is Dapeng, Star, Telsda, or Viewsonic. When I receive it, I'll report what I find in this thread. I'm hoping the claimed 1GB of RAM is for real.
My only reservation about this model is that, unlike the N9776 and the F6, it currently has no enthusiast forum. But maybe the three phones, and the lesser Dapeng i9800 / Star i9800, are all similar enough that ROM tricks and OS updates will work for all of them.
N9880 with MTK6577
Hmmm. FastTech just dropped the price of their high-end N9880 from $234 to $212. I wonder whether they'll credit me the difference. Next to the price, it says, "in stock; ships in 1-3 working days." But in a response to a comment posted today, the company says that it's not yet in stock. A delay no longer than a week or so would be worth it if it means the phone would then come with Android 4.1.
4g working?
Does the 4g or 3g actually work in North America? I had bought a Gooapple V5 3G but the 3G never worked in North America because of the band it operated on. It does however work in the UK and Europe which is what I wanted.
The 4G and 3G on these phones won't work on 3G networks that use CDMA (Verizon, Sprint), 3G networks that use HSPA+ on 1700 MHz, or 4G networks that use LTE (Verizon, AT&T). But they should work on 3G networks that use HSPA+ at 1900 MHz (AT&T, and increasingly, T-Mobile).
Hi Paul,
Can you confirm the CPU (1.2 GHz, dual-core), the RAM (1GB), the screen quality (IPS? wide-viewing angle, 1.6M colors) and camera (8MP) when you receive the device please?
Seeing different specs on sites regarding cores, RAM, 356K vs 1.6M colors and camera (5 vs 8 MP).
Thanks!
I'm planning on getting this to use on the T-mobile network.

You bet I will, webdoctors. I'm guessing my N9880 will arrive shortly before September. I, too, will be using my phone on T-Mobile.
I completely agree that some of the specs are suspect. Here are the N9880 specs that may be worse than we have led to believe:
- 1GB RAM (will probably be 512MB)
- 16 million colors (may be 260K, like the display on the MTK6575 variants)
- IPS (never claimed, but we all inferred this from "16 million colors"
At the same time, here are specs that may turn out to be BETTER than we had thought:
- Android: Spec says 4.0, but today I saw an N9880 screen shot or video somewhere that definitely said 4.1, with a ROM or installation dated July 30.
- Cameras: Spec says 0.3 / 5.0MP, but I've started to see claims of 2MP / 8 MP.
- Bluetooth: Spec says 2.0 but I'm also seeing 2.1.
- Battery: Spec used to say lithium-ion but now says lithium-polymer.
It seems to me that if you want to be sure of getting a 6-inch phone with the best specs, you go with the N9776 or Carpad Note5 F6. If you want to be sure of getting the lowest specs, get an i9800 or N9880 with an MTK6575. If you want to spin the wheel and take your chances, go for the N9880 MTK6577.

To appreciate the size of these phablets, here's the N9880 beneath an iPhone 4. I explain to people that on a 6-inch phone, the glass is about the same size and shape as a 3 by 5-inch index card.

Soon there will be a handful of sixes:
1. Note5 F6
2. i9080
3. N9776
4. N9880
5. HiLive [awaiting name]
It was announced 2012-08-04.
EMS from China to the USA should be quite fast. From previous experience buying stuff from Taiwan/Japan, EMS is less than 4 days door-to-door.

