Im trying to unlock the phone to do a carrier wipe to try to add it to my Boost account. Ive rooted the phone, and the boot-loader is unlocked. I grabbed an app called MSL Reader to try to use that 6 digit number as an unlock code (after you press ##3282# or ##72786#, which I kinda harassed the Boost rep into giving me but i doubt its legit), but it didnt work. Boost says I would have to get the code from sprint, and that I cant put that phone on the account anyway bc its not made for the Boost system, but they have the same phone clear as day on their web page to buy, and Sprint says I cant get the unlock code unless its activated through them and to go back to Boost for help. Isnt there an app or someway to get around the lock or at least some kind of generator to generate the code for me with the ESN or MEID or atleast use a simcard from a different company? I busted my screen on my crapocera (kyocera) hydro and I dont wanna buy a new phone, and after reading the reviews for the so-called unlock site and programs, I dont even wanna chance it, and be out more money as i JUST put $55 on my boost account that I cannot use *UGH*. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

My buddy gave me a brand new HTC Touch Pro2. He is on the Sprint network but I am on the Verizon network. I would like to unlock this phone and use it for verizon. I really need help with this and don't know how to do it. Can someone help me out ?
your friend wouldnt happen to this guy, would he? lol
anyway, technically theres nothing that needs to be done to "unlock" a sprint phone to use on verizon, but as a matter of policy verizon wont activated devices from a different network
well i have been told by several people that i have to unlock it. one of them actually use to work for verizon. but no that is not my friend lol.
Verizon checks the phone esn which is the cell phone equivalent of a vehicle's vin. They only allow their own phones on their network. There is no "unlock" needed, they simply won't do it and beyond faking the esn which is illegal, there is nothing you can do to get them to activate it.
actually there is a way, and some verizon reps also add esn to their bases, and yes you need a unlock code which only sprint will give, with which you can change some things, but i dont have detailed info, but ppcgeeks has some more info on it.
if you mean the MSL number you can get that using getSPC (although im not sure it would even be needed) but it still doesnt matter as its unlikely your going to get VZW to activate the phone unless you have a friend who can add the ESN, as a matter of policy they wont do it
So bottom line, can I or can I not do this. Is it impossible or what? . .
If so I am just going to sell this brand new phone and buy a verizon one.
I had an Evo connected to my boyfriends account which is now suspened and now I have my own account using a samsung moment Sprint wont let me swap phones until the account is no longer suspended I have the msl codes cdma workshop and tried using sprint website to change it but no luck what do i need to change in the phone is there a code that lets you edit the esn hex or dec number these are not stolen by the way I have the msl codes and account passwords everything Pleaseeee HELP Me get my evo back I really dont want to have to use this Moment
Had a similar occurrence happen. Just call them and tell them that you bought the phone on craigslist and the ESN isnt clear. If you get a nice rep they'll take care of it.
Thnx but I tried that will try again right now though it couldn't hurt
Yeah, really dependant on the rep...
Hey guys, I'm new to the G1. I just picked a used one up the other day to use over seas. I reset the phone not knowing I need a SIM in there to actually use it. I don't have access to a SIM card currently, but I will have one when I go over seas. Will the phone unlock so I can root it with a SIM card from a different carrier? Or do I need to have a TMobile one in there? My plan leaves tomorrow early morning, so I'm kind of in a bind when it comes to solving my phone issues.

Oops, I thought I posted in General.
The sim card from n e where will work for the rooting process so don't stress that. These instructions will get u n to the phone with out the sim card. http://theunlockr.com/2010/01/10/how-to-activate-the-g1-without-a-data-plan-or-sim-card/
Good luck!

If the phone is locked , you need to get it unlocked first....otherwise it wont use any other network sim other than t-mobile.
The easiest way to unlock it is to call t-mobile and ask them for unlock code by giving them IMEI number of the phone (can be found in the MENU--->SETTINGS---->ABOUT PHONE----->IMEI NUMBER)
They provide the unlock code for free.
Once you have it unlocked, then whatever sim you insert, you will be asked to enter the unlock code. Enter that code and phone will start using that sim.
If you dont get it unlocked here from T-mobile then get it unlocked from the country where you are going...but the charges and success rate of unlocking depends on which country you are going to.....it is very easy and cheap in South Asia like India and Pakistan.....but difficult in Middle East.....
So the best alternative might be to buy a cheap GSM phone there and sell it when you return here.
Have a happy and safe journey
Thanks for the help everyone. Unfortunately, Tmobile couldn't give me an unlock code since I'm not their customer. I've got some more digging to do. I came across some sites offering the code for a fee, are they legit? I just don't understand how they get the code when I can't.
Go to ebay and buy it. for abt $6.49, they will give the code to you. I unlocked mine via ebay... Try any seller.
Based on timezone, buy from US seller or your local seller to get it quick.
Like for US try http://cgi.ebay.com/UNLOCK-CODE-T-M...025?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e5f205f99
Make sure u provide them your IMEI code.. dial *#06# Or look under battery.
Hi everyone,
I currently have a T-Mobile locked G1 which I got from a friend a while ago, and now my primary phone is broken. I would like to use the G1 for now, but upon booting with the AT&T SIM card inserted I am prompted for an unlock code. I called T-Mobile to get the unlock code and they told me that I have to be a customer to get the unlock code, but that any T-Mobile customer could call in for me and get the code.
If anyone with T-Mobile would be willing to phone in to T-Mobile for me with the IMEI and get the unlock code for me, I would be extremely grateful. I can also send you a few bucks via paypal if you like for the assistance.
i understand where you are coming from but actually its not that any Tmo customer can get it unlocked its actually the phone needs to be used at least for a few calls on that customers acct. I work for Tmo so have come across this a time or two. You may try and Google Search it a bit or look in the forums and see if there is any unlocks that carrier unlock in the G1 forum or maybe a website online that would get you that unlock code..

Alright, I appreciate the help anyway. The rep I talked to said any TMo customer could do it, or she could give me the number to Google and see if they can help, so I guess I'll try that. Thanks.
Ok so I'm in tmobile prepaid.
I have a galaxy s10e that is was purchased full price from someone else. We verified everything at a tmobile store. The unlock was approved and i got the email approval. The tmobile device unlock app for this phone doesn't work. So I have to go to settings>network>more>network unlock
Or something like that. I get an error message that ends in 0x86
On both temp and perm unlock
I already went through it with tech support 17 diff calls. Nothing. Nobody knows what this error is. Ine tech guy gave me two sets of numbers. Both 8 digits. I believe these are the nck or unlock codes but my question or rather what I need help in is inputting these codes. I tried the generic ones I found online to no avail. The dial codes is what I'm talking about. Also when I reset with unlocked rom it still says to put tmobile sim. And doesn't give me a option to input unlock code that I have
I even called Samsung and they cant help me bc it's a tmobile phone. Tmobile doesn't know how to input the code when I do mention it. And yes I reset the phone put a diff sim. Tried with Abd w/o wifi. Everything.
So now I flashed the U1 rom on it amd the unlock options in the network settings is no longer there. Obviously bc u flashed the unlocked rom on it.
Any suggestions? Tmobile is giving me minimal help bc I'm a prepaid customer
