[Q] Samsung Galaxy S2 Beanstalk rom audio/video stops working - General Questions and Answers

I have been a Fan of Beanstalk rom 4.4.247 that was recently released...however, I have formatted/wiped the cache and did the clean installation of the ROM and still I have noticed that the Audio and video stops playing while the phone is off and playing in background....
Also, to add to it...I am also seeing the phone is getting heated with this custom rom...any fix for this...too...would really help
I tried other players and still nothing seems to work just that the audio stops playing... I can't post this as I am new this world of Beanstalk and need help in fixing the audio/video to continue using the custom roms and I really need to move from Stock to custom...however, some bugs like this changes my mind to goback though I am not intented to....
Please help me to fix the issue or let us know if anything I need to do to resolve this or need your advice...please help

[Q] Bluetooth Issue - All Jellybean ROMs - All Kernels

Can someone please help me with this. I really want to update to Jellybean but I have the most annoying bluetooth issue on every ROM I have tried.
I have tried all JB ROMs and standard Kernel and the Sultan Kernel. I have asked in a couple of the ROM threads but got no reply.
The issue is when I connect to my car it takes 5 seconds for the sound to transfer from the phone internal speaker to the bluetooth in my car.
Use my phone for work and can't wait 5 seconds in the car when I receive a call before I can hear the other end of the conversation.
It worked perfectly on my old ICS ROM.
Anyone encounter this or know how to fix it?
Thanks a million for help!
turn your phone s-off if u ain't.

It could be a device incompatibility with the blue tooth receiver.
There are a few devices that just don't work right with the JB roms even though bluetooth does work. For instance on both Bruce's ROM and the offical CM10 rom, I don't have this problem. So it CAN work. But like I said there ar enumerous people who have had issues that turned out to be some kind of issue with the device not communicating well with JB.
It could still be an issue with your phone though. Do you have any apps that might interfere with bluetooh like an automatic volume up app when blueooth connects or something like that? If so, delete all that stuff. See if the results improve.
Do you have another bluetooth device you can test it with? At lest we could narrow down if it's a reciver issue or a ROM issue.
Also try doing a fresh install after a full wipe. Then just boot it up and try it. Don't install anything else. Just see if you have the problem on a completely clean install. If you don't, you might have an app interference issue.

Hi thanks for replying.
I will try Bruce's ROM but the official CM10 ROM didn't work for me.
I don't have any apps that could be interfering as all I have done whilst testing this problem is do a full wipe, install the JB ROM and go and check the bluetooth.
I will check tonight if the issue exists on another bluetooth device and report back any problems.
Cheers

[rant] ROM that works completely?

