When you launch APP Lock for the first time, you’ll be asked to choose a passcode or pattern that will be required to open APP Lock and any secured applications. 5.Screen Filter Android Widget, Advanced Brightness Control
Posted on Jun 11, 2011 in Tools, Top Rated Widgets | 1 comment
The Screen Filter Android widget lets you apply a brightness shade to your Android device’s screen.
Version: 1.2
Size: 52.75KB
Category: Tools
Price: Free
Reduce your screen’s brightness more effectively with the Screen Filter Android widget than you’d previously done with the default Android options. The brightness reduction is perfect for nighttime viewing, eBook reading, or for just saving battery.
Long-press your Android homescreen to find and create a new Screen Filter widget. When the customization options popup, use the slider to set the desired brightness level. The default, 48.6%, is a nice compromise between functionality and visibility. Use the example text to decide which setting is best for your needs. Additionally, there is an option to toggle the backlighting of soft-keys (menu, home, back, search). Unfortunately, the developer states that this feature doesn’t work for all Android devices (and didn’t consistently work on my Samsung Galaxy S phone).
For those of you who also use the Tasker or Locale Android apps, you’ll be happy to know this widget includes a plugin allowing you to enable brightness configurations based on time, location, etc.
If you think this post helps at least few people ..then few more updates will added regularly
6 Helpful Android Shopping Apps Information
1. ToMarket Grocery Shopping
If you’re the type of person who keeps on forgetting to buy something after you’ve left the grocery, then this app is for you. ToMarket helps you list everything down before you head out. You can create your list by typing it directly in your phone, by uploading a CSV file, or by voice command. Everything is customizable; you can arrange items by category, and even by aisle depending on the store you’ve filtered. Moreover, it has a barcode scanner, a to-do list, and a coupon tracker. If you want to share your list via email or SMS
2. ShopSavvy
ShopSavvy is marketed as “the original barcode scanner for Android”, but it’s definitely more than that. If you want the best price for certain item, just type in the keyword or scan the barcode, and you’ll get a roster of online and brick-and-mortar places within your vicinity that sells it, as well as how it’s priced in each store. You can check out reviews to help you with your purchase, or you can add products you like to your wish list and monitor price changes. ShopSavvy also saves your history for later browsing, and is integrated with Facebook and Twitter. It’s a pretty good app for canvasing and casual shopping
3. Milo Local Shopping
You have probably experienced going to the mall only to find that what you wanted to buy was out-of-stock. Milo can help you avoid that hassle by giving you access to store shelves in your vicinity. Enter your keyword and the app will pull up nearby stores, and the number of stocks of the item you need. You’ll also get to compare prices so you know where you can get the best deal. Currently, it only works in the US, but we hope that they have plans of going international soon.
4. Shopkick
Shopkick is a geolocation-based app with a spin – not to mention freebies. Here’s how it works: once you walk in a partner store (like Target), the app recognizes where you are and immediately gives you “kickbucks”, which are reward points you need to accumulate in order to redeem your gift cards or Facebook Credits. The nice thing about is that you can redeem anywhere, so you don’t worry about searching for a faraway store branch just to get your freebies.
5. Google Catalogs
Google Catalogs is another great addition to the company’s wide array of applications. Designed specifically for tablets, it offers you hundreds of catalogs to browse through, lets you shop without leaving the app, and gives you the option to share the items you find interesting with friends via email. It’s under continuous development, so we can be sure that more catalogs will be added soon.
6. Egg Drop
Even if there are tons of shopping apps out there, Egg Drop manages to differentiate itself by focusing not just on what stores have for sale, but on what your neighbors have for sale. Everything works in real time, and should you have any questions, you can talk with the seller with the in-app messager. Planning to sell something? You can instantly upload a photo of your item as well as its price and you’re ready to go. It’s almost like Craiglist, only more functional, and it’s pretty nifty when it comes to searching for the best deals around. If you’re interested in online shopping but can’t stay put scanning auction sites all day long, then this app is for you.

AppAware is another way to discover those types of apps. The crowdsourcing app tracks what has become popular on the Android Market within a given timeframe, which provides a quick snapshot of what others are downloading.
AppAware narrows popular apps to within a week, day, or hour. As people begin to download Digg.com or Trapster, AppAware lists those as popular things that you may be interested in seeing. Users are then linked to Android Market entries for more information and download links. Most important of all is the “Installed by Me” feature that narrows listings by your location. This allows users to see apps popular by Android users in their community, making it easier to discover hyperlocal apps and filter out things that may be popular elsewhere but are useless to you (like Orkut).
KEY FEATURES
The “Top removed apps in the last hour” may also help determine what might be worth skipping (not always an indicator of poor apps, but can help you make decisions).
Offers popular Android Market listings based on time period or location

