Please, someone help me out...Is there a way to tell times my tablet has been used. There have been a few instances where apps have been moved, things have been deleted and last night, I got on and I had 5 extra pages added. I didn't do it. And nobody else could have done it around me. Does anyone have any clue what could be going on? Is there some kind of master password for all products or something or could someone on Samsung's end be getting in, like someone working for them? This is getting semi creepy.
I will say its not samsung. What have you flashed lately? Any suspicious apps? Could be a bunch of different reasons. Could be someone hacked your gmail(unlikely) and is using it on their device. Change your passwords.

So I have been searching to figure out a reason behind this but I cant find anything. I have a Captivate that is running the Voodoo LagFix kernel. I just went to check and noticed in my Notifications that there were like 3 unsucessful downloads that I never downloaded! I dont know where they came from and they are nothing I would want to download. At the moment there is Galactic Core Donation, chompSMS, USAA Mobile, and City at Night Live Wallpaper that are downloaded unsucessfully that I never downloaded.
Any ideas why this could be happening. This isnt the first time I have seen it but this is the most I have seen. I have seen it happen once or twice before with only one or two apps. Then again I have only had the phone for a week or so. Let me know if there is any other info that you guys need or if a certain app I have would cause this. Im stumped and need help.
Did you ever use them?

So a friend of mine dragged me into trying to help this woman who thinks her son was taken in by a cult. (I call it crazy but what do I know) He dropped off the phone an Atrix 2 and bailed. They want to see the deleted messages. Issue is that recovering them requires root and it seems I have that fun little issue that requires a factory reset before adb can figure out its magic. (I think a factory reset would create the deleted messages unrecoverable) Been reading every darn thread I could and still can't seem to find a solution. I kinda doubt there is one to be honest. But if anyone has something that might work I don't mind giving it a shot. Oh yeah you might notice its my first post but I haven't really had any issues with rooting before and to be frank I am just not really into these types of things enough to be able to give back to the community well. My apologies.
I have tried 1click methods, apk's, adb (fresh install on a new hard drive, had one layin about) drivers, inf changes, you name it I probably tried it.
Anything to be done?
Here's to the hope someone can help.

Amen to that, brother! :sly:
Anyway, regarding your query, I looked around and found this. It doesn't seem to require root so it might be just what you're looking for.
Also if you factory reset it doesn't overwrite the memory so you should still be able to recover them if you know where to look and prey to god that the memory doesn't get overwritten by something else

Hi all,
I'm looking for a way I could send a message to either a specific person I see, or just randomly everyone around me (this is for a project I'm doing) without them pre installing anything on their phone like firechat or something.
Any ideas how to do that?
I was considering Bluejacking or maybe somehow using iPhones Multipeer Connectivity somehow...
I don't mind narrowing this down just to people who use android/iPhone/have something very popular installed (whatsapp), using something other then my phone (computer or something) or designing this for a future scenario
Thanks!
Hi,
I recently met someone online who was a romantic type of encounter but the more we spoke the more creeped out I got by the things hes seemed to know about me.
I finally came to the conclusion the things he said to me were extremely huge red flags, there was no way it was a coincidence anymore, and he knew FAR too much about things personal to me such as separate email accounts, and fake birthdates I use as only the last straw before I concluded to reset my device.
Code:
Alcatel
One Touch
Fierce 2
Kitkat
Thats the device I have. We 1st spoke on Kik and he sent me 2 pictures. One was of him that would not open an image. I tried to open it several times but it was just a blank picture.
The second I was able to view and download.
Does anyone know if this is possible to become infected by those means alone?
Otherwise it is possible he made a fake account and infected me with a link that did not work, but I was always under the impression that it was not possible to become infected by Rat or Keylogger with out installation. I was told in a recent thread I could become infected with opening a false link(???).
Im pretty much 100% sure I was infected. I hard reset my phone, but not the SD card yet. I believe the virus is gone, but I feel very creeped out this happen and do not see this going anywhere further but I would like to know if it is even possible. Theres no way Im being paranoid, but I do get a little over worried sometimes, unfortunately I think this was one of the genuine times.
How is it possible if someone did? Anybody have a link to a good article I could learn more? Thanks.
Its easy to embed malware like spyware in images, its one of the older tricks in the book but it usually relays on buggy software to execute the non image code...
Nothing original here, I did the accidentally deleted a whole chain of texts thing, they had to do with a death in the family and now I really want them back. I understand I can use 3rd party app software to try and get them back, but I'm not sure if they all require rooting the phone, and how dangerous this is. I've changed settings in my laptop bios and updated it, so I'm not scared of getting into tricky software areas, but would like clarification on the dangers of rooting/retrieving. I don't want to lose anything else. If anyone has advice, it'd be very much appreciated!
Also, tips on good apps would be great.
Thanks
