Tholotis, blurring the line between perfection and reality. Literally.
Tholotis is minimalistic app that enables you to blur, dim, and save your wallpapers.
Done blurring and dimming? Let BackDrop™ take over, an algorithm that produces pixel perfect wallpaper optimization.
Moreover, make your homescreen glow by tinting your wallpaper in your favorite colors.
Complete feature list:
- Pick current wallpaper or select from gallery
- Blur, dim
- Tint (Paid feature)
- Crop, rotate image
- Produce pixel perfect wallpapers with BackDrop™
- Set wallpaper, save to gallery
- Share
.....
"Tholotis" is a transliteration of the Greek word "θολότης", which means "blur".
Much of Tholotis' design was based on Roman Nurik's extraordinary app Muzei.
Tholotis is not a "cheap copy" of Muzei. Muzei is a live wallpaper, while Tholotis is a tool for blurring images and saving them in your Gallery. Tholotis just resembles Muzei in the sliders layout, the resources of which were directly taken from Muzei since it's an open source app. Everything else is entirely my creation. Credits were given to Roman Nurik in the Play Store app description.
wow You're in xda portal
nice app thanks

I like it but i wish there was a way to save the wallpaper without setting it automatically
Sent from my SGP311 using Tapatalk
it says save to gallery but does not save ...just applies the wallpaper directly
Nice app. 3 additional sliders to saturate R G B colors would be nice.
Hey Chris95X8.
I remember your work from SE X8 times..
I see you made big progess That's great!
Really nice app!
Any chance for saturation sliders?
Great app! Works very fast and effortless :good:
Small feature request: Would be great if "Save to gallery" option would only do that and not also set it as wallpaper.
awesome thanks
Nice app
I like the app but I am getting FC when applying the wall. Anyone else ? Nexus 5 stock 4.4.2.
Looks really nice!
Maybe add feature to add text? With some nice fonts.
I'd like to see an option not to automatically apply the wallpaper.
Great app. Works very well. Thanks for sharing!
Version 1.4 features a new option to save a blurred image without setting it as a wallpaper, as requested. Long press the checkmark button, and the image will be saved.
Also, I will not be adding extra sliders for saturation and/or other effects. It goes beyond the app's purpose.

Does the crash occur with any image or a specific one? If it is a specific image, try to send it to me so I can test myself. This is weird because I also have a Nexus 5 stock.
It is the stock yellow Kit Kat wallpaper I have in my download folder on internal memory..I have downloaded it somewhere before I got Nexus 5 and transfered it later on to N5 from my good old N4 ..Here is a link to my dropbox with all the stock wallpapers https://www.dropbox.com/sh/o97pbheqtt59u61/BAbFrkYkYa
Its no big deal , it will FC but also it will do what it should do, meaning all the adjustment and also setting up the wallpaper. It just FC's with that.
Anyway thanks for your interest. I also have Muzei app installed, maybe it has something to do with this. Crash report sent couple of times.
Thanks

Nice one Chris! Fovero
Tholotis' core was entirely rethought and reworked, and now uses a powerful algorithm called BackDrop™ which produces pixel-perfect wallpapers in order to make your device look gorgeous.
What does this offer that Blurone doesn't? Genuine question. Picture blurring has been around for a while.

BackDrop™, dimming, and much better design. That's what it offers. Oh, and no ads either.
Pixel perfect wallpapers... Are you saying the already existing method/s (prior to BackDrop) were not producing good pictures?
As @MattKneale previously said, picture blurring has been around for a while... And it seemed fine . Anyway, there is always room for improvement, I guess :good:.
Don't get me wrong, I am not attempting to bash your work in any way. It is awesome, keep up the good work

Enjoy 30 new wallpapers for your Transformer. They are all at 1920x1280 and allow for a little room to crop so you can get them displayed exactly how you want them. Widen the crop box as big as it will go for the best resolution once the image is set.
These are just images that caught my eye and look great on the Transformer. I hope you enjoy.

