Well, I just received my LG G Pro 2 (D838) and it has Android 4.4.2 inside.
Somehow, I couldn't save the file which generated by 3rd party app into the external SD card.
I search the answer on web but the possible way to solve the problem is root the cellphone.
I am worrying that it couldn't process OTA update after I root the LG-D838
This is only disadvantage of D838 and this will be big help for me and other owners.
I am also expecting the 3rd party roms, such as AOKP or CM can be released soon^^
Can't wait to flash the phone with other roms
That is part of 4.4.2 it is on every phone... Google changed some things to not allow apps to write to external sd . according to Google app developers will have to update to new way and things will be fine.... But if you can root folder Mount in app store will fix it

Sure, I would like to root the phone and I did search the solution on the web.
Somehow, IORoot might be the solution but it's not support the LG D838 Taiwan Edition.
I tried the latest version this morning but it's not work...
May I should just wait until someone develop the proper rom for this device.

As I said you can edit platform.xml in the root of your device to allow media write or use the xposed framework module handleexternalstorage. These methods can only be done on a rooted device. Since the LG G Pro 2 is only out for a few days, wait for the proper rooting tool and procedure before doing so.

It is very much up to the maturity of the modules you are using. Simple ones like "Lock Screen clock mods" will work flawlessly, complicated ones like "GravityBox" or "Xprivacy" still have lots of bugs to iron out. Personally I would give it a few days between module installs to check for any issues.
It's pretty much perfect now except for a slight battery drain that I noticed but using greenify properly the drain also not noticeable. As said before there are problems with a few modules but all the simpler modules work flawlessly.

That is interesting. I just installed 5.1.1 on my nexus 7 and rooted it. Then when I installed xposed, it said it could not yet work on 5.1.1 because it could not write to the sdcard.
I went to the xposed website and I believe I read that the developer was still working on "stabilizing" xposed for 5.0 before working on 5.1.1. That's why I was holding off updating my nexus 5 from kitkat to 5.1.1.
Maybe I had the wrong installer. Are you saying xposed framework is working on the nexus 5 with 5.1.1? Which xposed installer did you use? Did xprivacy or gravitybox work?
Thanks.

So, what are you saying? This is an alpha version which would be scary to use for a regular user.
Is it supposed to work in 5.1.1?
(search only helps if you know enough to know what to search for)

Honest feedback: read more, post less. You are worried about the wrong things.
@Anderson2: To give you a less childish response, the available alpha version linked to earlier has been stable for me on a Nexus 5 with stock 5.1.1. I'm only using GravityBox, SwypeTweaks, and Advanced Power Menu, but those have been working fine.
I don't know if this applies to other devices, but with the Nexus 5 there are only certain versions of TWRP recovery that work for installing Xposed. For example, 2.8.6.1 works, 2.8.6.0 doesn't, but there are some earlier versions that do work.

Thank you CSX321. At last a helpful answer. Thanks for the tips. You may have given me some important clues. I'll check to see if my TWRP is 2.8.6.1 or not. I'll also check to see if I have the correct alpha version. I only need xposed for 2 modules: xprivacy and gravitybox.
I'm sticking to kitkat on my nexus 5 until I'm sure I can get xposed working on the n7. So I'm doing my testing on my nexus 7 and boy am I glad I did that!
I appreciate your taking the time to write and help.

Thank you again CSX321. my TWRP was 2.8.6.0, not 2.8.6.1. I checked and it is the latest available version for flo (nexus 7 2013 wifi). That's why xposed would no install. I'll just have to wait some more.
I asked in this forum because I couldn't find an appropriate thread in the nexus 7 2013 forum. Now I know why.
Thanks for the help.
OK. I had the wrong xposed zip.
For others who also had trouble, on the nexus 7 2013:
TWRP 2.8.6.0 is not the problem. It works. I had the wrong xposed file.
*The one that worked is xposed-sdk22-arm-20150609.zip

Here is the link to the official xposed thread and from there I downloaded XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk and xposed-v75-sdk22-arm.zip. Hope it doesn't get into bootloop after installing some modules.

Question: I have a Moto G 3rd generation and would like to install the xPosed Framework on it but do not know which framework to use, as:
The phone came with Lollipop but has since been updated to Marshmallow, so would I use the original or latter framework?
The processor is ARMv7 Processor rev 0 (v71), and when I look at the list of processors I don't see any for v71; they start with v72 and go up.
Someone on this thread said to use v75; would that be ok?
My phone is rooted and I of course have a backup but don't want to pick the wrong file etc.
Thanks in advance,
MrSicily
I didn't see a dedicated thread for the awe-inspiring Xposed module on this forum, so I'd figure I'd start one so that folks using the Moto X can discuss it here rather than mixing our devices with others on the Xposed discussion thread.

Here's the link for gravity box:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3037566
there appears to be a few different variations:
- ARM
- ARM64
- x86
I'm guessing that our device is ARM as opposed to ARM64, as I do not see a lib64 in my system directory?
I have not installed it yet, as I'm still on the NeXus ROM (which already has the options I desire to modify the framework. But now I'll go try AOSP with Xposed to see the difference.
I'm running the official release, can confirm our device runs the regular ARM version (sdk22 for Lollipop 5.1 users).

In simple terms, can you guys tell me why an apk from One Plus wouldn't install on my Samsung phone? And is there a work-around to fix this issue?

Some apk requires firmware related features. Some needs to be installed as system file.
It'll help a lot to know what you are porting over.

First, compare the original app of its compatible with the version of Android ln your samsung s9 lineage os. If it's not compatible, then no.
Next check what is the properties granted to the app on oneplus. Grant the same permission. It might even need to be flashed in from custom recovery.
Next, check for required packages that the app is using. Try to port them over as well.
Tbh, why don't you just use a third party app to screen record.
