I installed Skype onto my rooted Galaxy SIII running 4.1.2 and ParanoidAndroid 2.56, my call quality is excellent through my cell line however trying to use Skype for video calls on my device leaves nothing but static on the other end. Even when I stay totally silent, the receiving line will not hear a peep but once I raise my voice, the white noise comes out to wreak havoc and does not stop until I mute the microphone in-call. Un-muting will only bring back the white noise. I can hear my caller just fine, but he cannot hear me. I have tried calling and receiving both ways through Wi-Fi, LTE and 3G connections to no avail.
I have also reset the dalvik cache and fixed permissions, in addition to disabling noise cancellation through the Call Settings on my phone. I'm running the kernel which came with my ROM, which I honestly cannot remember what it is. Would flashing another kernel help with a problem like this or would it only solve issues through my cell number's telephony? I have excellent call quality through my cell phone, but Skype itself leaves nothing but static even when I am not speaking. I would try to clean both my microphone holes on the bottom and the top if the static were to be on my cell telephony but it seems like it is only limited to Skype itself. I may try and back up my ROM through CWM recovery and wipe the system.
Anyone else experience an issue such as this and could give advice?
I use the Skype version found here:

I was having the same problem until I enabled Use MODE_IN_CALL found in the Sound Section of Advanced Settings. Hope this helps!
so recently I havent been able to use my voicemail because when i call it, it says i can enter this sweepstakes thing. So i got youmail a voicemail app that was giving me a voicemail that worked fine. Recently my phone doesn't redirect to youmail, when ANYONE calls they now get the sweepstakes junk. I've tried looking this problem up but can't find anything.
Edit: my rom is cyanogenmod 10.1 newest nightly. (the forwarding voicemail to youmail was working fine the other day while I was on the newest nightly.)
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
So I have tried with google voice and also t mobile visual voicemail. Neither work correctly. Tmobile doesn't even set up and while google voice sets up when a voicemail arrives I receive both the google voice and the regular phone voicemail. Any suggestions ?

If you're using one of the T-Mobile prepaid plans, I've seen in other forums where having T-Mobile turn off your T-Mobile voicemail fixes things. Check this out: http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/voice/gbReID1_dIo and see if that's what you're experiencing, maybe their fix will work. Just an idea.
I'm not on prepaid so I decide to delete the app and reinstall seems to have gone well now I have to leave a vM to see if the issues persist
I don't know about the Google Voice, but someone else on here posted a solution for getting TMo Visual Voicemail to work.

I initially couldn't get mine to run, but after I followed the instructions by B0xer, I was able to get Visual Voicemail started. In the end, he writes that you should install visual voicemail again, but I didn't need to. I just sent the sms, and then started the Visual Voicemail app, and all was fixed.
Since running latest viper Rom we have no verizon visual voicemail. I then setup Google voice as my voicemail and downloaded the app. Works fine but when listening to voicemails via the Google voice app, playback recordings are very low volume. Only thing I might have done different was install viper4android app.
I noticed the same thing when I tried using it on my evo 4g lte. I couldn't stand it so I went back to the stock one. I'm also running ViperOne & haven't had an issue with my voice mail expect there wasn't an app to click into to access it. It would just notify me when I got on. When I re-installed the stock messaging app instead of the modified one that came installed on ViperOne everything worked like it did before I changed roms. The icons came back & everything. BTW, did you try installing the modded mms app over in the development section? It's just like the stock one except the MMS sizes are larger.
Using a Sprint G900P S5 with LineageOS, root, and opengapps pico. I can call my voicemail and listen to the messages, but after missing call and getting a voicemail, I get no notification of it at all, besides the missed call.
Sprint doesn't have a visual voicemail app on the play store so that's not an option. I don't care about visual voicemail, but I'll use an app if it gives me notifications of a new voicemail.

Sprint voicemail doesn't work on custom roms. Atleast when I started using rom you couldn't use your voicemail. Sprint does have the option to use google voice lite for free, and that will work just like visual voicemail.

From Google and the devil
Google Voice Lite
Google Voice Lite isn’t available for new accounts. Learn how to set up a full Google Voice account.
If you already have a Google Voice Lite account, you can continue to use it or upgrade to a full account.
oh-ya i should mention Google Voice full version is also free
WELL.... if you are using a Custom ROM... Do You use Magisk? and at what Level (meaning 15.3 or 16.0 or even a Beta?)
Now, if you are using Magisk, and you happen to be using 15.3 ( Because this Module is not in the Repo for anything later. If you do Have it download, it might work on 16.0, Maybe!?!?! have to try your self)
Anyway, If you have Magisk, and or on Sprint Network, including Virgin, and Boost these 2 modules, are a huge deal.
First, off Sprint VVM > (don't know off hand,) However, someone, HAS made the App, into a Magisk Module. (I have it, and use it) Basically, it gives your Sprint Phone it voice mail back. With notifications....
Second must have... IS Wi-fi Calling. ( At least for me, on Virgin, and no charge for Wi-fi Calling) the Module has changed a bit, the latest is Called VoEnabler ( Now, U do have to make sure that you go through your phones Settings afterwards, and make sure the WI-Fi Calling is "Enabled" (it may not even be in your system before the "Reboot" I know for fact, it will be) So with this one you Get to use WI-Fi to make your calls, which will NOT count against you. Now the other thing it will give you, is VOLTE, but only if thats in your area... Sorry, not in mine, so I cant say much, wish it was. (VOLTE is like a faster 4G network, that dear old Sprint has out there, but not around me , Others have said, it works and works well though for them. )
Hope this helps you all out.