Man I wish I were capable of cooking a ROM myself and stripping out the parts of other ROMs that work and compiling them together.
I'm on Sprint, xt897c CDMA, I've tried stock/rooted, CM10.1 stable, CM10.2 M snapshot, various CM10.x nightlies, and a couple of the latest PACman nightlies. Every single one of them has things working that others don't, and something not working that I can't live without:
Stock/rooted - need a good/easy way to wifi tether to my Nexus 7 tablet and laptop. Wifi tether app in the play store doesn't work like it does on other phones I've had. JB-style quick settings and notification widgets would be nice too, but mainly this is missing the wifi tether. I could live with it if it had that. However I really want to be running something CM-based...
CM10.1 - Everything runs great on the stable build - its fast, stable, has all the features I want, but there's a problem with the phone audio. My phone first and foremost needs a stable phone. There's a high-pitched whine/hiss in both the speaker and mic that makes phone calls annoy the far end, give me a headache, and makes speaker phone all but unusable. Its also there when recording videos and it stays with the video when its transferred off the phone.
CM10.2 - Same issue as above, plus it hangs on bootloader after the first reboot. Every version I've tried.
PACman - Phone calls sound great - no audio issues. All the features I want. But it's not stable. If I'm listening to music in Apollo and switch to Maps, Apollo just terminates (not FC, just closes like the memory manager killed it or something). Same thing with many other apps (Strava recording segments, etc.). Also the GPS lock is terrible or non-existent.
Ideally I'd like to solve the audio issue with CM10.1 or that and the reboot hang on 10.2. If anyone knows of fixes for these I'd be immensely grateful. I've seen others refer to them but no concrete confirmation or a fix mentioned...
/rant
Try Carbon, try AOKP... try Slimbean. What else... PA? I can't think of any others which have been ported to our device.
Try other ROM's, and I can assure you the ROM's will get better with time - although it's odd you have a high pitched whine in CM but not PAC. I've heard some report that whine, and I was under the impression that all the aftermarket/custom ROM's suffered from that issue.
Either way, CM11 is shaping up to be pretty solid - although I have had a few random reboots, not sure what the issue there was. Mostly when using Google Music in airplane mode/no service areas.
@cmags: As far as I was able to reproduce it, the high pitch whine/buzz was caused by MICBIAS CAPLESS Switch enabled and I've addressed this issue for CM-10.2 branch here: http://review.cyanogenmod.org/51949
I have no issues using speaker phone (I'm running cm-10.2 and cm-11.0 on my two Qs).
Regarding the noise in the high frequency range in camcorder recordings, I'm still not sure about the cause nor a solution for it. (I mean the pure noise, not the whine here).
Regarding the hang after first reboot, I'm not able to reproduce it and the logs from users I've seen so far were not very helpful.
I suspect that it may be caused by the timing of the mounting of internal partitions, but I'm not sure yet.
I'd welcome /proc/last_kmsg captured in recovery after such failed boot.
Thanks for the helpful replies fellas. @kabaldan I'll test out your latest branch and grab logs if I experience the issue.

The latest skrilax build of CM10.2 seems to have resolved the audio issue. I was even able to restore my CM10.1 nandroid, flash 10.2 over the top (along with new gapps) and keep my data/settings. Thanks guys for the help!

[Completed] Wifi problems in Cyanogen 12.1

To begin with, I'm a noob at these things. Somehow i managed to root my samsung galaxy grand and somehow I threw out Touchwiz(because lag) and somehow I installed the Cyanogen 12.1 for my phone. Now this thing has got a lot of bugs. Although some bugs don't actually bug me, there's this 'wifi shuts down on screen lock' bug that I would want to fix asap. I mean the wifi doesn't actually shut down but it's the connection that goes down. So if I'm downloading something, i need to keep the screen on. If there's no solution to this, please tell me how do i get touchwiz back? I'd prefer a little lag over a weak wifi connection. If possible please provide a Youtube link since I am still not familiar with a lot of terms .Thank You
Hi!
Can you specify the model number so I can point you in the right direction?
Thanks! :good:

Popping/crackling sound when playing media

Dear all!
Quick question for you guys.
I had my Galaxy S7 for nearly 2 years but only recently (past few weeks) it started making a very annoying popping/crackling sound when playing any sorts of media content both streamed or download. I did some research about this and unfortunately I haven't been able to find an answer. Some people mentioned an ARC app or Skype to be the culprit. Some others even say that it's the WiFi during standby that creates the problem. I honestly tried everything including factory reset, whole system reinstallation, safe mode etc but nothing works, the annoying popping sound still happens whenever I watch or listen to something and it can be heard from the speaker and wired earphones.
Anybody who's got any knowledge or has experienced the same problem could you please share your views/experiences as this is driving me mad?
Thank you in advance!
PS it doesn't seem to happen during phone calls...yet! At the moment running latest PHN firmware. All stock. Model G930F
i had same problem but only in android 6.x, on nougat all is fine
same probleme here i have stock nougat rom
Thanks for your feedback guys...I'm assuming it's the firmware's problem. I guess I'll wait for Oreo and see whether it gets fixed
