I've got newest driver on my computer, and last nightly on my tab. On debbuging mode, computer conects to Tab, so on hardware level everything should be ok. I'm just unable to connect it normally, tab just play signal of pluging-in cable, but isn't charging, and as I said don't show connection notification.

the notification shows in status bar on me. shows usb debugging, click to deactivate.
maybe clean flash will fix yours.

Okay the solution is very simple <facepalm>
In settings > Storage > USB connection
None of the options had been chosen. I had to select one of them, and now it works normally.
Thanks for help.

Can't access USB mass storage on my PC

So I can't connect my Droid RAZR to my windows 7 machine...
I have tried a lot of things!
I've tried:
*Different computers including Vista and Linux
*Different cables
*Different fastboot files
*Re-installing drivers
*Factory reset
*PIM sync from the market etc.
What happens when I plug my phone into my PC is the computer recognizes it, it makes a sound, then it says Unknown Device connected or some times it says USB malfunctioned and then on my lockscreen it says the phone is charging but it doesn't show on my battery icon.
Whats also interesting is if I got into Fastboot mode and connect to my computer it says USB connected and then I can use it in RSD with no problems.
I'm on ICS with no root.
Please help!

Try turning on USB Debugging (if you haven't), under Settings > Applications > Development.

With the phone plugged in, have you tried opening up the lockscreen so you can get to your phone? Please take a screenshot of the device manager settings.
Computer Management -> Device Manager -> Find the device (double click on it) -> Details -> Hardware Ids
Or you can write out what the hardware ID is. Thanks.
YOu said you also tried it in linux. please post the output from lsusb for any unknown devices

I am also having a similar issue with the pc not recognizing the phone. I never had an issue with this problem. I have only rooted my phone with no custom room. I have always connected my phone to the pc and was giving a connection screen on my phone asking me if i want to connect as a mass media storage. A week ago this behavior stopped. I don't know what to do anymore. I don't remember doing anything to the phone to mess up the setting? I connected it to several computers using different micro usb data cables and nothing occurs.
The only thing happens is my phone receives a charge from the computer and thats it. Any ideas? Is there anyway i can reset the system or what not?

me also facing same problem and already i turned on USB Debugging mode but nothing happened. still i can't connect USB mass storage of my android device
Hey guys what you should try to do is use this :
after pluggin in your devices and removing their current driver in device manager(control panel>admin tools>computer management>device manager>
and then install this
http://adbdriver.com/upload/AdbDriverInstaller.exe
also make sure you adb debugging is enabled (if it's not visible(setttings>about/info>build number tap it multiple times) usually its settings>dev options>usb debugging.
also maybe try using this software as pc suite myphonexplorer
Can you guys go to the storage menu in settings, press the menu key, select USB connection mode (or something like that) and play around with the settings in there? Try that out.

USB connection problem, connection type screen does not appear

When i'm connecting my phone via usb, choose a connection type screen does not appear and i cant select the "disk drive" or "charge only" options. When i tap to change usb settings, it sends me to "portable hotspot & tethering"
Windows recognizes usb device
Phone is stock, some days ago updated to android 4.1
Try disabling usb debugging. On my Blade I have to do that if I want to mount it as usb storage.
My S and tablets doesnt need that though, but might be worth a shot.
Hmm interesting my phone turns usb debugging automaticaly on when i connect my device, tried hard reset, problem still remains
I see. I read about someone else having the same issue on JB. I guess its a bug or something.
I guess you either have to flash a custom rom or wait for an official update.
In the mean time, you could always use quick adb pusher. Much better than mounted usb storage (requires a working adb connection, which you should have if you have installed htc sync)

what is the solution to turn on usb to MTP.
give your phone a restart, first and foremost. you may need to go into your settings and tap the build number the subsequent number of times to enable developer mode, and make sure that USB debugging is selected. are you on Windows 8 or Windows 10? i know that there have been some issues with Windows 10 users connecting their external media/phones/disk drives and having them able to be read. but the following is what I was able to do to get my phone recognized on Windows 10.

photo thumbnails - windows 7?

Hey guys, for some time now no computer will display my photos thumbnails. Kind of annoying when trying to pick and choose which photos to pull off the phone.
Tried making sure thumbnail view is selected in windows.
Tried PTP and MPT mode.
Whats odd is the old photos will still display thumbnails but the new photos (last half or so) will not.
They display on the phone fine but through windows explorer no dice.
thanks
shameless bump..... nobody?

http://www.groovypost.com/howto/enable-disable-thumbnail-preview/
2. Settings > More > USB Utilities > Connect Storage to PC
If you're charging through USB it will tell you, "USB is connected. Remove the cable." So remove it and plug it back in again and then click the button which now says, "Turn on USB storage" then OK.
or Settings -> Wireless and network -> USB Utilities -> Connect storage to PC and connect it that way, then you'll get the icons.

Ive been through those first two links before posting, thanks tho
Im not quite understanding what your #2 option is saying. Are those settings on the phone or PC? Those sound like settings on a samsung phone with touchwiz not android itself. My only settings are MTP and PTP
this is something with the phone but its been doing it on my last two ROMs. half my pics do have thumbnails but the second later half do not.
Yes those steps should be done on your phone. I found it on other forums.
You could copy the folder on your PC then remove the unwanted pictures. No other ideas for Windows, sorry.
Me too. frustrating!

Hi,
This issue happens quite often with us and it can be solved easily. I have tried two methods which you can also give a try:
1. Go to Settings > About Device and tap on Build Number seven (7) times. This will enable Developer Options.
Then go to Settings > Developer Options and you will find USB Debugging, check that box.
2. You can even try this on your system, click the start menu, settings, devices. On the left click connected devices, remove MTP. Unplug phone and plug it back in. You will find this issue fixed.
Thanks
