Another Excellent G3 Wallpaper site - G3 Themes and Apps

Hi all. I just came across a website that has produced some very well made G3 wallpapers that really shows off this phone's screen. Unlike some of the other HD wallpaper websites I've been guided to, this is one that already has the wallpaper resized to fit our screen if you use the Google Photos app to save it as home screen wallpaper and not the default gallery app. Just tap on save as wallpaper (and save as lock screen wallpaper if that's what you want) and it's done. No need to try to crop, resize or position a certain part of the wallpaper onto the screen because the rest won't fit. I should add that I only use the static home screen feature, so those with multiple screens, this may not be as appealing to you. These are 1440x2560. Hope you enjoy!! Wallpapers Lg G3 1440 2560 Quad Hd Awesome Hi Quality
Examples of some I've downloaded:

Use the Google Photos app to set it as home screen wallpaper. Don't use the default Gallery app because it will zoom and crop it. Also, I only use static home screen. If you have multiple home screens, then I don't know how well these will work. You might want to find some with a resolution higher than 1440x2560 if thats the case.

Download an icon pack. Then download ThemeX from the market. Then use ThemeX to pick out which icons you would like to use and download them to your sd card. Go the LG home screen, long press on the icon you want to edit and pick the icon that you saved to your sd card.

Here's another one: http://www.lgg3wallpaper.com/

Man, this cropping is getting on my nerves. Does anyone know how to stop the wallpaper from cropping?

Don't use the Gallery app to set as wallpaper. Use the Photos app to set it as wallpaper. The Gallery makes you crop it. The Photo app allows you to save the entire image.

I am using the photos app (google) and it autocrops the pictures I try to set as background. Any suggestions?

Seems to me that a lot of these wallpapers aren't really QHD at all. Sure thats the size of the image, but they have clearly been upscaled, probably from 1080P or even 720P. Most when zoomed in to 100% are pretty jagged or blurry.
Finding REAL 1440P portrait wallpapers is proving to be pretty tough.

Yes, that's it. Didn't realize I put the "r" there. I was at work at the time. Glad you got it working though.

For all you users looking to avoid cropping issues, download Wallpapyrus from the Play Store. It sets your picture as your wallpaper without cropping.

Not at all.

It really isn't difficult at all, the problem is that people aren't aware of something called Wallbase. There you can find tons of wallpapers up to 4K resolution. It has a nice app to it as well. Totally free on Android Market.
Don't give two ****s about any wallpaper app, pack, or anything called something like "G3wallpapers.com"... On Wallbase you can find exactly what you are looking for and not some ****ty up-scaled wallpapers. Cheers.

Another Wallpapers Site !!
A lot of wallpapers here: http://www.droidviews.com/downloads/wallpapers/

If you want a scrollable wallpaper at the best res, you'll probably want 2880x2560. 1440x2560 gives just a static wallpaper that's not scrollable (unless you crop).

Thanks... Fantastic Site

I beg to differ, viewing at 100% clearly shows that most of the pictures sizes, even on Wallbase are the same basic image, just scaled to the size you download, the original source image is often just 1080P, even many of the 4ks are obvious upscales

Android Phone 7 icons for our Phone

I like the Android Phone 7 icons http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=781455 bust since there made for HDPI Evo it overlaps on our phone, can anyone make a custom pack to fit our phones screen?
Heres some i've made to better fit our screens. I also included PSD's of both icon types with all the images I used.

Note: They come out slightly fuzzy (you can see the fonts) and thats the fault of Desktop Visualizer. Some say there is a work-around using the (Large) widget and resizing down an image with larger dimensions, however i've tried and cannot get them to line up correctly as these do. However, I think it looks good enough for daily use.

