Hello. Few days ago, my phone suddenly stop auto sync programs such as Gmail, Facebook etc.. If a new mail comes, i have to open Gmail and pull it down to refresh, otherwise no notifications will appear. I have try few things but none of them worked. Auto sync is on, i try on/off from the widget, wipe cache/dalvik from recovery, remove and add again the programs into auto sync in settings, clear data/cache from each program from android apps and with titanium backup, i double checked their settings in the app and everywhere auto sync is on. Also, notifications are all enabled. Any ideas ? i am using Maximus ROM.

I performed a master reset of my phone yesterday. After getting everything set back up I have noticed that i keep getting a phone book syncing icon in my notification bar (it comes and goes). Before doing the master reset i never had this icon come on. I have always synced my contacts through google sync in the settings menu. Is the syncing icon coming on every now and then normal?
I have a Samsung Focus with Mango installed. On a recent trip, in an effort to conserve battery, I turned off most of the background tasks (settings > applications > background tasks).
To try to turn them back on, I went back to that location and checked the box "Turn background tasks back on for this app the next time I open it". I then went to the app, opened it, but was not asked to turn background task on.
Does anyone know how to properly re-activate background tasks for particular apps?
Try pin the apps and also open the apps and see if there is a second push option. If so turn that on. If that doesn work, uninstall andre install.
I had the same issue with the BBC app as well as groupon. Once I reinstalled one I pinned and refreshed.
The app should itself have a setting to enable or disable the background agent; manually re-enabling it should work.
By the way, for future reference you can easily disable background agents temporarily by putting the phone in Battery Saver mode. This also disables automatic email syncing (another huge battery user) though you can still manually sync.
I'm guessing this is a bug with the Samsung calendar. I've been using the Google calendar since I've had an Epic Touch (S2) and had this issue on that phone also. After installing the Google calendar, I disable the Samsung calendar by going to Settings -> Set alerts & notifications -> Off. The problem with this is that every time I reboot, the setting resets to "Status bar notification". Because of this I end up with double notifications. Is there any way to make this setting stick? I'm thinking I probably need to uninstall the Samsung calendar or have a script run at boot (Tasker?).

Click to collapse
You can go into settings - application manager - then disable calendar
or
just use root browser and change the touchwiz calendar SJFKDL.bak
I knew it had to be something simple. Didn't even think to look in the application manager. There is a check box for Show Notifications. Unchecked it and no more double notifications. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
This isn't a permanent fix unfortunately! I'm having the same trouble and every morning or throughout the day I have to repeat that process and it doesn't stay disabled. Please advise ASAP
Hello,
I have some issues with calendar synchronization. When I go to settings/accounts/Google I have checked calendar sync but unlike other elements even when untick and tick again, spinning arrows appear, spin few seconds and then stop spinning but don't disappear. Other syncing elements work fine, spinning arrows disappear. I have no exclamation mark saying there is a syncing problem.
Cleares cahes of all possible apps. Even installed google calendar to eliminate stock calendar issue. Reset didn't help.
Calendar data is synchronizing light fast on one device. If I create or delete an event on a phone it appears on widget instantly, but not on the other device. I have to manually force sync on other to get it show
Reset
Try to reboot device (clear all data in phone storage) and sign in to google account. Maybe it will work !: :смущенный:
Hello,
Since when has facebook been integrated into the os system. I'm pretty sure its only since oreo 8.0.
I have a problem with a notification showing on my facebook, I have no new notifications and this will not go away. Its annoying
Went to uninstall facebook and messenger to find out it only rolls back the update to factory installed app. What the hell??
I don't want his on my phone, I want a clean uninstall and reinstall of the app.
Factory installed app is exactly that. It is held in a part of the memory that cannot be modified so the app is as pure as the day it was flashed. To remove it permanently means rooting the phone.
You can disable the app in settings/apps once it has been cleared to default.
Also you should be able to swipe the notification and permanently exclude them from showing. If not then go to settings - apps - Facebook and disable its permissions.
If the notification is one of those dots on the icon then the problem is with sense home. Clear its cache and it should be OK.
