Hey guys, I'm facing a new problem, I can't install or uninstall any application. The phone reboots when I perform the above operation. I have 80mb of space left and I'm using stock rom with ta gb kernel. Cronmod int2ext+ script with 512mb ext partition. Any help is appreciated.

Happened with me some time back. I re formatted SD-EXT partition and was all fine then.
Here's what to do:
Backup all you apps (with apps like titanium backup) and messages and all the other stuff (in case can't restore)
Reboot into recovery
Backup your ROM (nandroid backup)
Backup your sdcard
Wipe all data/Factory data reset
Recreate SD-EXT partition
Restore sdcard
Restore backup (nandroid)
If doesnt boot, remember you have the backups of all the apps

Hmm, apps are stored in the data portion of the backup. Where do you install your apps? To SDcard or to the phone's internal storage? If you're not installing them to the internal storage I'm not sure where they would be or whether they're being backed up at all.
If you're not installing them to the SD card, try this. Do your restore then reboot then go back into recovery and do an advanced restore and just do /Data.
Im on Valhallah 1.1 and I linked every app I could to my to my external SDcards ext4 partition including the Link2SD App.
After I rebooted almost every app I linked disappeared including Link2SD and MARKET app.
I've tried battery pull/reboot. Nothing. I tried downliading Link2SD through android market on my Browser but it says it is already installed.
Does anyone know how I can fix this BIG Problem??
Thanks

Did you do a factory reset? That might be the reason why your apps are disappearing.
After wiping, you can restore your data through CWM.
That's a known issue with KH2, which is what 1.1 was based off of. I always wipe my phone after every install now for safe keeping though.

No. But I will. To restore data do I have to flash Bali 3.3 - restore Data and then flash KG4 Kernel?

I miss read your reply. I dont have the disappearing app issue. I did factory restore when I flashed the ROM weeks ago. Everything has been perfect.
My issue is the result of using Link2SD to link my apps. The only apps that Im missing are the ones I linked to my external SDcard. Which included Market app and Link2sd. I have no Market now and cant access Link2sd to swap them back.
I was wondering if an advaced data restore is the same process of restoring nandroid backup?

Thanks bkoon. That worked. My backup was a couple of days old but I'm good.
Pardon all the questions I'm at work and was bugging out (80's slang lol) cause my phone was a mess.
Thank you for your quick reply!
Mods can close this thread. Problem fixed.

Hi
Yesterday i wanted to check out a new Rom. So i did a Backup in cwm 5. I flashed the new Rom, After wipeing and factory Reset. Off course i did not touch fat32.
When i restored my backup it looked like a complete fresh install.
Can anyone explain what happened???
Really...no ideas at all?

Could you explain fresh install? I mean fresh install of your old rom or the new one.
I'm really still new to flashing but i think if you do a nand backup you backup your entire old rom.
Still one tested advice, next time backup your apps with titanium backup, copy backup on pc, wipe all, install rom, format sd card, after that restore apps using titanium backup, i think thats as clean and tidy as it gets. You don't need to format sd card but its cleaner that way.
Hope it helped.
P.S: Some roms (especially ICS and JB) need the partition to be formatted as ext (extended) partition still idk if a rom will automatically format the partition, my bro nedded to manually reformat using cwm, i didn't really follow the process when i was adding my ics rom but i didn't need to repartition, at least not manually.
By fresh install i mean like if you just flashed a rom without doing any configuration or installing anything.

Well it is a new rom, what you backed up as far as i understand is your old rom with settings, so it's just normall for the new rom to be fresh installed.
Flashing ftf is a must after unlocking, but is there a way to preserve data ? I mean my phone will not get wipe

Try not to wipe cache and user data when flashing through Flashtool.
If you can't boot to system without wiping userdata, the best way is backup via Titanium Backup before unlocking bootloader.
If I'm not wrong, Internal SD wouldn't get wiped, only /data partition. But it's better to take backup of your Internal SD first.

I don't get what you mean about the "data" :|
Is it Contact, SMS, etc? Backup using My Backup/ My Backup Pro: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rerware.android.MyBackup
App & Game? Backup using Titanium Backup

Ahh I see..
For system app backup, you need to restore it manually one by one, don't use batch action.
FC is normal for restoring system app, but after reboot, FC is gone.
If you want to move updated app from /data to /system partition.
You can use Batch action "Integrate update of system apps into ROM"
Again, it's normal if FC happen, just reboot your phone after finished integrating the update.

but problem is still there. I reflashed again and I just restored data apps... I already tried wiping cache and dalvik and reboot but FC still there... Im not planning to move to updated app
I would make an update.zip file with all the apps (Just apps not data) and attempt to flash it once I flash my new ROM. Unfortunately when attempting to flash the apps rendered by Titanium Back I get an error called "error: sysnamaps" or something like that. Any ideas how to properly get this working?

Code:

Did you include system apps in your backup? There's a bug in titanium backup where you can't backup system apps.

Possibly, I'll try that out! Thanks a lot!
If i m using link2sd for linking apps to sd card will installation of this update.zip move apps to my sd card or it will simply install on my internal memory?
