you can do it and it should be fine.
basically the partition didnt get created correctly and the factory reset in the stock recovery formats the partition.

Red triangle and only 16GB at 32GB version

Hi,
I searched a lot in Internet and tried it, but nothing worked.
Hope you can help me or I must try to send my phone back...
Problems:
- Stock recovery don't boot -> dead Android with triangle comes instead
- only 16GB from my 32GB version are aviable
What I tried:
- flash cwm, twrp
- flash factory images (4.4.2, 4.4.4, L)
- flash custom rom
Additional:
- when I try to just flash system.img and userdata.img the phone won't even show the google symbol before booting the ROM
Please somebody must have a solution for it!

When you get the dead android hit vol up. That'll get you into the stick recovery. To fix the 16 vs 32 gb issues wipe cache and do a factory reset in the stock recovery

You will definitely find here what you need.
It seems this topic is only for the mtk based devices. I don't see the b1-810 tab ?

Flashing the stock recovery or performing a factory reset won't help you fix this because rooting a device modifies the /system partition and using stock recovery to factory reset won't work because the stock recovery can't wipe anything from the /system partition, factory reset in stock recovery only wipes your /data partition, the cache partition and internal storage(user space). Only a custom recovery can touch the system partition, stock recovery can not do anything to modify the system partition unless you are flashing a stock update.zip or an OTA update.
You can flash TWRP and then a custom ROM if any are available for your specific model number, but it will only work if your bootloader is unlocked, if your bootloader is locked, you can't flash TWRP or custom ROMs.
If TWRP and a ROM are not an option, then your only other option is to find the full stock firmware and reflash the device with the firmware.
If TWRP/ROMs are not available and you can't find the stock firmware, you won't be able to fix this.

TWRP: which version?

Hi all.
I am going to root and reinstall a brand new bacon phone.
I'd need to know which version of TWRP has working backup/restore features and can work on CM12.1/CM13 encrypted data.
I've read different posts about this but am a little bit confused.
TIA for any help/hint.
The newest

Is v3.0.0 suggested for both points (backup+restore and ancryption)?
Did you tried it yourself (or maybe you have confirmation by other users) or are you asking me to give it try?
Thanks anyway.
I couldn't format the cache with this version and could not boot anymore. Solved flashing the original cache from fastboot zip.

I think there's a typo.
Do you mean "formatting the cache from fastboot" or "flashing the recovery from fastboot"?

It's official. I don't know the meaning of what you said.
I mean, I never flashed a cache. I backet it up a few times but usually either I clear it(s content) or I format it(s partition).
Please help me to understand: I really don't understand.

Since the recovery (3.0.0) got stuck formatting the cache like it was corrupted, I restored it by flashing it as you do with a broken recovery.

This never happened to me, so far.
I install the recovery from recovery (either zip or img), then I reboot to recovery and do some checks. But I'ven't got the recovery stuck since years now.
Maybe I've just been lucky!

My phone is stuck at booting, I want to recover my data!

Hello,
I have Samsung Duos 2 two years ago, and rooted it 1 year ago via Odin with a rom i dont remember the name, it was working perfectly until yesterday I was customizing it "using only OS built in settings, no 3rd party apps" Suddenly the phone turned off and restarted, then stuck at the samsung logo. I think it went a soft brick!
I tried wiping cash but it give an error. I don't care for the phone, I i have photos "very important" and whatsapp/SMS messages "less important" that I want to recover them.
question1: if I re-rom it via Odin, will this wipe my data [photos/messages]?
question2: I read a post that factory reset only wipe apps and app data but no personal data, I want a confirm.
thanx in advance

No re-rom wont wipe the data and will most probably fix the bootloop if it does not then you will have to flash the stock firmware via odin.
And you read wrong i guess it wipes almost everything and mostly factory reseting wont fix bootloop. Btw i recommend waiting atleast 5 mins for the phone to boot to conform whether its bootlooped or not (my personal experience of thinking i got a bootloop after flashing somethin but the next time i did it i waited and there was no bootloop). One last thing was the Rom like stock ? If yes then its a prerooted firmware i guess.
btw do you have twrp? Its not necessary but if u have twrp tell me.

Hey
I can help you with the recovery things stored in internal storage:
download TWRP, flash it via odin: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24572369360126141
now go to recovery mode, plug it to your computer, you will found the device as MTP and have internal storage exposed, you can grab files from there

when you writing firmware/recovery to your phone, it's called flashing, by flashing stock rom you will not losing data unless you do a factory reset in recovery

I mentioned above I am new to these android stuff, sorry for annoying you and thanks for your replies.
Download stock firmware on: http://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?q=Gt-s7582
And flash it in Odin like you've flash the TWRP
After flash finished, go to stock recovery and factory reset

Using the stock firmware or the Rom you ussd before is the solution dont use any other rom and if flashing the firmware didnt fix you should try wiping system using twrp and then flash the stock firmware again

you should have download mode even have TWRP flashed
remove battery, put battery in, hold HOME + volume down + power button, after phone boot up then it will show warning message, press volume up to enter download mode then you can flash stock rom using odin

Help with fastboot!

Will flashing cos13 through fastboot also wipe my internal storage? My bootloader is already unlocked.
Thanks!
Edit: I think flashing Userdata will wipe my internal storage.
Is there any way to avoid it and still be on cos13?

Yes, first you have to wipe everything (not internal storage), then you have to flash cm12.1 stock firmware and cm12.1 based ROM. All this can be made using twrp and ROMs_signed.zip