It looks great on the transformers screen.
Here is a site with some nice wallpaper for the Transformer.
http://galaxytab-wallpapers.com/
Edit: Rewrite
I'll be re uploading a whole new wallpaper pack with the correct resolutions tomorrow. For now here's what you can do.
Download HD Wallpaper Pack 2
Unzip to your download folder,
Go to market and download "Wallpaper Wizardrii"
Install and reboot
When it comes back up all of the wallpapers should now be visible in the gallery. Choose the picture you want and click on the share button in the top right. Wallpaper Wizardrii should now be a choice. Select it.
From there just click on set and set it to scrolling and it'll adjust the images in the wallpaper pack above accordingly.
Let's get them all gathered up in one spot

I made this wallpaper for myself since I got bored of the ones that came with the tablet already. Nothing spectacular, but I thought since I made it, may as well share it. The jpg version is just a preview by the way. Full size version is in the zip.
Hey guys, I'm putting together a website dedicated to mobile wallpapers for various devices that I own.
After searching the internet for a good site, I have yet to find one that meets certain criteria and almost all of them have wallpapers that don't quite live up to expectations:
-them being too big
-them being too small
-them not being quite the right size to accommodate Android's strange "crop" window you receive after selecting a picture you want to use.
I'm aiming to fix that by having wallpapers designed with Android in mind to not only accommodate the crop window, but also allow you to select and use the entire picture.
I'm still in the process of getting everything running smooth, and there's still some performance tweaks, theme settings, and configuration settings that need to be addressed but eventually I'll get there. I also hope to have a mobile version running soon, so that you can access from any Android device.
This site will also allow guests/registered users to upload their own wallpapers and will automatically resize them according to what album you upload them to.
Anyway, check out the sneak peak here: http://www.freeza-inc.com/walls
Copies of my Bee paper.
I have optimised the one with the blue glow bar for Launcher pro plus so that it sits at the top as a dock background, this will not scale properly with the default home/launcher so I have included a couple without it with the bee top, middle and bottom.
If anyone would like the original photoshop .psd file I will look for it and post it - you could then change the text below the bee to read whatever you like.
Still working on the bee skin for launcher pro plus - will post the apk for skinning when finished.
Must put the damn tablet down - getting a condition known as 'Tablet thumbs' I think.

I Develop LWP and you would be surprise how little a drain you can get if your smart with your coding, and considering stripes looks to be rendered on the spot, it can be using close to 0.03% when active and nothing when it isn't visible.
Edit, Also I LOVE YOUR WALLPAPER!!!
PS: If you parent going to release a paid version, you should get rid of the free label on your icon, it can discourage people on Google Play, because they will assume its limited or has ads when it pops up in a search.

Anyone created a palette based on Android "L" yet? (http://www.androidguys.com/2014/06/25/get-look-android-l-wallpaper/)
It would look great with Anystripe. Though slight "fan" look and shading can't be done.

Hello ProNewb,
Do you mean the color palettes? You can choose from 1 to 5 colors in palette creator already. For now we don't plan to increase max number of colors but this didn't mean that we don't introduce this in the future. In the meanwhile we plan to release some cool new features in next 2-3 weeks. Keep in touch!
Radial stripes are coming soon:

Also thoughts about something like this for displaying time rather than traditional numbers?

I like it.
And here is my first impression.
Simple and easy use, which is good.
First time starting, it takes a bit for the "processing", maybe you want to consider renaming that to something like "Initialising first use or start or ..." this way a user won't get impatient nor wonders if that will now happen everytime.
I like that it asks to choose a color for the picked city, that is good, maybe you can also add custom color at some point.
Also I would rename "duration calculation" to "days since".
The widget is cool since it switches from city to city. Maybe later you can add custom duration times.
One thing about the widget is that the text is small compared to widget size.
At some point I would also add a dark theme.
So I hope you like my review/thoughts/impressions.
All in all is this a great app, especially for people travelling allot or who have work with people in different time zones.
Will continue using it and keep you posted on my impressions.

BTW, anyone think of some useful tools I can add?
Updated with a week number calculator. Enter a week number and year and get back the start date
Update:
I've added a pin local time option in settings. With this you can pin current local time to the top of the list or set your own time zone and use that instead.

