Today I thought of checking the capacity of note 3 SM-N900
I played videos in multi window in mx player and stock player and minimised them and again opened in order to check if they are working in background and they were playing
I have whatsapp+, bbm, facebook messenger, facebook, telegram, kik always running in background
Then started a song
My earphone was giving mixture of 3 sounds....one was from video player ....second was from mx player and third was of music player
After all this mess I opened subway surfers normally and played without a single lag
Then thought of some more torture....I opened vice city.....although it took around 2sec more to load than usual but as it opened I was able to play without any kind of lag probs
Although then I had to shut everything as my ears started paining due to mixture of this many sounds together from all d apps running together
Today I can claim....dis is a real beast
I am attaching ss to ensure dat both the videos were of high definition

Yeah the 3gb ram really does make a HUGE difference. Curious to see how the s5 will turn out, especially since the s4 lagged so much. The only reason probably why the note 3 didn't lag was the amount of ram it has.
PS- BTW I can't wait to see which device in the future beats the note 3, so far the note 3 is still the best.

When I bought this phone, on the first day I faced a lpt of S lag and then overheating too. This was strange as I was coming from note 2 which was the smoothest phone I ever used. After an update, all the lag was gone and no overheating at all. Now my ram almost remains full still never ever faced any lag. Just love this beast.

I'm running GTA 3 v1.3 on my Note and I'm noticing some stutter. Not stutter as in low framerate, but some micro-hangs when driving around. Framerate is very good, but this stutter is not normal. My Galaxy S, while running at a much lower framerate and no audio doesn't exhibit this. It's like read speeds from the internal SD aren't high enough to stream data to the RAM, and this leads to lag. Anyone else having this?
I'm running stock LA4, stock CPU,very few apps installed. Could this be ROM related? I didn't notice this in videos of GTA3 on the Note on YouTube.
Any ideas?
Galaxy S: 800x480
Galaxy Note: 1280x800
The Note has to push A LOT more pixels than the S. GTA doesn't stutter here, but i'm running custom kernel, Franco #7 on LB1 deodexed w/ few stock apps ++.
I'm not talking about framerates. Framerates are high. This is the kind of stutter like there isn't enough RAM.
The only explanation I can give is that SD-card read rates are not high enough.
Hasn't anyone else experienced this on stock ROMs?
Please, can anyone check this on their Note? I'm running LB1 with franco-7 kernel and this is still present. Framerate is even higher now (with frame limiter off, ofcourse) due to the 400 Mhz GPU clock, but it still stutters. This didn't happen on GTA 3 v1.0 when I first tried it when it came out. It could be GTA's fault and not the phone's.
It does this no matter the graphics settings. Even on lowest resolution and view distance and everything else off...
Thanks for the help.
I haven't been playing all that much, but I definitely have had some hangups too, about 0.3-0.5 seconds long.
I assume this is GTA related problems, some caching might be done in the main thread only when certain models/textures are needed, causing the lags. I played several HD games, and others seem to be better at smooth performance.
I had the same problem initially. It would pause for a split second every once in awhile.
Inadvertently because I had just got my phone and was just testing - I had to reinstall and it seemed to run perfectly. I don't know if it's a different version/update (how do you tell?) but I believe it was GTA Anniversary Edition 1.03
Yeah mines the same hangs for a split second maybe once every half hour or something. Not a major issue, its never really bothered me with it not happening very often.

you need to uncheck something from graphic setting mate. if i remember well was lowering viewing distance or something like that... it worked for me after.give it a shot.
I have a problem where it vibrates randomly... Any ideas
No one encountered this?
Yeah, vibrates randomly for me too.
I don't know about the stutter. Don't think this is the phone. It used to run nice and now, despite the good framerate it stutters like mad. Really annoying. Or maybe the borked something in the latest update (v1.3).

Try turning vibration feedback off. Its in options>audio>vibration feedback.
I made it much smoother by unselecting the Max frame rate option I believe, I also installed chainfires 3d app so that may have also contributed.