did anyone see the iHTC One X posted at fastcardtech? Is it legit?
Its advertised as having a 4.7 inch IPS screen, 960*540 pixel, 1 GB RAM, dual core 1.2 GHz, and under $200 (199).
Too good to be true? I don't see the model posted at any other stores, so not sure if the specs arae a typo. Not sure of iHTC build quality, it could be some fake company trying to create poor HTC knockoffs rather than their own brand/quality control.
The quality gap between 'cheap Chinese phones/clones' has narrowed
Has significantly narrowed due to the evolution of the wireless chip sets: Microtek has come more up to the 'phone kit' packaged design that Qualcomm has traditionally offered the market. MTK provides the device manufacturers with increasingly inclusive kit designs through their network of suppliers of moldings, software, supplementary circuit components etc. The device suppliers job becomes more of selecting among the suppliers and doing final development and assembly operations. As many experience, the added refinement from the Chinese suppliers often is not much: many simply take the designs and burn the ROMs packaged up with Android software... rushing the products out even while some things do not work or do not work well. That is why GPS, WiFi, motion sensors may not work well until upgrade ROMs are available.. they hack the products to get them to the market in time to meet the window of market demand. XDA and other groups then serve as the talented group of folks that put together the fixes while the Chinese suppliers move on to the next product. That is what happened with many of the MTK 6575 devices. Those are more mature.. the stuff like GPS and WiFi now works and the devices can load up many apps and run most any software on par with expensive name brand devices costing 2-3 times more. Samsung. Apple, HTC maintain a leading edge in interface camera and video, software and hardware refinements that make the clones look second class in comparison but the gap has closed compared to where it was just a year ago.
The next step up for the Chinese suppliers will be improved screen resolution and more refined hardware... for them to stop using their customers as unwitting guinea pigs for pushing out half-baked products on the market. The first MTK 6577 products will be interesting to look at: will this prove to be similar to MTK6575 in which the YouTube videos look impressive but once you get it in your hand, some will find the Wi-Fi reception is weak, the sensors do not work or only work with some programs and not others due to incompatibilities between the ROM and Android or whatever?
Thus far, the MTK6577 products are still in the experimental entry into the market stage where the early adopters serve as guinea pigs to test out what works and what doesn't and for the many experts here to contribute their great skills to fixing the problems that will almost certainly be found.. and adding refinements that the rest of the market never gets or must wait for the operator upgrades.
I am very interested in the new 6 inch 'Phablet'/'car pad' devices - but will likely wait until others report how well they work and that there is a support group that is interested in supporting the ROM upgrades, etc. beforehand. I would like to see higher resolution 6"-7" models which would more aptly serve needs for both a tablet and a SmartPhone.. the 'one device' solution for personal and road use. qHD to HD quality screen with a mini HDMI output would be hot imo.
N9776 - Where to buy?
The N9776 looks like the best of the 6 inch phones to me. Does anyone know a reputable place to buy it from? The only place I can see that sells it is Aliexpress and none of the sellers that are offering it there fill me with confidence.

IMHO, I think CarPad note5 F6 is better than N9776. It has 8MP real camera and 2MP front camera. And they have their own forum for support of ROM update or custom ROM, although it is in Chinese. However, if you can wait, you may want to wait for 6-inch 540x960 resolution version, as I think 400x854 is still not good enough.

I plan to buy it as well, for the cheap price.
According to gizchina, it is supposed to be sold at 240$. But where do we find a retailer that sells at that price?
I mean they always sell them at least 30% more than the original price.

240$ for 1080p screen, 2gb ram, 32gb internal memory its not really realistic.
if you find it under or even at 350$ it would be a really good deal.

http://www.chinapadmall.com sells it for $292 - $5 (kld320sd code, expires 2/17) brings it down to $288 shipped.
But there's also leaked pics of Ou Sheng (Iocean) X7 with similar specs & a lower price.
http://www.gizchina.com/2013/02/17/umi-x2-vs-sheng-x7/
One remaining question is how will the MT6589 handle 1920x1080p resolutions. I've heard some say the FHD screens are slow, but they were with older dualcore MT6577 chips.
Don't order this phone, wait for confirmations on forum or buyers about phone can be rooted or not
I'm dissapointed with conclusion android 4.1 yellybean (also not know which exactly version installed...) will be hard or imposible to root.
in another word, with chinies sms spam on unrooted phone we will go under and patch

certainly it wont be as fast as the mp4 version in the latest ipad or adreno 330 from snapdragon 4/800 or other flagships but for a phone that cost less than three hundred bucks what do you can ask for?

