Samsung recently announced qualifiers of Android 4.4 KitKat update coming in February with continuation in the coming months. Galaxy S4, S3, Note 3, Note 2 and more have been named for smartphones but what about tablets? Here are the complete list of larger Galaxy devices getting the latest firmware.
Samsung Official Listing
In addition to the Samsung Galaxy smartphones receiving the official Android KitKat such as Galaxy S4, Note 3, S3 and Note 2, several Galaxy devices with larger screens are also getting the same treatment starting in February and upcoming months.
Selected Galaxy slates receiving Android KitKat update are:
1. Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition
2. Galaxy Note 10.1
3. Galaxy Note 8.0
4. Galaxy Tab 3 7.0
5. Galaxy Tab 3 8.0
6. Galaxy Tab 3 10.1
On top of Android 4.4 KitKat firmware, the devices above may also receive the newest TouchWiz UI magazine-style which can only be found on PRO editions of Galaxy Note and Tab slates.
Samsung Change Logs
Samsung aims to provide more intuitive and better user experience on Galaxy devices running Android 4.4 KitKat OS. Upgrading these devices will improve system performance, app computability and enhancements on Google services.
1. Location Menu for integrated location menu to easily enable Wi-Fi, GPS and mobile networks with battery usage monitor of apps using location services.
2. Enhanced Messaging enable users to choose between the default Samsung messaging app or Google's Hangouts app with SMS/MMS support. Moreover, Emoji icon database also received new additions.
3. Upgraded GMS or Google Mobile Service for automatic backup of photos and videos which can be opened, viewed, renamed and shared via Google documents.
Update Schedule
Sadly, Samsung Mobile didn't clarify rollout schedule to their customers and simply imply that an update is coming out. Due to the lack of information when the rollout will strike, you can use these basis in order to find out if your Galaxy Note and Tab slates are receiving updates.
1. Launch the built-in software update app on your device. Go to Settings > About device > Software update > Check now. Normally, the device will detect any updates if connected to Wi-Fi.
2. Use your computer by downloading and installing Samsung Kies PC suite. Open the program then connect your device. It will detect any updates automatically as long as your machine is connect to the Internet.
3. Contact your network carrier especially if you are located in the United States for they need to modify the firmware according their variants. This is highly recommended so you can confirm if the OTA update or new firmware from Samsung Kies is the same with the network carrier's version.

I'm very skeptical if the wifi version of the 7 in tab gets the update. Hopefully, the devs can put out a rooted version, though.
this is like the 5th post about this already..

Dear all,
Recently I purchased a Samsung G3502U - GALAXY Trend 3 with Android version 4.2.2.
Two problems which I experience when I use my phone in The Netherlands:
1). When I go to Settings - Accounts - Add account, I am not able to select a Gmail / Google account (this option does not show up). This means I cannot access Google Play.
2). When I download and install Dutch apps using AppChina, I get the error: Application not installed.
Can I solve these problems by rooting my device? Or are there any other solutions to these problems?
Thank you in advance!

I bought the same device directly in China on 2013 december.
I thought that the word "English language" meant that the device had the usual (google) services installed
Unfortunately, the device has proved blocked throughout.
Moreover, to date, I have not found a ROM installed with certainty.
It seems that nobody certifies this device
if anyone has reliable indications to suggest, is welcome
This guy was posted back on Dec 19, 2014, but I just noticed it in my install list today. If you're running stock 4.4.2 on your Note 8, you can install a new version of S Note (it's not an upgrade to the stock S Note that comes preloaded, however; it's a completely new app) that's compatible with the newer S Note version on the Note 3 or the 2014 Note 10.1. No porting necessary!
According to the description:
This is the new S Note application, preloaded on Galaxy Note3 and Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition).
The new version allows you to view and edit the notes created on Note 3 and Note 10.1 (2014 Edition), and to sync accross other Note devices.
Tell your stories with the new version of S Note.
*This application is compatible with Android 4.4 and above.
Features:
- Attaching voice memos
- Adding
tags, index
- Saving sketch recordings
- Supporting some templates
- Synching with Samsung Cloud or Evernote
Grab it here:

Or check out your installed apps in your Account section of the Galaxy App store; it should show up. If not, search for "S Note" and look for the one published by Samsung Electronics co, ltd.

Can anybody upload it to any filesharing service? I haven't Samsung Apps.
In a very surprising move by Samsung (for me and my Note 3 at least xD), the new Samsung Internet 4 update is also made available for all Samsung Galaxy devices S4 and up (also includes the A series).
Like other new Samsung apps published on the Play Store, I thought it would only include the S7 & S6 series and the Note 5 & 4. But thankfully more Samsung user base can benefit from the new update =) Hopefully this will include other Samsung apps like the Gallery and Music apps. Those definitely need some performance boost.
Features include improved aesthetics, performance and security (especially for phones with fingerprint scanners) and most importantly, Content Blocking API for adblock support with apps such as Adblock Fast and Crystal!!!! =D
You should get the update on the Play Store (can't find it on Apk Mirror at the moment so just wait for the Play Store update) =)
I now hate Samsung a little less =P
Better performance compared to chrome
Doesn't work on CM13
Downloaded the apk from Apkmirror but it doesn't even complete the installation process. Guess it needs Touchwiz to work properly.
I think its only for LL..... my Note 3 is still KK and it says not compatible.... sigh....
I have a Chinese Note 10+ with a Galaxy Watch 4 Classic (US region)
Phone: SM-N9760
Watch: SM-R890NZKAXAA
Before I was able to connect using Chinese version of Google Wear app and US version of Samsung Wearables.
Recently there was an update for Samsung Wearables which stopped it from connecting.
Anyone having a similar connection problem with different region devices?
What other methods can I try to connect?
Really not wanting to buy another US Samsung phone to connect the watch.
Thanks in advance.
I am using GW4 (EU version) with my xiaomi 12 ultra, it works very well.
You just need to install Google framework to your phone, and install Galaxy Wearable with Google Wear (China version). Please be aware that you need to connect GW4 with bluetooth through Google wear app, and then sync your watch with your phone through Galaxy Wearable.
I think I already have the Google framework installed but this was when I first got the phone.
I see Google apps, YouTube.
Would a newer updated one be required?
I go to APKmirror.
Are there other sources better than that?
Thank you.
I'm still not able to sync the watch properly after reinstalling the Google Framework, Google Wear (China version), and Galaxy Wearable (US version).
Are there any other methods?
Thank you
Hello.
Everything works with WearOs China version except the Remote Connection... Anyone knows how to fix it.
Hi Guys,
Please advise how can I use Samsung CameraCorol app on my Galaxy Watch 4, my mobile device Samsung Galaxy A 71, running Android 13 (OneUI 5) official. Non rooted.
So you don't have a camera app companion in the watch? I do and when I open the camera app in the watch, I can see what the phone's camera is looking at and control it.
Its this what you are looking for? I have the watch 4 and S22 ultra, both updated with last official versions, but this was available from the beginning in UI 4.1.

It is possible, but I didn't see the camera companion app in the list, because it's normally already installed

But it is not available in my watch. I have already installed latest update.
It loads on the watch4 if your phone supports it. More than likely your phone does not support the companion app.