@raymond4 - No it is a zip file of icons that you use with Desktop Visualizer.
@jasonevil - While yours are sharper, they do not align correctly. We need to figure out the best of both worlds.
That looks great! What do you mean by "desired size"? Do I just adjust the size in DV with the dimensions you provided?
I'm sorry if my questions have already been answered but I just want to be clear

hmm...didn't notice that before, you can't tell it when you view the actual phone.
i'll probably have to go through the apk's code to see exactly what each widget resizes the images to, to get it exactly right, now this is going to bother me lol
anyone got a copy of the apk, for some reason i couldn't pull it earlier :/

i did the images double the sizes of what you'd need so that when you resize down, they will stay sharp and not have blur. using dvr's large widget and resizing them down to either 3x1, 1x2 etc....depending on what image you are using...

I tried this and discovered that you can leave the label blank and set the background to transperant. Not sure if that messes up any formatting though.
Deleted the tag and Bingo! thanks!

How do you get the app to identify a zip file to pull icons from? Is this something that needs unzipped from a PC beforehand? Thanks in advance!

To all wanting the updated set of icons & template that are both sharp and align correctly -- Android Phone 7 (MDPI)

[Layout] Android Phone 7 (MDPI)

This is a "port" of Android Phone 7 (HDPI) made to fit our smaller device screens.
All credit goes to newone757 for creating the idea.
I recreated the templates to better fit MDPI devices, and threw in some different icons that I used to create what you see in the preview.

Instructions:
1. Download icon pack from bottom of post and extract to your SD card
1. Install LauncherPro (and activate Plus features to be able to resize the widgets properly)
2. Install Desktop Visualizer
3. In LauncherPro settings, under Advanced set homescreen rows to 5
4. Create a Desktop Visualizer(Large) widget with chosen image, and resize to correct dimensions (3x1 or 1x2)
5. Align them as shown in screenshot
6. Profit?
I also included PSD templates for the 3x1 and 1x2 images so you can feel free to create your own. Only thing to make sure you do is set the Clipping Mask on the 3x1 icon.

Below are some screenshots of some icons i put together.. my only problem is they don't look crisp and clear.. the full images were very clear images and were at least double in size if not larger before i resized them down. To avoid blurriness none have been resized larger..
im using the DVR Large widget as well... i can not figure out why it doesn't look clearer.. any ideas?
First of all, i must thank and congratulate you for you good work in this "porting".
I would like to know, if possible, what font did you use in the icons. I'm trying to do some extra icons on my one, but since i like the ones you made, i want my icons to match them.
Thanks in advance.

how was this possible. uncrop wallpaper stock launcher?

i was playing with my TF700, webbrowing etc and i decided to change wallpaper. i don't use any launcher cause i much prefer the stock launcher and more so now after JB. When i selected the wallpaper (offical asus wallpapers) i notice that it did not crop, it actually show the entire 1920x1200 wallpaper in full. It looked so much cleaner and sharper, made me appreciate the screen much more. I did not change to a different wallpaper cause i was afraid to lose it but after i rebooted my device a day after, the wallpaper became crop again.
Anyone know how is this possible. i want my wallpapers back WITHOUT using a different launcher OR livewallpaper (which slowdown the tablet)

Use picspeed, install picspeed, go to your gallery, click on picture you want to use, in the dropdown menu on the top right select set as, then you'll youu an option that looks like wood thats for picspeed, click that, choose the widescreen format and scrollable (wont scroll) then set wallpaper. Very close to uncropped, just ever so slightly, hopefully picspeed fixes this, much better than standard way of setting wallpaper.

Tholotis, blurring the line between perfection and reality. Literally.
Tholotis is minimalistic app that enables you to blur, dim, and save your wallpapers.
Done blurring and dimming? Let BackDrop™ take over, an algorithm that produces pixel perfect wallpaper optimization.
Moreover, make your homescreen glow by tinting your wallpaper in your favorite colors.
Complete feature list:
- Pick current wallpaper or select from gallery
- Blur, dim
- Tint (Paid feature)
- Crop, rotate image
- Produce pixel perfect wallpapers with BackDrop™
- Set wallpaper, save to gallery
- Share
.....
"Tholotis" is a transliteration of the Greek word "θολότης", which means "blur".
Much of Tholotis' design was based on Roman Nurik's extraordinary app Muzei.
Tholotis is not a "cheap copy" of Muzei. Muzei is a live wallpaper, while Tholotis is a tool for blurring images and saving them in your Gallery. Tholotis just resembles Muzei in the sliders layout, the resources of which were directly taken from Muzei since it's an open source app. Everything else is entirely my creation. Credits were given to Roman Nurik in the Play Store app description.