From my research lately, the MT6589 is Quadcore, 1.2 Ghz, with SGX 544 GPU, slightly slower than Qualcomm's quadcores, but better value for the money. The MT6589 SoC usually comes together in a package regarding the CPU & GPU. The other specs that are less solid are dimension for each phone, what size & resolution of screens and included RAM/ROM. And exact Android version 4.1.1/4.1.2/4.2.1/4.2.2. They can all change still until people receive units and post reviews.
hm.....other solutions are:

1080p screen with a 6589? I'm guessing same performance than those 6577 phones with 720p struggling to play any new games.
Just stick with 720, most apps are designed for qHD anyway

Cubot X6, Cheapest 8-Core Smartphone: Less Vibrant, but Agiler

The good: Cubot X6 well interprets why MTK6592 is better than previous generations of MTK chipsets, with decent backing to smooth operation and fast gaming. Pure Android 4.2.2 and Google Play Store are pre-installed.
The bad: The camera has low resolution and low contrast. No LTE.
Bottom line: Cubot X6 is what a mobile phone with MTK6592 should be, faster, and no more.
I didn’t expect Octa-core Chinese phones would be marked down so sharp so soon. At first Zopo ZP998 and THL T100s came out as USD300 stuff; then some USD350 and USD 250 ones with MTK6592 sprung up in the meantime; and now Cubot X6 hit the bottom with a price of USD190.
The X6 has a lower display resolution of 1280x720 pixels compared with Zopo and THL 8-core products, both of which are equipped with a 1080P full HD screen. Besides, Cubot X6’s 13MP camera takes worse-than-mediocre photos. The two degradations contribute to a price gap of more than USD110.
But with the same chipset, the X6 doesn’t have to deal with 2 million pixel points (1920x1080) in every switch of image. Instead, it only fills in 900 thousand pixels (1280x720) each time, so it’s reasonable that the Cubot handset is faster.
Anyway, less than USD200 is a price people can accept for a lesser known brand.
1.Design:
Cubot X6’s look reminds me of the elapsed SonyEricsson design by first sight. Its front side is generally a retangle with top and bottom edges slightly curved outside, sighter than SonyEricsson; Its protective glass curves into the bottom lip; and its back cover also curves into the left and right edges like the Xperia Arc S does.
The X6’s rear side adopts an HTC One-style matte finish, which delivers a premium feel. By the way, Cubot’s last knockout Cubot One was almost a counterfeit of HTC One.
The new Cubot handset does have something different, such as its aluminum-rounded swelling back camera and gilded earpiece mouth. These features, though not ridiculous, are not very inspiring, either.
The real clever part of Cubot X6 is that the two lips and the back cover are joined to replace the top and bottom edges. This design, plus the “arc s”, make the phone look quite thin. Besides, the X6 has no redundant physical buttons except the volume rocker and power key.
Between the edges and protective glass, the seams are a little bit wide for dust, an evidence of mediocre-end craftsmanship.
2. Display:
A 5-inch IPS display of 1280 by 70 pixels shouldn’t be bad. The X6’s pixel density, namely 294 PPI, is not as high as 401 of Zopo ZP998 or THL T100s, so its color is not that astonishing as a consequence. However, you never see granules or mosaic from the operational interface or HD images with the Cubot handset’s display. Only if the screen was edge-to-edge, the whole phone would be more compact and neat.
I don’t have any complaint about the X6’s 720P display, which, in addition, comforts my eyes with mild contrast.
3. Performance:
I’m not going to talk about the 8-core MTK6592 CPU or Mali-450 GPU, as you may all know that they are the strongest powerhouse available on cheap Chinese phones presently. If a manufacturer just wants to forge a “faster” phone out of the chipset, it’s easy.
Not as greedy as THL or Zopo, Cubot made it.
Switch between home screens, app trays, widget layouts, and photos are very smooth; open and close of apps are twice as faster as on Zopo ZP998; and hiccups or after-image is seldom seen.
As usual, I tried Temple Run Oz and NFS: Most Wanted to test the phone’s processing ability, as the two HD games never worked perfect on second-tier Chinese phones, including the Octa-core Zopo ZP998 and THL T100s.
The Cubot new monster surprised me in the pleasant way, finally. Skip of frames almost disappeared in both games, and most importantly, I felt my heartbeat at the speed of the runner and cars as I had felt on some brand name handsets. You can go to the video to see if I was right.
.
The X6 even outperformed Samsung Galaxy S4 by the astonishing score of 27706. I don’t know why Chinese-brand phones always notched high scores on Antutu, given that Xiaomi MI3 and TCL Idol X+ are among the best of best, too. Maybe Antutu should open a special section for Chinese phones. But Anyway, Cubot X6 also outscored Zopo ZP998 by 1,000 points (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50195346#post50195346).
4. Camera:
Camera is the least part I want to mention, because the alleged 13MP back camera hardly record details and the color is pretty lifeless.
5. Battery life:
I’ve lived with the phone for about 4 days. Though once-a-day charge is still needed, this phone gives me more confidence that I don’t need to charge it twice a day.
If you don’t expect using the X6 to play NFS all day, the 2200mAh battery is enough for you.
6. Others:
Cubot X6 is not equipped with gesture sensor or NFC module, which, I think, are useless. MTK6592 itself is not compatible with the LTE network, so it’s natural that the X6 cannot be used for 4G. According to latest news, MediaTek has released an LTE-compatible 8-core chipset named MTK6595.
7.Conclusion:
Cubot X6 is cheaper than any other MTK6592-powered smartphone available on the market, at the expense of stunning visual effects, fashionable functions, and even passable imaging system. The producer didn’t expect too much from the chipset, so it shows us what a 8-core CPU should be like through the phone. And now there is is something 40 US dollars cheaper, but not worse in quality, have a look at my review on Mijue M10: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2647933&page=7
Antutu scores are misleading since it scales across multicores and you have eight of them, but in reality its the performance per core which matters most and these are simply A7 cores no match to the krait cores
But we need GFX benchmark please

