Somehow I lost all my contacts today. No big deal, I don't talk to THAT many people and can just get their numbers again. However, I decided to sync my facebook contacts. I noticed something weird. With the contacts that were imported using Facebook, when I go to text that number I cannot search for the name. It will not auto populate in the "Name" box of the text message. Numbers that I manually add to my contact list work just fine. Also, my contacts are not keeping their Facebook profile picture in text messages. In the call log its fine. Anyone experience this?
1. You shoulda synced them over google contacts...
2. Delete/wipe cache of facebook and reinstall it, see if that works (reboot inbetween)
So I' on Cyanmobile X and the inbuilt Messaging app doesnt allow sending an SMS to multiple numbers at the same time.
So I tried Hancent SMS and Go SMS.
Now the problem is that all these apps are showing the same name/number multiple times when I try to send a message.
Hancent SMS shows a name 3 times and GO SMS shows it 2 times.
I dont know why this happens ? ;/
and its really annoying
Any way to get rid of this?
My phonebook doesnt have any problem, its showing only 1 copy of the contact
SOLUTION
Solved the prob myself
I used Contacts Aggregator by Skullab Software
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skullab.ContactsAggregator&feature=search_result
The App itself is really easy to use.
As soon as you delete all the Duplicates, you'll get a warning from your Google Sync saying that too many contacts were removed and what to do now.Just click the "Delete them all" option and wait for the sync to complete.
Well thats it
[Note: Dont worry about your SIM contacts, this app wont touch SIM contacts ]:good:

Have somehow gotten into a situation where my SMS and MMS messages in Hangouts disappear from view (in Hangouts) if I log out of Google+/Hangouts. Log in - they appear - log out, they disappear.
Have even tried clearing all MMS and SMS, logging out of Google+/Hangouts, and then restoring the SMS/MMS messages. Nothing. No messages seen (in Hangouts). And then I log back in to Google+/Hangouts, and wham! they reappear.
Somehow, Hangouts has decided that all of my MMS/SMS messages belong in my Google+/Hangouts profile, and if I'm not in that profile, I don't need to see my SMS/MMS (in Hangouts).
[Third-party SMS/MMS apps remain OK, however the messages are messed up - wrong order, SMS show with a blank title line, etc]
What is going on, and how can I fix this?
You probably just have to close it and re-open it (if it's still set as the default SMS app), but the bigger question is...
Why do you keep logging out and back in to Google+/Hangouts?

It is kind of a two part app. a standalone sms app and a sms/hangouts app at the same time. When you are logged into hangouts you are smsing in that part of the app. If you sign out you are not longer in the combined app. You are now in the stand alone version. If you don't use hangouts stay signed out. If you do use hangouts stay signed in. It is kind of "it is what it is" thing. It may change later but for now with this first release for integration that is how it acts.

hangouts is designed to stay logged in... but best way to fix it would be get a MSG app and use that for texts and then log in to hangouts when you want to use it.. Or stay logged into hangouts all the time

Would have understood if new messages I sent from Hangouts had ended up in the 'combined' app. But surprised that my old SMS messages from last week, month and year get hijacked into 'combined app' as soon as I activate SMS functionality within Hangouts, and won't show unless I'm logged in.
I'm having a strange issue with the gmail app. I'm running the Purity ROM, but I'm not sure this is directly related to that.
My dash clock extension shows the correct number of unread message. Also, when I go to the gmail app, it shows the correct count next to my user name. However, not all of the emails are showing up in the inbox. Pulling down to refresh does not make them appear either. I don't think it has to do with my gmail settings because these are all new messages and I don't have any filtering, priority inbox, or promotional inbox type setup.
Has anyone experience this issue? Is there a way to resolve it by resetting the data or cache for the app?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Hi,
I cant see the contacts in SMS app. They disappear, and app only shows number. When you get into a SMS thread then it suddenly updates the Contact name. I dunno why is that. Do you know how to solve this ?
