Hi guys,
I've been playing with official CM roms lately, and I had the 6/21 nightly with BLN working. Then I flashed InstigatorX's kernel (claiming to have working BLN) and my BLN didn't work. I tried to go back to the CM kernel by reflashing CM (except this time it was the 6/26 nightly). Although I was on the official CM kernel, which previously had BLN working, this one did not. Once again I flashed a new, updated version of InstigatorX's kernel and BLN still doesn't work and BLN Control claims that I have an unsupported kernel. And yes, I have all of the BLN checkboxes checked off in the CM9 settings menu (under "Advanced" aka Galaxy S2 Settings).
How should I go about fixing my BLN? Has anyone else had any similar problems?
Thanks!
P.S. I would have posted on InstigatorX's kernel post but I don't have enough posts.
Read both changelogs. Been disabled and re-enabled on both.

Anyone try it on skyrocket? Any issues?
Should I still use our cm7 kernel or just flash his rom?
It should work for us but if you use our kernel then you probably won't see all the bug fixes that he's made. If you use his kernel then you won't have working auto rotation.

I can't seem to get voodoo sound to run on stock AOKP M5 with stock kernel.
I bought the voodoo sound plus, but when i load the driver i get a ''voodoo sound driver loading error''.
I'm rooted and it has the correct permissions etc.
Anyone have any success with this?
Perhaps the stock kernel doesn't have voodoo settings? Not really sure. The first thing I do is flash a kernel and voodoo everything is working fine for me.

Yes but i thought the whole point of the paid version of voodoo is that it loads the necessary drivers into the kernel :S
Doesn't AOKP on our phones have Pete's kernel as stock? I thought one of our members had the module loaded for Voodoo with Petes kernel.

No idea about the kernel, but definitely not working :/
Bumping this as i'm desperate.
AFAIK, voodoo module only loads on stock ICS kernel, not pete's. But check his thread in development, I remember there was a debate about it some time ago, don't know what was the conclusion.
Although if you're a fan of a stockish kernel, load up SimpleKernel from terryhau, it's built from stock ICS sources and has Voodoo & BLN added.
READ BEFORE FLASHING
This is for use on SGH-T989 ROMs, mainly for unlocked users running a T-Mobile sim who want the full T-Mobile experience (such as Wifi Calling, ect)
If you are like me and unlocked your AT&T Skyrocket for use on T-Mobile, you probably want a T-Mobile native ROM. The problem is when you flash a kernel designed for the SGH-T989, your orientation gets messed up.
If you flash a SGH-I727 ICS Kernel over the SGH-T989 ROM, your orientation works properly again, but your camera may stop working, and your HW Accelerated videos (such as YouTube) may invert their colors.
The SGH-T989 kernels work perfectly on our devices with a SGH-T989 rom, with the exception of the orientation issue.
This kernel is a modification to faux123's great ICS SGH-T989 kernel, simply to restore proper orientation sensor values on our I727 device.
This should allow you to enjoy a SGH-T989 ROM with proper orientation, working camera, and normal colors on videos.
However, this was only tested with the SGH-T989 UVLE1 Infamous Resurrection ROM (v1.0). If you find any issues I may have missed please let me know (preferably with a dmesg and logcat), and I will try to fix them.
If this kernel has helped you, please hit thanks. Also be sure to thank faux in his thread.
If you want to donate, donate to faux. I'm not accepting donations for this kernel, as it is just a few patches to his hard work.
Version History:
zefie-mod-v001 (git-c7f41c504cea05d18fe02b45d9ec590676eb2803)
Based off of faux123's SGH-T989 ICS v011 kernel (including OC)
Orientation patched for SGH-I727
Hardware acceleration working
Both cameras working
Volume pre-amp boosted (from SGH-T989 defaults to SGH-I727 defaults)
Boot animation support
Enabled additional governors: brazilianwax, intellidemand, lulzactive (ondemand is default)

Sorry, its not a 'file', but a patch to the kernel code, so you will need to flash the kernel I posted. The kernel should work on any Samsung Based T989 ROM.
Will it work with SKY ICS?

This is meant for I727 owners who have unlocked their devices to use on T-Mobile, and want a T-Mobile (SGH-T989) ROM for native T-Mobile features such as Wifi Calling. It is not supported for SGH-I727 native ROMs. It may or may not work, but I will not patch issues related to I727 based ROMs.

zefie thank you really for doing this kernel or modifiend it as im using this kernel with the rom that you have on your signature and a Telus Modem for t899d(something like that) and my phone was hitting almost 10mb down and 1mb-2mb upload.

SimplyCM10.1-v1 Kernel
These kernels are basically the stock versions of the CyanogenMod 10 and 10.1 Linux kernels, with the addition of Voodoo Sound and optional Voodoo Color. I've also added a few minor patches to get it to compile with the Linaro 12.09 GCC 4.7.2 13.06 GCC 4.7.4 compiler, which is supposed to make it faster. It uses my new AnyKernelEpic method of flashing, so it doesn't affect the ram disk your rom uses to boot, meaning this can be flashed to a wider varity of roms. For example, the CM kernel doesn't always change when a new nightly comes out, so this will still be flashable to new nightlys without me having to rebuilt it and you having to redownload it. This is also could work on CM9 / MIUI / AOKP / etc, but this is a 3.x kernel and I haven't tested it on any of those, so try at your own risk.
Look's like this isn't likely to boot on any roms other than Cyanogenmod 10 due to a recent change in the display driver there. See this post.

I used to be a big fan of it on ICS and earlier, but stock color looks much nicer on JB to me for some reason so I don't really feel the need for Voodoo Color.

I don't think its possible right now for one kernel to work with either modem, so I would have to maintain two branches for that. Since I only use the stock modem, I wouldn't be able to test it so that probably wouldn't end well.

Great work, thank you!
I'd love to try this one but I'm waiting for voodoo color. The other CM10 Kernel here just causes my phone to lockup. I'm hoping one of these Kernel's will eventually work for me!

If there is a SimplyCM10 Kernel version with Voodoo Color in the future, could there please be one without? I can't stand Voodoo Color, personally.
So I Odined FC09, flashed ACSRecovery5-1.0, to flash CM-9.1.0, & I flahed SimplyCM10 & everything seemed cool, but in the end it would not boot passed the Sammy/Cyan screen.

Here's your likely source of the problem... although it is stated in the OP that the kernel is not guaranteed to work with CM9.

Once I was using CM-9.1.0 my recovery was CWM6. I only used ACSRecovery because it works for me when I Odin.

Is there another kernel that is better for CM10.1?

Correct. In Rohan's kernel thread a few pages back from the last page there is a test kernel that is compatible with CM10.1
Vanja's linaro kernel is also compatible.
Both can be found in the Original Android Development section.