the GPU is really interesting
Mali 450 MP, which means its multicore since it has "MP" in the title but how many sadly they don't tell, still i think its a good match for 720p
but we can only tell for sure is from GFX and then compare it to Adreno 320 and 330
(the games you tested are non demanding)

Not for real flagship phones. But NFS Most Wanted is really hard for most lesser known Chinese phones.
MediaTek itself claimed MTK6592 has 70% the capability of Snapdragon 800, and many people says it works abreast with 600.

CPU is one thing, GPU is another matter completely
Adreno 320 on s600 has no problem running most games in 1080p smoothly
so MTK is making a wild claim there

I screenshot all the applicable scores. Have a look. I never used GFX so not very clear what all these mean, but i feel it is far more reliable than Antutu. As for the numer of GPU cores, it's 4 .
Gold thank you my friend @mohammad ahamad
your device is almost as good as the HTC One in gaming since the onscreen 720p score matches the 1080p score of the Adreno 320
keep in mind Adreno 320 is capable of ES3.0 unlike the Mali450GPU but its still its an awesome affordable beast, like i said it looks very good at 720p
it will be slaughtered at 1080p though

Sorry, the phone is not on my hand any more. I'm an fan of Chinese phones and tablets and have friends selling such gadgets. I play and test them but don't buy them. To be frank, battery life is the most hard-to-test part, because there are too many factors affecting it.
I just feel Cubot X6's battery is not annoying, but if you keep the display on all day long, i don't think it can last more than 5 hours, not to say if you play some heavy games. I myself use iPhone 5 and i bring a mobile power bank when i'm going to use it regularly.
Very nice phone! Im going to get this beast for the price

