White Back Cover - Grubby? - Galaxy Note 3 General

Hi,
Really busy in work so apologies if this has been asked already!!
I am not sure whether to get the Black or White Version when I upgrade. I would like the white but am concerned that the leathery backing will get grubby and dirty....anyone advise?
Cheers,
Tony...

Had my white version since the first few days of january. Not had a single dirt related problem.
I still need to get a case.. it just feels so nice to hold! Haha

I have a white note 3. Im not using a case. It doesnt catch dirt very easily, and if it does, its very easy to wipe off. Mine still looks brand new... its been 4 months already.

I'm curious if some aftermarket company will make available the new s5 back cover for note 3. That would be great

hi, i have both covers.. black and the white one. The black cover has a much better feel to (softer and feels more leathery like,) White feels much harder and "placticy" and does pick up dirt smudges if you are not carefull. But its your choice.
note8.0 for xda

Saw a grungy-lookin' white Note 3 today but the owner was using an S-View cover.

I am a Mechanic and use my white phone at work with dirty hands. Most marks come off with an alcoholic wipe, but there are one or two small black marks on the back cover in the groove of the wrinkle leather effect thank I can't seem to wipe clean. Only very small marks but if you stare at the back a while you'll see them.

The black has a more leathery look and feel. The white can catch dirt in the fake stitching that can be a hassle to get out.

Have you tried using a cotton swap with denaturated alcohol on it? Just dip it in to soak it, hold it onto the black marks for a few seconds and brush it off. You can get the denaturated alcohol in any drugstore. (Advice to anyone) You may need to scrub it a bit.

My S has come off the back cover somehow haha. My phone was in my bag whilst cycling to work.

One trick I always use to clean dirts on my white note is using a pencil eraser. Works like a charm.

I personally prefer the white one and the black faux leather cover gets sticky after some time especially with sweat. I also got a red back cover from eBay.

Battery cover mod

So I did a little experiment last night with my battery cover. It went great. I managed to maintain a mostly stock look and added a lot of tackiness so it has more of a rubbery texture to it.
I used this clear coat, about 5 anywhere.

I only did 2 coats so it wouldnt add to much thickness. I waited about 2 hours between. I did not sand or do any kind of prep work other than clean it.
Here is how it looks next to a stock cover.
Mine is on the right. Hope this helps everyone that wants to maintain a semi stock look with a lot better feel. As far as protection goes...... yea, I doubt it offers any at all. But I like it.
Please, if u attempt this, remove the cover from the phone first. I know this may seem silly, but there are those type of people out there.

Lmao. I actually dealt with it for a couple hours while it was drying.
I've been KANGBANGED!!!!!
Just a quick update, I guess that particular clear is very temperature sensitive, that being said it pretty much melted and stuff was getting stuck to it. So I now have a completely sanded down back cover, looks nice and still easier to hold than the stock cover
I've been KANGBANGED!!!!!
looks really good!
put a picture up of your sanded battery cover?
I did your mod the other day using the clear coat for plastic got some of it at OSH applied 2 coats came out great, no sanding just cleaned cover with some alcohol and paper towel. It covered up all the scratches. first day was slippery but its good now.

I still want to sand it again just to.make it even. But I live the way it feels now.

Maybe try plasti-dip? that will tolerate the heat well.

I just sanded and painted mine yellow with the same paint I use for my xbox stuff, im satisfied.

No going to make it.
I called and the person on the phone said they won't be making the case. Hope they are wrong.
I had emailed them on thursday or friday and receive a quick reply back stating that it isnt available yet but to keep checking back on the website because it is updated first.
Ok great i figured the guy i talked to really don't know what was going on.
According the the website, they are NOW SHIPPING in BLACK.
And i just contacting them and as the website says, IN STOCK.
I just received my combo case.. It's very nice, the purple(amethyst) is shipping now also...
I just received this case in the mail. Any tips on how to remove this thing?
I had to basically destroy mine to get it off. Its an awesome case if you never want to remove it...

No need to be so dramatic...
It IS basically impossible to remove without tools, but pretty easy with a little help.
I used a razor blade to carefully lift the bottom piece of the shell up so it would release the latch from the top piece (without doing ANY damage to the phone or case). Next time I need to get it off, I think I'm going to try a thin guitar pick, since I won't have to be so carefull with those rounded edges...
I'll let ya'll know how it goes.
EDIT:
I think I like the tight fit on my phone, but for those of you who anticipate having to get at the sim, sd, and battery often - you might think about putting a piece of scotch tape between the two halves of the shell. The case will still hold on pretty well, but you won't have ANY problem getting it apart without tools in a hurry...