Because the menus are predetermined/fixed, there is no worry about spam or harassment, just raw updates.
This app is in no way a privacy concern as it only sends numerical values to the VVS server that can only be downloaded by others as raw data. That in no way identifies you or the device using the Status app (Except for your country code. But you are another person out of millions in the same country). Other users will only see the update type, country, and time.
As more people use the app, your world will feel more open as you will see constant action around you.
When the application is shut down it instantly de-activates updates for itself and kills your unique key.
Visit VVS Sites (http://www.valevarkasystems.com/sites/android/) for more information and download date.
Features:
- Back button kills/shuts down the application, home button keeps the app alive
- Multitasking; stays open when you hit your home button, or open other apps
- Icon displays in the notification bar when the program starts running and hides on program close
- No advertising
- Simple design; one page layout
- Only sends pre-programmed, numerical data to the server. No unique information identifies you.
Live Stream
There have been more additions to the stream. Once again, the more people that use it, the better. This application relies on user-generated content.
Steady Increase
The number of status updates are continuously increasing.

Hello everyone, after a long time testing I would like to introduce my SpyVisio app in the hope that you find it useful.
SpyVisio is a sort of swiss army knife of the remote surveillance and device safety. This lightweight and compact app encloses a set of functions that can transform your phone into a powerful instrument of control (webcam, ipcam, motion and sound detector, DVR, home alarm, video surveillance, anti-theft, GPS tracks locator, sms interceptor).
Here are some examples of SpyVisio applications:
Baby monitor
When the baby wakes up and begins to move or cry, SpyVisio can:
- Play a song, ring tone, a lullaby or any pre-recorded vocal message with your own voice
- Call another phone
- Send a text message
- Send an email
In addition, at any time you can call SpyVisio and listen to what is happening or access it through internet and see the images taken by its camera. All events are stored in the device memory and may be consulted at any time (even remotely).
Home security system
Place one or more SpyVisio devices in the environment being controlled. In case of suspicious noises or movements you will be notified on your control phone and you could take countermeasures. SpyVisio can also sound an alarm and operate as a DVR. The images taken by its camera can be viewed in real time remotely through a standard internet browser.
Car protection
Someone likes to scratch or harm your car? Just put SpyVisio suitably hidden in the passenger compartment and it will record all suspicious movements taking place around.
Phone theft
If someone steals your device, then you can use some special SpyVisio functions to track down the thief:
- In case of SIM replacement an SMS will be sent to your control phone with information about the new SIM card and the new phone number
- By issuing SMS commands to SpyVisio you can get information on demand about the ingoing/outgoing calls & messages or the GPS locations of the last 24 hours and try to get emails with pictures of those who are using the phone.
Anti-curious phone
With phone in Stealth mode, its screen turns off but all alarm functions are still active; if someone approaches your phone it can sound an alarm, take photographs of him and prevent access to other applications, ensuring maximum privacy. SpyVisio prevents anyone from using your phone without your knowledge and so you can leave it around without too many worries.
Secret investigator
Do you want to know where someone dear to you has spent the day? SpyVisio can store the tracks of the movements made in the last 24 hours and you can read them individually, or view the entire path with Google Maps or Google Earth. Every message sent or received from SpyVisio phone can also be repeated automatically to another phone (control phone). Do you want to know if in your absence something strange happens in your house? Just put SpyVisio in the room you want to check and it will record everything that is moving or making noise.
All feedback is welcome, so please let me know what you think of the app! Since the app is released for free on Play store you can, if you want, try it and post about it wherever you like!

This sounds like a nice app. I wish I could use this with my tablet, but google play says only my phone can use it. It's a Dell Venue 8 with GPS, but wifi only model. Any chance you can make it available to tablets with gps? The baby monitoring sounds great. Thanks for the request!
Can this work on galaxy tab 3 7.0 running 4.1.2? Google play won't let me download.
Thanks,

Hi all,
I'm an indie Android developer and recently with other indies we decide build our SDK to help each other to promote our apps and games.
The main idea is to give more impressions to new apps and games in the first 30 days to get them in ranking.
We are going to give 60% of our impressions to new apps and games and 40% to old ones.
Here's the rules to partecipate:
We are going to review the app or game of the developer who want to partecipate (No junk, no push notifications, no aggressive advertising)
We don't balance impressions, clicks or installs because we believe we should grow together. Anyway we track them using Google Analytics.
We have an empty slow for new apps/games every 10 days. We split 60% of impressions giving 30% to apps/games with less than 10 days, 20% to apps/games between 10 and 20 days and 10% to apps/games between 20 and 30 days.
Any app/game should keep the SDK at least for 3 months (We'd like you keep it to help everyone).
We use 2 type of ads : A Modal and an AppWall and we show them 50%-50%. We support portrait and landscape orientation.
We show ads in a consistent way onload. We show it once a day skipping the first run.
Our SDK support Unity.
Permissions required are : ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE and INTERNET to download the ads.
We have 2 servers at the moment hosting a json file and images and icons. We load balance on them.
I attached a couple of screenshot of the AppWall and Modal we show.
This is a completelly free service!
If you want to join us send me an email with a link to the app/game you want to promote to [email protected]