Cube loves to make tablets with phone functions, and pumps them out in sizes and price points to suit almost anyone.
The all new mid-size model, the Talk 8X OCTA, sports a power-efficient octa-core processor paired with an 8-inch display and a moderate $84 suggested retail price. How does it stack up against similarly-sized rivals? We will take a look.
Before we begin, a note: Cube, unfortunately, has a habit of re-using the names of its tablets, just as a lot of China-based manufacturers do these days. That makes it easy for customers to accidentally buy an older model while thinking they’re getting a good deal on the latest and greatest. The Cube Talk 8X OCTA we’re discussing today is an upgraded version of the Talk 8, and its model name is U27GT C8, rather than U27GT-3G, which is the model name of the older Talk 8. Before you make a purchase, please make sure to check that that’s the one you’re getting.
Cube Talk 8X main specs:
OS: Android 4.4.4
Display: 8-inch IPS, 5-point multi-touch, P+G
Screen Resolution: 1280 x 800 (16:10)
CPU: MediaTek MT8392 Octa-core CPU
CPU Frequency: 1.66 GHz
GPU: ARM Mali-450MP4
RAM / Storage: 1GB / 8GB
Functions: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G, Phone, GPS, A-GPS, OTG, Miracast, FM Radio
GSM: band2, band3, band5, band8
WCDMA: band1, band5
WiFi: 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot
Camera: 2MP back camera, VGA front camera
Battery: 4,900mAh
Ports: SIM Card Slot, Micro SD Card Slot, Micro USB Port, 3.5mm Headphone Jack
Size: 213.3*128.8*9.2mm
Design and build
If you've used either the Talk 7X or the older Talk 8, the basic layouts of the Talk 8X should be very recognizable. And that's mostly a good thing. With rounded edges and a plastic rear, the slate is pretty easy to hold.
You'll find a Micro USB port and a headphone jack on the top, a Micro SD card slot on and a Micro SIM card slot on the back towards the top side. Cube has changed the positions of the hardware controls, the power/standby key and the volume rocker, which used to be put on the right side, are now hosted on the top edge. I personally hate this new arrangement, as it becomes more difficult for our fingers to reach those buttons while we’re using the slate in portrait mode.
There's little on the front bezel besides the VGA front-facing camera, as well as an earpiece. On the back, you'll spot a 2MP rear camera above, and a speaker below (portrait mode).
The slate measures 9.2mm thick, and is obviously much porkier than the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, which measures 7.2mm in terms of body depth. Fortunately, although the Talk 8X OCTA has a bigger bezel, it still keeps the overall footprint smaller than the Tab Pro 8.4, thanks to the relatively smaller screen size.
For me, Cube is simply recycling its hardware when it comes to Talk 8X OCTA’s design. There’s nothing we haven’t seen before besides the new button layout, and the Talk 8X is a cheap tablet which also looks cheap.
Display and sound
The Talk 8X OCTA sports an 8-inch IPS LCD panel at the resolution of 1280*800px. The display isn’t particularly sharp or crisp, but it is reasonably attractive for the price you're paying. It delivers rich colors that aren't overdone, and you only really lose brightness when you look at them from sharp angles.
The brightness of the display is also quite good, as it is easily visible outdoors, as long as you don’t face the display to direct mid-day sunlight.
It isn’t as vivid, clear, bright or glare-proof as the Super PLS panel used on the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, but it is a pretty decent offering for an entry-level tablet which costs less than $100.
Cube’s tablets are known for the great built-in AAC speakers, unfortunately, the Talk 8X OCTA is an exception. The rear-facing speaker on the 8X OCTA is pretty bad, even the speaker of the $50 Cube U25GT produces louder, fuller output.
I was eager to plug in my Monster headphone whenever the Talk 8X OCTA’s built-in speaker made a sound. With the external audio system connected, the 8X OCTA’s audio performance is pretty acceptable, pretty much in the same class of the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, although not as great as my Hi-Fi enabled LG G2 smartphone.
Software
If you've ever used a Cube tablet or read our review of the Cube tablets, you'll know what to expect software-wise. The Talk 8X is running the stock Android interface -- it's simple, smooth and responsive.
There isn't an avalanche of preloaded software, either. You will have a whole set of Google apps, and some of the applications every Chinese needs to use, fortunately, you can easily uninstall those Chinese apps without the need to root your device beforehand.
Another thing worth a note is that the Talk 8X OCTA, like the more premium T7 and T9, supports OTA firmware upgrade.
Performance
Don't expect to see a performance which will beat high-end offerings such as the T7 and Nexus 9. But it's not shocking that they can outpace Cube' own Talk 8, a one-year-old device using an even older processor. It also fares well against the Google Nexus 7, and even the premium Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 – which is labored by its own 2560*1600 number of pixels.