Any particular settings for Chainfire 3D?
So i've started to really start using my tab 2 and i have started realizing that the performance leaves a lot to be desired. Specifically I'm having an issue where the screen will turn black for a second or two while playing a game. I've also noticed that some games will pause for no reason. These games include shadowgun, elemental, and tower defense. It's kind of irritating. I'll get an occasional freeze followed by a crash.
Any ideas? The processor isn't a power house but it can't be THAT bad. I can't wait to be able to overclock this thing..
I have seen this happen to my Galaxy Tab 2 (7) every once in a while. What I have noticed using the app "Watchdog" is that there is a system process (I am at work so cannot access/remember it) that every once in a while chews up 40-60% of the processors juice(Could be a TouchWiz process... i wouldn't know) ... This thing should fly once we have it rooted and once we have our devs clean it up and get some cleaner roms out
Hang in there mate... Good times are about to come

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. I've discovered it happens during when I'm watching movies from my sd card as well. The screen goes blank, and you see the "busy" swirling circle thing that means its "busy" and then the movie comes back. It's not as irritating as the pausing during a game because the movie just continues where it left off.
Can't wait for a touchwiz free version..
Custom Roms would come a lot quicker if we had a section on here for Tab 2 7.0's Any mods out there wanna help with that?
i do have the same problem when dealing with draw something...it lags for a while at first, but it just runs smoothly after...just bear to wair for 5-10 seconds in front
i found lot of apps which has a compability issue
i guess the chipset dual core ti omap was a new chip
so it get lot of lagging freezzing and also tilt compability with the old apps games
I have the sync up to my note 3 (very cool) , but the keyboard wont pop up... Also the tablet feel laggy, more so than my note 3.... I turned development mode on and turned off transitions... any suggestions?
It really shouldn't lag. Have you tried a factory reset? Usually the best option when you have these issues.

You know others are having this lag problem also. I'm wondering if the tablet is downloading updates and causing the lag. Look in the upper left corner and see if the little down arrow is moving up and down. If so then your tablet is downloading something in the background. When my tablet is doing that then my streaming vids are jerky. That could be the perceived lag that you may be experiencing.
I have had my Verizon S6 for a little over two weeks now. In general I like it, but I've noticed it seems to overheat easily. A repeatable scenario is while playing Olaf's Adventures (Don't judge me!) for about 10 minutes I'll get the "Cooling Down" warning. I won't have anything else running in the background. I tends to happen the fastest when I'm playing that and doing multiple things in the game at the same time (have Olaf run around & interact with his world at the same time).
To those of you who have a S6 could you download this free game and see if your phones overheat as well? I'm wondering if it's just my phone, or if all the S6s are that way.
Thanks!
I personally never had the overheat issue while playing graphic intensive games, such as WoT and Modern Combat 5. I think it's the issue with the app, not the phone itself.
Yes it gets really hot after playing for 7-8 minutes . But didn't show any warning . I think it's just an app issue.
I'll check out Modern Combat 5 and WoT and see what happens there. I also noticed it happened with Google Cardboard.
I downloaded and tried Modern Combat 5 and watched the temps with CPUz. It didn't seem to get above 61c, so either it isn't as demanding, or like you said Olaf's Adventures is poorly written. It worries me that Google Cardboard also caused overheating though. Does anyone else have heating issues with Google Cardboard? Again it could be the apps fault. I believe it was some VR theater that caused the overheating.
Got a brand new Galaxy S7 from AT&T a few days ago - everything is very fast as expected except one thing... games.
Noticed it first in Candy Crush Jelly - sometimes things will "freeze" like a lag spike hits them. When I move something in the game, the screen animation doesn't do anything at first then will catch up a second later.
Verified it by testing a few other games (Sonic Dash, Rayman Adventures) - there are definite hiccups among animations from time to time. It isn't TOO obvious but it's there.
I have tried disabling all the Samsung Game services and Game Launcher - doesn't solve it. Also tried using Google Now launcher but there is quite a bit of free RAM no matter the launcher in use so not sure that's it either.
I switched from iPhone where this wasn't an issue so it's fairly noticeable - is it normal or is this something I can fix?
iphone in general superior than android in gaming, and S7 is the worst gaming device i ever seen, sammy screwed up with 6.0.1 in that regard, Note 5 is light years faster than s7 with android 5.1.1, but with 6.0.1 it suffers the same freezes.
There is no solution atm, not all games effected but a lot, at least all i tested.