Nice app. 3 additional sliders to saturate R G B colors would be nice.
Hey Chris95X8.
I remember your work from SE X8 times..
I see you made big progess That's great!
Really nice app!
Any chance for saturation sliders?
Great app! Works very fast and effortless :good:
Small feature request: Would be great if "Save to gallery" option would only do that and not also set it as wallpaper.
awesome thanks
Nice app
I like the app but I am getting FC when applying the wall. Anyone else ? Nexus 5 stock 4.4.2.
Looks really nice!
Maybe add feature to add text? With some nice fonts.
I'd like to see an option not to automatically apply the wallpaper.
Great app. Works very well. Thanks for sharing!
Version 1.4 features a new option to save a blurred image without setting it as a wallpaper, as requested. Long press the checkmark button, and the image will be saved.
Also, I will not be adding extra sliders for saturation and/or other effects. It goes beyond the app's purpose.

Does the crash occur with any image or a specific one? If it is a specific image, try to send it to me so I can test myself. This is weird because I also have a Nexus 5 stock.
It is the stock yellow Kit Kat wallpaper I have in my download folder on internal memory..I have downloaded it somewhere before I got Nexus 5 and transfered it later on to N5 from my good old N4 ..Here is a link to my dropbox with all the stock wallpapers https://www.dropbox.com/sh/o97pbheqtt59u61/BAbFrkYkYa
Its no big deal , it will FC but also it will do what it should do, meaning all the adjustment and also setting up the wallpaper. It just FC's with that.
Anyway thanks for your interest. I also have Muzei app installed, maybe it has something to do with this. Crash report sent couple of times.
Thanks

Nice one Chris! Fovero
Tholotis' core was entirely rethought and reworked, and now uses a powerful algorithm called BackDrop™ which produces pixel-perfect wallpapers in order to make your device look gorgeous.
What does this offer that Blurone doesn't? Genuine question. Picture blurring has been around for a while.

BackDrop™, dimming, and much better design. That's what it offers. Oh, and no ads either.
Pixel perfect wallpapers... Are you saying the already existing method/s (prior to BackDrop) were not producing good pictures?
As @MattKneale previously said, picture blurring has been around for a while... And it seemed fine . Anyway, there is always room for improvement, I guess :good:.
Don't get me wrong, I am not attempting to bash your work in any way. It is awesome, keep up the good work

Has anyone else had issues with third party wallpapers (non-stock wallpapers) being visually downgraded (pixelation specifically) upon being setup? I ended up purchasing the app Facets from the Play Store because I thought all the wallpapers looked pretty cool, however whenever I set one of them as a wallpaper, they end up looking significantly lower resolution. The images themselves look great when viewing them (both within the app and ones that I have since downloaded to my SD card) but once I set it as a wallpaper, I notice a significant difference in resolution. I have included two screenshots for reference: the first is of a wallpaper I have downloaded and am viewing in my Gallery app, and the second is the exact same image after being set as my wallpaper. If you focus on the lines composing the ape's nose, you can see a large difference in quality between the two images. Any ideas why, or perhaps fixes?

Edit: I just noticed that both images look quite crappy, so I will try to reattach them later in higher resolution.
Edit 2: There you go!
I thought it was only me who noticed it. It's a problem.
Try this with the problematic wallpapers. Install nova launcher, and use the nova launcher wallpaper selector. I've had much better luck with that. BTW what method do you use to get the android L navbar? Figure I gotta start getting used to them some day

I ended up using an Xposed module for it (this one - http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.ash.androidlnavigationbar) But thanks for the tip, I will try it out. I thought I was going crazy for a bit, good to know I am not the only one.

I thought the wallpaper was from facets?
Also, the Nav bar shapes on L might not be the official ones used in release. New versions of L are coming up with a totally new Nav bat