The numbers translate well to the real world. The MediaTek chip doesn't break a sweat while navigating through the interface, and it's equally adept at both web browsing and video playback.
The Mali T450MP4 GPU is a capable if unimpressive chip for gaming. Crazy Cars ran at a very playable frame rate, but never came anywhere near the 60fps smoothness I look for and have only seen rarely in tablets. Other less demanding games like Riptide and Zombie Wood, however, look beautiful thanks to the screen's large color palette.
Connectivity
The Talk 8X OCTA belongs to Cube’s most popular Talk series, which means it is another tablet with full phone functionalities. Cellular network support, SMS, voice call functions, Bluetooth and GPS are all onboard to make the slate a capable substitute if your smartphone runs out of juice.
Things are working as designed here. The tablet can establish a pretty stable cellular connection for phone calls and short messages. Unlike the T7, the Talk 8X OCTA only supports GSM/WCDMA networks, so you will have to find out what kind of mobile service you have subscribed before you make a purchase. Bluetooth and GPS work well, too.
The 8GB built-in storage is clearly too small for the majority of users, luckily a Micro SD card slot which supports cards up to 32GB is on board. If that’s still not enough, the tablet also supports USB on the go.
Battery Life
You’ll find a 4,900mAh embedded Lithium-Ion battery inside the Cube Talk 8X OCTA, which is more capacity than the battery inside of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4. According to Cube, this battery will provide more than 21 hours’ music play time, or over 5 hours’ video play time.
In an attempt to quantitatively measure the 8X OCTA's battery life in a controlled benchmark environment, we ran the AnTuTu Battery Test which is available from the Google Play Store. For this test, we set the slate's display to 100% brightness, which is still plenty bright and easy on the eyes. The Talk 8X OCTA scored 5013, which is average among Android devices.
And in our standard cngadget video looping battery test, the 8X OCTA’s 6 hours and 23 minutes test result also ranks in the middle of the mid-sized tablets.
During our real-world testing, the Talk 8X OCTA had no problem making it through a few days while checking emails, surfing the web, taking pictures, leaving the screen on for 30+ minutes while the tablet sits idle, and playing a few games. We would expect an average user should have no problem making it through an entire day with moderate use as well. Of course, battery life will vary depending on how the tablet is used.
Cameras
I would have been pleased if Cube had just skipped the rear camera instead of giving us what they did. The 2MP camera on the back of the Talk 8X OCTA is a fixed focus lens on a tiny sensor that can't seem to take a good picture under any circumstances. I can't scan receipts into Expensify, I can't read barcodes without multiple tries, and any pictures will turn out soft, grainy and poorly. The front facing camera is fine for a low-bandwidth hangout, but it's not the camera you'll want to use to try and catch a mate with a selfie. It's exactly what you would expect from a budget device when it comes to camera hardware.
Surprisingly, the software includes shooting modes like Panorama and HDR, but this is likely because it was easier to leave it in the stock Android camera app than to spend time and money to take it out.
If you've an emergency where you have to take a picture and all you have is the Talk 8X OCTA, it would probably be good enough for traffic court or blurry-cam paranormal shots, but don't buy the Talk 8X OCTA for its camera.
Some final thoughts
If you stumbled here from a Google search, and just want a good, cheap tablet with phone functions, the Talk 8X OCTA is probably a good buy. The screen is a little iffy for reading, the cameras are pretty poor, and the speaker is tinny and doesn't offer much in the volume department. For the most part, though, the slate works well and you'll like the price. The extremely solid way it's built — can you tell it impressed me? — is icing on the cake.
If you're an Android enthusiast with more budget, though, you have other options you should consider. The LG G Pad 8.3 or the Cube T7, for a bit more money you'll get a much better screen and a more future-proof set of internals.
Should you consider all things and still go with the Talk 8X OCTA, you'll have a solid, but middle-of-the-road device that's a perfect coffee-table tablet for a quick peek at the Internet while watching a movie, or for watching the movie itself.

Do you recommend installation of 'pure performance x' ?
After installation of cwm recovery of course.
Anyway, tablet is very smooth with it's stock rom.
I have another problem.
Put 8gb micro SD card. Card is visible, but i cant install anything on the card. On the STORAGE option i choosed default write disk as "SD card".
I see on the bottom the right capacity of SD card 8gb. Card is fine.
The only place i can install apps is internal storage or USB disk (internal SD card).
Cant even move apps to external sd card i put in.
Dont know why. Do you have the same issue? Maybe you know how to fix it?
I want all applications to be installed on external micro SD card.
HELP PLEASE
Hi,
I have same problem with installing to the SD card.
1. Changing in menu - storage: don't work