Possible to remove bubbles from the Spigen glas t slim?

Hey guys. I was wondering if anybody has had luck removing bubbles from the glas t slim screen protector on the S4. I don''t think they are air bubbles. It looks like I have something under the screen protector. The odd thing is that this part of the phone didn't have any lint, and i used scotch tape to make sure. Now I was under the impression that the screen protector shouldn't come off.. Would it be okay to take a little bit of it off and try to remove the bubble, or will that mess up the adhesive? Keep in mind i just put it on today so it could resolve over a couple days. I don't have a pic of the exact bubble, but here is what it looks like, but smaller:

Those look like spider cracks under the glass not sure what happened if u removed it to get it out mite not stick back on the glass screen protectors r tricky to reapply

I had a similar smudge. If you search the web you will find lot's of comments like above that they don't recommend removing the glass, as it may not stick when reapplying. But I took mine off last night, washed it under the sink, and then reapplied. The dirt is gone (the smudge), and seems to stick just fine.
If you use your finger nail under a corner, the screen will start to come off. Work it real slowly, and it will come off very easily. As for the cleaning, I never touched the sticky side of the protector. I just ran it under as much pressure as I could get out of my faucet and the dirt was washed away. I shook the protector (holding it by the edges) to get most of the water droplets off, then worked the rest of them out once the protector was back on the phone.
The screen is perfectly clean now. It takes a bit of time to work out all the bubbles (both air and water), but keep working them towards a side or corner and they will all come out.
^ hes right. When I had the glas t, I took it off too many times and just washed it. Lol. It will stick as long as you take it off without chipping the edge.

I was able to get the bubbles out! I applied pressure onto the areas surrounding the bubble to kind of readjust the adhesive. Took a while but worked out

It seems to only be on my phone. Not my SO's phone. You can feel the bottom lip definitely protruding further on mine. Any of you experience this? Solutions? Warranty? Live with it?

Just clean it with the pointy end of a thin sheet of paper. This happens with every phone I've ever owned.

Happened on every phone except the iPhone for me. Just use the corner of a thin sheet of paper to get it out.

The same thing has been bothering me a lot as well. Usually if I wipe it down with a microfiber most of it goes away but there are still similar specs to the ones in your picture. I just tried using paper and it didn't work too well. I ordered a small pack of the cyber putty, I think that should work better. @rootSU do you think the small 2.6 oz bag will be enough to clean a keyboard as well?
Toothbrush / Paint brush does the trick for me each time!

I can't say to be honest, I haven't used it with a screen protector. I doubt it but don't take my word for it.

yes, sorry was using my phone and mixed up usernames. Thanks for the answer.

Frame paint quality finish.

I've read a few posts on various forums about some folks having issues with the frame of the phone developing scuffs and marks even though they have been cased. I'd like to think that perhaps sand or particles got inside case and caused it via abrasion.
For those that have theirs , hows the frame area holding up?
Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
No its def a cheap finish....i baby my phone and its scuffed ...looks kinda like swirling on paint of a car ....ive had other phones with same finish hold up wayyy longer.

Yeah, I read some threads on the oneplus community forums about the nebula blue in particular having defects on the aluminum frame out of the box. Also using a case causes abrasion wears on the paint of the frame.
Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
Yea i have the gray or whatever color that is....and i can see how my case would do that. I have that oneplus carbon fiber looking case tmobile sells. Its tight... Which is good i like tight ? anyway the metal frame around phone does scratch more then any other phone i had. And i have had a lot of phones. Actually it reminds me of my s2 when i had that. (Same finish on frame) ......Just cheap looking and its ashame because the rest of the device is beautiful.
Only one little slight scrape on the bottom right of the frame. Seems to have held up fine for me so far though I still miss the titanium frame of my Essential.
Yeah I have a quite badly scratched and scuffed frame also. I've had it in a case since day one so don't know how it's happened, must be bits of dust or dirt scratching it. It seems a very soft material. Annoying as it ryins the resale value.
Sent from my GM1913 using Tapatalk
I just pulled off my case to check mine. I have the 12/256 Nebula blue and I have no scuffs or swirl marks as of yet and I got mine on launch day. Hope it stays that way (more so for resale value)
Just took off my case (which I have done a lot and this is my tightest case) and I don't have any scuffs. Even my camera at the top that's always exposed looks fine. I've got a t-mobile nebula blue I've had from launch. We'll see if it stays that way I guess.
Edit: there is some scuffs around the charging port but I guess that'd make sense since I have bad aim.