Thanks, I've installed it but for some reason I cannot resize the widget down, seems it can't go smaller than 2 rows. Is this by design, or a bug, or just a problem on my phone? I'm using Xperia home launcher, with an xposed mod to set the grid to 6x5, and allows me to resize any widget to any size - and it's working fine with other widgets, I can make them anywhere between 1x1 and 6x5 without problems.

Change color from main screen rather than recreating a clock
Hi all. I just came across a website that has produced some very well made G3 wallpapers that really shows off this phone's screen. Unlike some of the other HD wallpaper websites I've been guided to, this is one that already has the wallpaper resized to fit our screen if you use the Google Photos app to save it as home screen wallpaper and not the default gallery app. Just tap on save as wallpaper (and save as lock screen wallpaper if that's what you want) and it's done. No need to try to crop, resize or position a certain part of the wallpaper onto the screen because the rest won't fit. I should add that I only use the static home screen feature, so those with multiple screens, this may not be as appealing to you. These are 1440x2560. Hope you enjoy!! Use the Google Photos app to set it as home screen wallpaper. Don't use the default Gallery app because it will zoom and crop it. Also, I only use static home screen. If you have multiple home screens, then I don't know how well these will work. You might want to find some with a resolution higher than 1440x2560 if thats the case.

Don't use the Gallery app to set as wallpaper. Use the Photos app to set it as wallpaper. The Gallery makes you crop it. The Photo app allows you to save the entire image.
I am using the photos app (google) and it autocrops the pictures I try to set as background. Any suggestions?
Seems to me that a lot of these wallpapers aren't really QHD at all. Sure thats the size of the image, but they have clearly been upscaled, probably from 1080P or even 720P. Most when zoomed in to 100% are pretty jagged or blurry.
Finding REAL 1440P portrait wallpapers is proving to be pretty tough.

It really isn't difficult at all, the problem is that people aren't aware of something called Wallbase. There you can find tons of wallpapers up to 4K resolution. It has a nice app to it as well. Totally free on Android Market.
Don't give two ****s about any wallpaper app, pack, or anything called something like "G3wallpapers.com"... On Wallbase you can find exactly what you are looking for and not some ****ty up-scaled wallpapers. Cheers.
Another Wallpapers Site !!
A lot of wallpapers here: http://www.droidviews.com/downloads/wallpapers/
If you want a scrollable wallpaper at the best res, you'll probably want 2880x2560. 1440x2560 gives just a static wallpaper that's not scrollable (unless you crop).
Thanks... Fantastic Site

I beg to differ, viewing at 100% clearly shows that most of the pictures sizes, even on Wallbase are the same basic image, just scaled to the size you download, the original source image is often just 1080P, even many of the 4ks are obvious upscales

Ah, that's where it's at. Most of the time, the OP has a link in the post itself. But now that I know where to look, I'll download and install it, and get back to you. Thanks!
Alright, here's my honest opinion about your app. I very much like the way the wallpapers are presented. I like the fact that as they scroll from right to left, they are presented on screen for a preview.
That's about all I like about it. What I don't like are the following things:
The preview that is shown is only a small portion of the entire wallpaper. Every wallpaper that I looked at is a large, scroll-able image, that cannot be cropped or resized. So, what ends up happening is that you can only see 50% of the image in the preview. You have to guess at what the other 50% looks like.
Then what I REALLY REALLY don't like is the BIG surprise when you do find an image that you'd like to try. The instant you tap the 'Select' button, there is no confirmation dialog or anything, just an instantaneous very loud full screen advertisement that you have to put up with for 5 seconds minimum. But even after waiting those required 5 seconds to X out of the ad page, all that happens then is that your program shuts down, and you're back at the home screen.
Speaking of home screen, I have ( or rather HAD) my home screen set to NOT scroll the wallpaper. But your app overwrote that preference, and set a new preference to have the wallpaper scroll. So, now I'll have to go back to setting and re-configure it the way I wanted it to be in the first place.
So, in the end, would I try it again? No
Would I recommend it to anyone else to try? No
Did I like it? No
Thanks for the opportunity to try your app. IMHO, it needs a lot of work to become 'user friendly'.
