what is the source of Mahdi-Rom 2.5? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys
I am a new user for Nexus 5 which is also my first Android device.
Can anyone tell me what is the source of Mahdi-Rom?
Can I flash Franco kernel for this ROM? I noticed the the Franco kernel is not compatible with CM sources. So I want to confirm the source of Mahdi-Rom in case it is from CM source.

Pls help :banghead:

I believe it's ASOP base but has some CM aspects.
Either way if you check the 5th post of the Franco kernel FAQ thread it lists Mahdi-rom as supported

[Q] BLN not working on InstigatorX kernel and CM Kernel

Hi guys,
I've been playing with official CM roms lately, and I had the 6/21 nightly with BLN working. Then I flashed InstigatorX's kernel (claiming to have working BLN) and my BLN didn't work. I tried to go back to the CM kernel by reflashing CM (except this time it was the 6/26 nightly). Although I was on the official CM kernel, which previously had BLN working, this one did not. Once again I flashed a new, updated version of InstigatorX's kernel and BLN still doesn't work and BLN Control claims that I have an unsupported kernel. And yes, I have all of the BLN checkboxes checked off in the CM9 settings menu (under "Advanced" aka Galaxy S2 Settings).
How should I go about fixing my BLN? Has anyone else had any similar problems?
Thanks!
P.S. I would have posted on InstigatorX's kernel post but I don't have enough posts.
Read both changelogs. Been disabled and re-enabled on both.

Trinity kernel with Nexus 5.

Installed trinity kernel 4.4 on my nexus 5 using stock ROM. Things worked great. Flashed CM 11 and now the 4.4 and 4.4.1 trinity kernels put the phone in a bootloop. Are these kernels not compatible with CM11? Am rooted, running TWRP 2.6.3.4, and am running the CM 11 20131207 nightly. Thanks for any info.

no, most custom kernels arent compatible with cm, unless they are cm based. cm moved away from aosp, and are using qualcomms source. most the custom kernels are aosp based. trinity is aosp based, and not willing to cater to cm. unless cm goes back to aosp, trinity wont support cm.
Thank you very much for your info and I understand totally. Still running trinity on my gnex and nexus 7(2012). Runs awesome on both and I love the trinity features on my gnex. Thanks again for your quick reply and info. Have a good one!

Nexus 5 community has this
No need to build a kernel yourself.

So make your choice between CAF and AOSP.
best thing you can do is
build your own kernel(ask them what they used/changed)
or
try alternative CAF kernels
or
wait till the devs do it themselves.
You cant rush genius.
its just that only if someone could make a test build with those 2 cherrypicks

COS 12.1 with CAF kernel.

I'm looking for a stock cos12.1 rom with CAF kernel. I like the roms with CAF kernel but I don't want to loose the cos12.1 stock apps like boxer (with exchange support) and other apps. Is there a rom like this?

I'm pretty sure there isn't such a ROM, but check my index thread in the general section, I could be wrong.

There is currently no COS ROM that uses Sultanxda's CAF trees. The closest thing to that would be downloading one of Sultan's latest CM12.1 nightlies and adding ported apps and zips yourself. (there are quite a few around xda and google).

Any OC kernel for 6045O.....?

Currently with CM based 5.1.1....... thanks for suggestion
Check the build threads in android development, most of those devs have repository's with custom kernels.
Mm source just came out too, new custom kernels soon
